Nicely tucked away a little easier than i anticipated, other treasures are well hidden!! Tftc
On a caching journey up to the north with Supernannny and Net61 to find some caches. Many kilometres were driven over a few days and many caches were found. Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements. Not sure what the hint meant here, but soon found the cache well tucked away. TFTC
On our journey through NZ findingGC is not the top priority, but we can't do without it T4TC!Regards from GermanyM3_DD_DE
So glad to be doing more of butchie bum's amazing Golden Circle Series !Made a start here with ric1942 back in 2015!Such stunning weather....this visit I have several days in between visiting folk in Okaihau....so am very keen to target these. The first time I came here, I met a man who had been collecting massive amounts of seaweed for composting. He was pretty distraught cos his phone had slipped out of his pocket.. We searched for a while in vain.So now I was pretty sure where to look....finally found the tiny thing....but like previous finders, I was unable to unscrew it .Butchie bum had a spare container; which I helped put in to position...after removing the previous one.
Luckily we have a range of hand sizes to work with so we managed this with skill. Have to say we hadn't seen a cache container quite like this one before. Cache is all good., TFTC
On may way to the Kauri Forest, avoiding the SH!, I found some caches.
Many of them are not maintained.
Thanks.
Nearly had brocken my fingers.

Relatively simple to find but a cheeky one to get at and open, salt spray has clogged up the works. The log is a delicate shade of blue and just about unreadable. TFTC
#11,579. I am making my way back south to Whangarei. I am going via Hokianga and Dargaville. Good to see a series of roadside caches along the way. I will stop to fit in what I can before 2pm when I need to make tracks south. Parked across the road and walked back to GZ. Found the first part of the hint but functional eyesight is needed for the second part. Man my eyes need replacing. After several minutes I finally spied the little blighter. Then it took some effort to get it in a position to unscrew the lid. Signed the logbook and replaced everything as found. Thanks butchie bum for hiding it here.
Its time to head home as its getting late with The Virtual at Paradise being the fartherest out. But I missed a couple on the way so just had to stop here on the way home . Finally found this elusive critter. Alls good. here. Cheers
Its dark at Kaikohe so its straight home ot Zara for the night.
Day 8, Thursday 27 January - from Tokerau Beach dropping down leaving Zara in KeriKeri. Then exploring Kaikohe, Opononi and Omapere with Toby and Lenny, before returning to Zara in KeriKeri. The fishy series this morning before leaving Tokerau B. Lots to do so lets get moving!
Zara, Toby, Lenny and I are on our North Island expidition for a couple of weeks. Got The Seagnoid along for the first 4 days, heading to the Auckland Mega. PWGTs and TMGTs are on the radar for this trip. Lots of driving on gravel roads and visited lots of amazing places on our 6000km road trip snagging 200+ caches along the way. Visiting Cape Reinga, Bay of Islands, Gisborne and White Rock along our journey. Another awesome trip. Thanks to all CO's.
Didn't take too long to find the numbers but a 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m search either side revealed nothing.
A nice leisurely day around Opononi with evilC, geocaching and enjoying the area. Nice spot! TFTC!!
Roadtrip time, day 8.
I have used the Easter weekend combined with taking 4 days leave this week to get in a 9-day driving tour, hoping to get as far north as 90 mile beach in order to seek the recently published PWGT caches throughout Northland, as well as catch up with 4 different sets of friends.
Having spent last night at the campground in Opononi, I knew today would be a bit of a mad dash to try to get up to Pukenui and then back down to Kaiwaka by this evening, especially with the section of SH1 between Okaihau and Kaitaia still out of action due to a slip. I knew I would see a lot of SH10 today.
But whilst I was here I thought I would take the time to see how well I did with this "Golden Circle" series of caches. As it turned out, I had a very mixed set of results. Some were straightforward finds and others left me scratching my head.
At last, another find! Having had a few DNFs in a row, I was beginning to despair of finding many here today, but this one was a clever little hide found in line with the helpful Hint.
I encountered no issues with either the container or the log, which was swiftly signed before the whole lot was replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for setting up and maintaining this cache.

On our caching journey up to the north with EyeSpyBen to sort out a few more caches and a couple of series, many miles driven over many days and many caches found, not to many dnfs
but lovely weather, Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements

Sneaky one - good camo. Didn’t bring pen so log remained unsigned but here’s the proof!
Very easy to find from the hint. BUT it then took us 10 minutes to get the cache out of the tight gap whilst avoiding the rusty wire at our feet. If we had brought Daddypig123 with us we would have needed wire cutters to get his fingers out.
Another cache found on boxing Day. It was a quick find but not so quick to get the log!
Searched for a while and was about to give up then noticed in front of my eyes the whole time. Tftc
All back in place and waiting to be found thx. Diggers are all gone from the area.
Have been out and about this afternoon. All the beach work with diggers etc over the last 6 months has finished here in opononi and gosh it looks wonderful. So pleased to say this cache has been put back in place. come and enjoy they beach in our little part of paradise. Please hide well and have a good seach as is a sneaky hide. fun caching everyone.
please note at this stage there is still roading and rock wall works ( diggers etc ) closeby working daily. So wanting to keep this cache place and will keep watching and reinstall once all work is finished. thankyou.
Due to beach ? roading work here in the area this will be unavailable for the next few months. I will keep watch and enable once complete. PLEASE NOTE this container has been removed by myself as a sea wall is being built over the next few months. So cache is very much disabled until further notice.
Today we travelled from Rawene to Whangarei and picked up several caches along the way. We didn't stop at all of them, we couldn't find all the ones we searched for but we found a view and loved the places shown to us. That's what geocaching is about! Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining them!
Ran into the owner of this cache while searching. Had some nice geo-talk on GZ. As it took a while she helped us and noticed it's gone (there's only a ring left). Allowed us to sign it anyway...

After finding most of the other Golden Circle catches, we tried this one on our last day in beautiful Opononi. Only a meter to the right the little one was in eye sight. Tftc!
Almost gave up. Digging not necessary. Reading previous logs helps. It is nano ... TFTC
Northland Day 1: We drove up from Auckland to Hokianga today, passing through the Hibiscus Coast before heading across to Kaipara District and then into the Hokianga Harbour. Stopped by various beautiful regions along the way to take in the views, and of course, there was always room a few cache finds... well, not a few Thanks to all the COs along the way for showing us the lovelier parts of the Northland!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Penultimate cache of the day, and this one was found after dinner, and during a little walk along the beach. Very windy today, which was nice, thought GZ smelt a little fishy at times. Had to dig around for bit to get the cache. TFTC!

Out on a mission today, to collect as many caches as possible toward the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. With very few unfound local caches, a decent journey was required. Left at dawn and covered over 300km through the winding gravel back roads of Northland, passing through Twin Bridges, Donnelley's Crossing, Waipoua forest, Omapere, Opononi and Taheke, before the heavy rain finally set in. This heavy rain, combined with the sunset, put a halt to further searching, so had to settle in the end for 29 finds and 7 DNFs for the day.
At Omapere now, so time to look for as many here as possible. Stopped off a few metres past GZ and walked back. However, despite a thorough search, after 10 minutes I just couldn't find the cache. Was beginning to think it must have gone, when from a slightly different angle, I spotted the pesky blighter underneath a weed that had grown. Cache was quite tight to open initially, but a flat bladed tott soon had it open. Signed the log and replaced safe and secure as found. TFTC

Found the cache easily, but neither WW or I could unscrew it so we took a photo which we can post if needed. Thank-you butchie bum for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
Couldn’t sign it as log was too wet. Good hints and checking previous logs was helpful.

A circle at the western coast with 2 handfuls of caches sounds very tempting- we're giving it a try
Well not easy, so did as the other catchers dud and read do more-logs
True, rather 1m and right in front of your eyes

We had to find this cache as we were staying just up the road. Log book very wet so couldn't get it out without ripping it. TFTC
This one was rusted shut, and the log stuck inside. Took me two tools to open this, but I got there in the end.

12.30pm - DAY 1 of 3. This is our first full day of caching in the Northland Region on this trip. Plan was to travel up from Dargaville through the forest to Kaikohe and stop when we needed sleep.
Sorry to say a lot of caches on our first leg were missing and a lot needed repairs done to them.
Would advise future cachers to check the DNF's before wasting lots of time trying to find these ones.
Trip took us to lakes, boulders, churches, cemetries and a great array of other locations.
The kilometres just seemed to flash by with food and drink stops sometimes missed.
Don't know how we ended up in Kaitaia for our night stop but woke up the motelier at some unusual hour for a bed. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.
Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to head up the Kauri Coast to Hokianga Harbour , then skip across to the Pacific Coast until we were somewhere near Kaitaia. We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges we are working on...
This one took an inordinate amount of time to find, partly because the hint was misleading. Luckily, we read some previous logs to make the necessary adjustment to our search. We eventually found the hide and gained access. The log was wet and probably full anyway. We replaced it and returned as found. TFTC.

Up North for the easter long weekend with Squirrel nutcase and Gap from FapandGap making our way up to Cape Reinga. What a very frustrating series of caches which we wasted a lot of time searching for soon gave up I doubt anyone would find all these caches in one day. We did manage to find this one.

We found this container but seriously doubt that it has been signed for a long time. Unable to retrieve log paper and VERY difficult to open without special tools

Thanks
Thanks
This was too good for me , unfortunately i didn't read the logs before i went to look.
Made this cache on our 4 weeks honeymoon through New Zealand. So many great places to see in this beautiful country.
On the 23rd day with our campervan we drove from Paihia to Kaihu. On the way we stopped at Opononi and Omapere for some geocaching. Nice are which we enjoyed at good weather. This one we didn't find.
Greetings from Germany

Initially failed to find this cache on the first attempt, but second time lucky today. Not sure what it is about caches in this series, I always seem to be looking the wrong way This hide is impossible not to see once found but, as others have mentioned, is deceptively tricky. A neat place to visit, TFTC
Three good looks now but no cache. I fear I am not looking in the "right" place...?
Just about to give up then we sat back for awhile and had a think about it. Pretty cool hide amd if you read some logs beforehand it could b an easy hide
Found while caravanning in Northland. Nice to meet you Butchie Bum. You certainly headed us in the right direction. TFTC
Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 28: [blue]Kaitaia[/blue] to [red]Dargaville[/red]
On our trip to the south we were looking for some caches along our way
This was one of these caches
I would like to thank all the cache owners for showing us these great places and maintaining all these caches,
