Was in the area picking up a few caching and as this was sitting on the solved pile, called by for it.Im not a great climber anymore so a little elevation was needed for me to reach this.Log stamped and returned as foundTFTC

After picking up the Rat these two Confused Puzzlers headed to Glen Osmond to meet another Confused Puzzler, the Starfish, where the confusion was lessened by finding out the plan for the day. The three of us didn't venture far afield but quite a few caches were found. Some were drive-bys but most involved shanks pony and by the time we split up to head home the legs were feeling the need for some relaxation.First for the day. Thanks to FourW for adding to the playing field with this cache.Cache #14807 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*

Veni, Vidi, ViciHaving finally unlocked premium, its time to catch up on logs. Visiting Adelaide with the Gcrew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, Jtreetrack2, Neville_Devil, Quickhealer2 and SimsFamily) for a mega adventure. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their caches, we had a very busy, but very enjoyable couple of days in Adelaide and surrounds targeting a D/T loop in a day and whatever other caches took our fancy. No rest for the wicked on this trip.

29-Feb-24
I took my first ever trip on a plane to Adelaide to cache with G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, Jtreetrack2, Quickhealer2 and SimsFamily) for a mega leap day adventure. After months of planning and puzzle solving we hired a minivan and set off on a mission to find as many caches as we could on our leap day adventure with the main goal of completing a Dt loop in a day. We started off by working our way down to Victor Harbour via the coast, then worked our way back to Adelaide via the inland route chasing different types, sizes, JASMER's, unusal D/T's, earthcaches, virtuals and more. Thanks to all the CO's who have placed and maintained all of the caches we found on this trip, I had a great time.

A couple of days off work so we can visit the City of Churches for the Great Leap Forward MEGA. The G-Crew met up at Adelaide Airport and all piled in to the Hyundai Staria Im pretty sure Staria means not that comfortable and be prepared to slide around in your seat. The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have prepared for months and are ready to go. Puzzles have been solved, target caches listed, spare caches ready we are to get a Leap Day fizzy grid in SA. 7 Cachers checkToTTs checkCold drinks checkEnough time hopefully. All logs were signed or stamped with the G-Crew name to save time and space in the logs.Thank you all the CO's for the contributions and ongoing maintenance. We had a very tiring caching party. Sorry for the generic log but with 100+ logs to write I'll never catch up if I don't, my logs have been at 8 months unloved so have had plenty to catch up on.

Hi FourW, We found your 3.5 2.0 Regular Mystery Biological Code on 29/2/2024.Find 2783 for BFMC.Our initial attempt on this came up during the wee hours, but reading the cache page we decided to defer it until the daylight hours, made a quick find on our return without having to engage campus security. The G-Crew have descended on Adelaide with some seriously lofty caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). With a minivan loaded with Cachers & TOTTs hopefully time is the only thing that stands in our wayWith 2024 presenting us with a leap day, we have decided to target as many of project-gcs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day. SA became the logical choice due to the Mega event and the fertile, largely uncached grounds it provides for our team. Many months of planning and puzzle solving (from the simple to downright diabolical) have gone into this trip. Our selected matrix has evolved over time to account for other ongoing objectives. Fortunately, I had a reasonable list of solved but unfound puzzles from my last trip to the Tour Down Under a few years ago but the many, many hours, and many more group chat messages since we started planning this in 2023 have brought us to this point. All physical caches were either stamped or signed as G-CREW to save both time and log space. Thanks to all the COs who have placed and maintained these caches!

What an amazing adventure through Adelaide. This was my first time to Adelaide and we had a very long day driving and grabbing as many caches as possible. Our very lofty goal, completing a full D/t Matrix on a leap day.Apologies for the generic log, but with so many caches we got today, we didnt have much time to log them as we grabbed them.We had no issues with any containers or hides, and all were in good condition, and well maintained.I was part of G-Crew as we tackled our list, we hired a seven seater van and drove all around Adelaide. The members of our hunt were Dromaniax, BFMC, and JTreeTrack2 who did their fair share of driving and route planning, Sims_family who was on recon and puzzle solving, Neville_devil our fearless high altitude cacher, and myself Quickhealer2.We have been planning this adventure for about 10 weeks, puzzle solving, route planning, and it all came down to the big day and we did so much.I was very lucky to be invited into G-Crew, and with all of our skills and strengths we got our task doneEach log was signed or stamped G-Crew, and I thank all the CO's for maintaining their caches through the chaos of this Mega eventthanks again for the adventureQuickhealer2

Well the big day is here, we are finally in Adelaide after weeks of planning . The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) has some pretty intense goals that requires a very long day and no sleep to achieve. The last few weeks the message group has been awash with many many messages as we worked though all the puzzles in order to achieve our main goal of a full D/T loop in a day.We loaded the Hyundai Staria (Was meant to be a KIA Carnival, Not an upgrade Sad) with all the ToTTs we though or hoped we would need in order to achieve our goals. All logs were signed or stamped with the G-Crew name to safe time and space in the logs.Thank you all the CO's for the contributions and ongoing maintenance. We had a blast and sorry for the generic log but with so many logs to write I'll never catch up if I don't.

According to Google I have lived for 22 leap years + but how many more we do not know but the SA Leap Forward Mega has been and gone and what a great event. Our very lofty goal, completing a full D/T Matrix on a leap day. The G-Crew (BFMC, Bushfire, Dromaniax, JTreeTrack2, Neville_Devil, Quickhealer2 and Sims-family) have descended on Adelaide with some seriously caching goals as our sole objective, to be achieved at the expense of almost everything else (including sleep). We have to say a great big thanks to all the cache owners for looking after these caches for us to find. The hire cars had a big work out with all the gear and TOOLS that we thought we may require. We have decided to target as many of Project-GCs Leap Day badge extensions as possible, with the primary objective of completing a fizzy grid in a day.One of my first Megas was in SA in I think 2014 ( Murray Bridge) but as there, just so many caches of most D/T combos it made sense to target this Mega. We had a list of solved caches that gave a great starting point for our assault but distance was also a problem but I think we made our objective irrespective a great time was had even if we do not make our objective. Thanks to FourW for placing this cache and keeping it on the playing field.

Another puzzle that was solved months ago but haven't got around to finding until now! Being relatively close to home, this one has been bothering me for years. I remember getting relatively close to a solution back in the day but not quite getting the final step or two right. A few months back my girlfriend and I went on a puzzle solving spree, and as she works in a certain field, she knew how to solve this one straight away. This evening we went for a short drive to GZ and found the cache after a bit of gymnastics. She was even able to tell a puzzled me what the container's original use was. TFTC!

Targetting some solved puzzles around this area.
WOW! Listed T rating of 2.0 is way too low for this retrieve. More like a T4+. Or bring a monkey.
Quite an effort to get this one, but managed to grab it and sign the log.

This morning, I needed to undertake an errand and drop off an old oven, so whilst out, I decided to head to a few geocaches around Urrbrae. My time was limited due to having to get to work, so it was only a short session whilst enjoying the nice day.

I had some experience with these puzzles, and managed to crack a bit of the first stage, before then needing to reach out for some extra help. I thought I would call past this spot whilst in the area, although I did head to this cache from the wrong direction, needing to climb a fence. After looking at a few possible hiding spots, I saw the cache, but it did need a bit of manovering to get the cache out. A TOTT is probably required with this, but somehow I got it out with just some grip and reaching. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and it was nice to see the themed container to go with this one. Thanks FourW for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 569 days [18.7 months / 1.56 years] of unfound love since its last find on 14/07/2019.

Over the past 6 months I have slowly learned parts of DNA and the way it works within the human body, this was way simpler than that. I think I needed a ladder to get to this as T2 was a bit under done. TFTC

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Solved the biology some time ago and it has sat in the TBF Queue since.
Today, work finished early and I was on this side of town and not too far away so it was an easy decision to detour by and make the find. Parked nearby and headed towards GZ. Was a bit worried by the security signs so scouted the area for a bit and identified the most probable hide, then crossed over and headed for the likely GZ. Reached up and spotted the devices as mentioned in the listings but nothing. Managed to lever myself up and spotted the cache. It is a long way down but bgmat has long arms. Managed to secure the cache container and took it to a nearby seat to sign the log and then took it back to replace it in its hide. Managed to wedge it in a space not so far down so hopefully the next finder does not have the same problem.

I went out early this morning for what I thought would be a fairly quick walk to find a few caches near the Waite. However, it ended up taking much, much longer than I had anticipated but I did end up picking up a few caches in the area, including this one. And it was a most enjoyable walk with some terrific views back towards the city and beyond.

I had solved this puzzle a long time ago and even drove close by with the aim of finding it on one other occasion. However, at that time I couldn't readily see a legitimate way to access GZ and didn't have the time to search further.

Today I ended up returning to the same place and jumped a fence. Not sure if that was legitimate or not! But from there it was just a short wander to GZ and a quick find.

Thanks FourW for the puzzle and the cache.

Headed out to pick up a few unfound caches close’ish’ to home. These caches had been burning a hole in the gps for quite some time now so it was good to get them ticked of the to find list. What made these caches enjoyable as well was that they were not just park and grabs and I was able to enjoy a bit of a walk and climb/scramble to both. Greatful to have these ticked off the too find list.

This is the first 'serious' mystery cache I have found. I was already on the campus, so I had no need to climb over the fence. I liked solving the puzzle and the cache was nicely hidden, so I will give it a favourite point. Tftc FourW.

Another usual Thursday out with the Rat seeking some newer placed hides since our last visit and attempting many others on our travels just south of the city. With previous visits to these grounds albeit at night we were soon advised that the area was closed at that time of the day by security.

Today however was the mission to get this and others here in these grounds off the list.

Met with an obstruction and a notice mentioning something about no access at this point, (obviously not applicable to geocachers) the last one of the day was highlighted by the Adders comical attempt to scale this stupidly placed locked gate. You would think that university educated persons would have more intelligence to put these silly barriers up against cachers, they never work!

The likely hidey hole spotted and the structure scaled to gain access to the container. With the log signed and replaced the last smiley of the day was gained.

Likewise, No DNA was left behind at the scene.

This was our last cache for the day.
As the sky was about to erupt.
Luckily we did not leave any DNA.

A quick trip to Adelaide for a medical appointment made so much better by finding this cache!! The car's Garmin was having trouble getting me to the best point of entry but that was eventually sorted out. Retrieved reasonably quickly!!! A great cache ........................... a favourite!!!

AnyMules and I set out upon a little Mission. Start walking the Yurrebilla Trail and getting the caches along the way. Of course 'along the way' meant a few little detours away from the trail and back again. Cool
Day 2: McElligott's Quarry to Eagle On The Hill. [^] Having left a car at each end it was time to drive back to our start point. May as well grab a few caches along the way. [:0)]
When I suggested we should get this cache, AnyMules just sighed. He had done it but would love to come for a laugh. Razz Arriving at GZ I checked the lower places and then went for a climb. Couldn't feel anything so onto tip toes and hanging on precariously to peer in. There it is...but a long way back. Surprised
AnyMules was having a good old laugh but he had been busy and found a long stick for me.
Hanging on and using the stick I brought the prize within reach but in doing so left a bit of my own DNA code on the hide entrance. [B)]
Then after recovering the cache I saw that it wasn't supposed to be THAT far back. Log stamped Smile
I had rigged it so it somewhat like what the C.O. intended. Thanks FourW. Big Grin

After solving this one a while ago, today was looking for a quick and easy grab. Mistakenly picked this one. GPS had me in the right spot. Looking at some T2 places. Couldn't see it. Looked in a slightly higher terrain spot. Spotted the cache, well and truely a long distance inside. After there's or four attempts at reaching it, I opt d for the tool option. A long stick was found and the cache slowly edged back towards the opening. Close enough to grab (although there was definitely some DNA left at the scene). All retrieved and signed, I saw something on the end of the container that should have been attached somewhere. It wasn't. Have tried as best as I could to reattach it with no tools. May need a visit by the CO,to put it back properly. A FP added for the puzzle and the matching container.

Thanks for the cache FourW. Found on 30 December 2016 at 5:38 pm. Find #3559.

Brodie and I had set out for a day's caching down south accompanied by Andy Colombia and Clare007....... however the best laid plans of mice and men...... Surprised
Instead it was an emergency dash to Nuriootpa to pick up my sister who had dropped her motorbike off to be serviced and then was stranded when her daughter's car broke down Sad
So we picked her up, took her to Lewiston and then cached around that area for a while until it was time to drop Clare007 off at the bottom of the freeway and Andy Colombia off at Skippy's so that I could get to the Toy Run committee meeting.
A busy day for all of us and while they both got about a dozen caches, I got 5 Smile

Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.

Luckily I have very clever friends and so this cache was in my GPSr and waiting to be found, which we did Cool
I actually forgot to mark this as found in my GPSr and so it was rather a surprise when I was advised by another geocacher about 18 months later that I had not logged the find despite my name being in the log book SurprisedRed Face Oops Red FaceRed Face
So I am now logging the find Smile

A day out and about caching with the company of Locus Cache & Clare007. You never know were you will ended up when you are out caching, an unexpected call from a family member make us change our plans and drive in a completely different direction, we have the chance to meet Locus Sister and to say hello to a fellow caches at Nuri, we obviously wanted to approach the GZ from the wrong side, we had security people checking our moves for a little while ... then after locus finished her phone call we tried another way, then the questions started and then we give it a try !! Yep we found it !! really nice container.

Out & about with Locus Cache & Andy Columbia for the day.
Andy & I were met with resistance as the gate was padlocked,
we were then approached by a no-nonsense security guard who informed us we were near private property!
Not letting this deter us, we drove to two other end of road sections before finding an area we could access.
What we do for a smiley! Thanks for the cache FourW

Some brain cells may have imploded during the processing of this cache sample.
Nearing dark at GZ the gate and barbed wire looked daunting, but it's not far, and the locals had made a hole in the fence.
Probably some dna on that.
Actual GZ was soon located - where else could it be.
The attachment had come unattached though, so much cat like climbing skill was required to retrieve the sample and fill in my details while leaving some of my own dna for future forensics to ponder. Razz

Been working on this one for awhile, kept coming up with gobblegook. Eventually asked for a nudge, which got me so far but not far enough as I still had gobblegook. Another nudge, and another, and then eventually had what looked like maybe some numbers but still no banana until an aha moment.
Sropped by today and found the nice hide. The cache is sharing space with another inhabitant whose eggs are in residence (see pic), surprised if they not hardboiled by end of today!
Gently replaced the cache so as not to scramble them.

There is a lot of DNA in the average cell. A lot.
And there was only a short amount of code here. Relatively speaking. I had looked at this a few times and put it aside but today I really needed to sort this one out to help me with another cache puzzle.
So a solid effort and after trying a few options I finally got something that looked like coordinates.
Which led me to somewhere that looked like a GZ. Although the barbed wire barrier and the security signs made me wonder slightly about the current rights of public access to the area.
And at GZ was something that looked like a cache. Although to be fair I did think 2T was a bit underdone and I am not short!

Welcome to the potential new cacher who found Biological Code while exploring the grounds on a Sunday afternoon! I leave my number in the logbook in case my caches ever get accidentally found and they want to know more about why there's a box here... and someone did!

Hopefully I didn't scare him off, I hadn't expected to be muggled while driving. It was a bemusing experience to explain geocaching over the phone to a complete stranger.

Owl was out with Featherwaite, Bob from Elsewhere and Mrs Aussie M&M. This was one of the caches she will find in reverse order. (Find, Read, Solve). On first attempt she is partway into the puzzle, but it will take a bit of thinking to get further in. She also needed a bit of help with the finding. Curse those short DNA sequences!

Out caching with Featherwaite, Bob from Elsewhere and Doctor Owl. This was not a puzzle I had solved however I am going to sit down with my Molecular Biologist 3rd year student son to work out the answer. Doctor Owl tried to make the retrieval but some height related DNA meant that we relied on Featherwaite's height to get to the cache.
Thanks for the puzzle, it is hard to get non geocaching son interested in caching however when I mentioned this last night his eyes lit up.....

When in preparation for our Adelaide trip suss came across this puzzle, she knew immediately that this is one for the vulture. At first glance he found the orientation of the problem unusual, but soon the solution was found and the cleverness of the puzzle brought a big smile onto his face Big Grin. Today we wanted to convert this into a smilie on our caching map.

Lo and behold, solving the puzzle was a lot easier than and took only a fraction of the time of finding the proper access to GZ. Finally there, the cache was quickly located but - Surprised OH NOOOOOO Surprised- it was stuck in limbo. No amount of wiggling and jiggling could cajole it out of the grasps of whatever held it in place. Given the cache construction, brute force was not an option. Resigning to the fact that we can't sign the log and just have to write a note to the CO, we found a piece of nature that proved very helpful to free the cache and allow us to retrieve it - another big smile on the face of the vulture Smile. The smile continued when he saw the creative use of one of "these" boxes (very fancy, he's only used to the simple variety). The log was quickly signed and returned to its hiding hole.

Many thanks to FourW, this cache is definitely worth a fav!

Needed many nudges for this one. Finally on a cold and blustery morning, we popped in to an area that Mr Wibble could probably have walked to in his lunch break, but it's always more fun caching outside of work hours.
Extracted the cache and signed the log. Then the temperature seemed to drop about 10 degrees in a second, and it was time to get back into the warmth of the car.

Mr Tardis knew where to start with this puzzle, but then got lost in the detail. After a nudge in the right direction it all fell into place.

I had a nice walk today through an area where I haven't been before. I then ended up in a nice corner that I didn't know existed. Thankfully the hint quickly pointed me in the right place to search.

A nice sized cache was discovered hiding away in a good hidey hole. Fortunately at this late hour in the afternoon there were no muggles about to interrupt the find.

Signed the log. Thanks for the puzzle FourW.

After running into Lava12 at Mt Barker earlier I got a text asking if I was in the area on my way home.

A short detour as I just leaving the freeway and I was able to help out.

The puzzle was solved a while ago but I've not had much time to cache this year.

Fancy running into Lava12 twice in the one day when we haven't seen each other for a while. Always a pleasure.

Gotcha!

Ah Ha! One of those puzzles where just when you think you have it all nutted out, a curve ball is thrown and it all goes pear shaped!

Even after trying what I thought were all of the possibilities for this one, I still failed to see anything. Going back over things again, suddenly there it was!

At GZ, finding the cache was the easy part. Retrieving was another story. Its a good thing I'm nice and tall, with long arms, and had a pair of pliers in my kit that gave me a little extra reach. Juuuust managed to get a hold of it. It was not until I had it out of the hidey hole that I noticed the attached wire! Dammit. I really should pay more attention to the descriptions sometimes.

Thanks

Here are the results of the investigation of Forensic Inspector C. O’Connor regarding the suspicious activities reported in the area. Evidence of intrusion was found in the following locations:

On a near fence some red hairs were found. They were traced as belonging to a canine or lupus type creature, possibly the Rutilus Lupinus.

Closer to the alleged scene of the crime some further animal particles were discovered. This is where the case gets really interesting as forensic evidence suggests the DNA discovered is that of a long extinct lizard -like creature, the Lacerta Hiberna or even Draco Hiberna.

A nearby bench contained crumbs and particles of a low nutritional snack containing sugar and wheat. Saliva analysis pointed clearly in the direction of a Panthera Tigris Muffinus.

The most disturbing evidence though was discovered right at the centre of the scene. The synthetic cloth in situ was subjected to a number of tests and contained follicular elements of an extra terrestrial creature known in scientific circles as Candide Caeli. It almost seemed like the creature actually hugged said synthetic material!

In summary, after collecting forensic evidence and submitting the samples to extensive DNA testing, we now have conclusive evidence that the location in question has indeed become a clandestine meeting place and as such recommend tripling security in the area.

Deoxyribonucleic acid. We use it to convict criminals, clone sheep and generate mutant humans which have steel claws coming out of the backs of their hands. Nothing contraversial of course!

After spending some time decoding I can now understand why my workplace spends thousands of dollars having someone else generate the yeast genomes from their research. It took some discussions between T_M, a Roach and some astrophysics lessons and a solution was born.

Took nothing, apart from a fresh banana left at GZ by an early morning finder. Nice work 4W!

My brain felt like it was full of non functional junk protein by the time I had transcribed the required sequences. Plenty of my own DNA was scattered across the keyboard by the time I had finished this one. Hair follicles, spit, sweat and some muffin crumbs - you name it, CSI would have their job cut out screening the genetic soup. Check for Klinefelter's if you dare.

I did not wear latex when I cached the cache. Astro does not do latex or guns Smile

Q. What does DNA stand for?
A. National Dyslexics Association.

Q: What did one DNA molecule say to the other DNA molecule?
A: Do these genes make my bum look big?

At first glance, I thought this was going to be a clone of GC1336Q. But no, it's something else entirely, adding plenty of genetic diversity! A clever puzzle that fell out logically over lunch, then a detour to GZ on the way home. No genetic samples were left in the cache.

TNLN - Thanks FourW!

Bugger! In an effort to solve this I appear to have mutated. You may now call me X-Muffin!!

What a great cache, and a clever puzzle!
A favourite point for this one!!

You're missing an important name from the history of DNA!
There's another great German Scientist that you need to includeSmile

They say that one of his experiments went horribly wrong and as a result he mutated himself into an evil March hare [:p]

That would be the evil C4 mutation in the sequence.

The cloning of humans is on most of the lists of things to worry about from Science, along with behaviour control, genetic engineering, transplanted heads, computer poetry and the unrestrained growth of plastic flowers. Smile
