Got spotted by the CO at the last cache we visited. We said we were sorry this cache was inactive. She said it's there and waiting to be reactivated by the reviewer. She gave us the updated clue and off we set. Easily found the cache. Took pictures of the kids with the Opo monument. I've read all my kids the stories of this friendly dolphin over the years. A great place for a cache, thanks
As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not responded or performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to un-archive it.

hope to have this up and going again in the next two weeks. sorry its been a wee while getting to repair things. happy caching everyone
Will drop by over the next few weeks and check as I see 3 DNF's so not a good look. I did see the gardener tidying up, so sorry it may have been muggled.
Without looking too obvious we scoured all the area under the bushes, to no avail. Is it still there?

While travelling around in New-Zealand we visited this cache.
Thank you for letting us see the country!

On our trip trough New Zealand, we found this nice Cache. We tried our first fish and chips here. It was really delicious. Thanks for showing this place and hiding the Geocache.

Easy find. It's a wonder a rubbish collector hasn't binned this cache. The pub and take away shop are both awesome and well worth a visit! Highly recommended, Kellie and Gary from Western Australia
Super to be in 'butchie bum' land & have the CO hospitality to do a night raid on the Opononi caches. Thanks so much for all the warmth & fun, magicmannz & I had a blast!
Enjoyed a hearty breakfast with Yeetrees then collected the cache before any muggles turned up. A great location for viewing any passing Turiops, many thanks for the cache BB, cheers YG4.
TFTC opened the cache while eating our fish n chips lots of little baby cockroaches leaped out and ran all over the chip paper the kids squealed and mayhem broke out ... What fun!!!
Too many muggles far too close to ground zero and of the kind that could well do mischief, so after a bit of walking too and fro, gave up.
This was the last day of Touring around the far north and loving every bit of it. The west coast sure has some fabulous scenery. Couldnt spend too much time looking for this one, alot of muggles around and near GZ. Had a little poke around but didnt see it right away.
Hello from Hastings.

Found while on the Geo North Tour. I will edit log later to add further details. TFTC
Found in the dark with Geo Tour North friends, PageNZ, KittyKatch, GrimRaider and the Seagnoid. This was after meeting the locals at the very pleasant evening event at the pub. Good to meet you this evening BB.
[green] Out on day 1 of the three day GeoTour North with ToursDirect, the prelude to the MEGA in Auckland. Fantastic tour, recommend it to anyone (too late!). I surprised only 4 people chose to come along. Log signed as GeoTour North, which includes me, Edvern, PageNZ, KittyKatch and GrimRaider.
After the let's meet in Paradise event - or was it during? We tried to find this, which is right outside, at the same pub. Even had the CO looking / calling encouragement . It was almost pitch black, which is probably why it took so long, even with torches. Thanks for the help, Butchie_bum!

Nice new Turiops statue to admire . Have moved cache just a wee stroll from here as the garden has all been replanted and has to grow to enable a sneaky hide. Happy caching here in the wonderful Hokianga .new cache placement now at S36 30.280' E173 23.500' . Please rehide as plenty of muggles .have a very good look as cache is hidden, BUT is there with new log .

With be back once workmen have finished the stone work here. Shouldn't be to long.
Found the spot ok - but workmen were completely reconstructing this sitting area. One of them admitted to finding something but threw it away and blocked the hole!
Impossible to get this cache because of ground work going on at GZ - next time
Too busy at GZ to attempt last night and we had a quick look this morning between passing muggles but no luck, maybe next visit.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Having completed part of the Golden Circle series a couple of months ago, we returned today to finish it off. Unfortunately lots of muggle activity around GZ this evening also made this cache tricky find, and ultimately we had to give it a miss due to the number of people around. After meeting the CO at the final of the series, she kindly gave us permission to log as a find. Thanks for the cache!

So many muggles just sitting in the car doing nothing. Had to smoke a cigarette as a cover.
First find of the day, on our west coast cache hunt. Also our first Butchie Bum cache!!
Today is the day to travel from Ohaeawai to Opononi to do the Golden Circle series and any other caches nearby.
A lot of muggles were here. The cache is sitting at the base of the tree.
Cheers for the cache.
Found slightly out of place - looks to have lost its hanging status.
Nice distraction after having to wait an hour for food at the Opononi pub - hate to see the service on a busy night!!

What better way to find some caches than have the cache owner accompany me on a maintenance run. Excellent company and after a bit of a circuit I managed to find most of these. Found this as the owner was sitting in the car giving instructions, yep! just where she said. Excellent series which was well worth the trip up north. Many thanks

We met two cachers from the Netherlands (cire-senga) here. We searched together for a few minutes, but we couldn't find the cache... [xx(]
We will come back someday!

Dunno where this one was. Guess its still there, somewhere, but no luck for us today.
Who stole OPO??? well at least no one stole the cache. I do remember this statue on a past trip. TFTC
Found at 10:26:00 AM while travelling the long way from Paihia back to Auckland. We don't have time to do the whole series but will grab as many as we can.
Thanks butchie bum
Thanks butchie bum
well opo wasn't there but the cache was. Again another one from butchie well hidden.
opo was away getting a bronze upgrade ... this was our first ... thanks butchie bum for the geocaching lesson ... glad you were so close when we needed you
Yay ice cream time while Opo frolicks at the wharf while I check all is well here at this cache. Yes still there
Twice went here to look and no luck again another excuse to have to go back to find it
DNF to many people around...a whole tour bus stoped infront of us! so not possible to look for it
Despite the early morning ( or because of?) there were heaps of fishermuggles & one in particular loitering about who seemed to take interest in me. So all I could do really was sit where I thought GZ was, but had little chance for much groping & didn't have time to wait out Mr. Stickybeak- so not really a DNF as not enough opportunity... will return! meanwhile posting a photo of the last time I saw Opo <3
Able to park the car next to the cache area .. and before the school kids come out.

Nicely hidden cache and well situated so as to out of view of most of the passing muggles. Managed to park the van close enough to block out the vehicle next door. TFTC

Sad to see the 'turiops' isn't there - but will look forward to seeing the restored version on our next trip north. Bit tricky to find - but tikitour sniffed it out TFTC
On a caching day with Flowernz touring the north enjoying the sunshine after weeks of rain.
nice quick find TFTC

Thanks to the muggle activity this one meant a few trips. Spotted on the second sit down, but had to return to log it. Great spot to come to, sad to see the Teriops is away for R&M but it will be much improved we are sure when it returns.
Starting to tune the GPS feel for these caches. A couple of options bu Ice Cube Joseph soon had it in hand. Number 3!
Quite a few people about so this one was a bit of a challenge. Although my GPS favoured one particular spot, I started off searching the other, didn't come up with anything, and there were some people standing around in view chatting, so moved to where the GPS was pointing. Gave that area a good search, on and off as people came and went, but found nothing. Was about to give up and move on (I'd even marked a DNF in the GPS) when I decided to take one last look at the first spot I went to. Sat down and did some blind groping behind me and voila, cache in hand. Quickly signed and replaced, and then off to the next one. I can certainly think of worse places to sit for a few minutes, that's for sure! FTF #1056 TFTC!!!
