Returning back from working in Gisborne and breaking the trip up by staying at my best friends place up the back of OngaOnga - her place is a big old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere surrounded by bush and a stream, and it is my recharging stationCache was quite visible so Ive rebraced it so its not so exposed. But its still in good shape (thanks to previous logger )Judging by the smell of the big bbq at the Black Dog pub neck door, this has replace the Hall as the centre of the community. How times change Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki #383
As mentioned, this one has been missing its lid for a while. I happened to have a spare container with me, so have replaced it with a newer version. The pub next door was surprisingly busy. Mostly with the Harley riders that passed me at the previous cache
doing a road trip with 2 bulbars to collect a few Viking puzzle caches stopping in the Domain tonight found cache nice and dry even lid missing of jar tftc
I'm on a wee road trip to southern Hawkes Bay (or is to northern Wairarapa?) on an attempt to clear the Vikings Geoart, with a bit of freedom camping down at the coast. (Apologies for the generic logging)Today it's clearing the second half, starting from Prangahau, up over Te Uri Road and then back home down through the Wairarapa (where there's a couple of new challenges to grab on the way).Lid broken but log sheet still dry.All good here and TFTC.Find #6299 at 9 January 2024 10:40 am
A quick easy park n grab. The lid is disintegrating and could do with a replacement container. Sorry we didn't have one. Thanks for the cache Skindo

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… We’re on a big Easter weekend excursion visiting Vikings and anything else in between.
Easter Friday: After dinner at a local takeaway, we headed north again to tackle a loop of caches outside of the Viking trail… All was quiet at the town hall tonight. A quick find by torchlight. Thanks Skindo. TFTC.

Been at a family gathering last night, picked up this cache on the way back to Dannevirke and home. Quick find, all good. Tftc!
I enjoy driving some of the back roads. Had a look at some of the names on the war memorial. Thank You for the cache.
Found this cache while driving to P.N. along this back road. Saw cache as I was walking to GZ. After signing log, placed cache back as found and covered as much as I could. Cheers
My partner & his brother have been looking into their family history so we decided to go for a wee from Ashhurst. They found 4 names on the war memorial and found some history from the Black Dog pub!! So glad to find this cache here right next to our car!! TFTC
Rick-a-mortis was here OZR3RZ

I decided to use the opportunity of having a quiet few days off work over Xmas to drive over to the Hawkes Bay in order to be a cacher in that region for the first time.
It only took a moment of hunting around before I made the find. Cache was nicely hidden away in accordance with the Hint. On opening the container, there was nothing untoward found with the log, which was signed before the whole lot was replaced back where I found it.
Thanks for setting this cache up, and I wish you a happy and prosperous 2021

Today was the day for a big adventure out to Ormondville by a roundabout way of getting there signing off a few caches on the way.
Where else would it be.
Cheers for the cache.

Deviated from our usual route home around SH2 to visit Ormondville and some caches. So surprised to find a cafe next to the hall. Also a lovely monument. Favourite from us. Thanks Skindo.
We are away in our campervan just cruising the manawatu to Waiarapa then on to Hawkes Bay and return. During our tour we enjoyed travelling the quiet roads away from the main state highways. we enjoyed the bike trails around the Napier to Clifton and the inland trails up to Hastings and beyond, many of these trails of course were extra special because they had geocaches placed along them. Many thanks to all those who look after the caches. We hope you enjoy the same when you come into our area.
Sorry about the cut and paste if you have more than one geocache that we had found

#5837. Day 2 of the mid-winter road trip into the back blocks of the Wairarapa and southern Hawkes Bay. The team (Ethness, Infoferret and I ) camped overnight in Dannevirke (OK it wasn't really camping as we all had comfortable beds and it was inside a nice motel). But it was base camp for the night. After a number of new caches were published overnight the team got sidetracked and seduced by the chance of a series of first to finds over by the Manawatu Gorge. But the whip was cracked and the team dutifully headed off east to pick up more skindo caches. Another rural hall. Certainly found a lot of these over the years chasing skindo caches. Had no idea they were so common. Nice quick find here. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the cache skindo.
Found while out with nz1.
Passing this way to pick up items up the road.

Leaving late today which normally isn't a very good idea when trying to cover the wairapa it was a 10am start with a 6.30pm finish, big thank you skindo I have covered most roads in the wairapa thanka to your caches today I was flying solo and had hope to get about 30, thanks to the weather that didn't pan out later in the afternoon so had to come back through weber which is quite a long drive even when your not stopping for caches.
Spent the night at camping site, which was idyllic as we were all alone, and then came here first thing on the morning to collect this one. Nice easy find. TFTC

On a mission to find 50 caches in one day all at least 1 km apart. Left Hastings in the morning and collected the required 50 by the time we had reached Masteron. Mission achieved. Thanks for placing this cache and enabling us to complete our mission.
Part of the mission with Team Welsh to get 50 caches 1 Km apart. Interesting spot. t4tc
Found on my way home from a function in Hastings this afternoon. Thanks for the cache.
Stayed overnight in the domain and went for an evening stroll around town to pick this one up
A straightforward find. Used to live in Dannevirke, but had never been this way before. TFTC
Of course there would be a skindo hall cache to be found on my travels today. As others have said, the nearby memorial is neat.
Another nice find as we check out some of the many Masterton and Tararua council gravel roads - although also some nice none dusty tarseal ones as well. Some great countryside through this area, and fortunately very little traffic. TFTC
Our 3rd of 22 caches today. Another quick find in an interesting location. TFTC.
Easter weekend ramble towards Norsewood to do some cache maintenance. Nice quick easy find. Thanks Skindo.
A nice memorial and spot for reminders of days gone by, somewhere probably not visited so often any more, so nice to know that because of this cache a few more are able to see it. Great backdrop view of the snow on the ranges today.
