Heading up to Gisborne for work so of course I have to find some caches and op shops on the way! Cute station reminiscent of the ones along the wellington main trunk line, with the cream and red colour. Would look good down the back of my garden as my new garden shed haha No lid but surprisingly in good nick. Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki #369
As per the previous log, definitely some work going on here, of the 4 posts, 1 is knocked down, 1 set on fire and nothing at the other other . Real shame as it is a cool place for a cache.
I may be blind today skindo but to be fair there appears to be some sort of work happening here too with part of one side of the gate having been pushed down? Will come back another day anyway. I am not one to give up easy
Quick find. Sadly container is munted , managed to write on minute particle of log. Entire log needs replacing, sadly I have no replacements here today
I'm on a wee road trip to southern Hawkes Bay (or is to northern Wairarapa?) on an attempt to clear the Vikings Geoart, with a bit of freedom camping down at the coast. (Apologies for the generic logging)Today it's clearing the second half, starting from Prangahau, up over Te Uri Road and then back home down through the Wairarapa (where there's a couple of new challenges to grab on the way).Found kiddies container and a scrap of logsheet. All good here and TFTC.Find #6301 at 9 January 2024 10:56 am

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… We’re on a big Easter weekend excursion visiting Vikings and anything else in between.
Easter Friday: After dinner at a local takeaway, we headed north again to tackle a loop of caches outside of the Viking trail. We could hear neighbours conversing loudly nearby. Ground zone was a little off road, so one of us went searching… The cache container has definitely seen better days and needs a full replacement. Thanks Skindo. TFTC.

Lid not present, horrible looking wet black log inside.
Unfortunately didn't have something to replace it with.

The lid to the cx container is missing and the log paper is TWTS.
Afterwards, a farmer stopped his ATV to see what I was doing and we had a nice little chat. TFTC.

A small diversion off the main drag to here was worthwhile to admire the nice train station, and find a cache. The lid is cracked beyond help, and the log too wet to do anything with. Replaced all as found anyway and back on the trail again.
After a whistle-stop previous visit to todays route back in April, I had a whole day to myself and some blue-sky/bluebird weather which is a departure from the more recent downpours. Todays target was a few more in Woodville, some more local PWGT Geotour caches and make a start on the cache highway (52) between back blocks of Waipukurau and Wairarapa (only as far as Weber today). My highest find total for many months, almost all targets met and a nice drive along some fairly quiet roads and around 450kms traveled! The road between Wimbledon was atrocious, slumps, holes, dips and side of road fallen away, but driveable I suppose. Thanks to all COs for their hides to make my day enjoyable.

We are heading to Feilding this afternoon to meet up with some of our daughters for a Mother's Day afternoon tea. Along the way we are making just a few cache stops to break up the drive. This one took a little while to locate. Interesting little station nearby. Thanks.
What a cute little station! Would never have seen this from the road. All good, tftc!
Didn't see the station when we stopped up the road a bit but soon had the cache sorted. What a quaint little station
One of nine caches located today on day 2 of our motorhome summer holiday to Hawkes Bay. En route today from Woodville to Napier. Interesting spot and a quick find. #3628. TFTC.
I decided to use the opportunity of having a quiet few days off work over Xmas to drive over to the Hawkes Bay in order to be a cacher in that region for the first time.
It only took a moment of hunting around before I made the find. Cache was nicely hidden away in accordance with the Hint. On opening the container, there was nothing untoward found with the log, which was signed before the whole lot was replaced back where I found it.
Thanks for setting this cache up, and I wish you a happy and prosperous 2021

Today was the day for a big adventure out to Ormondville by a roundabout way of getting there signing off a few caches on the way.
I went down and looked at the old station from across the tracks.
Cheers for the cache.

On a weekend road trip to Napier to see sir Elton, and finding a few caches on the way. This was one of them. All good here, TFTC
What a cute little station, without stopping for a cache, you would not know it was there, tftc Skindo
Deviated from our usual route home around SH2 to visit Ormondville and collect some caches. Loved the tiny train building. Cache all fine. Thanks Skindo.
found this way back in June 2019, just found my logbook that I had them all written down in, was a big trip from Hawera to Tauranga and then down to Hatings and then Home
replaced serveral logbooks on my travels
hope everyone has as much fun as I do caching

We are away in our campervan just cruising the manawatu to Waiarapa then on to Hawkes Bay and return. During our tour we enjoyed travelling the quiet roads away from the main state highways. we enjoyed the bike trails around the Napier to Clifton and the inland trails up to Hastings and beyond, many of these trails of course were extra special because they had geocaches placed along them. Many thanks to all those who look after the caches. We hope you enjoy the same when you come into our area.
Sorry about the cut and paste if you have more than one geocache that we had found

Decided it was another good day to go looking for caches, plus needing to find a cache to welcome in the new year was a must do as well, packing up our bags and a picnic for some stage of the trip this was the last cache of the day now back to Danneverke where we have been staying for the past week , quick easy find, signed the log and replaced back exactly where found. thanks for the cache.
A short walk in wet grass and the cache was soon in hand, I could see a drop toilet on the staiton grounds, but no apparent access to it?

It was raining a fair bit by the time I arrived at GZ. Luckily I spotted it straight away and was only slightly wet when back in the car. TFTC.
Down in the area for a rest with friends and for some caching. The are some interesting caches to be found. TFTC
It fascinates me as to why there is such a smart toilet here - it reminds me of the ones on the Otago Rail Trail! I manage to take my eyes away from it long enough to find the cache. TFTC
1 July 2018 11:26. Found with EthNz and GSEL today. EthNz was surprised to see a band new loo here! Tftc
Heading to Napier today to try and get some caches on the east coast
First stop of the day looking for a cache , found it quickly was about to leave when i herd train coming so I waited for it so I could take some pictures

Easy find on road trip to Shannon. Credit to those who maintain the old station. Cheers.
We left Kapiti with its cold, windy often wet summer behind to find some better weather in sunny Hawkes Bay. Looking for a few caches of course, and sometimes finding them in areas we have not been before. This was one was picked up on our journey. A quick find whilst on a pleasant drive through lovely scenery. What a delightful little building. Thanks for bringing us here and Tftc.
Out and about exploring a new area today. It is amazing how many times we just whizz by on the main roads without knowing what is off either side. Quick find - tftc
#2308. I was heading north today on a trip to Napier and had a list of target caches to find. Had two work colleagues with me who had not been caching before so were keen to see what the game was all about. Parked at the intersection and walked along the path to the GZ. The cache was located after a short search. Beware of barbed wire by one of the posts. Signed the log and returned the cache as found. Soon after replacing the cache we saw a NZ falcon flying off nearby with a small animal in its claws (either baby rabbit or a pigeon). Falcons are rare enough but seeing one with prey is a bit unusual. Thanks for hiding the cache here.
Originally found this on the 10/10/15 but only just realised that I hadn't logged it until today when I turned up to find it again. TFTC
We probably would have driven straight past without noticing such a pretty and interesting object so thanks for placing a cache here!
#12051. It must be two years or so since our last trip to "skindo country" to get our skindo find count over 1000 before we left Wellington for Nelson. Good to have a chance for a quick visit at the end of our 12 week North Island trip (Nelson to Christchurch via a scenic route). Pretty wet here today, but the cache was soon found. TFTC.
Today we are driving from Napier to Lower Hutt, a four hour journey for "normal" people but a nine hour trip for geocachers! Luckily the temperatures were a lot cooler today and we had a bit of drizzle during part of our journey, but that didn't really curtail our caching.
We had to drive past an unfound skindo cache a little further north as a courier van was too close behind us to stop safely, so we made the small detour to this cache instead. A quick find despite the wet grass. After a bit of a lull, it's great to find a skindo cache again. TFTC.

I was on a day trip with my mum (SunnyBunny64) and Nickhbnz and his son Lucas. A bit muddy!
I love these old train stations, and love how they are maintained and painted, even though they are hardly used now, so am pleased this cache turned out to be my 300th! TFTC 14th on our roadtrip to Palmerston North
2 adult cachers and 2 geo kids on a road trip from Napier to Palmerston North seeing how many caches we can log on our way! The cutest little train station I have ever seen! After looking at the map on the computer I see there are a few caches placed along this railway so one day I will be back to find them and maybe discover some more little stations? Easy cache and snapped a photo of the geokid with the station in the background TFTC
My girls and I spent the afternoon finding our first few caches in our local area - great fun!!
On our trail back home we did a few caches for the day. Most were a blur but some were very clever. Thanks for the cache.
A quick easy find at this nicely painted station. We added a waterproff logsheet, as the two logs already in the cache were rather damp. TFTC
Found this one today after turning round twice before getting to the right location. Quick find today and though the log was sign able the log was damp.
Thanks for the cache Skindo.
Thanks for the cache Skindo.
WE LOVED THE QUAINT LITTLE STATION, A QUICK FIND, BUT THE LOG BOOK WAS VERY DAMP AND HARD TO WRITE ON. WE DRIED OUT THE CONTAINER AND LOG BOOK AS BEST WE COULD AND HID IT. TFTC
heading up to hastings we had some caches to get. hoping to get to 1000 while here as we didnt make it to wanganui to do it. tftc
Quite a novel little station, it's hard to believe that it's not that long ago little stations like this were used.

What do you do when you find you have a surprisingly free weekend.... Plan a caching weekend away of course! After loading up the car very full, Tommygun9, Veebee001, yuyito_lindo and I headed off to Havelock North for the weekend to collect some caches and enjoy the sites.
This was an adorable little station! Took a large amount of photos here.. Such a great spot. TFTC

Continuing with the winter series of caching, and now for the shortest day of the year.
Now on our way to the Bay.
Puff, puff, choo, choo!
Cache find proved to be straightforward, all in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden. Just as you do.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

On a mission to find 50 caches in one day all at least 1 km apart. Left Hastings in the morning and collected the required 50 by the time we had reached Masteron. Mission achieved. Thanks for placing this cache and enabling us to complete our mission.
Part of the mission with Team Welsh to get 50 caches 1 Km apart. A lot of water around and I was kicking myself I didn't bring my camera... classic station. t4tc
Found on my way home from a function in Hastings this afternoon. Thanks for the cache.
Looked on wrong side to start with! Looking at the little station and thinking. How long ago would have someone stood at the station waiting and catching a train........ thanks Skindo
A slight detour as we head off to Napier for the cricket.
A bit of blackberry around.
Left a pet rock - a kiwi. TFTC

It was quite wet around ground zero today but I had no problem locating the cache. Thanks to the WilkieWalkers for putting in a new logsheet,
