Track is in a right old state, lost it a few times, but followed my nose til I got to the bridge. Passed the 1st big tree, but the 2nd has fallen down in recent time, so no sign of the cache in the rubble. Carried on to the 3rd tree, found the red metal tag and a black plastic bag, which may have used to contain the cache like some of other MorganEd finds in the past?, no sign of the cache however.

What a ramble. Gnarly vines, decaying hubris, steep drops, slippery track-no-track; not for the faint-hearted. Final part done by our shooting stars, while the sunbeam and super nova waited.

Stay on the one side of the water until the 'end' is our tip of the day.

In Hawkes Bay this month for work. Had the day off today so headed out for some caching. Nearly decided to give this one a miss as it was nearly 5 years since last found. Oh well I’ll have a go. Don’t think this reserve is frequented often. Kept on losing the path then it would reappear. Finally got to the cute bridge and started following the hint. No problems finding the first tree but after that I was guessing. Followed two possible paths and checked out lots of trees. No joy. Just as I decide to head back I spotted the cache in the open. Looks like it had rolled down a slope. Cache was in remarkably good condition. Signed the log. Replaced behind the nearest moderate sized tree next to the path. Last found 1767 days ago. Thanks for the adventure. Happy to add to the favourites. Hopefully won’t be another 5 years before it’s found.

after seeing this cache hadnt been found for years we set out to look for it. to get to gz was a great adventure and it was very quiet and peaceful. we spent a long time when we got to where we hoped to find the cache but even once we expanded our search out to trees in the surrounding area we had no luck finding this cache. it seems unlikely that it is still there but we had fun looking anyway.

After finding the cache earlier on the trail we thought we'd try out our new(ISH) boots and carry on down to this one. A great adventure especially going over the bridge. Found the first big tree but even after checking as many trees as possible we couldn't find the cache. Maybe if we have time before heading back to Auckland we might try again.

While staying in Napier I decided to go for a drive southwards to see some out-of-the-way sights. A nice walk in the Maraetotara Gorge reserve. I walked over the bridge and onto the cache. I didn't notice a metal tag on the tree though.

Cheers for the cache.

We tentatively walked down the wet track, and after looking unsuccessfully for some time, had a look at previous logs, but although they didn't help, we discovered we had been here four years ago and recorded a DNF. Perhaps this spurred us on, as shortly after we uncovered the cache, exactly as described, and close to the coordinates. We crossed the river on arrival, and tried to return over the bridge, but found this was impossible TFTC

Took a bit of looking, given the GPS bounce - cache had skidded off down the hill, but replaced as described in the hint - given the state of the track, not many visitors come this far - Pity - Thanks!

Nice find with Just-Lookin while geocaching around the area.

We enjoyed the walk to the cache - last finders hadn't bothered to put the lid on properly so everything was wet (log ok though) we dried it a bit and looked around at the natural feature.

On a road trip with tmann421 to the Hawkes Bay.

I really enjoy walks to caches like this one. Thoroughly enjoyed walking alongside the stream and the surrounding views. A reasonably quick find at GZ and then made out way back up the track.

Thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot.

2nd find today. Out caching with 25 or so others from our newly formed Geocaching Hawkes Bay group. Took a lot of searching but finally one of the younger members called out loudly that they had found it, good job this is a muggle free area! Loved the natural arch and saw a couple of eels swimming in the stream. Very Cool spot indeed and well worthy of a favourite point from me. Thanks again for the caches here.

Also part of the Geocaching Hawkes Bay group. Interesting track to get to this cache, glad it was during good weather as can only imagine how slippery track would be when wet. Very cool spot with the limestone bridge. Thanks for bring me to such a awesome spot I never knew about! TFTC

A really nice walk, to a pretty cool spot. Our 3rd find for the day on our Geocaching HB Picnic to Mohi Bush.
This is the reason I love geocaching... I never would have come here and seen this otherwise. A Favourite point from me!

Cool walk, great company and about 12 sets of young eyes to look for the cache made this one very easy and enjoyable. TFTC Smile

Interesting track. Lucky I had some brave kids to follow. Love the bridge and after a short hunt one of the kids discovered the cache. Lots of excitement as trades were made.

A beautiful walk to do on such a sunny day. Took the dogs (naughty as it says no dogs at the front) but couldnt leave them in the hot car so they came along. Intended to find the other cache but we just walked and reached the wonderful bridge. What an amazing area. With use of the clue and my handy galaxy phone compass was a relative easy find. Some cool things in this cache! Thanks for the awesome walk TFTC

I could almost copy and paste the previous log here! My poor little etrex lost signal well before GZ and I too found the cache 'washed out' just below the path. Relocated back to a more logical place just a metre or so away. Superb location and I'm very surprised more people don't venture out this way to check out these little gem reserves. TNLN TFTC.

We've found the other cache located in this reserve and had a good idea where the 'bridge' was... it is a beautiful scenic spot. Tranquil. Due to GPS not liking trees, the hints took us to the cache, it was exposed and looked like it had popped out of its hiding place. We replaced it to where it seemed logical, covered the cache as well as we could. TFTC SL and left a couple of pieces of swag.

It was an interesting walk down to the arch after some rain earlier in the day left all the bushes wet. Unfortunately despite spending over half an hour searching, we were unable to locate the cache.

CoolCoolCool FTF 3rd May 2012 CoolCoolCool

Our 5th FTF in NZ!

We were sitting at a BP filling station just outside Napier when I noticed this was yet to be found so we took a meandor down to GZ, not rushing after noticing it had been published AGES ago!!! We grabbed another cache on the way 'down' and after a slippy slide to GZ we stood back and stood amazed at the arch! What an amazing find!

Cache found quickly, GPS was showing 75 feet accuracy near GZ, so that was put away when we got into the general area.

Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.

Thanks for setting this up.
