Sorry about the pen but took pic.
Gonna try finish off this series for the streak.

Catching up with late logs.

Today we were out and about caching with Geoturtle37, Papi4506 & micaparamedic planning an easy day with some sight seeing and some targeted targeted caches that we wanted to get.

Hoping that we would be able to getup here for the mega and having so much time with all our lock downs in Melbourne we concentrated on trying to solve as many puzzles as possible hoping that the borders would open.

Once at gz with this many eyes looking the cache didn't take too long to locate and we added our names to the log before returning everything as found.

To save room in the smaller logs we signed as "The Vics"

Thanks corika for the cache.

Day 11 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.

Today we started the long-haul home. We picked up a few last caches in Townsville on the way out then cached our way South to the Mackay area with Sol de lune and LuckyL10n. It was another long but productive day which included picking up several counties, lots of letterboxes and others in between the intermittent rain. We parted ways with SDL & LL and managed to find a great Caravan Park in Sarina and set up our tents for the last time. We played darts and Trivial Pursuit into the night.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to all the CO’s.

27,832. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.

Day 12 of our Townsville Trek, and we packed up from the Hotel then we managed a few caches around Townsville today before starting the long haul south to home. Met up with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n again and cached together for the day. This was a fun puzzle to solve and to pick up before leaving Townsville. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued along to the next cache on our list.

Thanks corikra !!

We found 000 blue while on our saintly pursuits in FNQ. ...we are glad we have finally made it here.

We have been doing a number of caches with ahomburg and becknmonts on our last day in town

Thanks corikra for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves

#14184; Day fourteen of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Today we set off on our homeward journey. After packing up the geomobile, we collected a few more caches in and around Townsville with fitzy_65 and minniek, before hitting the road, final destination Mackay. Collected a few more caches along the way, including more in the "Armed Services" series south of Mackay before pulling up stumps in Koumala for the night. All caches were found in good order and signed LL, Sdl, f65 and mk or similar. Apologies for the largely generic logs. TFTC corikra Smile

Day 14 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today all about the caches around town.

The mega is over and we are leaving town today for the 6/7 day road trip to get home to Canberra. However, leaving town didn't mean we couldn't grab another 5 or so caches as we made out towards the highway south.

No issues with these ones and our names were soon in the log books....and then it really was time to get the hell out of dodge. Sad but true....

Many thanks again to the CO's of all caches...and hope you've enjoy reading all the logs...cut n past and individual ones.

TheTownsville Mega Event finished but having another week in town to do more caching & sight seeing.
Hubby spent a morning out with geono & pprass to ride the dam wall on their bikes.
After lunch we decided to look for a few caches closer to the caravan park.
Took a little while to hunt down the cache.
Thankyou corikra for placing this cache.

Today's expedition was light on as GLISS! and Nibletricecakes had to spend the morning decamping in readiness for a quick departure after tomorrow's cruise. So it was that Albida33 and I set off in search of caches around town by ourselves.

The puzzle had been solved before we arrived in Townsville but still needed a slight correction of coordinates. Once done it was a quick find and the log was soon signed. TFTC Corikra

MEGA Trip - day 5

Assembled the full MEGATRON crew (bella at waggy, dahumbug, tardis0061, crash2079) but today there was no specific plan other than to grab some more old school caches and a trip up Mt Louisa. Then Mt Stuart to Castle Hill, a truly random day.

After some fishing nearby, it was time to head back to the hotel. But not before grabbing one more for good measure.

During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.

This afternoon, e.gregory1 and I had several hours between our visit to Mega HQ to visit the GPS Maze and Cal's Escape Room, and tonight's Trivia Night, so we decided to stay around the Idalia and Mundingburra areas. An afternoon highlight was the visit to Anderson Botanic Gardens where several "adventurous" tree climbs were completed. We arrived and parked nearby, only to take a short walk to GZ and find the cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks corikra for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Thank you for another of the 000 Series.

--------------------------------------------------------

This cache was found as part of a trip with GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to Far North Queensland for the Townsville Mega. The trip started in Cairns and ended in Mackay, and allowed us to find some ripper caches inbetween.
We managed to complete some of the Breaking Bad cache series until we driven back to the car due to the heat, and the Saint and most of the book series. There were some good variety in both these series which kept them interesting.
One of the highlights (although a low light when removing the mud) was the walk on the salt flats outside Townsville to get the challenge caches
Another highlight was Magnetic island, where other than some great views, we managed to spot two koala's in the wild.
Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache that was part of our trip

16-Apr-22
In the middle of the pole caches we stopped to find this 000 cache. We knew we had to find them all to be able to get the last one and with a missing one (since been replaced) we hadn't really tried to find them all but we were not going to skip it as we were close.
Thanks corikra

A ten day mega trip was arranged with Stainless steel rat and Budgietas. We flew into Cairns and out of Mackay, with the majority of the time in and around Townsville. We found a huge variety of caches and although our find count was a little lower than we would have liked, some of the high D/T caches more than made up for that. I really appreciate the effort of the local COs and all the people involved in hosting the mega and associated activities. I enjoyed catching up with many of our caching buddies, and make some new ones too!
Thanks for a great mega trip!

The weekend of the Mega was here at long last so the first thing we did was not go to the Mega but we went to clean up some DT caches we missed on Castle Hill after we had got coffee then it was a drive to A Box of Red Herrings only to find the library closed but then to discover the cache at the Mega site anyway.
Maze was next then we did the box of red herrings while we waited for the Escape Room to open, which we were first in along with the Davinells, before heading out for the day collecting a few more good caches around Townsville.

This was my first Mega trip in a while now, I had planned to go to the last one in Wangaratta but concerns about COVID made me pull out at the last minute. For this one it was a trip with BudgieTas and GooseandEgg landing in Cairns on the Sunday where we collected a few caches in the dark before driving down to Townsville on the Monday collecting a select few caches along our very indirect route.
While in the Townsville we made the best of our time collecting a few series of caches and searching for some of the older caches on offer, some with lots of favourite points or something we thought maybe a bit different, along with all that we got to go to all the Mega events and meet up with cachers old and new, spending Thursday with Greg going round Magnetic Island and a bit of time with the Davinells who went out of their way to welcome the Tasmanians to Queensland.
All to soon it came to an end and we drove down to Mackay on the Monday again collecting caches along the way before flying home on the Tuesday Morning.
Thanks for the warm (sometimes too hot) welcome Queensland until next time!

Thanks for the cache.

Cache 8806 on 16 Apr 2022.

Up in Townsville from CBR for the Mega with TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and ZQX and thousands of other CBR cachers! So many interesting caches to find while in the area, we will sadly not be able to get to all of them. But happy to get some warmth and sunshine while out and about, which has been sadly lacking in the ACT this summer. This was also a chance to use up some flight credits from a cancelled trip to the USA in August 2020 before they expired. Many puzzles solved before travelling, either individually or collectively, and a few solved on the run!

Today: the plan is to grab a few caches on and around Castle Hill in the morning and head to the Mega and Maze in the afternoon. Who knows what the day holds!

Thanks corikra for the cache and the fun!

Day 11 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event! Big Grin
**Found with sebass19**

Today started with a long drive, Port Douglas - Townsville, we needed to arrive by 10:30am to drop off taytayy1 at the airport, which meant we were on the road before the sun was up!

I then had a short amount of time alone to fill in whilst waiting for sebass19 to arrive in Townsville after a flight from Canberra to join me for mega festivities!

He soon joined me, we filled ourselves up with food for the afternoon, and started caching non-stop like crazy for the rest of the day with the final cache find at 10:15pm! Already done fishing caches, events, tunnels and tree climbs - and it was only day 1 in TSV!

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 6. Townsville Mega section Day 6. For today I started caching with TikvaNZ for a section of the RRPT. I was on my e-scooter and we had a great time out in the sun visiting interesting locations along the river, some were a bit to much for us today. After lunch I caught up with Kittly Katch, Joolay, Isopeda and Barb2e for some pole caching. Sometimes this was quite a challenge. The day ended with a trip back to Ross River for a pre Mega dinner with heaps of people I have not seen for ages. A great way to get the Easter weekend started.

Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.

With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.

The puzzle was one of many solved prior to leaving home in preparation for my trip. Although my itinerary when I travel is generally very fluid, I do like to have a menu of pre-solved puzzles that I can target along the way.

Thanks corikra for the puzzle and the cache.

Day six of my road trip and day four in Townsville. The plan today was to just drive around town collecting target caches from my list and working my way to my 6000th cache. There was a lot of backtracking and walking trails but it was a very rewarding day, thank you.

Working my way around town I had a few target caches to collect and then there was a few I collected as I passed. So the next part of my plan today was to go and collect a few more before I went and got the virtual as my 6000th cache.

I forgot to redo my final calculations on this cache and I ended up at the police station looking for the cache, hmmm this can’t be right. Back to the car and some new calculations and a new set of coordinates and I was off for a short walk. This looks better and I soon had the cache in hand.
With yellow missing I was not sure how I was going to complete this series now, maybe next time I come to town. Thanks for placing this one here, an easy hide today.

Only one more to find & we'll know the whereabouts of the cache that needs to be rescued.

First day in Townsville! Landing at the airport and picking up the hire car we zoomed off like Thelma and Louise, but only for 500m or so until we needed google maps. When waiting for google maps to tell us where to go (not necessary as we could visually see where we needed to go) one of us had the smarts to check where caches were and who knew, we were on one. Straight away we were into it.

Had 6 finds today, a great introduction to Townsville, we feel it's going to be a cracker week...especially after what we had for dinner tonight!

TFTC. We have had these 000 puzzles solved since last year. Back in Townsville we thought we should find them and then try to solve the final. This morning we headed out for a few hours of catching. We seriously wanted this to complete the series on our brief Townsville trip. We searched every solid object here high and low, poked prodded, checked with mirrors and torches and then left to rethink. After consulting earlier finders, we returned and did it all again. I doubt there's a square cm we haven't touched. Oh well.

Didn't find this one today despite being dead certain we knew where it was. Searched high and low, in near every nook and cranny of the structure before trying the nearby business.
Having spoken to a previous finder I am fairly certain this one has gone missing. There appears to be some structural damage where the cache should be.

Somethings fell into place which meant a trip to town was on the cards so we got planning on what to do and which puzzles to try and solve.
We had solved all this series prior to coming to town so it was now time to try and collect. We got close to GZ and saw a muggle right were we wanted to be and they looked like they had settled in. We stayed in the car and looked to see what else was around only to see them get up and leave. We headed over and found the hide within 0,5m of where they had been. We noted done the clue and signed the log. TFTC

Was here and spent some time searching for the cache when it was out of action. Today it was a quick little find, second place I looked. Forgot to take the hint but it won't matter as I have seen the final container earlier in the week.
Thanks for the puzzle ( used brute force which could be appropriate for this location )

[Blue]# 12390[/Blue] Found on our 2015 Winter escape trip to Qld.
Another perfect winter day to find a few caches around townsville.
Found one of the puzzles so far, hoping to find more some day.
Cheers from Wagga Wagga in the Riverina, NSW.
Thanks for the cache corikra,

This was to be our last of the 000 series, but sadly today was a DNF for us, we thought that we searched every possible location. As it would appear we have missed the most important spot. I think that we might have to attack this Cache a little differently, we might be able to give it one more go before we leave town for another year.

Cheers

Staying at a caravan park in Townsvillle, on our 3rd trip around Australia.
Decided on a evening drive into the city, for some muggle free caching.

Solved this puzzle some time ago, but had a DNF on our last visit.
A quick find today, taking note of the clue. We will have to re-visit the other 2, for the clues.
Many thanks for placing this cache, corikra, for us and others to find.

luckily today on a raining day no muggles occupying this place so we found it quickly signed log and put it back without getting seen Smile tftc

Woohoo! I finally found a Corikra cache on this trip to Townsville!
I had a very small window of opportunity to grab a cache at lunch time today and made a beeline for this one. Even though it was the middle of the day there were muggles about to bother me, and a short time later I had a cache on my hot little hand.
I took the clue for the final.
Thanks for the hide! So glad I finally got one-I was feeling cursed!

Went out with geo-dog Schami and despite a lot of muggles coming and going, I eventually found it and eventually put it back. Hard to find with my hand still in recovery from it's argument with a ceiling fan. TFTC and I look forward to finding the rest in the 000 series.

After receiving confirmation from a previous finder that this cache was still in place it was up to geoP to go and find it.

A muggle free GZ and I am 100% sure I looked in that spot half a dozen times before, don't know how I missed it the first time!

Anyway signed the log, took note of the clues and replaced.

Thanks Corika, I think we now have all we need to find the final.

Brought geoP along this afternoonfor another look at this one. Still we were unsuccessful after a thorough search by the pair of us.

An early morning assault amidst the precipitation resulted in a lack of a cache. Searched high and low but failed to come up trumps.

A bit hard to make an attempt with a muggle seated right on GZ. Oh well on to the other one and we will be back another time.

Spending a good time trying to look for this one, without luck Sad

Worked out the puzzle and headed down to GZ with MegUA, after a bit of a look and MegUA found the cache in the first place I looked, obviously a more thorough search was needed. TFTC

Found this evening with LC85, she had done the hard work on the deciphering of this series. Once at gz took a few minutes of searching but eventually cache was in hand. Signed and clue collected. Tftc Corika.

Cache is all good and where it should be. Checked on it today while grabbing dinner from a nearby restaurant.
