Visiting friends and attended Field Days yesterday. Before heading home grabbed this. Tftc
Today was a quiet cruise home from a busy weekend spent tidying at my mums place. MrF and myself thought we would see how many caches we could find on our way home back to Central Otago. No race and if we are lucky, we might get some FTF.
Glad it was a Sunday afternoon so not a lot of traffic to dodge.

A quick stop on the way out of Gore - on my way in I spotted the best parking spot, in the 'wrong' side of the road of course!
Definitely worth stopping for the views. Granville86a certain could pick the locations!
I don't think I have many Granville86a caches to find.
Thanks for the smilie granville86a, and to family and friends who maintain.

Quick snag and tag here. Cheers. Thats it for the day its just gone 7pm. Time for some dinner and head back to Zara at Balclutha.
Friday 13. Balcultha to Gore and back. Another long day with Gore on the agenda. But got sidetracked with back to basics with the ABC series. So lets hit the road!
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 11 Gore to Dunedin 23 caches found. A good view this morning. Thank you for the placement

As we parked to get this one I noticed a car parked down the road I had a funny feeling that they were geocaching as well. As I got to the GZ a lady with 2 kids got out of the car and she asked if i was geocaching and I held up the container and said yip I was. So her and the kids came over to sign there second ever log. We had a quick chat about caching. there was a TB in the cache so explained what it was and what it did. Then off to the next one. TFTC
Certainly some newer houses out this way. The nearby rest home is rather isolated in that the hill will make it difficult for many of the residents to walk to town. Cache was a quick find.
