Motorhoming around in winter and finding a cache here and there. We are staying at the RV park overnight & enjoyed a stroll to the football grounds to find this cache. TFTC
Find # 15812Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 5. After a cold night at the Maggea Oval.. I was off on another days hunting. But decided to turn things around as I started in Loxton (after getting supplies) and tackle the trail backwards from original plan. TFTC reidpondy
Away for a couple of days with Featherwaite as we try to clean up around Lameroo after the JLWE.We achieved our goal without any dnfs. All caches were in good order unless mentioned.TFTC
### The Lameroo Hawks Geocache AdventureNestled in the heart of South Australia's Mallee region, Lameroo is a quaint town known for its vibrant community and the spirited Lameroo Hawks football team. The Hawks' games were legendary, drawing fans from all around to witness their thrilling matches. One crisp Saturday morning, as the town buzzed with anticipation for the afternoon's big game, a group of local kids embarked on a different kind of adventurea geocaching quest. Led by Sarah, a keen geocacher and Hawks fanatic, they set off with their GPS devices, ready to uncover the town's hidden treasures. The first clue led them to the old railway station, now a historical site. They searched high and low, finally discovering a small, camouflaged container hidden beneath a weathered bench. Inside, they found a logbook and a small Hawks pin, left by a previous geocacher. They signed the logbook and replaced the cache, their excitement growing. The next clue took them to the Lameroo Hawks' home ground, where the smell of fresh grass and the sound of early warm-ups filled the air. They scoured the stands and the surrounding area, finally locating a cleverly hidden cache in a hollowed-out piece of wood near the scoreboard. This cache contained a miniature Hawks football and a riddle leading them to their final destination. The riddle pointed them toward the town's community garden, a place where residents gathered to grow vegetables and share stories. After a thorough search, they found the cache nestled among the blooming sunflowers. Inside was a note congratulating them on completing the quest and inviting them to a special pre-game ceremony on the field. As the sun began to set, the kids, now joined by their families, gathered at the Hawks' ground. The team's captain, wearing his signature number 7 jersey, greeted them with a smile. He thanked them for their adventurous spirit and presented each of them with a special Hawks' commemorative coin. The kids cheered as the captain led them onto the field, where they were introduced to the roaring crowd. The adventure had not only brought them closer to their town and team but also ignited a passion for geocaching that they would carry with them forever. That night, under the floodlights, the Lameroo Hawks played one of their best games ever, inspired by the young adventurers who had embraced the spirit of discovery and community. And as the final whistle blew, marking another Hawks victory, the kids knew that this day would be one theyd cherish forever.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -keep the Long weekend free- June 2025 Can't wait!!2468

This sporting complex is pretty amazing for such a small town. A lot of other, larger centres would be jealous of these facilities. Quick find here, nice little spot for a cache! The log book is dry now but shows signs of having suffered a little in wet weather.TFTC reidpondy

Sparkie and Goldy are back for a special Christmas catchup caching session today. We are targeting the Lamaroo/Pinnaroo area today. We met up in Mount Barker and decided to drive express to Panitya in Victoria. The border is only 5km away from Pinnaroo, so we decided that we might as well go find a cache on the other side of the wall while nearby. We then stopped in Pinnaroo, Lamaroo and Parilla grabbing caches before heading home.Another fun day together with perfect weather. We found a total of 15 caches for the day. I also made a find in a new LGA, as I hadn't been to the Southern Mallee region before today.Sparkie made the quick find upon our arrival to GZ. These caches are helping us explore the area, so I'm thankful for the CO's showing us around. Thanks reidpondy for this traditional cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3900 on the 22nd of December 2023.This also brings me to day #413 of my daily streak.

This weekend, I visited Bordertown for the community celebration event. During the morning, it was a trip to Ngarkat Conservation Park, before joining everyone at the event while it bucketed it down with rain. The afternoon was spent visiting Wolseley and Mundulla. The following day, it was a trip north up the SA border to Pinnaroo, and an exploration of the vicinity via Mootatunga, Karte, Billiatt, and Lameroo. A return home via the highway allowed stops in Geranium, Jabuk, Peake, Sherlock, and Moorlands, arriving home well after dark.
Today, I headed out solo north of Bordertown to Pinnaroo via Senior and Ngarkat. A longer journey that I had anticipated. I decided to keep heading north along the Browns Well Highway, and find some of the out of the way geocaches in the vicinity through the back roads, including visiting Mootatunga, Karte, and Billiatt. I found the civilisation at Lameroo a welcome change, before continuing my westwards drive home. My final stop was at Sherlock completing *the Great Detective Series*, taking two hours all up I looped around those geocaches as it went dark.
I managed to find this cache rather quickly, as it wasn't well hidden. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I tried to hide a little better, so it wouldn't be discovered by muggles. Thanks reidpondy for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

It was a glorious Autumn Day and so Anymules and I decided it was time to make the trip through Ngarkat Conservation Park to collect the caches there and in the towns surrounding it. Except for a couple of campers at Buck's we had the whole park to ourselves and didn't see another vehicle! [^]
There was no sporting events here today so it was a quick find and sign.

A huge weekend of geocaching with sir_spectre. We were targetted a couple of events on the Border Track and I had a ball. Still feeling shaken more than stirred but highly recommend coming out to do the track with a great group of people. Of course on the way there and the way back managed to grab a few others too. This was one of the specially selected ones.
Thanks to reidpondy from mogni
