I noticed that this cache has been in need of owner attention for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Nice hike up the hill but couldn't find - didn't read the activity log until we were at the top - but great view
Can owner check cache is still there and replace anyway if it is as it looks to be in a bad way.
Huffed and puffed up the hill in the hot afternoon heat to GZ. No one around so commenced my search but had to stop part way as muggles were approaching. Once they were gone, i got back into looking at every nook and cranny in which the cache could be hidden. After about 20 mins, i texted a friend who told me where i should be concentrating but alas, the cache is gone. Found a nice spot which im sure the cache was but the spot was empty. Can the owner please check and replace as the container looks to be in bad shape anyways. Ill be back!
One year ago, first date! Met our first geocaches, so had to come back to find it ourselves! After a lot of determined searching, Neato found an old cracked container. Not sure if this is current as the log was dry mush, pages stuck together and illegible. But we'll claim it as found!
That was not so easy. I searched for a long time till I found him. For me was the hint very confusing. But at least was all right. The box needs maintenance!
Thank you for the great view
Thank you for the great view
Briefly looked at all the most likely places, after thinking about the cryptic hint, but as Samora354 and I seemed to have attracted the attention of a council worker we didn't persist for too long. I will be back. Hopefully the owner will have done maintenance by then.
The cache container is cracked, the lid has holes in, and the logbook is a sodden mess. put a sticker of the underside of the lib with our name and date, but not sure how well it'll last, or if there'll room for anyone else to use it. This whole cache needs to be replaced (sorry we forgot our caching kit today).
In the area to visit the Secret Island, so throught we'd make the most of a wonderfully sunny mid-winter Sunday, and explore Pigeon Mountain. Took a westerly approach, which was fortuitous since there it was a considerably shorter climb. Not many people about today, so the four of us could have a good search for this one. The terrain and difficulty ratings would seem a tad low for this cache. We eventually found it (after getting suitably cryptic with the hint), but not before the younger half of the team had given up. TFTC.
Had to really think about the hint before it fell into place. Took a bit of a search but eventually came up with the goods. A couple of muggles about but they weren't worried about what we were doing. Couldn't sign log as cache in need of maintenance.
What a great view! Took a while with the GPS not playing ball but got there in the end. Nice one!
This took a little bit long to find as the gps kept jumping, but KiwiPeat came across the goods in one of our last efforts. Container looks as if it has been replaced and is good and dry TFTC
A friend with us found it. However the cache needs replacing as it is cracked and lid is broken quite badly. Found a spider inside when we opened it up.T4TC anyway.
Great walk up here and spotted the hiddie hole on way up without the gps, great spot, TFTC.
Puffed and panted my way up here since I was so close by. TFTC, great views just on sunset.
It looks like the king had a higher platform at one time judging from the erosion around the survey monument. The cache container is cracked and there’s a hole in the lid, dear Liza. All is OK and dry for now but it won’t last when the rains return. Cheers for the cache.
Not sure about king of the castle but I was certainly puffing billy by the time I got to the top to get this one...Found quickly - guessed the clue straight away. Found on a caching weekend with Davycrockpot. TFTC
Great view from up here, Mrs Kiwi was quick to come up with the goods. TFTC
Last time we were caching in this area none of the rest of the family wanted to traipse up the hill after this one. Today Dad was all on his own so decided to go after this to keep the streak going. An easy climb and a relatively easy find. TFTC.
Found what appears to be the cache, but log is missing. Is in a spot completely unrelated to clue?
Took me a while. Gps sent me all over the place. Hint wasnt that useful. In the end i just looked for something out of place and then found it.
Great view.
Awesome spot to hide it

Container and log sheet has been replaced and in its hiding place. Please ensure you rehide well to prevent this getting muggled again
Spent a while searching for this one but came up short. See now on the logs that it was away for maintenance, will have to back and track it down.
Found the disturbed cache but no contents, replaced in appropriate position with Eco & Rev, shame it was disturbed!
TFTC. We searched for quite some time on this one and then the empty cache container was located a little way down the hill. Did not have a new log but replaced to as close to GZ as we could. However it may not be in the correct postion but very close by.
Looked everywhere under and around every bit of wood, even climbed into the crater. Oh well, another time perhaps
Oh dear, its our day for climbing things and not finding them...GPS all over the place and very windy...we searched based on the hint without much luck. Just read through the logs and prehaps we need to reinvestigate with clearer heads.
For a 1.5 it was for us too difficult. Maybe it was cause we climbed from the rascal cache up and were still a bit dizzy of the way up.
Remember doing another cache nearby to this one and this was a great excuse to return. Bracing wind at the top and very nearly got blown away, not just by the views. Thanks for the cache
Very appropriate to have this one as the last find in this cluster. Strong wind today almost lost the log but no.. she's all good and back in place. t4tc
Last time i was here there where a pair of muggles on the bench and i had to leave. This time more muggles but he moved on quickly. The search took some time the location the gps gave me made no sense so i just searched every where, at the cache location the GPS gave me 10m from the published coordinates. Ironically, as this is Pigeon Hill, a magpie tried to attack me on the way down.
Followed the way others had come up, but did a bit a zig zagging, to fit enough to take the direct route. There were muggles sitting on the seat admiring the view, so we s onthe platform to ponder where cache might be, pondering was spot on, first place we looked! TFTC
Happened to be up the hill and thought it might be a good place for a cache... And there it was. SL albeit with a dead match as had no pen. TFTC.

Not really a mountain challenge like Mr G is used to but in this weather he was grateful of that. Nice quick find at GZ, TFTC

2nd go at this one. Co-ords a bit out so had to think outside the circle and in the end an obvious hide. TFTC!!!
Thought we would give this a third and final try after meeting the cache owner and his lovely family at a recent social event. They explained the clue which helped us finally put this one to rest. Quite a quick find in the end. Lovely day although as always quite windy at the top. TFTC
Wow! What a spot!! After getting the one remaining cache I needed for the 100/100 challenge at the bottom of the hill, I decided to get this one too, as it was just a short 'stroll' up the hill... haha, stroll... more like climbing Mt Everest! I came straight up the steepest part, and it was pretty slippery, but meh! It was god fun times! And some good exercise.
Upon arriving at the GZ, I was amazed by the view! So pretty!! Nice being so far away from the city centre! - So much green, and small houses and everything!
The cache was then an easy find. In the first place I looked actually too! It even had 2 snails on it! Haha.
TFTC!!

First place I looked. Im glad I didnt read the hint until after the find as I dont think it would have pointed me to the cache!! Thanks.
After mission success at nearby Secret Island, YuGeo4 and I made the much easier climb to the top of the mountain for this one, which was quickly spotted after checking a few other possible hiding spots. Dropped a geocoin. TFTC!!!
9221… Trekked up the mountain with FMZ… guess he’s the king of the mountain as he laid his hands on the cache first. Nice views as always. TFTC.
It is time to go out East this morning picking up a few caches on the way.
You certainly get a good view of the area from up here.
Swapped TBs.
Cheers for the cache.

OK so that's where it was! Surprised I didn't spot it first time, but light better today. Coords a touch off. Dropped GC & Picked up TB. T4TC
Great hide in unexpected place. cache sense set in and soon had it in hand when I, for once, decieded that I wouldn't over complicate things, TFTC
Out again with the Future Finder for a spot of caching. Another trek up Pigeon Mountain. This time without rain, but with blusterly wind. Altered the angle of ascent, this time, to keep the future finder out of the wind. This lead to a super quick find. Spotted the obvious GZ on approach and found the cache in the first place I checked.
However, GPSr thought GZ was some 9m away still. That might be due to the weather/location of course. Still, there is a trig marker on the summit--with known coords. With use of a tape measure and compass some extremely accurate coords could be quickly produced.
Cheers for the cache, the great location and, most importantly, the exercise!

Out and about with the Future Finder making some finds before the rain sets in. Unfortunetly, this was were the rain really set in, just as we arrived at the summit. Any serious attempt at finding the cache was soon abandoned. I will say however, haven climbed up here in the wet, that the 1.5 terrain rating seems very much on the low side.
See you on the trails!
See you on the trails!
2nd time and even with using Leons coords (which took us the probable spot we thought last time) it was not to be found. However- there is evidence of a lot of GC activity around. the underneath of all the stones have been dug out, but no sign of the cache
Checked Cache 4.30pm this evening, all is good. Cache is still hidden well. I noticed that the GPS signal seems to vary at the top of the mountain. three seperate GPS Units (4 including Kiwileon's) all get a slightly different co-ord at GZ. But realistically there is not many places to hide a cache up the top of Pigeon Mountain, this is at the summit!
Spent ages looking for this but ambiguous clue and windy day meant we went home empty handed. Lot's of moved rocks around GZ!!
Still took me a wee while to find this one, even with the new hint.
Took a few new coords, hopefully this will narrow down the search for future finders.

The King of the Mountain is still the King of the Mountain. A very tough FTF to conquer!
Made 2 lengthy attempts to find the cache before contacting the CO as we had literally scoured the entire mountain without success. Back very early this morning before work to finally discover the cache. TFTC, and another FTF , and the 3 efforts to huff and puff to GZ.

Spent 30mins looking for this cache very early this morning. No luck with a find before reluctantly having to depart for work.
We spent quite some time here this morning but to no avail.
