A nice little spot to visit while making our way around doing a nearby AdLab.It was an easy find and all was good with it.TFTC

25-Aug-24
It was hard to see but there were some keen rowers out on the brown sludge in the middle of the day. The trees were blocking the view, but we could hear them more often than we saw them. It actually reminded Mrs Woodyrothwell that we had to start watching the paralympics. We had to look it up, but the cockswain of the boats were miked up yelling out instructions. Its always good when you can use the word cock legitimately in a log. Surely they arent the favourite person in the boat.Imagine you are rowing your heart out and someone doing nothing is shouting at you. Surely they arent the favourite person at the pub later in the day. tftc

And geocaching has done it again! It is the regular reason I find new places I never knew existed and Coucal track is now one of them - TFTC. I was quite amazed about the lack of walkers through here for this time of day. But just as I was thinking that (and I still had the cache within view although I quickly put my sparkly gold pencil case on top of it), a man walked past. I pretended to be taking a photo and admiring the view. Then, from the other direction, another man with his toddler arrived - ever so slowly and looking at his mobile phone for some of the time as they slowly approached, but not talking - and hanging like they were waiting for me to go. I almost thought they may be geocaching but nah, too much of a coincidence! However, they eventually walked past me - after the Dad said, “Come on, let’s leave the lady to her peace & quiet”. Then 5m away, I’m sure I heard the girl say, “There it is”. The man turned back toward me and said, “She likes your sparkly gold thong or whatever it is”. The cache was sitting directly underneath it! A genuine case of hidden in plain sight! If they log a find after me, I’ll laugh and know for sure they were geocaching! Picked up the adventure lab while here. Yay! Two for one.

Today was TeamChappy's last hurrah in Geocaching. When we started I was signing logs. Now both GeoSons can sign their own mark. So many adventures which took us to a plethora of amazing nooks and crannies around Australia. We will never forget the fun we've had and the amazing caches we've come across. TFTC one last time and thanks for the memories

Had a little bit of lunch time, so headed out to complete and adventure lab, and explore the area. I was actually looking for a CITO location and was failing miserably. Dang neat and tidy people around here.
I spotted this traditional not too far from where I parked, and headed straight there. Had not been here before, and have uncovered another gem thanks to geocaching. The likely cache spot was quickly found and luckily for me there was a pen in the cache. The log book was signed and the cache container was rehidden.
Thanks very much for the cache placement geo sapiens. Cheers

We spent quite a bit of the day either on the Brisbane River in our kayaks, or fairly close by wandering the paths all of which have beautiful views of the river its self.
We found this one late in the day and enjoyed our short walk and the views.

Coucal View
D 1.5 T 2.0 Regular Traditional Cache

Busy but very enjoyable day with the Domsky Dou today. Attended an early morning event in the city, tackled some high Terrain rating caches with a watercraft, visited a highly favourited letterbox and completed some adventure labs and some trads in between.

Thanks for the cache and taking us here geo sapiens. Quick easy find with a spot on coords.

Found on a windy, overcast day.

The conditions made this walk extra nice. No hassle with the cache at GZ, just checked the wrong one first.

Today on this sunny and hot day, my solo geocaching expedition took me to the area of Jindalee and Sinnamon Park. I began my day at Mount Ommaney Bushland Reserve, which was a pretty nice walk along Brisbane River. I then made my way around Westlake and then Riverhills, completing *Parks of Centenary* Adventure Lab. After grabbing a late bakery lunch, I made a loop back towards Mount Ommaney and Sinnamon Park, where I completed the *Sinnamon Park Historical Tour* Adventure Lab. I closed out my day making a stop at Rocks Riverside Park, where the *Industrial Disease* Wherigo allowed me to have a walk around that area.

I parked on a nearby side street, and descending along a few unofficial trails, to get on to this nice walking trail. After arriving at GZ, I made the cache find reasonably quickly, as it was nicely hidden as per the hint. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks geo sapiens for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

22-May-21
With a couple of days free to cache and a new kayak to try out, a plan was set with Team Tyrrell and Nayfee. We were going to hit Lake Manchester via kayaks, then overnight camping stay at Wivenhoe. Then in the morning, a quick paddle around Wivenhoe before heading home to our pre-organised afternoon/evening events.
As usual it was a fun filled time; we grabbed our target caches as well as a few as we passed by. “There’s always time for one more cache” seemed to be the theme for the trip, lol. The highlight of the trip was our campsite and one we didn’t want to leave. A very nice view, a curry and a bottle of port for dinner, some stories and laughs around a well maintained campfire, neither of us really wanted to leave.

After a good morning on the dam we started our way back home. We decided to go for a little drive and grab a nearby adventure lab. At the start of the lab we found this one, a little walk and we found the cache. With log signed and cache replaced as found we were soon on our way to grab a few more of the adventure lab.

22-May-21
Chamad and I decided to head towards Riverhills to do the Adventure Lab and we noticed this cache was very close to one of the waypoints, it would be silly not to grab it so we wandered over towards GZ and spotted the cache sitting out in the open. After signing we made sure the cache was out of sight and hidden from view.

Thanks for giving us a reason to visit.

Have been walking this track quite a bit lately and love it. Found this cache 6 years ago. Have a TB I've held onto for way too long as my caching activity has been a bit lacking recently. So I decided to stop and check out this cache again. All good here and it now has a cool TB.

Find #1550
It's our first visit back home since we started geocaching, so plenty of local caches to find. We did a quick circuit of the Westlake/Riverhills areas this afternoon, finding some spots we had never seen before.
We parked at the end of the track and walked to GZ. As the structures approached, the hide type was immediately known, it still took a little while, as the GPS zeroed in between the structures, so we had to check both.... TFTC Blackspades

I am loving finishing early on Fridays! Very Happy This afternoon, after work, I met up with Mr and Mrs RoddyC to find a few caches. We strolled along the path until we came to GZ. I looked one side and spotted the cache on the other. It didnt take long before we had signed the log. TFTC

04-Nov-16
Friday afternoon geocaching with Selva Girls to search out some fun. That we did - and with a vice variety of geocaches of all sizes except a large (but that would be unusual in suburbia!)Sad

At last the sea breezes were kicking in and the walk along this otherwise sheltered section of the river might have been quite sweaty - but it was not to be today. The cache was quickly found, but chats with several doggie walkers slowed down the signing process for a while. Enjoyable spot here - didn't have to bend too far at all! [xx(]

Log signed & replaced again. Found at 4.15pm on 4th November, 2016. TFTC

It is beautiful area around here and we have obviously been here before because we passed the final gz waypoint still on our gps from a previous series around this area. A quick find once we got to gz. TFTC

30-Dec-15
With a little bit of spare time in the holidays I decided that I really had to tackle the windy streets of West Lake and have a look for some of my close-by unfound caches.

I managed to park in the wrong spot and had an interesting little bash through the bush and down the rocks to get to the path. Walking along the path I saw a great place for a hide and immediately headed down to check it out. Was a little surprised not to find a cache but then noticed a second great spot for a cache a few meters on...

So I went there and had a look and quickly spotted a tidy cache.

Thanks for another glimpse of the Coucal Trail.

What a gorgeous area! I love these beautiful little pockets of bushland that are hidden away - and this one has a lovely view of the river as well. Wandered down the track to find GZ, luckily it wasn't that busy - only one runner to keep an eye on. Found the cache quickly and added my name to the book.

Thanks for bringing me here Blackspades!

14-Nov-14
I found another couple of cache on a nice little path to take a walk. This is most definitely the sort of cache I prefer over the quick drive bys.

I found a park in the shade on Barcoorah St and soon found my way along the paths down to the riverside path. I wandered back along the path as the GPSr ticked down the distance, and soon with a beep knew where I needed to look.

My looking took a little longer then it would normally, however without to much problem the cache was soon in hand, I added my name to the log and was soon replacing the cache and heading off for the other along the path.
