DNF at 3:23 PM.
Spent ages looking around the trees. We thought that it was a hanging bison type of hide, but couldn't find anything, not even on the ground. We later learned that night that Skippy, Liz & Bruce also couldn't find it.

A quick trip to Stanthorpe for the traditional but a little early Xmas in July event for 2015. I took the opportunity to tackle the caches along the once was Mt Lindsay Highway but is now Mt Lindsay Road.

I had travelled the dirt section while at the mega to get to Bald Rock but that was just about sight-seeing. Today was different. I saw the sunrise at Amberley, bypassed the traffic jam at Aratula and made a beeline for Liston and the nearby Undercliife Falls. I headed south to Tenterfield and tackled everything along the way, before heading north to Robins Nest and the event and the overnight stay.

Not sure I would want to be out here on when the moon was up and the sun was down.

Today the sun was up and it was a lovely day to visit the falls.

Thanks for placing this cache 2 shadows

Today we did some post Mega caching finding 83 and 2 DNFs caches. Our aim today was to try and finish the caches on the eastern side of Stanthorpe to Tenterfield and return. We enjoyed the journey that the cache locations took us to.

We appreciate the time and effort gone into placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

06-Apr-15
Found by Mary & David, in company with Alansee and Phetlern (signed as MAP), at 1040. On our last day of caching with friends, we headed southward along the Mt Lindesay Road towards Tenterfield. A great day of interesting caches, waterfalls and historic locations No man there today, or green cheese either. Our thanks to 2 shadows.

Following the fun and games of the Qld Mega, our caching today took on a different focus. With Alansee and maccamob, we headed in a south easterly direction from Stanthorpe. To continue our conservation of log space in those horrible micro's, we signed as MAP. There was time to enjoy the scenery, visit the waterfalls, read the notes on the cache pages more carefully which gave us a greater appreciation of why caches have been placed in particular locations.

Our thanks to 2 shadows for bringing us here.

Supposed to be a blood moon with an eclipse tonight but with the amount of cloud cover, I doubt we will see it, but we will see some magnificent fireworks at the Qld Mega.
I love the huge moons we get at home. It feels closer and when you are travelling, it seems to guide you.
The cache was found after a bit of searching and toing and froing and no cows to watch me.

Apologies for the extremely late log. Went on our annual camping trip to Boonoo Boonoo with friends and completed Basket Swamp the day before. Everyone else climbed Bald Rock (the hard way) on the day we found this cache. We decided not to this time as we were flying out on an overseas trip and decided not to risk an injury to either of us so close to our flight date. So did something safer and captured the rest of the caches along this road. On return from our trip, I discovered these on my GPS found list. Found this cache during the day, after exploring the bottom of the beautiful falls and but imagine the moon rising over head. Thanks 2 Shadows

Heading out to the falls today, it was great to have a few extra caches on the way.

Thanks 2 shadows

No full moon for us but I can imagine it would have been magnificent. Country full moons always seem to be so much brighter Razz.
We were searching in an area that really didn't look right. Sure there were geo trails but I think they were more rabbit trails rather than geo trails Surprised - the thorny blackberry vines are a rabbits paradise but a cacher's nightmare [xx(].
Eventually I came in from a different angle and found the cache nice and dry and happy. TFTC.

07-Jun-13
Even after we'd found the cache, the GPSr was convinced we hadn't [8]. Well, we signed the log while it fretted and managed to not get wrapped up in the lantana. Thank you to "The Drovers" for replacing the damaged cache.

21-May-13
Out for a drive in the bush, found some good caches while seeing some great sights.
Rock cache damaged, log wet and unreadable. Replaced cache with tube and new log.

With the moon waxing gibbous there was no sign of it late morning Sad
That did not detract from the cache chase though Big Grin
After 45 minutes of poking around at GZ I could not find any sign of a cache Red Face
Aw c'mon it has to be here !!
Eventually commonsense ruled and I declared the DNF and wandered off to view the waterfall Razz

Of course I had to stop again on the drive back out from the falls.
The thinking time had done me good.
The clues at GZ shouted at me that this cache was hidden in a certain way.
I was just not looking closely enuff Red Face

Sure enough on my return visit to GZ I found the cache in less than a minute down on hands and knees Big Grin

TFTC, it almost got the better of me Wink

Here from Canada, doing a bit of caching as we explore Australia....
We are in the area staying with some very good friends, they introduced us to Aussie Liahona who took us out for some caching fun as they did a maintenance run. This cache was one of many on a day of great fun.

Enjoyed doing your hide 2 shadows Big Grin!

Geo girly dismissed this area as nothing here Mum but I found it. Log signed and what did we do....... yep filled up on berries. geo girly was in heaven. not moon or sun even today, even the cows didn't care what we were doing, they were a long long way away but they had left their calling cards and I think we found most of the ones on the road, something the old geomobile hasn't seen for a few months Twisted

thanks for the caches 2 shadows we have enjoyed our morning .

This was our 15th cache in our caching run today.
(So this is our 5132nd total find.)

Today we decided that we would travel from The Summit down through the back roads to Tenterfield.
We thoroughly enjoyed the drive - and the caches.

(A lot of our logs will be the same today, so please accept our apologies for that.)

We didn't see the moon today.

Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks 2 shadows for the hunt today.

Cache # 2080, Found @11:05:00 AM.

First thought was, how simple and obvious is this. How wrong we were. A step back to re-assess the situation and we soon had the cache in hand.

Out and about in the area with Captain Terror, we pulled up at this one next. Dodging cow landmines here there and everywhere on to GZ. (There had been unpleasantness involving landmines at another cache [xx(]

I got to GZ and started my search - but then I noticed a familiar item. That fits in well doesn't it? The cache is in excellent condition. No moon for us - being afternoon and all Big Grin TFTC 2 shadows Smile

28-Jul-12
I guess being a few months late and mid afternoon, we should have expected no super moon at GZ. Fangsoki and I had to weave our way between the cow pats en route to GZ. We commenced our hunt and I was checking some spots when fang's eagle eye spotted something a bit different. As he was investigating that he noted something else and i think the word 'Cheeky' was what he used to describe it. We added our names to the log and onward for some Undercliff action. Danced and dodged my way through the gathered crowd and their calling cards. Geeesh I've never come across such an inquisitive mob of cattle.

I was suckered in to a likely looking hiding spot. Gotcha thought I....it was not to be. I stepped back and there it was. A cunning little hide.

Cache dry and in good condition

Thanks 2 shadows Smile

Left home very early this morning and 2.5hours later I was in Warwick ready to begin my 4 day adventure from here to the border and other areas down this way. Did not want to push myself. Drove a total of 485klm today and gave caching away at 1800 just on dark. 45 finds for the day.

Found at 1558. Good hide. Cows were not much help. Wondering why the replacement log. Will ask the question when we meet. TFTC 2 shadows

Big Grin FTF Big Grin at 9:46am. With four new caches out, and this one near two of ours so we felt a connection with it, we just had to attempt the first to find. Got up super early and headed out from home when it was still dark. On the car radio on our way we heard it had been 5 degrees celsius at Applethorpe this morning. We came through there on our way here. By the time we were searching for this cache though it was nice and warm. Cache was located and it's hide appreciated. Thanks for the new caches 2 shadows. We had a really fun time on our adventure this morning. Brought some trackables to visit.
