Heading to Girraween for a long weekend of hiking and exploring. Quick find along the way.Tftc Team RobinsFind #5937
Out for a little ride around Stanthorpe (well not so little) as we cruised out to Undercliffe Falls and then back to do a very enjoyable circuit route.Had to double check this one to drag out the cache.
Had to attend to train duties this morning at Stanthorpe Railway Station. So after we had waved goodbye to the loco and passengers, we set off, picnic in hand with a plan. Undercliffe Falls. That was our plan. And usually, plans go a bit awry, but today, we achieved 10/10 caches, some were solved puzzles, one was a previous DNF, the rest were - well - either on the way, or there.
What a pretty road. Easy find, but no turtles today
What a pretty road. Easy find, but no turtles today
no turtles today, nor did I find the cache easy to find but with a little assistance it was soon in hand. RC had dropped me off while she went up further to turn around. She was clearly thinking of other things when she came back as the car when flying past then stopped suddenly; oops she nearly forgot to pick me back up. We both had a good laugh about it and decided it was time to call it a day. tftc
With a funeral to attend tomorrow, my wife and I travelled down from Brisbane to Stanthorpe a day early to do some sight seeing. I was actually down this way a week ago, over the Easter break, with Crookedpete and knew the local waterfalls were all in full flow after the recent rains. Undercliff Falls was the closest one to visit, with the added bonus of some unloved caches nearby, so we headed out this way on our way into town.
Although I managed to look in the right place from the beginning, the natural camo protecting the cache didn't budge when I first inspected it so I moved on to search other areas. With options fast running out, and cattle in a nearby pen looking on judgmentally, I returned to my initial search area for a better look and soon discovered that which eluded me. TFTC

Even though today's mission was complete we decided we may as well clear the map of this one too. On our return along the road it was obvious it had been raining here for a little while (no rain at Undercliff Falls while we were there)...the edges of the road were flowing with water. Able to pull up relatively close to the cache, Kestal dashed out to retrieve it bringing it back to the car to sign. Replaced as found and we were on our way back home. TFTC Team Robins.
Eskies5 and I planned a trip to Stanthorpe and surrounding areas to nudge me a little closer to a milestone. With the nudge turning into a push and the push now a certainty and done deal, this is find 5001 for me. This was the fifty-eighth stop and final find of the day for me. We made the find on this cache at 12:43pm our time and 1:43pm caches time in the pouring rain with not a problem. Signed and returned. TFTC

We had loaded up Scooby Doo (Car) & the Mystery Machine (Van and mobile GEO HQ) and headed off for 6 days of camping and caching. Our first stop was a lavender farm not too far from Stanthorpe where we set up the Mystery Machine and headed off to do some of the local caches.
We took nothing but memories; we left nothing but footprints, and our tag.
The hide is excellent, the container is in good nick. and the log is in good condition and ready for the next finder.
Thanks for the cache Team Robins.

Out with Maski and Skippy on a beautiful sunny day in Stanthorpe - day time temperature quite mild compared to when the sun sets. Only Snow we have encountered has been in this series though the morning white frost attests to how cold it is. Great to have some new caches to do at one of our favourite locations. Thanks to Team Robins for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found at 2:50 PM GAFF1.
After a very nice lunch at the Ballandean Tavern we headed out to the next nearest group of caches for us. Love this area.
Thanks Team Robins.

After going back into town for lunch we came back out this way to find these caches. Quick find, signed and replaced. TFTC
When I read the story of the cache it made sense. Otherwise what has it to do with a cattle loading ramp?
Nice drive along this bit of track, though. Cache is good nick.
Found at 12.20pm on 9th December, 2015. TFTC.

Found in the company of RoddyC after a lovely trip of caching along the Mount Lyndsay Highway. TFTC
A quick trip to Stanthorpe for the traditional but a little early Xmas in July event for 2015. I took the opportunity to tackle the caches along the once was Mt Lindsay Highway but is now Mt Lindsay Road.
I had travelled the dirt section while at the mega to get to Bald Rock but that was just about sight-seeing. Today was different. I saw the sunrise at Amberley, bypassed the traffic jam at Aratula and made a beeline for Liston and the nearby Undercliife Falls. I headed south to Tenterfield and tackled everything along the way, before heading north to Robins Nest and the event and the overnight stay.
Just the sort of palce one would to expect to find either a turtle or a cache. Great scenery.
Thanks for placing this cache Team Robins

Today we did some post Mega caching finding 83 and 2 DNFs caches. Our aim today was to try and finish the caches on the eastern side of Stanthorpe to Tenterfield and return. We enjoyed the journey that the cache locations took us to.
We appreciate the time and effort gone into placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

Found by Mary & David, in company with Alansee and Phetlern (signed as MAP), at 1010. On our last day of caching with friends, we headed southward along the Mt Lindesay Road towards Tenterfield. A great day of interesting caches, waterfalls and historic locations What a story these palings could tell. Our thanks to Team Robins.

Following the fun and games of the Qld Mega, our caching today took on a different focus. With Alansee and maccamob, we headed in a south easterly direction from Stanthorpe. To continue our conservation of log space in those horrible micro's, we signed as MAP. There was time to enjoy the scenery, visit the waterfalls, read the notes on the cache pages more carefully which gave us a greater appreciation of why caches have been placed in particular locations.
We signed with a foot in each camp!
Our thanks to Team Robins for bringing us here.

Found with Phetlern and Maccamob on our last day of caching in the area before going our respective ways. We all really enjoyed this back road with its many caches.
Love the story behind the name. Mr. Herbz thinks it's called Spring Hill as this is where the cattle run up the little hill and spring into the back of the truck! TFTC Team Robins.
Quick easy find, TFTC Staying on in Stanthorpe after attending the Q'land Mega which was first class and great fun! )
I saw a turtle was crossing at somewhere when I was moving down to Melbourne from Brisbane in 2010.

Out and about with Roostaman and lgoody today. It was supposed to be a day up at Bald Rocks National Park today but the rain has put a hold on that plan. Luckily we had a few caches close by to do. Managed to grab this without getting too wet.

That was an awesome find on a beautiful road. Was not put back in its right spot as it was lying on the ground. So have hidden it but still easy!
I didn't need to get out of the car before I found it because someone's left it on the ground. What a shame!
Enjoying a beautiful trip through to Undercliff falls with the folks. Great location for a hide (and photo taking). Dad is getting more interested in the geocaching as has the unfair advantage of a proper GPS - sometimes the iPhone can be a little frustrating.
Cache is in good condition, though log needs replacing soon. 4 spaces left and i haven't started travelling with gear to help out yet sorry! TFTC.

On our continuing travels today we found another cache nearby so we had to get it before proceeding to accommodation in Stanthorpe. Cheers Team Robins
As often happens when caching, time had gotten way from us. After finding Undercliff Falls we had to get moving to our digs in Stanthorpe. However there just happened to be another cache nearby and we really could not leave it unfound, plus it would not take too much time and, and, well....... You know how it is right? [:o)] So we duly rolled up at GZ and were rewarded with a quick find, now we could call it quits for the day. Cheers Team Robins
I wondered where the name came from for this one. Part of it makes sense when you get to GZ, but not the other. I didn't realise turtles migrated
A slight detour (one of several) on the way home. No point leaving a few lonely caches unfound out here

Apologies for the extremely late log. Went on our annual camping trip to Boonoo Boonoo with friends and completed Basket Swamp the day before. Everyone else climbed Bald Rock (the hard way) on the day we found this cache. We decided not to this time as we were flying out on an overseas trip and decided not to risk an injury to either of us so close to our flight date. So did something safer and captured the rest of the caches along this road. On return from our trip, I discovered these on my GPS found list. I remember this one well as I too always stop to move the turtles and then wonder if I put them on the right side of the road haha TFTC Team Robins
We where going to leave this one but Geodad said why not get it while we are so close. A nice quick find in a great spot. TFTC.

Another delightful country road. No turtles today but we found the cache. Imagine the stories these bales could tell if they could talk . TFTC Team Robins
What a lovely place this is [^]. You turn off the car and step out into absolute silence. Everywhere is lush and green (except the road ). Everyone enjoys a drive in the country, but it's even better when you stop and get out. No turtles today, just a couple of geocachers lurking around. TFTC
Out for a drive in the bush, found some good caches while seeing some great sights.

Kind of glad we didn't see any turtles because we were having enough trouble with kangaroos dicing with death. TFTC Team Robins
We were not treated to any turtles today - but I have expereinced them crossing the road in front of me in rural areas before - they have all lived to tell the tale.
Captain Terror parked down the ways a bit and made our way to GZ. We both spotted the cache instantly. It was in good condition. We gave the cache a little bit of cover. TFTC Team Robins

What a letdown! Not a turtle to be seen at GZ.. all those promises TR and nothing to show for it. You're just lucky there was a cache nearby. Fangsoki and I made the short walk to where the GPS wanted us and I managed to spot the beast from some distance away. After signing I made sure to cover it better. TFTC Team Robins
We'd been visiting in the area (a 21st at Willson's Downfall) and we managed to stagger up to this one in the late afternoon.
Alas no turtles today...but we did find a cache I for the life of me couldnt spot the 'Spring Hill' sign. It was only as I was heading back to the car MrsW said.."have you looked up there?" Lo' and behold...there really was a sign!

Woo Hoo! Signed the log as FTF at exactly 10:15am. Boy did we have trouble getting here. Our car had been parked with poor old Tom Tom in the sun for several hours and he had sunstroke. He led us a wild dance all over the countryside before stopping in a completely different location. Tom Tom had a widely different GZ to the handheld gps which had been in the shade. A complete reset by sticking Tom up the backside with something sharp refocussed him and got us to the right place. Found the cache with our hearts in our mouths until we saw the blank log book. Phew! Thanks for a new cache around here Team Robins. Nice hide. Now on to the other one and see if we are still lucky.
