Found it while staying at Warrnambool. TFTC

17-Aug-24
My found coordinates were slightly off but after PAF I was able to find this cache and left a trackable behind

08-Aug-24
Not going to lie, this one took me ages to get right. I thought that I had the right solution until I got to the Easterlies, I played around with a few things until I needed to PAF to help me out.Coordinates are a little out but reading the hint helps you get to where you need to be.Thanks for the cache

Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Spending a few days in Warrnambool to grab some local finds. Log sheet completely saturated. Left new log sheet in fresh plastic bag. Thanks for the hideLNCU

28-Jun-24
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. Thanks for placing this challenging multi. LNCU.

28-Jun-24
FlyingPigSquadron has landed! Nice puzzle. TFTC.

10-Mar-24
Quick find after working out the coords. Quick park and grab on a 40 degree day in sunny Warrnambool! TFTC

04-Mar-24
Found after camping out at Lake Leake for the night, heading south-east towards our next destination at Johannah Beach along the Great Ocean Road. Stopped off in Warrnambool to search for a few caches on our way along the coastline. Thanks for the cache Wollaston!

06-Feb-24
Using the first key, A=1etc, got ridiculous results so started again with the second key which made a lot more sense. Cache is a bit rusty but surprisingly dry. Great view even from ground level.

20-Jan-24
We have come down from Kaniva to take a friend to Panmure, after dropping them off we headed off to find a few caches. Heading to Warrnambool this was the second cache that was attempted and found. Once we parked we thought we knew where GZ was until we looked at the GPS. SL TFTC

20-Nov-23
Had worked out what I thought were the final co-ordinates for this one but surveying the scene from distance I assumed I had done something wrong, so never persued the treasure. Came here today while cacheing with scramping and hevwalker. Still came out with the same result. Only this time, we walked over to the final co- ordinates, and viola there it was. Note to self: don't assume, always investigate

19-Nov-23
Found with hevwalker and Eviloffspring, this one was tricky to find for a while but hevwalker had seen one of these type of hides before so it wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. TFTC

19-Nov-23
scramping & I were visiting Warrnambool for a 4-day long weekend.Eviloffspring joined us as we did some caching around town this afternoon. After working out the co-ordinates, which were the same as Eviloffspring had worked out some time ago, I had a far idea where it might have been hiding. I soon had my hand on the cache. Getting into the cache proved more of a challenge than it should have been, the lid was rusted onto the tin.Back to the car I went, WD40 and some pointy nosed pliers did the trick. Inside the cache was fine and the lid closed no problem. After signing the log, the cache was placed back as found.OH! It looks like the tower has been painted ready for a makeover. Hopefully some lovely artwork.TFTC & the challenge Wollaston Smile

02-Sep-23
After pulling up and starting to wander over to GZ Mr H_3 started to get attacked by a resident Masked Lapwing (Plover) and realised that the nest was in between himself and GZ. So he decided to leave this one for another time

02-Jul-23
Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Papi4506 and I were heading back to Melbourne slowly after joining some other cachers and doing a tour of Maralinga. Team Crackers and Micaparamedic have had to leave us so we are making our way home. The views from the base weren't too bad but can imagine that those from the top would be so much better. Made sure we were careful with the cache.Pleased to have a smiley here thank you.

02-Jul-23
We have been working our way home from a tour at Maralinga with a group of cachers, mainly from South Australia. Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and myself set off for some time but now there is only GT37 and myself left.We also need to be home soon but always time for a cache or seven on the way.Such a shame that the top wasn't open for public viewing as the views would have been stunning. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here.

12-Apr-23
As the bumbling Bruce who dropped this one last year, I thank the CO for not naming and shaming me, and for replacing it. This time around the signing went smoothly. Thanks Wollaston - a favourite for your efforts here

29-Mar-23
Found on a day spent targeting some caches of interest between Port MacDonnell and Warnambool.

After collecting the required information and calculating the final coordinates, it was a quick find at GZ not too far away.

Container and contents are in good condition.

Thanks Wollaston for the cache.

19-Dec-22
In Warrnambool and out caching with Pprass. Thanks for hiding and adding to our pleasure in exploring the area.

13-Dec-22
Last of the Warrnambool caches. My first visit was a photo then I worked out the careful calculations at the caravan park.
An early morning visit to find the cache.
Thanks for the history here kia1 and thanks for maintaining this cache Wollaston.

20-Nov-22
Took us a few goes over 2 years and today finally found the cache. Whoop Whoop.
Thanks for the great hide Smile

20-Nov-22
Thank for hi

12-Nov-22
Finally got this one back in place. New container & log ready to be found.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria

And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

08-Sep-22
Apologies for the delay in getting this one back on line. It’s proven to be a little more problematic than I anticipated. I’m still keen to keep it in play and will continue to try and resolve. A new container has been placed near GZ, but I still need a little longer to sort out the rest as we’re still travelling. Back in Warrnambool Mid July but with a little luck, I’ll get is resolved prior to then.

10-Jul-22
In the process of reworking & relocating the final GZ to prevent further accidental loss of containers. Planning on re-enabling the cache around late July.

24-Jun-22
As advised 23rd April when I temporarily disabled this cache, we will be replacing the container early July.

23-Apr-22
I’m advised that the container was dropped yesterday in the retrieval process and could not be recovered. As such I have disabled until I return in July to replace the container.

23-Jan-22
Continuing our holiday traditions of my wife off on a long 10+ km run, I took off geocaching into this lovely part of the world.

I'm trying to target more Multicaches and with the last log from the CO saying everything was all good here, I came past. Parked and my first thought was that would have beena great lookout, shame we can't go up.

This one it really pays to read the description. I failed it make any sense of the Puzzle part even though I knew I was looking at the correct sign. After getting the details from a PAF, I found the cache as signed it at 9 am. But I'm never happy to log a Puzzle or Multicache without being able to solve it myself. Re-reading the cache description, I could see what needed to be done and soon I had the correct solution.

Thanks for the cache Kia1 and Wollaston

Container replaced, good to go again.

Thanks for placing a cache here KIA1. We will do our best to maintain it into the future. We aim to get it back up and running within the next week or so.

27-Jan-21
Well this has been a work in progress. The cache is now in the process of being adopted by "Team Wollaston" and should be ready by late Feb 2021
Cheers,

18-Aug-20
The puzzle had a stumped but we got there in the end.

Cache is damaged so we didn’t add our names to the log.

Thank you for this unusual cache, we were pumped when we found it

18-Aug-20
This will need to be visited but due to COVID 19 will have to wait until we get the all clear.

02-Feb-20
We were too dumb to figure it out

20-Jan-20
Stayed at Warrnambool for few days been trying to solved the multi but it’s very hard one so paf helped. Logs damaged and so replace new one. The cache is good
Fav from me
enjoyed myself to found it
Thanks Kia1 for placing the cache

06-Mar-19
Had to recheck my maths a couple of times! Thankyou cheers bmtc18

10-Jan-19
Lack of housing noted,
I headed in through the well established suburbs today to take a gander at the tower Big Grin
Info gathereed,
I had half of a sensible coord [:o]
The other half would not work Sad
Too many two digit numbers !!

So I gave up on this one and headed off to find a couple more caches Razz
And about half way to the next cache I figured out what I had missed in the notes [:o]

A bit later,
with me corrected coords to hand,
I returned to the area for a quick cache find [^]

A sneaky multi,
you rotter Wink

25-Oct-18
Out for an afternoons caching with Super Pop in the Warrambool area.
We decided to try our luck at this one before finding some late lunch and can say we were a little concerned about the decryption key as you mentioned some have had trouble with it.
We came up with a set of coordinates that when we looked did not look right and we thought we had messed it up but on checking all looked good. Off we went and after looking at the hint we realised we were standing on GZ so it was not long before we were adding our names to the log.
Many thanks Kia1 for the cache and the history of this tower, it is a real shame they decided not to go ahead with the viewing platform it would have been great to have a look.

31-May-18
In Warrnambool today for work so I set about getting this cache. I had issues with coords being off so used a PAF to get me back on track. Unusual hide.

30-Dec-17
I had to PAF with help on this one as i didn't really like the GZ i had worked out for this one two night ago. Sure enough i got calculations wrong on both directions. So coming back tonight just before dark i searched again but there was nothing that matched the clue i was given for a GZ with my new coords. So i headed back to the car and that's when i spotted another place to search. And Bingo, there was a cache. 5m away from my original wrong coords and 30m away if not more from the spot i was told the cache was and my PAF had previously found it! Strange.Thx kia1 for your caches, I've certainly got my money's worth out of them! Cheers!

14-Nov-17
Figured out the coordinates about a month ago but didn't find it. Got it now that it's been replaced though. Tftc!

12-Nov-17
OK, a new container has been placed here.
Cheers

Home from leave so will check ASAP

25-Oct-17
ROAD TRIP! - Day two Cool After driving to Mount Gambier yesterday via the scenic Coorong route collecting caches that I haven't found, it was time for a forage across the border with mogni. [^] Our target was to make our way to Warrnambool and try and get the remainder of the puzzles and multi's we were yet to do, leaving just traditionals to collect another day. If not for two DNF's we would have succeeded too. [:o)]
Bugger. our second DNF. Did the calculations. walked to GZ. No that can't be right. Back to start. Photographed. Did them again. Surprised back to GZ.
read logs. Got down in the gutter. Surprised If it was a snail - then I dropped it. Four times in fact. I hope it wasn't disguised as a snail! Red Face Torch. Still nothing.
Another one for next trip. Twisted
Thanks anyway Kia1. Straight to GZ next time! Big Grin

25-Oct-17
We found the tower, we found the sign, we did some calculations but no cache in the likely spot Sad

14-Oct-17
After working out where Gz was with kenare and kenbryl, we were all on our knees having a good look and feel around, but no sign of a cache. Oh well, next time.

14-Oct-17
Even with a torch we didn't find it. We felt silly on our hands and knees. Hmmm maybe we should've looked at previous logs before starting. Thanks anyway

03-May-17
put a temporary replacement in

15-Apr-17
sorry - we found it but even with the warning it still slipped from our fingers - didn't think to put a temp there - sorry for the inconvenience tftc

10-Jan-17
Found!

10-Jan-17
Worked out coordinates then off to search the cache, at 9:59pm found the cache good hide Found with Rottpak (pk) ours signed name TKG. TFTC

26-Nov-16
I moved or should I say my parents and rest of our family moved to Warrnambool in 1973 so this local area would of been what they too would of seen as the photo was taken, probably not from that height but maybe even remembered over looking the area. My how the town has changed with time, funny about that eh? I had worked on this one a while ago and never really followed up on it after initially having a few troubles with the numbers. While in town this afternoon for my fathers 80th birthday I decided to knock this one off as it was my last unsolved cache in town. After a little number crunching and short search this morning the hide was quickly located, the cache container a little battered but still good and out of the way. Thanks Kia1 for the cache and for highlighting this area and how it once was.

19-Nov-16
Found at 11:51 AM GAFF4.
Oh my - this multi is so messed up. I would welcome the CO to try and explain how it is supposed to work because even when we found the cache and took the co-ords at GZ they made absolutely no sense to the questions that were asked.
We think that the sign has been changed since this cache was set up, because it just does not work at all.
Also what does this mean - "Due to cachers having a little trouble deciphering the Decryption Key I have included a CHECKER # M= 26 and B= 15 "
What does "M" mean and what does "B" mean? M for Mouth and B for Bast? I would really like the CO to get back to us to explain as we are just on another plane it seems.
BTW - thanks to Riddell for some information that really helped!
Thanks Kia1.

19-Nov-16
Caching with Pprass. A co-ordinated effort.
We had been here previously and had crunched the letters and numbers already and come up empty handed. So with another pair of eyes looking and a slightly different approach to the cache (Peter driving the wrong way!) Cath soon had the cache in hand.
Finally crossing this one off the list.

Struggling to work out after collect the clues..
Met CO at BBQ event... I show him my notes...
He wasn't sure what I'm writing so lovely McLooker was writing down for me to see how it works.
Ah got it.. Start work out again then drove to the Twin Towers 2##... my gps was jumping all over the place... I wait for it to settle in.. my gps was pointing at the cache. I stared at that thing.. hmmm
finally cache in my hand. wow
Finally log it with big smile on my face.
Thanks Kia1

23-Oct-16
This has a nice new dry log.
Cheers.

*22/10/16, Found @ 6:12 pm, Find # 5839.*

After the event and before it was time to head for home, I set about finding a few more caches around Warrnambool.
Initially I was looking for something else at the start of this but I was soon on the right track.
I had worked out the coordiates by something didnt seem right, after checking out some more details, I then realised that another step was needed, I then had the correct coordinates.
I still was 100% sure as the gps had me at an unusual location but with a quick check the cache was found.
The cache is Very second hand and needs replacing as it is a bit smaller than it originally was.

**Thanks to Kia1 for placing this cache.**

20-Oct-16
McLookers gathered the information on an earlier visit to Warrnambool but thought she had made an error. Getting us to rework the numbers only gave us the same outcome, so today we tested the theory and fortunately came up trumps with the prize. yay!
Thanks Kia1 for the multi , it certainly was a tricky one.

20-Oct-16
Having grabbed the info on an earlier trip and collaborating with The Tritonz at a later date, we had a set of co-ords that we thought worth testing. At GZ today we found the cache neatly tucked away just where the hint said it would be. The log was very wet, we scratched our name and replaced. Thanks Kia1, a bit curly, but we enjoyed the information about the tower.

30-Jul-16
No luck Sad

Having trouble with this one. Must have mucked up the coords. No cache found but a nice walk had. Will have to try again.

27-Aug-14
After a bit of confusion over the decrypting we found it! Thanks Kia1.

18-May-14
Worked out the coordinates a while ago, had a quick look, but was unsuccessful. Then I saw it was offline being fixed. I must admit the coordinates seemed to be on private property. With a new location I worked out the revised coordinates and geokid1 & I made an easy find. TFTC Kia1 & for providing some more history on the water towers around town.

17-May-14
Found it with the beesharps!
Our first attempt at a multi. We figured it out after a few attempts.
Awesome cache, thanks Smile

14-May-14
Found this one this time! Very pleased! Haha although as soon as I found the cache I looked over to a elderly man crashing into a power pole! I ran over and was the first person on the scene! They paramedics think he sufferd a heart attack while driving! Not something you usually see caching! Thanks heaps for this one! Had a lot of fun!:)

04-May-14
OK, we are going to have yet another go at this one, I wonder how long it will last.
There has been a slight adjustment to the Southly coords in the puzzle.

Cheers, and good luck.

Wait... this one has been missing?? :O I've spent three days looking for it with my friends!!!! And even though the coordinates we calculated was on someone's house..... so we DONT suck at finding! Yaaay! Will need to go back to Warrnambool again when you have replaced it Smile

07-Apr-14
Well it's happened againnnnnn.
I went and checked it out and it is AWOL.

Will check another GZ.
Cheers,

Ok The beessharps, email me.

Had another attempt at this after last time I searched into the early hours of the morning! This cache is killing me! I'm positive I have the co-ords correct could someone confirm for me that the cache is still there? Or another clue or something! Great cache it's really got me stumped! Hahaha

16-Mar-14
Finally figured out the correct decryption key after a few attempts and got co-ordinants that seemed right. Looked everywhere but could not find the cache! Will try again soon Smile

03-Jan-14
Struggled to get log out of its tube, when I finally did I found it blank. This was my first find so I want sure what to write. I assume the date and ID are fine.

11-Oct-13
Ok, this has been checked and the wet log replaced.

Thanks for the heads up.

Enjoy

24-Sep-13
The instructions completely confused us especially the b equaling 1 and 13 ??? anyway we eventually found it and it was soaking wet and needs maintenance. TFTC

Our second visit.
Know where to look but unable to feel anything.
Washed away?

03-Jun-13
Well in Warrnambool for yet another week of Table Tennis, so another good chance to cache in the Bool & the weather was a lot kinder this week Smile Well i made this so much harder than it had to be. After half an hour of scratching my head i left for another cache, which i couldn't find. So at this point was getting very frustrated, so being one that doesn't like to give up had another look at the info for this one. After another half hour & much head scratching, it hit me & wow did i feel silly when not only had a finally figured where i went wrong but when i finally got to the GZ i had been sitting so close to the cache i could have touched it earlier on in the evening Smile Very cool & different way to do a cache Smile
TFTC Smile

23-May-13
Ok, we are all set to go again.
Third time lucky?

16-May-13
I was given a message that this one may have gone missing.
I will check it out.

Cheers.

14-May-13
In Warrnambool for another Mondays Table Tennis for the kids so the family was off for another night cache hunt in the wet. Came to do this one & realised we had left the gps at home so had to use the iphone instead so thought we'd leave for next visit Smile

08-Apr-13
This one took two visits, some verification of information by the CO, and a previous finder, and I still didn't have the co-ords down as close as I would like them. I found for me at least, if I add 89 rather than 99 as mentioned in the description, the co-ords came out fairly spot on. sl tftc

24-Mar-13
Nice one...took a few tries but at last found! TFTC

08-Mar-13
Well Suscoe finally made it back here after a DNF on the first day of this cache's life.
We did the coords and got the same numbers wedding back then, but it now made a little more sense,
Saw the cache as we wandered past, a quick find in the end after double checking numbers.
Thanks to Kia1 for this nicely challenging cache, well done.

05-Mar-13
Finally got it. I was so close on many occasions was looking up not down. Thx for the help.??

12-Feb-13
Live not too far away from here so thought I’d trot down to do this “Multi”.
Writing down all the details and noticed a bike rider ride up, lean his bike under the tree and retrieved something. Walked over and he was writing in a log. Don’t know if I’m allowed to ask but I did and he said it was Twin Towers 2 – If it hadn’t been for him I might not have found this one, said it took him months. Thanks Low Rs, and thanks Kia1 – that one was easy!!!!! Wink

12-Feb-13
This cache has been the BIGGEST bane of my short Caching life!
If the errors of my ways can help someone then something good has come of it!
You have to use the “Decrypt” on the web page to get the correct coordinates.
Line up the letters (some are wider than others and some skinner!) DOH.
Don’t do this cache when the Masked Lapwings are nesting!
Thanks Kia1 for the worry lines on my face, lack of sleep, bald spots where I have pulled out my hair, my drug dependency and alcohol problem !
I signed the log and left a Hot Rod; I know you are going to ask how he fitted a Hot Rod in a Macro?
I bloody welded it to the cache – don’t want others to have the same problems as I did!!!!
Look for the Hot Rod!
Also got sprung by some other GeoCacher while filling out the log book – look like he escaper form Lord of the Rings.

This cache was the Alpha and the Omega of what was intended to be a quick wind up of Warrnambool caches! At the impressive structure the letters are large and very easy to count. We counted and calculated and counted and calculated again AND again! We even looked at some of our options. To avoid the possibility of divorce proceedings, we left to look for a couple of near by caches.

Back for the second episode we resorted to the PAF lifeline, we recounted and recalculated , recounted and recalculated again! A search around our new co’ordinate options proved fruitless. In desperation a second appeal for help found the cache almost within arms reach of where the call was made from.

Satellites today did have what we believe is the correct GZ, 25m from where we found the cache located.

What a morning!

TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Kia1.
