We walked the beaches and headlands from Emerald Beach. There were plenty of birds, whales and 'roos as well as the views and cache.

The cache was a quick find but will need some attention as it was extremely wet.

Heading north we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them while staying in the Grafton.area.

After a detailed search we came up with the goods. Cache and contents were only in so - so condition as we had to add another piece of log sheet as container was very wet.

Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Cool find. Log very wet. Needs maintenance.

We found this cache on a walk put the the headland to spot the trig point out there. Quite a nice walk with some varied vegetation as you go along.

The cache is in poor shape as others have mentioned with a sodding wet log.

Onwards to the end and then down for a swim.

Thanks for the cache!

The rain has stopped for the morning and I have a day off . Housework didn't appeal as much as this cache did. Wonderful walk from home to get here and really enjoyed the views. Walked out to the tip of the headland afterwards, saw lots of ground cover wildflowers, almost made me think I was wandering in an alpine meadow. Log was history and I hadn't checked the logs before I came so no rescue kit with me. Will wander back again with a fresh log book over next few weeks.

Nice walk to GZ. Logbook soaked

The government has now allowed for us to move around NSW. We hooked up the caravan & headed north, our 1st stop being Coffs Harbour camping at the Rugby Club.
Today we went as far north as Woolgoolga & stopped to find a few caches on the way back.
Parked near the end of the road & walked the track from there. With a good hint the cache was quickly spotted. We walked along the beach to return to the car.
Great views from the sand hills.
Thanks for placing this cache earthly65

I'm on a 3 day holiday to Sandy Beach and this is just up the road from my air bnb. I was very happy to see what seems to be a secret beach on the other side of this trail. find was quite quick at GZ but I doubt it's back in its correct spot. Once found I signed the natural camo put in by the last finder, and as I returned back to the trail I was able to spot the missing log book. It was very wet so I was unable to sign it, but I feel better knowing this cache has its guts back inside of it. Thank you for helping me make memories on my holiday

Today I departed Brisbane on my way south to spend Christmas with some relatives in Vincentia, NSW. I had allowed myself a few days of relaxed travel, which gave me plenty of time to do some caching along the way, including a visit to this cache.

It was well and truly dark by the time I arrived at the end of Sandy Beach Drive, so I grabbed my trusty head lamp and wandered off in to the bush towards GZ. A confusing maze of tracks in here but I had plotted a few handy waypoints prior to my visit to assist in navigation.

As I approached GZ I quickly spotted the lid to a Sistema container laying in among the scrub, which did not bode too well for the health of the cache. It was in an awkward spot between thorny vines and fallen branches but I managed to squeeze in a retrieve it. A further search of the area located the base of the container, but further searching failed to locate any sign of a logbook. Replacing the parts together and with my usual caching kit back at the car, I had to resort to some natural logbook material to make my stamp to record my visit (see photo). Not knowing exactly where the cache was supposed to be, I placed it at the base of a small tree, with a rock to cover it.

Heading back to the car I managed to miss one of my turns and wandered down towards the beach before realising my error and heading back to retrace my steps. TFTC

Back at Sandy Beach for the night as staying at a lovely Airbnb Decided to hurtle up the hill before it got dark. What a lovely walk and amazing views! Met a skippy grazing on the coastal heath.

Didn’t realise there was a trail directly to GZ and took a shortcut bad me but always tread carefully. Cache located easily and walked back towards the beach, then up the hill to the lookout. Great way to wrap up the day

Now we have been in Australia for five days. This is our first trip to this country, and we like it. We landed in Brisbane and are now driveing south. After two days in Byron Bay, we went for Ballina. We have had lovely weather, but now the rain will come. Mr Kummus wanted to go to Sandy Beach to have a bath, but first we had to look for the cache. We found it quite easily. CO says that there are not so many places to hide the cache up here. In Norway it would probably be hidden up in the fantastic, big tree. En stor takk til CO for cachen. Greetings from Norway.

Today was a family day out geocaching, the steaks were high as to who was going to find the most caches. When we neared GZ the race was on and two ran off and one stayed back to let the other two battle it out to find the cache. By backing off and staying behind he accidently found the cache and the other two were surprise. They thought for sure they were on the right track.

After the cache was found we walked up to the trig spot and there were men up there flying the model aeroplanes, good time to be flyihng with the wind that was about, but they were very cautious with us up there walking about as the planes were flying very fast.

Thought we knew better than the GPS and went to the obvious spot.....the obvious spot is not always the spot. Following the GPS we soon had the cache and then continued on to the headland. MrsG had pricked up on 'trig' in the cache description. Trigs are well known for having great views. Not disappointed . . . beautiful views of the coastline and Emerald Beach. TFTC earthly65.

After the partial success at Hearne's lake I decided to come up here for the cache and the trig. A bit of a stroll up to GZ through the GZ and after checking the wrong tree first found the correct one and there it was. A nice little hide after a nice bushwalk. After heading up to the trig I went back down to the beach for a swim. Thanks earthly65.

The stroll out to Sandy Head is a beaut Big Grin
Great scenery,
lots of trails to follow,
a trig point,
and of course ... a cache to find [^]

After a bit of wandering around, it was obvious that the trail I was following did not lead to GZ [:o]
I ended up down on the beach to the south of Sandy Head Smile
Finding a trail up the cliffs, I followed that and ended up at the trig point Big Grin
From the trig another trail led back towards 'towne'.
And that trail went past GZ Smile

I found the cache in the first place I looked !!!!!

TFTC and an excellent sandy stroll [^]

This is a DNF for us, wasn’t a wasted trip as we walked to head to do Aust. Trig. GPS was jumping around about 20 metres.

Found at 11:24 AM GAFF1. The beaches around here remind us of the rugged ocean beaches on the Mornington Peninsula around Melbourne.
We made this one a T of 3.5 by practically running all the way as we suddenly had to be back home by 2.00pm for an important appointment. Otherwise this would be a more sedate T of 2.5.
Thanks earthly65.
