In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.Staying nearby, so grabbing a few around this area. Enjoying the views of all these back country roads and some great old houses like this one. The co-ords had me up in the bush, but was found just off the road in the obvious place. The barking dog brought the house owner out, so explained what I was doing, for future reference. What a great old place and nice to see it is still in use. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

While visiting Sheffield for a few days we decided to go out exploring the local area.
Our travels today took us past this cache.
What a ripper old place to have on your property, it looks as though it's been there for quite a while.

I had a day caching in the Sheffield / Devonport / Latrobe area after dropping off a friend to do a camera course in Sheffield. Only one thing that needed to happen was a quick drop into the Devonport airport office to fix a small internet issue. The day was overcast with occasional showers, although some showers were heavier with some ice in them.

All logs were signed July 22 as I forgot the date at the start of the day and continued this way throughout (and for those people checking, I will log all for todays date on the web site)

I had a little trouble finding this cache, but eventually uncovered the cache. There was a drone flying around which was distracting

Weekend away at Cradle gave us one out of three great weather days .... the other two could only be described at "atmospheric". Planned to visit some caches on the way home today. First one was leech ridden, 2nd to 4th all clear. Launched the geoPathfinder down Robyns Way through some beautifully maintained eucalyptus plantation, and wonderfully surprised to hit Mason's Rd beside an equally beautifull oasis property with magnificent parklike grounds. At GZ we found someone actually in residence at the Bush Palace. Considering the proximity to the cache, we used our discretion to leave it for another day. But thanks so much 2y'stassies for directing us through some unexplored territory.

I camped at Lake Barrington the night before. As I has arrived late to Cradle Mt yesterday I went back earlier today to hopefully reach the top. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as good as yesterday, strong winds and the temperature changing from hot to cold quite frequently, so I only went so far up.
This palace has started to let in the caravans now.
Thanks for the cache.

We enjoyed our detour down to this cache, and we exited via Robyn's Way to get back out to the main road.
A quick find, thanks 2y's for the maintenance.

Hi, and thanks for the cache, found with AlbyDangles on a caching weekend based at Gowrie Park, after transporting some Venturer Scouts to their statewide 'Venture' at Arm River Camp last night.
2040hrs
Thanks for the adventure.
Cheers, EPs.

Another wonderful day in the north west of Tasmania, exploring and geocaching along the way.

Definitely the sort of place we would never have visited if it was not for geocaching. A scramble up the hill proved unnecessary to locate the cache. It was a bit more tricky than it should have been ,so happy to finally have it in hand. TFTC

Cache replaced for the CO as it was drenched.

Today I decided to head out into the country side, around the back of Sheffield and Devonport. With such a great day with the weather it was nice to collect a few caches.

Spending some quality time in Tasmania, revisiting special places and exploring new ones. This was a nice find off the main road. We didn’t want to assume the place was abandoned as the curtain was pulled back, the place was tidy and there was power connected. Probably cleaner and dryer inside the cottage than the cache. Thanks for highlighting this pretty area. What a gem.

Taking a drive around after a wet walk at Cradle Mountain to dry off and find a few caches. It’s been a long time since this was last visited and it was as wet as we had been earlier! We managed to sign the smaller log sheet in its own bag and poured some water out of the cache. Could sure use some TLC - just like the poor Bush Palace. SL. TFTC.

After a fun day of exploring the 'west bank',
there was one last cache showing up on me GPS radar Smile
So off I headed down the dirt road to find the "Love Shack" Big Grin

*If you see a faded sign at the side of the road that says,*
*"4 kilometres to the Love Shack"*
*Love Shack, yeah, yeah !!* Smile
*I'm headin' down the Masons Highway.*
*Lookin' for the love getaway !!*
*Headed for the love getaway.* [:X]

What I found was a run down little olde shack at the side of the road Smile
Might make a good love shack ??
You could always heat up some rocks and cook a lobster Razz
*Yeah !! Rock lobster .. .oooh !! Yeah !!*
*"Tin rooooooof ... Rusted !!"*

The cache was a bit rustic too Smile
At least it's staying dry in its hidey hole [^]

Staying at the air bnb mentioned and couldn't help myself to see if there was a cache nearby. The little house was so cute and on the way in I said wow let's take a pic and say that's the air bnb
Returned to successfully find the cache however was too wet to sign log. Tftc

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
We had a look around the old shack and were just about to get down to the business of our search when a neighbor pulls up to see what we are up to. We had to confess. He had never heard of geocaching and so we filled him in on the game. We found the cache as he looked on. He was very interested. We had a great chat before replacing the cache and bidding farewell.
Thanks for an interesting experience robtas!

Hi robtas
This cache is a ripper!!!
You are right, the tree is older than the hut but neither are as old as 'OldSaint."
The cache was easily found and Sainted at 1210hrs.
I had a closer look at the shack and was intrigued to find Chinese Year Signs hanging on the veranda. Being born in the Year of the Tiger I looked for that one but didn't see it in my haste.
Thanks for bringing me out to look at this 'Old Love Shack', sorry the "BUSH PALACE."
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Found this one after leaving Cradle Mountain, and we were headed towards Stanley. Cool old hut and we saw loads of wallabies on the sides of the road on the drive down.

Day 5 of our escape from the NT trip, seeking some relief from the tropical build up

Quaint little shack. There was a sign on the road for the BB, the Love something, does that make this the love shack?

What would a Real Estate Agent make of this Bush Palace - "relaxing summer residence" (the gaps in the walls would ensure that the interior does not get too warm), "rural retreat", "renovators delight", "ready for the connection of services" (at least there is an earth wire running from where the meter box once resided), "gently sloping land" - the mind boggles at the possible range of clichés that could be used to describe this property. Like others, we had a peek in through the windows and it would appear that no-one has taken up the option of country living for some time. It is certainly set in a lovely area on a quiet back road. The cache was a quick find in an obvious location but when we were standing at the cache, our GPS indicated that we were still 12m from the cache. the log book was a little damp - not sure if it was just cold or wether some moisture was starting to penetrate the container seal. Unfortunately we didn't have a plastic bag to give the log a second line of protecetion - maybe the next finder may be able to help. TFTC robtas.

Strange little place. Looking in the windows one would expect the shack was in use but the vines gave it away. A quick find then on a little further down the road to explore. Thanks.
