Due to 3rd track being laid this cache is now gone. Maybe another cache at a later date.
I can't believe it is just on seven years ago since I found the majority of this series. Not sure why I didn't find this one then but logging it now as others have even though the cache is damaged beyond repair. TFTC # 14,316
Found it but unable to log as the cache has been melted somewhat in a fire. Can see the log inside but there was no way in this time
Time for another wander round while my wife stays with some friends. I was a little lonely today but still managed a good haul which included this little cache. Found quickly thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement however there has been fire damage and the cache is pretty much welded closed. The log book is wrecked and also cutting grass isn’t a desirable location either. Cheers & TFTC but really I think this one needs to go.
like the previous finder, i found the same badly damaged cache, time the co replaced it
Looks like someone light a fire near here - see image of cache - its a bit worst for wear and i couldnt open it

I had time today to go and find a few caches before I had to head to the airport and home. I got up early and was on the road by 6.30. After my search a train went past. TFTC, Biggles.
Nice wee hide
But Log Book is very very wet
someone has put some paper in so you can sign it

Made sure to stay away from the electric fence. Quickly spotted this cache but the log was too wet to sign. Added waterproof log
Lots of rubbish around gz and we found the log sopping wet and unsignable so replaced it with some waterproof paper
Attended geocaching Event in Papakura this morning and decided to stay in the area to find a few local caches it was one of them.
Hi vis jacket mode on! Caching beside the road need it.
Logbook wet.

This type of cache is not one of our preferred type of hides. This cache with quickly found despite all the rubbish near GZ. The log is saturated - so we added a sheet of waterproof paper.
This is the third day in a row of caching for the Hidden Creatures challenge and it is starting to get strenuous... But one does what one can in order to win tiny little virtual rewards... This one was an easy find. The logook is soaking wet, but I managed to sign somehow. TFTC!
Hidden creatures challenge... ACCEPTED. Found together with Greenkiwikids and Pyphant. Signed as team Piraten. TFTC
What a nightmare sight but went down anyway. A few slights cuts and itches and then geowife reads a log and hiding place was obvious.
Dear Cache Owners,
I am a German guy who stays in New Zealand for eight months.
My English is not perfect, so please don't wonder if my log entries sound a bit strange. Thanks!

After dropping off my host kid in School I used the beautiful weather to make a Little Geocaching trip in Papakura.
Didn't understand the hint, but could find the Cache quickly.
Thanks for hiding!

Got a bit cut up doing this one. If there weren't so many cars passing, seeing me crouching around in the ditch I might have searched a bit harder. Maybe next time.
#3240. Today I headed out around the city to pick up quite a few challenge caches and any other traditional caches that happened to be nearby. Caching on a public holiday is useful as the traffic is quite light in the city and most businesses were all closed. Parked close to the cache but away from the railway line. I was very surprised to make a quick find here today as I remembered searching here previously and it was a nasty thicket of pampas and I gave up before I got shredded. Some kind soul must have shifted the cache to a friendlier hiding spot as it was an instant find of the type regularly made in the Wairarapa rural areas. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here.
Parked nearby on the other side of the tracks and got out for a quick grab. Cache is in good condition. TFTC.
Had stopped nearby to find a challenge cache, and saw that this cache had a TB inside, so made the short detour to pick it up. Didn't like having to look through cutty grass, but in the end, it turns out that I didn't need to look through it at all. Picked up the TB to move along. Thanks for the cache!
Had to wait for 2 trains to go through, then crossed & found the cache. Left a TB. TFTC
Not keen on Cutty Grass Hides , but it proved to be easily found thank goodness !
Officially found a plant we have never searched in before toi toi. It has made us below flax on the preferred plants to look for a cache. Lucky Mr JP came and saved the day and found cache pretty quickly. TFTC
2348 While I was getting "The Waikato River Water" cache A train started over the crossing. By the time I got there it had gone but the barrier was still down and lights were still flashing. I was second in line. After waiting awhile I got out and checked that no trains were coming and cars starting going round the barriers. I went back to car and did likewise. Pulled up on the other side and got out of the car. As I approached the crossing the barriers and light stopped. Had to wait for all the cars to clear before I could make the find.
A bit squelch underfoot, had to pick my way carefully.
This is a surprisingly busy road.

We are up from Hamilton on a mission to chase our caching buddies' total so we can all celebrate our 3000th find together, so we are all about the numbers today. The cache trail guided us to the right spot and we were soon signing. No cutting involved, luckily.
I don't think I would enjoy walking this busy road and unfortunately we don't have the network of paths across farm land that they have in Britain.

Found ... quick drive by, park & grab, as I needed a cache to fill in another day on my calendar ... the area was very quiet & I had no issues, apart from a train going past which scared the 'be'geezers' out of me ... easily found & quickly replaced ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,329 for us.
Nice quick find on our 3 day road trip from Hawkes bay to Auckland and back. Great few days to grab a number of caches. Tftc
On a sunny Sunday afternoon in the area chasing new publications we decided to also grab a few other caches in the general area before heading home to a nicely roasting chook in the oven for our Sunday night dinner! MrNZT started heading off on a tangent towards some nasty looking toi toi and blackberrys, however MrsNZT decided another clump of toi toi looked more likely and right she was!! co-ordinates spot on and didn't even get a scratch! TFTC!
The pampas grass was just too sharp for a full scale look. Spent a few minutes looking in the most likely places. Nothing showed up so on to the next one.
After driving from Greenhithe to drop the Mustang off at Drury Auto Service for a warrant, we thought since we were in the neighbourhood we'd collect some close by caches while we waited.
Found this one easily and managed to retrieve it without much scratches. cutty cutty.. all around.. TFTC
Bit prickly getting through the poipoi but had the cache in hand in no time at all! Tftc
Had tried to find this one a year ago. Was in the area today, so thought I would give it a go again. This time it was a lot easier, found it right down by my feet
Super quick park and grab with 3-girls today. Glad it wasn't any closer to the tracks!
Found with my Mum, NewlynFam. Have now created my own account so am logging all finds I was present at and helped with.
We also found this one while out with our friends, 3-girls as we were introducing them to geocaching.

Was standing at Gz wondering how much I wanted to dig around in toi toi then I looked down and saw it beside my foot. Thanks
This was the second time we have found a cache. Pretty easy find might need gumboots.
I stopped by in the rain to see if I could get this one. Thanks Gorby for keeping me from getting all cut up. Left : Regards from Hamburg TB. TFTC.
I thought, Oh no, not another bloody toi toi cache. C.O's must enjoy seeing their fellow cachers get cut to bits! At least this time the cache was easily found and when I replaced it I made sure it would be even more easily found to prevent any more injuries!!
Was out with stik-a-crane Mr as I had tried with Mrs but we had no luck.... was worried about the toi toi cutting us so left it until today.
TFTC.

Found this one today after school with EIR-OT as Mrs stik-a-crane had been here before with no luck...was a little concerned about getting cut by the toi toi's me thinks...
Cache is all good and dry.

Trying to keep a streak going, not so easy now the mini cachers are back at school. Stopped in here on the way home from the children's soccer training. A super quick find by Purply before we really looked at the phone for the location - lucky we were at the right angle. Although it is Mrs HeMaLuDy with the toi toi scratches to prove we have found it.
1.30pm - On a road trip to pick up a few necessary and maybe some bonus caches with the Squirrel. SLTFTC
A Dot Day... The mission for today: find mid-level D Rated caches. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are heading to South Auckland. Everything in between is fair game... Our main targets are Marmis' Challenge Caches (the ones we've qualified for). However, as we were driving through the countryside, we discovered others where we also met the target...
When we saw the hint objects, we had typical negative thoughts regarding 'that' plant. However, a quick, careful search resulted in a find. We were onto it enough to do the business before a commuter train passed by. TFTC.

Thanks to those before me who flattened the grass. Slightly ouch but easy find. Thanks for the cache.
Still in original position. Another nice quick find, but blackberry a bit of a hassle. TFTC
2nd attempt - rain and toi toi - not a good combination
There is also a corner post nearby

Oh NO ! Read the hint, saw the GZ, had a cursory search but decided we didn't need to find it badly enough to get cut up in amongst the grasses.
My 87 year old navigator had me stop here. Took one look at location , then hint....why would you....? Oh well then, a quick look,....and that was all it took.
whew with capital W. Signed log.

Out enjoying a wee loop drive. Had read the list of DNF 's here. But stopped anyway to see for myself . Wondered to where GPS was pointing and made a quick but cutty find thanks. Cache all good and waiting to be found. Interesting wee hide all the same. Then as returning to my car had to wait as a train came along . .coast clear so off in the Geonut for some more fun.
At GZ there was a heap of cutoff toi tois, so we only gave it a quick glance and moved on..See attached photo
Gave up at 15:15 - together with aedk and Difool

The grass presented a slight hassle, but after a bit of a search Kaisho53 came up with a find!
This is Day 5 of our trip to the Land of the Long White Cloud for the 2013 NZ MEGA event in Auckland. I joined Gunnie69 and Kaisho53 for a fun packed 5 days of geocaching adventures. The last day started in the north near the mega site and make our way back to the airport, and then a plane home.

This one took a bit of scratching around for Ghostgums, Kaisho53 and Myself, but persistence paid off and after a couple of minutes, Kaisho53 came up with the goods in a area little wider then we were initially hunting in...
With the cache in hand though, we added a sticker ot the log and tucked it away, before moving on to the next.
Cheers doandhopers.

Regret we did not find this one

Shortened the working week by half a day, pretty much so I could get a few hours to grab some caches on the way up to Auckland.
When I read the clue I nearly turned around and went back to the car. A very careful look around, and was quietly please the cache wasn't too meanly hidden. Found with no cut's from the Toi Toi's. TFTC.

Found within 20 seconds of leaving the car. Was expecting a harder one from the logs. TFTC
I did not like this cache sir! Searched about to no luck and then, finally, manage to spot the hide. Was happy to have not DNF'd this one because it wasn't going to be a motivating nor pleasant one to return to. Thanks!
Great, quick find. Lucky sun is still shining and not too far into the scratchy toi toi.
Was out and about with Trout-fly today and as he had already found it and it hadn't moved since then he was able to direct me to the cache.
