We are disabling this cache until we can attend to any issues at the end of August.
Marked for maintenance. Took a walk around and searched but no luck. Gave up and headed back to car only to find empty container at car park fence.
Sad did not find , this could be a really lovely reserve with a bit of attention , many thanks for the visit
Day out with sassieold55 to collect a few gems, looked in a likely hiding spot but sadly no find for us here. Shame these reserves are let go and picnic areas neglected as they are true gems.Tftc Phetlern

With another day to clear from my caching Calendar (Day #363) and a Wednesday ride to be ridden, cache finding was going to be entirely dependant on where the ride took me. Today it was to Anakie, so the hunt was going to be on the route home from there. I originally picked Benjamin Screamer's 25 000 Trees, but a closed road put a very quick stop to that idea.
So, a quick change of plan and direction and I headed in the general direction of this cache. Not having done the necessary prep, I initially parked on the wrong side of the bridge, as there was a nice spot to turn around and head back the way I needed to go. A quick navigation check and I moved the bike to a nice shady parking spot and went for my walk from there.
Being a warm (very) day, I was on the lookout for our slithery friends, but none to be seen today. I was also wary retrieving the cache, but again, all clear.
The cache is in good condition.

I get quiet jumpy caching on warm days, but luckily there was nothing seen to jump about. Tftc
After doing the tree climb not far away, I needed some easy to find caches , but this was the nearest that was still unseen by me, so this was it, Thanks, to Phetlern, for bringing me to see some wonderful workmanship on the FORD, and the handforged steel side posts are something else, a blacksmith did a lot of sweating to make those,
I was out and about today with Bushfire chasing down some earthcaches for International Earthcache Day. It was quite hot today and the perfect weather for geocaching. We both come from Geelong and we were driving up past Daylesford so it was quite a drive to get to the caches that we wanted to attempt. We found a few TBs along the way and we can put some extra km on them by taking them back to Geelong. I had a new GPS device to test out today so I was really excited to see it's capabilities. Bushfire's $800 GPS overshadowed mine a bit but at least I don't have to use my phone anymore!
We spotted this one easy, on the ground. Well, of course it wasn't meant to be there for any muggle to see so we signed and then put back in a likely hiding place. TFTC

This is our first time, we didn't take a pen so we couldn't log it in the book. Was very exciting seeing it. There will be more adventures to come! Thank you to the geocachers that put it in an easy but great hiding spot!
Thanks for the cache Pheltern. Thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot here today. I suspect that as time goes by the pleasant park the cache is hidden in will get noisier and noisier due to the ever increasing traffic noises. Cache is safe and sound. Log and swag is dry. SL. TN. L one car wash token. Removed the empty pen barrel to the nearest bin. I hope you'll agree with me that it was rubbish. Happy geocaching!
Nice little rest area tucked away .... had an enjoyable lunch break here then a quick find. TFTC
Found as we explored the area, thanks for bringing us to this lovely little area, nice and peaceful, thanks for the cache and the fun
Great little stop to break the drive. Team effort but well spotted by my girl.
Found with teamashy on a cold and windy afternoon. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
I realised I have been here before but did not have time to locate the cache.
With plenty of time on my hands, I parked the Geowagon and set off in search of the cache.
GPS bounced around a bit but after searching in a wide radius I soon spotted the cache.
The old road and ford was worth checking out and I wonder how often water flows over the top of it.
Thanks Phetlern TFTC.

Nice quick find. Drive past here all the time. Didn't know this reserve existed. Thanks for opening my eyes to it. TFTC.
On a return trip from Melton after dropping the youngest member of H_3 off at a friends house for the week, we decided to grab a couple of caches on the way home. The gps had us going around in circles for a while, then Mr H gave up on the gps and his geo senses kicked in, and soon the call came out that he had found it. What a great little spot, pity about the long grass, certainly wouldnt want to be here on a really hot day!!! Thanks for the cache Phetlern.
What a lovely
Spot. Circled this cache for 10 mins before I spotted it. TFTC Phletern. On my way home to Bendigo so I better get going.

This was a good chance to spread the legs. Thankfully no snakes appeared en route. It took me a bit to work out if I was looking in the right spot, but the cache was in hand before too long. It's a nice spot down by the water. TFTC.
Found this on a nice sunny day. I was spooked a bit cos of snakes. But never seen any. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find after a huge day in the Brisbane ranges doing the fun 4 kids trail. Tftc
While I travelled around Australia,
I also found this nice cache.
Thanks for it!

I also found this nice cache.
Thanks for it!

What a great little reserve. It could do with a mow though! We followed the overgrown track down toward the river and circled gz a few times before noticing the container. After signing we walked down to the old bridge and saw hundreds of tadpoles swimming in the almost black water. Thanks Phetlern we enjoyed our stop.
Found on the way to The Surf Coast event. A few workers there trying to battle weeds, but they were more interested in lunch at the time. Lovely tree near the picnic shelter. TFTC
We found your cache Believe It Or Not – Rest Easy on our way to Anglesea. An unexpected reserve and a bush bash to the cache.
Thanks Phetlern for the cache!
Thanks Phetlern for the cache!
Lovely walk along the creek until hit with a sudden downpour . Quick find when you're determined to not get back into the car without a find. Thanks
Stopped to look for this cache on my way to Gisborne today.....took me longer than it should have as I couldn't let my eyes see the obvious. Interesting to see the old bridge. Thank you for the cache was good to stop and have a break from driving.

Out caching today with boatietim, heading towards the Balliang area.
This one took way longer than it should have. When coords had us in the middle of nothing, we widened the search area, and went way too wide. Backtrack to square one and after 20 mins, found it right near where we started. TFTC Phetlern!

This was the only find for the day whilst driving back from Geelong. I was feeling a little tired so I dropped past the reserve to have a do a quick cache and rest. I found the previous cache here many years ago and it was nice to return and find the new cache. I didn't remember the old river crossing so I enjoyed checking it out. There's some beautiful gums here. The cache was found quickly and I dropped off a TB to continue it's travels. TFTC Phetlern!

Heading back to Geelong, thought I'd obtain a few smilies. Co-ords were a bit off for this one, but widened search, looked high and low, and hurray, cache was spotted. Tftc
Great little hide for the geokids to find. Lots of trades for a small. Didn't know this cute little reserve was here. Thanks
School holidays, restless kids. Whatever shall we do? Quick caching Jaunt up the Bacchus Marsh Road, focus on "Normal" and "Large" size caches (kid-swap friendly). Now this one may be a "Small", but it was hot on the heels of the previous one, and the kids were pretty buoyant. Thanks heaps, Phetlern!
A very quick find, coords were out a bit but that was probably our phone! Another find by the McPhail family
Out on a night cache run with Bazinga01, we stopped to get this cache on a detour to another cache. A bit hard to find at night but Bazinga01 came up with the goods. TFTC
Headed out at night for a tidy up of the local map area with Arkbell80 again. This area is surprisingly beautiful once you get away from the glare of suburbia. We had a beautiful cloudless night with only occasional whisps of fog across the road. The find was nice and easy. And we were on our way in no time.
TFTC!!!
TFTC!!!
After a big day with Bogonghazy and lots of walking stopped to grab a few more on the way home. Great little park for the Geodogs to have a run and stretch. Many thanks
On way home from visiting the Werribee Zoo, just couldn't pass this one. A good spot to get the Geo car off the road, a short walk and we soon had the cache in hand. A nice spot for a cuppa. Thanks
Found on my way to Melton. Good stop for the geopup to strech herblwgs! And mine of course tftc!!

A quick find at this location as we looked to end our day out in the Brisbane Ranges.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this cache here today. A drive and stoll.

Stopped off for a quick break. Having not done a cache for too long, I decided to check if there were any caches nearby. This one popped up. Quick and easy, just how I like my caches. TFTC.
Went out today with Slink1 to do some caches to see if we can get our mojo back after both of us have been caught up with other work. Had a lot of fun with these and thanks to Phetlern for the placements. TNLN TFTC SL
Today Dunko and I decided to spend most of Saturday caching, so with the best intentions we set out but did not arrive at our first cache until 1Pm " distractions from the task " . Regardless of our start time the varied caches along our trek made for an entertaining time out, many thanks to Phetlern for the effort and placement of this cache. TNLN SL
Found on our 2016 Geelong trip. On our way through towards Bacchus Marsh, we got this cache. After a short walk along the path towards GZ, the cache was quickly found. Lovely spot down by the river and a good chance to stretch the legs - the cold breeze was a bit too cold though! TNLNSL. TFTC Phetlern!
Found this cache today. I was chasing isolated caches (at least 2 km distant from other caches) for a New Zealand challenge cache I am doing currently and this was the third cache I found today. On getting here I realised that initially I was in the wrong place (I didn't follow the instructions to the parking waypoint) especially when the dog across the road let me know in no uncertain terms -not in an unfriendly way but very insistently. I saw where I was meant to be and went there. I wasn't daring enough to go and check out the old bridge but it was interesting to see it. I then found the cache and signed the log. I also realised that this cache should have been done second but that was beside the point. I continued onwards today.
Thanks for the cache Phetlern.

Quick and easy find. Very over cast. Doing a few caches while we are here on holidays.
Caching on the way home from getting ftf's in Anakie. I'm glad we have the new bridge, this one looks a little bumpy and flood prone. Tftc.
Out to get a few caches today with the family and this was our first stop. I've driven this road sooo many times and never knew there was a reserve there. Parked the car and headed down the path, we came across spitfire caterpillars and bullants.
Arrived at gz, signed the log, made trades and replaced. We then carried on for a quick walk over the bridge before moving onto the next. Thanks for bringing us here!

We were struggling a bit to find it at the start, with a GPS location that seemed to put this cache in the grass. But then we expanded the search by just s few metres and found what we were looking for!
GPS made it a lite tricky to find but we've managed to track it! Thanks for the cache
Gps made it a lil tough at the start, but the geosis and I still managed to find it! TFTC
It took us a little bit to work out where we were meant to be. The gps left us guessing without a map at first, and then later had us standing in the middle of the grass. The kids soon spread out and checked all the logical hiding places which soon paid off. We of course couldn't help noticing the little bridge, and made a guess at it being the old Geelong-Bacchus Marsh Rd. Thanks to Phetlern for highlighting this lovely little spot!

Found 26/8/15 on way home from work.. Didn't even know this rest stop existed and I drive this road every day!!
On the way home after a mostly successful day of caching. The main lack of success was because I intended to find a lot more and my pocket query didn't download properly onto my GPSr and I fluffed around like a greenhorn on a phone! What an amazing old bridge near to GZ. We also spotted a huge nest of newly hatched caterpillars in a nearby tree (thinking it was a giant bison!) and stood and watched in amazement! TFTC and safe parking spot to leave the geomobile!
Found it while out with ljthrilla. Thanks for bringing me to this place, I've been past many times but never stopped. TFTC TNLN SL
Of all the times driving to Geelong this way and yet never realised that this little reserve existed! TFTC TNLNSL
Down this way in the truck today I had a delivery less than 1km from this reserve so i figured I'd pull in here and make a quick find beforehand. I really enjoyed this reserve and the cache was located without too much trouble. TFTC
Found after a day at the fairy park to celebrate the birthday of a young Kiara001 member. Thanks for the hide.
Found out on a day trip to Fairy Park with Madduk&Fatjig, The lost Wanderers and VK3GS&CC. This one was located quickly by Geodad. TFTC Phetlern
