Great fun one with the kids but glad we had Geo Dad hunting with us today to carry mr 2 back up tftc
This was a family outing with my 2 brothers, 2 nieces, my cousin, her husband and our dog. They loved it! Thank you.
Great lookout, and no muggles around due to rain.
Took a while to find the cache, and did so by accident. Unfortunately the clouds parted as I reached the car park, so will have to return another day.

Was here last year and couldn't find this after searching what I thought was everywhere. Found it within 5 minutes of starting this time.

Did not find due to way too many muggles visiting this area. Perhaps need to reconsider a new location for this cache.
walked along to the look out. Is that the sea out there? Amazing views.
Did you know that if you burn pieces of Grass tree trunk it will keep the mozzies away?
All good here, TB's visit.

Has anyone found since the fire went thru? We spent quite a bit of time searching the gz but I'm wondering if maybe the cache went up in flames?
This was a must visit while in town, having failed to get to the top on my last visit to Rocky. I arrived just before 5pm and came across a couple from Germany. We got chatting and it turned out they had been in Brissy for the last 5 months, not making their way up to Cairns for a few weeks. I asked if they had heard of Geocaching as it very big in Germany... Yes, yes we have one replied... Excellent I thought, I can get into the hunt without fearing for the containers safety... [^]
I explained that I had been brought to the lookout to look for a cache and wandered around a little trying to find it. They wished me good luck and headed off to chase the sunset at another lookout... Shortly after their departure, I secured the find in a likely spot and etched my name in the log. The container was dropped back in place and I took off back along the path to the car.
Back at the top, I decided to head off to the other car park and take in the sunset from the other side. I arrived at another lookout to find the same German couple armed again with the camera. Did you find it they asked. Yep, I sure did...
Moral of the story for the previous hunter of this cache, if in the company of only a couple of muggles, sometimes asking whether they have heard of the game can be very handy. Even if they haven't, it is unlikely that they will try and remove the container... They might just get curious and try it for themselves...
Cheers Dooghan.

Noticed that the CO said he had never seen anyone here. Haha. We were visiting Rocky for two days. Decided to go to the mountain and thought I would look for this one. This was the seventh one in the 2 days and the seventh "did not find". Disaster. Got to this one and there were 2 visitors from Germany admiring the view. As they were about to leave, 4 visitors from Japan arrived. Then another group of about 10 arrived. There were now 17 people milling around. This just had to be another didn't find. Going home to Brissy with no success.
Tried to find but at 0m it was no where to be found. Kids with us and got ratty so had to leave.
Did some sight seeing whilst on a short trip to Rocky. Nice easy walking track to the lookout where the cache was hiding. Tftc
Great hiding location, found this one on a very overcast day as can be seen in the photo.

Great lookout. Thanks to the youth project for making it accessible, and the CO for bringing us here. The cyclones of recent months have caused much damage up here to the trees, and the undergrowth is being taken over by Lantana and cobblers pegs - in fact there are more cobblers pegs than grass trees! Mt Archer is NOT as pretty as it used to be, unfortunately. Found at 11.00 am on 1st June 2015. TFTC.

It was blowing a gale, it was raining cats and dogs and it was a total white out. Some idiot drove up here dressed in office attire . Oh dear the track seems a little overgrown and I'm not sure I wish to be soaked right through just before I hop on that plane to head home.
Decided, I think wisely not to venture down the path (well where there may once have been a path). I'll be back.

Two out of three ain't bad, but didn't find this one. Whole area much battered by the cyclone, and this one possibly buried deeper than usual.
Came for a ride up on my motorbike and was hoping there was a pencil inside but no luck, photo log instead!
I was told it was impossible to find, but I found it! I am the conqueror!!! (or a super geek.) Michelle Mac
Found what appears to be the hiding spot - a hole in a log with some rocks over it and the perfect size for the container however nothing in it. A detailed search of the area found nothing. Appears someone has taken it.

Did a maintenance run. All ok with the cache. Remember the GPS this time and took a new set of corrdinates. Not a big difference in distance but I'll update them anyway

Ahhh, Mt Archer, guaranteed to provide laughs, and caches galore. Always something new up here, each time you visit. Didn't know this lookout was here. Lots of evidence of wild pig activity along the track.

Found a couple of weeks ago with Jogjakarta. Took a little searching until the obvious place jumped out at us. TFTC.
This took us a little while as the coordinates were a touch out. After a bit of searching I looked in the obvious spot and there it was! TFTC!
Visiting my mum, Nana, and Peter from the US. I was kicked out of the house for two hours and this was my fifth and final stop. After likely breaking a rib at Watching Over and then taking a longish hike to a horse overlook, this was a cakewalk. Views were great! Left a TB. (I see now that I shouldn't have. Sorry. TFTC! [green] Another Brilliant walk, we enjoyed a nice stroll through the bush to the lookout, SPECTACULAR views! It was a relief to have a nice easy one after a terrifying experience finding the other nearby cache! [/green]

Second find today atop Mt Archer. I was convinced this was gone for a while because my GPSr stopped on a tree about 3m before the platform. The 30cm clue caged my brain into a tight search area. Frustrated, I decided to just take pics of the nice views and walk away emptyhanded. Looked in one last final spot (and obvious one once it dawned on me). Yep there it is. TNLNSL TFTC!
found on a trip up to visit a friend in Cawarrall, cache had no pen and unfortunately I didn't bring one ... Maybe taken by the massive wedge tail that was guarding it
Met some nice kangeroos on the way, not sure if they were out caching. Been here before looking for Rockhamptons Rock. This time a little more luck. TFTC.
Nice easy stroll and an easy find, had a bit of a scare when a really big Dog came racing down the track at me and near bowled me, To say I was releaved to see the owner would an understatment
Always enjoy a stroll down to this lookout, and the bonus at the end made it all the more sweet. Tftc.
My 275th cache.
Thank you for a nice hike around Rockhampton and Mt. Arthur.
Regards from Bavaria.

This was a lovely lookout indeed and well worth the 270m walk to get there. I think the foreground vegetation of zamias and eucalypts with the burnt tree add to the overall view. Very nice indeed! TFTC, Dooghan. =^.^=
MrMeccano decided to tackle a few caches on Mt Larcom, and this was first on the list.
Well the views were great looking towards the south![^]
We looked at where the GPSr was pointing and with no luck, and that constant fear of a wriggler! Read Ozibags log and he suggested that he had different co-ords for GZ, and while they were further away they did help me find the cache. While the posted co-ords aren't too bad, you just need to look a little further away for something in a moire obvious spot!
Found with MrMeccano on the Caching in the Hamptons weekend.

Well worthwhile coming. The walk past all those grasstrees and zamias with such a great view at the end brought a smile to my face. Knowing the cache was only 30cm from the track saved any environmental damage and the cache was quickly to hand. Thanks Dooghan
I arrived at the parking area and enjoyed the views from there, then took the walk to the grasstrees lookout, admiring the grasstrees and zamias along the way.
When I arrived at the lookout my GPS was pointing me into the grasstrees and long grass. After my brush with Damn Useless Cache earlier I was a bit leary about snakes in the grass, and stomped around while searching to scare them away (if they were there)
After looking around without success for a while I stood back and thought "where would I hide a cache around here?" - so checked out a likely spot and there it was
The coordinates that worked for me today were: S23 20.413 E150 34.644.

1263. Did the walk to the lookout and found the grass tree cache. Signed log and left geocachers day geocoin. TFTC.
1345hrs. Wow, what a climb in the road up here, and great views. Glad it was only a short walk as the day was warming up. Found cache quickly and returned to the car for more water. Would love to do the other caches in the area but it needs to be cooler. TFTCSL
Found a while ago with The Talent. Mosquitoes were at plague levels.

Good hide. there were a few people there so they thought we were crazy saying stuff like "o its only 3 meters away." TFTC
At last a beautiful sunny day in Rocky. We made the most of it and got out to do a few caches. We particularly enjoyed the long views and walk to this one. A really lovely area.
Thanks to Dooghan.

A gentle stroll after GC35E1 – just as well as we lost the view as the rain moved in. TFTC.
