It is a big box the plants next to it are spicky watch out(a lot of stuff in the box)
After a birthday lunch at the pub we headed here to walk off some of the calories. Quite the adventure over many fallen trees in the last 20m. Great find but sadly we found ourselves in a cloud so no views. TFTC and the super walk we really enjoyed it.
Tftc. The walk was a nice change from cliffs and wind swept coastal heath. Lovely mossy rocks and logs. Great views.
Easy find. The cache was left out in the open but return to its original spot at the bottom of the Gum.
This walk was like forest bathing. The bush was so peaceful, at times our footfalls sounded like we were walking on something hollow, the cool air had a beautiful clean, earthy smell to it and once at GZ, well…. the view was breathtaking.
On this day 3 years ago I became a member of the geocaching family . I can’t believe I have nearly found and signed 3,500 caches in 5 different Australian states, met some amazing people, learnt about geology, history, mathematics, code solving, travelled thousands of kilometres and still enjoying the challenges of finding a piece of paper, in a container, to sign.

Find 10 of 15 during a day spent on Bruny Island, then on top of Kunanyi.
Great instructions meant we knew what we were in for when setting off for this unloved cache, although "slightly inclined" and "well marked" are maybe stretching the truth somewhat. The last 40m path is currently marked with some pink ribbons though. Great views from GZ.
TFTC TeamSwampy!

Nice view at the top, gave us a good expectation about the other parts of the island we haven't discovered yet ! Can't wait to see it. Tftc
Came back today with Mrs H and geoson. A nice walk and no helicopters preventing us from reaching GZ this time! Great views and a quick find. TFTC!

Got to within 30 metres of this cache and there was a frickin helicopter in the way!!! Headed back down to the car and was almost back when I heard it take off. Stuff it, let's head back up again... Far out! Workers were there still doing stuff. Will need to return, again...
Staying on Bruny with gridge98 caching was definitely on the itinerary! I’ve been to Bruny but never up Mt Mangana. Thanks for the great walk we even had some snow and absolutely amazing views.
Today nettieknows and I headed from the accommodation down to the light house before detour back via Mt mangana for a nice walk to the summit. Despite the freezing cold weather, snow and intense wind a fun afternoon was had.
We parked and off we set a nice slow incline up the hill to GZ, as we almost got there, it started to snow. Pretty amazing really. We got to the top and not much of a view here till we made our way over to the cache and got a much nicer view and pretty cool spot. Cache found and is all good

Out and about caching today, we decided to tackle this one. As we drove in the muggles said there was no view from the top, but we found that the cache led us to a very good look out. A bit cloudy but excellent views of southern Bruny.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After finding the Moviestar Monster this felt like it may be pushing the day but it really was an absolutely magnificent walk, we saw a beautiful tiger snake in the way and the views at the end were worth every second. Thanks Swampy. Fave from me
Wow, just wow!!! So grateful for a cache here, without any signage that there’s just this breathtaking view from here, you would think you came all the way to just see a solar panel!
Enjoyed the walk - and the snake... now better getting back to the ferry!!!

Thanks for the cache Swampy.
This was a great walk to do on a very windy day.... nice and sheltered in a nice shady forest. We passed a few family groups on the way in and out.
Thanks for the great description about how to get to the cache, great views, and a nice quick find. Found with RLD4963 (who found it on a previous trip).

Hello TeamSwampy thank you for the cache
I had never been up here before but driven past many times.
It is a lovely uneven track that works it way up through the rain forest.
Even with the low cloud and the threat of rain we mainly got wet from the drips coming down from the canopy and the occasional shower.
As neither of us had the spoiler image we spent a lot longer searching for the caches than we should have.
As for the views there wasn't any today.
Today I was caching with EeePees on Bruny Island. The weather didn't look that great when I left home but turned out to be an ok day.
As usual caching with EeePees was another great day.

hi swampy, and thanks for the cache; found today with AlbyDangles on our most excellent Bruny escapade, caught the first ferry over this morning, and dodged most of the weather.
unfortunately, the low cloud up top prevented views, which was disappointing; but the walk up was thru some exceptional rainforest and was simply great!
thanks for the detailed description, although it turned out that the actual hint was of no use to us with no reception to do so!
nonetheless, the cache was eventually found.
spotted the top of the older tower from GZ, which only served to disorientate me as I thought it was the newer one!
as we headed back down the track, we detoured in to take a closer look at the other tower.
Thanks for the reason to finally do this amazing walk.
cheers, EPs

Great find! Thanks for the directions past the solar cells. Definitely worth going the extra few metres. Cache and log in great condition. Worth the walk for the view. Tftc
Wow that is truly magnificent. Thanks for bringing a container up here so we only have to bring water. I only found the way in after I had got to the tree, this stuff is thick.tftc
Tassie Trip Day 80 - Well it was a walking day today and after a good nights rest the knee was repaired enough to carry the day so a couple of cache were collected today one was a lovely walk and one a driveby.
This was a wonderful place to take the time to enjoy the day and the area in which this wonderful walk took me. First went the wrong way the went the other way and eventually found the all important place of the cache it was a very tough 2.5 to get the reward.
Thanks Swampy for showing us this wonderful place.

#753, 2018-11-05 at 08:05, Wow. If it weren't for this cache I would have been very disappointed at the summit. I would not have seen the trail and the great view. TFTC.
After a very easy cache along the road it was time to tackle this one. The biggest question was what to take with us. I emptied a lot of weight out of my pack and just took a jumper and water.
We kept a pretty good pace for two unfit middle aged blokes and broke out into the clearing on the top in just over thirty minutes. We found the trig and cut off base separately before heading on to the cache. At the end of the track we stopped and stared in amazement at the stunning views all around. Wow! We scooted over the GZ and found the cache tucked nicely away thanks to membsec.
What a great location swampy, I would never have bothered coming here without geocaching so thanks so much. This cache and location earns another favourite point from me.
It was a toss-up between Bruny Island and Mt Field today. In the end Bruny Island won out, although a few times during the day I muttered ‘should have gone to Mt Field.’
Stainless steel rat picked me at 6.15am with the plan of coffee at the ferry terminal and over on the 7.30am ferry. We arrived a little earlier than expected and drove straight on to the 7am ferry. That was great except we’d not had coffee! [|)]
We headed south, once we hit the island, to beat the tourists stopping briefly for Alonnah five-0 for SSR to find, and then at the shop we grabbed coffee and sandwiches from a couple of nutcase women who obviously thought their continued sarcasm was funny. This kind of behaviour happens a lot when I’m out with SSR!
After a bit of investigation of some new caches, we decided a 5km paddle in the blow-up boat was just too much, so made a beeline for the lighthouse at Cape Bruny and from there worked our way back north, catching the 5.30pm ferry back.

Well this was the standout cache of the day i must say, with a bit of a walk to GZ but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
Knowing swampy gets all over the place where other humans can only dream of getting to, this one was a walk in the park by Swampy standards.
After a steady walk taking us up around 120m of elevation we arrived at the trig point and spent a bit of time searching it out before moving on to the cache, well WOW what amazing views we were treated too as we broke out of the bush, after enjoying these views we went and found the cache, glad to see a good sized container in good condition, I don't normally do swaps but found the a bag had a lot of coins in it so I swapped some small value overseas coins for a ready to go bison cache i had in my bag.
All up it took us 88 minutes from car and back, without us phaffing about enjoying ourselves it would have been 20 minutes less, but the time at the top is what caching is all about and well worth it.
Thanks for the great cache it earns a fav point from me.
Myself and Goose had talked about a Bruny Island trip for a bit now and with the publication of some new caches the other day the trip was brought forward in our caching schedule.
So today I was our of the house before 6am and ready to pick the goose up at 6.15, with a good drive down to the ferry we just made it on to the 7am sailing, being the last car on.
After a full day making our way round the island, getting some nice finds and a few DNF's well not DNF's we gave up on a few before we event got to GZ, we managed to get a space on the 5.30 ferry back and were home before 7 for once
Thanks to all the CO for the caches.

Decided to come to the island as the weather looked great and we wanted to visit the lighthouse. We had seen this one on each of our previous visits but always ignored it due to limited time. This time we made sure we had time. After our venture last Thursday, we thought this one would be a walk in the park. Think our legs are still protesting after last week but we certainly enjoyed the views. The cache was out in the open so when we replaced it we put more cover over it! So worth the walk for the views. A favourite point from us!

Wow what a view! Saw a sleeping tiger snake on the side of the path on my way up. Hope i make it back down ok on my lonesome! TFTC!
What an awesome walk up Mt Mangana through the rainforest, with great views from the top. TFTC Swampy
After riding my bike over the ridge this morning (Lunawanna-Mt Mangana-Adventure Bay-Alonnah-Lunawanna), I came back by car a couple of hours later and walked to the top.
A very pleasant walk through cool forest, followed by the disappointment of no views from the summit, followed by wonder at the views from GZ. Rain on the Southern Ranges restricted the view a little, but it was still amazing.
Thanks!

Decided to have a family "adventure" to get this cache this afternoon and what an adventure it was! We took our 2 small children with us and a 1.5 hr return journey became more like 2 hours. Not sure the terrain rating of only 2.5 is quite right, especially right at GZ. The top was completely clouded in mist so couldn't visually locate gz using the images but luckily Mr SudsyNZ trusted the GPS and found the cache. The most exciting part of our adventure however was almost stepping on a tiger snake which was very slowly moving to go under a rock. Our first sighting of a snake in the wild. Suffice to say the girls were both excited and scared after that! TFTC. Added a favourite point for the memorable adventure.
Lovely walk with a bonus view. Found the cache easily and enjoyed looking out over the water.
Found during my first trip to Tasmania - a 10-day sight-seeing trip, enjoying the natural scenery while caching along the way.
Spending the day on Bruny Island was a highlight, and this cache was naturally a 'high point' .
We made our way in the late afternoon and enjoyed a stunning sunset from the top.
Then it was time to find the cache. Despite the cache notes I couldn't find any resemblance of a track so I bush-bashed my way and eventually ran into solid bush with 20m still to go. No way through this thick brush... and I was about to consider a DNF when PacGirl shouted that there was a path to the cache. How did I miss that ?!
Thanks TeamSwampy for the cache, which was one of the highlights of our 2500km roadtrip .

'STRAYA DAY FIND! Great view along our speedy 6 day motorcycle camping adventure. TFTC
Plan for the summer. Hike, 4wd and Geocache around Tasmania. It will be a great adventure. After many trips touring around Tasmania i have finally made it up into the North West corner. It is great to see this trail of caches and drive that i has been made. We spent 2 1/2 days travelling around. Seeing all the sights and collecting the caches. Thanks
A 10 day trip to Tasmania with a lot more caching then initially expected, but I enjoyed every minute of it! This was one of the many caches I found and enjoyed. Can't wait to get back here and do it all over again, there are so many great places in Tasmania. unfortunately drizzly and foggy weather today, wich meant no views!

Was debating about whether or not to do this walk at the end of a big day but the promise of a cache at the end tipped the decision. A bit tricky getting to the cache but the views were worth it. TFTC.
Thank you for the cache! We would never have seen the great panoramic view had we not been searching for it. Introducing my Bruny Island Ultramarathon Relay Team to caching today! It didnt disappoint!

Mr W spent Friday doing caches while on a bowling weekend to the island. A great spot for a cache with fantastic views. Deserves a favourite. TFTC,
Had a few days on Bruny beautiful weather, we both really enjoyed this bush walk to get the cache. Fantastic views at the top. The Cheetah loved the contents of the cache she took a soft toy whale and sleeping with it now .Thanks TeamSwampy for bringing us to the top of MT. Mangana. TFTC.
Needing to get some much needed exercise in after the rain, this short walk was just perfect !
The weather was still and all the vegetation was green and fresh - we only met one other group on the track !
After extricating the cache from the typical Swampy placement we enjoyed the views over toward the south part of the channel before heading back.
Thanks for the cache, Swampy, the first time was fun, the second even better !

TeamSwampy, this is an excellent cache! The fact that you have to work for it, it's an interesting and beautiful location, the view is astounding, and the cache is full of amazing goodies (none of which I could take, 'cause I forgot to bring treasure...darn it.) I liked this cache so much that I'm giving it a precious favourite point. Ding! Thanks for such a great cache!
Great find, bit trick to get to gz, but there you go.kids didn't grumble too much either, so all is good. Antpadgem sydney.
A great view and I felt some achievement finding this cache. The geospouse had decided to remain with the car and was not happy when I got back: "where have you been? Do you know what the time is? I watched a pademelon making a nest. Etc". The track up was very soggy as was the road to the car park. The geospouse was driving and thought it was slippery and dangerous. Anyway I enjoyed the walk. TFTC
Finally got to do this walk and find the cache. Been here once before around 20 years ago (omg how time flys). Looked for a while in the wrong spot before realising that a particular photo indicates the right tree to go for. Then an easy quick find. Generous large cache with some great swappables in it. Kids had a good look but no swaps. Thanks TeamSwampy.
Logging this very belatedly. Found on a nice walk to the top of the hill during our Bruny Island experience! TFTC!
This was our 2nd cache find in the caching run & we found it at 14:46
So this now makes our total find count 5904.

We decided to head over to Bruny, on the spur of the moment. Initially we just went down to the ferry terminal to "sightsee". As we had the correct change for the trip and the ferry was waiting, we decided to head over. Next time we will make sure that we have sufficient fuel for the round trip it's rather expensive over there. (Well initially we weren't going to make the trip and had planned to refuel at another spot.)
Groan! it took us over two hours to do the round trip
"A short slightly inclined bushwalk" is perhaps understating the trip, nevertheless the view was worth the effort.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Under 2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Bracelet

Hi Swampy
Second time into the area, but first time for this cache.
No injuries acquired this trip!
At GZ I heard voices in the nearby "control shed."
The find was quick and easy, unlike your first cache here.
Logged the cache at 1459hrs
The views are fantastic at this site.
TFTC and cheers

A hard ride up the hill from Adventure bay followed by a pleasant walk. Only disappointment was to find that Lunawanna wasclosed and we had to ride on to Allona for a drink.
This is the most wonderful walk with just beautiful views! I award 10 favourite points to this one! We were initially a bit cautious about the access road up to the start of this but it turned out to be reasonable with care (even in our 2wd hire car) and a nice windy day ensured a dry road. As we set off for the top, we admired all the vegetation, so different from our walk yesterday to Cape Queen Elizabeth. Looks a bit like "middle earth" country here
The walk is really easy going with no steep sections and the walking was great as we were easily able to keep up a steady pace. Once at the top, we had a bit of a look around the solar cells and made our way to GZ, following the really good directions in the cache description. WOW! As it was a gorgeous spring day, we could see for miles in all directions. Strike-a-light went a bit crazy taking heaps of photos as it was so lovely.
Then we got down to cache-finding business. At the foot of the dead swamp gum...hmm. What's a swamp gum look like when it's dead?? We followed a fallen tree along a bit and spied a small snake which slithered off into the rocks nearby. Ah-ha! Not the fallen tree but the still-standing one just up there Cache found and log signed.
We then returned to the solar calls and sat on a rock to have lunch for a while. It was so lovely I didn't want to leave but we eventually made our way back down the track, enjoying it all over again.
Top cache, top walk and top views! Thanks TeamSwampy, as you might have guessed, we loved it!

Found with blossom* after a top walk through some lovely forest. The views from GZ are terrific and we took quite a few photos as it was a lvoely clear day and we could see for miles. TFTC TeamSwamp, we really enjoyed this cache, the views, the walk, the forest and the pcinic spot for our lunch
Pleasant walk. Very enjoyable. Reached approximate GZ location and was disappointed as the fog covered the view, but luckily for us as we searched the slippery area the fog lifted and we got to enjoy the breathtaking views.
The entrance road was closed off to 2 wheel drives by Forestry. Could not access the area given the big rains over the last few days. Disappointed :/

Our second FTF. When we were looking for caches on Bruny Island, I said that there was one that was still waiting for a find! Dad was skeptical. (It's not that often that you get a weeks gap between publishings and FTFs, Let alone a week!)
Anyway, dad wanted to go to Adventure Bay, and this cache was on the way. Mum and I got out to do the walk. After a while we reached the end of the path and I spotted the trig point, knowing the cache was not too far away.
Finding the cache got delayed by 5 mins, because we had to take in the spectacular views. I knew roughly where the cache would be before we set off, so it was a quick grab. Took the glass cube with lady inside. Left lion shaped watergun.
TFTC. +1 fav, Photos will be uploaded on the 15th.
