having been down around the lower wairarapa for some time we were now heading north and were passing this cache. i see the reason for the name of the cache ! and NO i do not want a swim even though i usually love to swim. the cache had no lid but the log was in a inner pill bottle and was ok . thank you for this cache on this back road .
(# 6890) Day trip over the hill for a touch of caching. Even better that it is a pleasantly fine day. A quick find but the lid was munted and was waterlogged. Added a new log in a new inner container. Now a flip top lid. Thanks for bringing me here.
24 July 2021 14:51. The others kindly diverted so I could sign this one off. Tftc
Took a short scrounge amongst the heat-dropped leaves; surrounded by grass that dwarfed one member of our party. TFTC skindo!
In Masterton for a week and collecting some local caches. Work restricts me to being about 10 km from the hospital so was able to get these while still being on call. TFTC
A quick easy find as we explored more Wairarapa back roads. We didn't fancy a swim. TFTC
took abit of hunting around. checked logs and saw it hadn't been found for a few months so had another look deeper down.
After a much shorter than anticipated visit to a government office this morning, Miss 3Prettys asked for a far away cache. Some possibilities were just that little bit too far down long winding roads, so we chose this mid-distance cache. We'd been out this way for other caches, but this is the first time we took this particular road.
Thank you for the cache, the view was lovely.

Not the most salubrious of places to go swimming. I 'll wait for high summer and find a better picnic and swimming spot. TFTC
#4604. I had a day of leave available and with a great weather forecast, decided a numbers trip to the Wairarapa was on the cards. My mission today was to pick up more solved puzzle finals before any more get archived. Also to mop up a few traditional outliers that seem to have been missed on days doing big caching runs. Nope not keen on a swim over there. Wandered off to find the cache. Not in the first few places checked but definitely in the place where the GPS said it would be. Signed the log and returned where found. Thanks for the cache skindo.
Didn't go for a swim today, however found a lonely cache. Last found 30/10/16.
All good at GZ. Thanks for another smilie.
Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/)
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Good view of the new Masterton DC sewage ponds in distance, that should fix up the river quality. TFTC.
Road works in progress made stopping and searching an almost mission impossible. We made a quick fire attempt but came up empty handed. I expect it is there, we just couldn't do justice to the search under the noses of the stop/go men and other road workers.
Didn't fancy a swim today. Log very wet (apologies -I didn't have my geo bag with me today, otherwise I would have replaced it), but I did find a small space to sign it. TFTC.
Quite the narrow road to get to gz and doesn't help when there are road works going on and a digger has to move out of the way so we can squeeze past!! Found cache. Very over grown had to use a glove to find as was pretty yuck. Log stopping wet. No spares with us sorry.
Nice quick find on a miserable-weather day in the 'Rapa.
Crumbly log, and unfortunately I didn't have a replacement with me at this stage of the day.
TFTC!

#1750 Found on a photography/geocaching roadtrip with Nic-jay that ended up with 52 geocaches and many great photos. No swim for us today.... not even tempted! TFTC!
Found on an epic road trip with Skaga which saw us getting a total of 52 caches in just over 11 hours.
Thankfully a little late in the season for a swim! Nice quick find.

Quick and easy find. Did with Wandering Dragons, Violet Butterfly, Astro Hunter and Mycro Man. T4TC
Cache # 2,096 - Did today with Astro Hunter, Crystal Fairy, Violet Butterfly and MycroMan on a big caching day in the Wairarapa. After a previous DNF was happy to find this time. Also saw an entire cycling peloton go by while grabbing the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found today with The Wandering Dragons, Crystal Fairy, Astro Hunter and MycroMan. Thank you!

10th of 16 finds in the Wairarapa today. Reasonably straightforward find. #615. TFTC.
Find #2017. Out for a "Sunday Drive" to explore some previously untraveled roads and collect new caches. This one exposed also, needing some grass cover. SL TFTC
A couple days of caching in the Wairarapa that really stretched my geocaching skills, as the upload to my GPS had partially failed, and I only had coordinates and names – no hints, no descriptions, no logs! This one, alas, was one that my intuitions failed me on. Thought for sure it would be by the tree (and see now it was supposed to be) but couldn't find it there, or any other logical place nearby. Will have to find next time I am through the area - hopefully with all the information at hand!
A day caching in Wairarapa on my way to Carrington Park Finnish Event in Carterton tonight. Thanks for the cache.
A MEGA Adventure
Both Nova Lightning and myself had set ourselves caching targets that we were hoping to meet in time for the NZMEGA in a few weeks. So with a plan in progress and fuel in the tank away we set.
Departed home at 6pm Friday, returned home 3.30pm Monday, 7 hours sleep approx 470 caches and a great adventure.
Thanks to all those that have placed caches especially Skindo as I think we gave his caches a bit of a nudge
Thanks for a great weekend of Caching and Bull.

Mega Weekend
It all started about a month ago when Cats&Dragons brought up the idea of heading down the line to collect 350+ caches. We both had targets that we wanted to meet before attending the NZ Mega. Plans and locations were drawn up and puzzles were begun to be solved. It took me a while to get my head around a few of the puzzles and with the help of a cacher I was soon on a roll.
The weekend finally came and we departed Hamilton at 6pm on a Friday night. 3days, 2,000km, & 11hrs sleep, later 472 caches collected. Thanks to all those who's caches I found especially Skindo with a huge number laid.

#3894. No, didn't fancy one here. Saw the little "fountains" though. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Agree that the lakes looked most appealing on a warm summers day, and from a distance. May not bear closer scrutiny, though!
TFTC.

#5051. Ah, another "fancy a swim" cache (the other one we've found is near "Pong"aroa). Have been taking a few swims at Petone beach recently, but didn't find these ponds tempting. TFTC.
Out caching on a beautiful sunny day while my husband went to Wings over Wairarapa. #9 or 21 found in the day. A quick driveby. TFTC.

Miss Geckoh has been moaning all day about having a swim but when offered a swim here she was no longer quite so keen. TFTC

A good find here while taking TuisReturn around the area. Too cold for a swim today! SL Left GC TFTC
On the shortest Saturday of the year? Not likely. A nice view from here, though.
A bit cool today for taking a dip plus I'm not a great swimmer, although I can go through the motions

Second find of the afternoon with my new GPS. This would have to be one of my favourite Masterton rural roads. A favourite with my cycling friends too! TFTC
Took a cache trip with coco87 today and decided to add some caches in the Wairarapa on our list , TFTC

Found by torchlight in the dark on the way home at the end of a day's expedition to the Wairarapa to clean up a few unfound caches. Found it within seconds - signed log, TFTC!
Out for another adventure in skindoland which included a loop of the lake as well as the gravel road mystery tour. Quite a feeling of deja-vu here as I seem to remember having been asked a similar question a week ago at another similar venue. In the dark tonight I feel even less inclined take a dip than I may have at that time. TFTC
After cleaning up a few new caches around Masterton I decided that it was a good idea to look at cleaning up a few more of the caches that were at the outskirts of Masterton that I have being meaning to do for a while. These are a few of those caches that have being published after I travelled down this road a while back and I decided that today was a great day to clean some o them up. Arriving near GZ it really didn't take too long for me to track down the final hiding spot for this cache, I am not quite sure if I would like a swim at this spot today as the water was a bit dirty and I wasnt really happy about jumping in here today but thanks anyway, thanks for placing a cache here and for bringing to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (4283)
As we headed out the door I grabbed the gps, but forgot to grab spare batteries just in case. And guess what, the batteries ran out when we were 2.1km from the cache. However, we were very pleased when we still managed to find the cache without the gps for a FTF. Not sure if it was good luck, or getting to know where skindo likes to place caches. It's been a long time since we have been around here. TFTC
