Im a beginner and I thought I would have a look to try and fine it as a challenge and surprisingly I did honestly couldnt believe it but nice little hiding spot TFTC!
Checked the GC.It is there in place and ready to be found with no maintenance required
Thats a very cool sneaky cache, a fun find but unfortunately i think thats it for my caching day. Thanks for all the fun Altona. Yesterday afternoon i realized that i had a clear day where i could sneak off for a cache or two today. I wasnt feeling a long day in the car so decided to head to Melb on the train. After starting the day at an event and cito in Newmarket i headed for Seaholme and Altona to find caches along the shore. The worst thing about living inland is that i miss the sea so this jaunt will satisfy at least two desires. If i finish the caches along here then i will take the train and get off at various stations to get some nearby ones until i head home. Altona Beach is find number 3,774 for me. A fun other sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Hobsons Bay City. I am logging this one on Tuesday 27 Aug 2024 at 6:43 pm and the weather is Overcast Clouds 19C 51% 12 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy tackle_head.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
I journeyed from Melbourne's CBD to this region for a power trail walk. The weather was pleasant in the morning, but it transitioned into a rainy day around noon. It was a rewarding geocaching excursion that allowed me to appreciate the natural surroundings and rural landscapes immensely.46th cache of today, A very special hide. TFTC
Super evil hide. Had to ask the CO for a hint, and thank god for that. Wouldnt have found it otherwise. Once I found it, quickly signed it and starting heading back to the train station.TFTC
Okie dokie Im not even going to pretend I would EVER have found this without assistance. That was devilishly genius and cunning. Thanks to the CO for a hint. Far out!
TwoEms time was running out for the day and had to abandon ship. Our mission was to find 24 caches today, but we dismally failednot even halfwaywith one of us injured and the other unwell, we were unprepared for the time-challenge and became a right sorry mess. Lessons were learnt though, and onwards we go.This was the last one we looked for today, but obviously not hard enough. After reading some previous logs on our long drive home, we now have an idea it might have been something we saw, but had hastily dismissed. We regret not being a bit more inquisitive with our search efforts, and will give it another go the next time we visit Altona Beach.
Over this side of town for an event, and the chance to find my first tackle_head caches. This was #3 of 10.I parked right at GZ and the coords were very good. However, I was getting a feeling that the CO would love to hide a bison in one of the concrete wheel-stoppers within each parking bay.I spent a little while testing for loose bolts and caps with my magnet-on-a-stick, but then returned to a thought Id had originally, particularly relating to a previous hide Id come across of the same size.A small tell revealed itself, but next came the extraction challenge as I cycled through a range of TOTTs in my caching bag.Eventually a custom modification yielded the goods and I was signing the logbook. The final challenge was to return it as found!Nice one!As I finished up, a stream of cyclists flew by. A great morning to be out riding TFTC
Found after searching much harder! I'm getting the hang of tackle head's caches. 14 for 17 today
I searched here for 15 minutes, and I'm having awfully poor luck to start my overnight caching run. It's just after 1 AM and the next train isn't until 5 AM, so I must persevere.
Checked the geocache. It is there in place and ready to be found. Please read the description carefully
Enjoying a weekend geocaching with muggle sister after dropping muggle daughter off at diabetes camp in Warburton. On a mission to get reach 500 finds. This is find 472. Found quite quickly but glad we had 2 people to retrieve and replace log and didn't take it all the way out. Tftc.
Found it but I couldnt sign it but I was wondering if it was right because only one person vaguely wrote on it
found and stamped it, someone gave me a clue with the spinning as i spun it earlier, had a quick look and surely enough it was there
An early start to search out some Altona caches on the bike before work this morning. I had parked quite close to GZ when I arrived, notwithstanding the council truck and skid steer loader on a float parked across a swathe of carparks. I began to search for the cache by torch light, but was foiled after a minute or ten by the arrival of a council worker who began to unload the skid steer. I headed off on the bike, but on my return, had another look. After a few minutes, I spied something I'd missed earlier, and was able to extract the cache. After signing the log, I had to wait for a passing muggle to collect her dog's 'deposit' and move on before resetting the cache. A tricky little hide indeed. TFTC tackle_head
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 13/74, Saturday. It was a hot day today (at least on the Finnish standards), the temperature was 34 degrees. Well, we have had similar temperatures in Finland lately, only that they were on the minus side of the Celsius meter. Today I took a train to Altona and spent a lovely day there geocaching. I walked a lot and and found really nice geocaches. This one took FOREVER from me. Because of the muggles. And the heat. And the fact that I just felt like a complete idiot because I did not get it. I just did not want to give up... Finally, I asked help from someone who had previously found this, and he/she luckily helped - thank you!! Otherwise, I would never have found this one. Thank you for the cache, and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
Checked the geocache , it is there in place and ready to be found. But did replace the log 1420 pm
Uave found similar cache types in the past, so it was a quick find at GZ. Logs full but I still managed to find a small spot.
Happened to glance just in the right spot after a few minutes, log very full.tftc
I have literally spent over an hour here on multiple occasions and I feel so dumb after finding this. Great cache
Out for a day of catching up and caching up with AndyB84. A beautiful day for it, sunshine and water views. A lot of people out and about today.
We walked around for a little bit before finally laying eyes on this one.
Log is full.
Thanks for the cache.

Found with CJDenno. We just left parkrun where this cache was only about 300m from there so we decided to come and get this cache. Little did we know, this would be a bit of a struggle. It took us around 20 minutes to find this sneaky little cache. Very well hidden.

Very sneaky.
PrezDough and I had just finished the nearby ParkRun and then we decided to chase a few caches near here.
We initially went to the obvious location before switching targets to a nearby location that’s more aligned to the difficulty.
Thankfully the Muggle factor was limited and we could make the hunt without being too obvious.
I was about to give up when I read a previous log saying “trust your GPS”…. Hmmm.
Then I saw it, you beauty.
The log is full, however the backside of it isn’t, and we soon had our names down. Written as CJD and PzD.

I targeted these caches today on my day off. The weather started out a bit crisp but by late morning I was in a T-shirt. I tackled these hides on my bike which made things a little quicker. Muggles were everywhere so I had to time my looking, retrieval and return very carefully. I had a great day.
Thank you tackle_head for placing and maintaining Altona Beach for us to find today.
Find # 1849.

It is great to take a day off during the week. The weather was gorgeous and it wasn't busy. We wandered along the foreshore grabbing caches along the way.
We had no luck on the way out however on the walk back I was a bit more inspired and made a fairly quick find. TFTC.

✓ Kurung thanks you for the cache!

Tftc! So happy to mark this as found after our second look today. What an awesome hide!!
This is what Geocaching is all about. Really!
There is nothing better than a challenge in this game, and the sigh of relief when you sign the logbook. Smiling from ear to ear. Geopup had fun, but watch out for the bread slices everywhere :0

Last time we were here we were pretty sure where the thing was but couldn’t get at it. Today it was as a quick find as it was slightly more obvious and we had the right tool with us. Sneaky hide this one
Connie had looked for this once before but come away empty-handed, but Rick found it really easy on his first try!
This is the first DNF for me this year. I’ll read some more previous logs and come back another time, as it is not far away from another one that is missing.
Out for a walk along beachfront. Was expecting this to be a bit harder than it was. Found quite quickly, log signed and cache hidden away again. Thanks.
Out with echidna44. We were convinced where this one was hidden and spent way too long spinning the damn thing like fools, with passerbys giving us strange looks. After some much needed help from echidna44 we were pointed in the right direction. A quick find when we knew where we were supposed to be. A fav point from us, thanks tackle_head.
No luck. Everytime I come here there’s people around. So I came here at 12am. Nobody around then a car pulled up right near my car. Wtf! give up . Was hard enough trying to find it when it’s dark
Desperately in need of a walk (and frankly a walking regimen) I decided to pop down to what is a fantastic area to pick up a few caches. I am 145 points short of the bi-monthly souvenir so I thought it worth collecting some of the caches which have more than 10 FPs to increase the point per cache find.
This didn't disappoint. A sneaky little hide which likely has been copied a couple of times elsewhere in the western suburbs by other COs. I think this is deserving of another FP for the originality.
BTW, the log is full.

Back in the area with Rebel Acts to catch up with tackle_head and put some smiles on the map.
This one had me looking up, down and all around for way to long, but finally found it in the end.
Evil evil cache

Found with JelenaGreenleaf. What a sneaky hide! Have looked for this one before, but today she spotted it quite early on! And got lucky with not too much muggle traffic. Log book is just about full. Tftc
Found with georocks101 on a beautiful sunny day. We have both attempted to find this cache separately in the past and failed. Working in a team was more fun and we were successful this time. Love the sneakiness, thanks tackle head
Headed out with Mudbrick this sunny winter's morning to find some of the local caches.
I've DNFd this one back in 2017. Today we actually saw it but just couldn't retrieve it. Will have to come back prepared with the appropriate tools.

We didn't come equipped to do "tricky" caches. We *think* we found it, but could not extract to sign. Again, one to return to... "This time, with feeling!"
Thanks heaps, Tackle Head!

I have to officially put this as a DNF. Pretty sure I can see it but I can’t get it out to sign it. Poo!
You're looking in the right spot. It's just very hard to see, also hard to retrieve.
Too many muggles staring from in their parked cars, will try again on our way back.
We struggled with this. A whole bunch of PAFs. The co gave us a nudge and I thought I had seen something and sure enough we'd been all over it
We spent ages looking for this and Mr S just wouldn't give up. He had the right idea but we still needed help. Got there in the end thank goodness. Thanks tackle head.
Out with au.fait, we had a lovely day walking and talking while caching in the Spotswood and Altona areas. We searched for ages here, and finally resorted to PAF. To our great relief we were soon signing the log. A massive favourite point. Thanks tackle head.
It’s always a good day spent with echidna44, and add caching and it becomes excellent. This expedition ranged from Spotswood to Altona. The phone was indecisive and eventually resorted to a PAF Definitely another FP here TFTC tackle-head
I found this cache today on my Altona Plus Caching Tour in company of Pprass. The perfect day for a drive along the fore shore. Thanks from D B-A
