Found it SL. Enjoying a caching holiday in Townsville with mackay_geocaching. Thanks to the COs for the puzzles that they have created and brain strain to solve them. Puzzles mostly been solved prior to this visit with alphag_25 and mackay_geocaching team effort. Brought the GEOPUNT up this time to tackle more of the T5 caches and Challenges on the water. Also prepared fir the task with the Segway Scooter and Paddleboard. Merry Christmas and Happy Caching from Mackay.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Today we picked up a few more pre solved puzzles while about in Townsville.
Took some time to unearth but got there in the end. Enjoyed exploring the area, cache and contents were in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

This one was tricky. Worth a 4 without the muggle factor. Maybe a replacement outer is needed one day but it’s working fine without the threat of tetanus just yet. Only way a cache would survive for this long would be for it to be in a place like that. Sat down with the Boncos/Dolphins game on while working through this so I have it saved in my notes now. Visited after dark but the members prize draw of $300 was called while I was searching. Thanks for the smiley.
Next, Konie and I headed to this cache. I wasnt so sure about my geomobile heading down the dirt section, but it managed it. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC ACME_Caching

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 14. Townsville post Mega section Day 2. For my last day in Townsville, I joined TikvaNZ for another section of the Ross River power trail, with a bit of on and off again rain and a closed section we did pretty well. After that I set myself a list of puzzles and other non -trad caches to find for the day, which all took a lot longer than I expected, not to mention the ongoing rain all day. It has been a wonderful time in Townsville, and I have many more caches to get, so hopefully I will get to pass through again later in the year.

The recent 17/02/2022 Sip and Solve event provided useful information for us to solve this puzzle. We soon had a set of plausible-looking coordinates, and with no checker, we had to trust that we hadn't made a mistake.
During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
In the area today with e.gregory1, we parked and took the short walk to GZ. After checking a couple of places, we soon stumbled upon the nice hiding spot. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks ACME_Caching for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found as part of the Qld Cache mega event weekend in Townsville over Easter 2022. Joined forces with Gunnie69 after flying up from Brisbane to tackle a variety of caches around the Townsville area including three GeoArt series, other puzzles and a few labs! I would like to thank all the cache owners who are making this an enjoyable weekend!
Today it was heading out to James Cook University and then back towards to the centre of town, before seeing Gunnie69 off as he headed back to Brisbane

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.
I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.
While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.
All in all it was a terrific week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.

A little high speed ball action on the nearby green, but nothing to interupt the hunt for this cache as Ghostgums and I approached. We split to check different locations, both coming up empty handed to start with.
With a couple of obvious places ruled out, hiding spots were becoming fewer, so with a slight adjustment to the hunt, I ut my hand on the container. [^] Out with the log, in with our names, the cache was returned as found and we hit the road.
Cheers ACME Caching.

"An extra start for the muggle factor"
Looks like myself and sebass19 got let off easily on this one! Found at 10:05pm, not a single muggle in sight and the night was still and quiet. So we wandered over from the car and sebass19 was the one to have his hand on the prize first, it was a 50/50 chance as we each took a side of the object!
Thanks

**Today:**
Day 11 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
**Found with sebass19**
Today started with a long drive, Port Douglas - Townsville, we needed to arrive by 10:30am to drop off taytayy1 at the airport, which meant we were on the road before the sun was up!
I then had a short amount of time alone to fill in whilst waiting for sebass19 to arrive in Townsville after a flight from Canberra to join me for mega festivities!
He soon joined me, we filled ourselves up with food for the afternoon, and started caching non-stop like crazy for the rest of the day with the final cache find at 10:15pm! Already done fishing caches, events, tunnels and tree climbs - and it was only day 1 in TSV!

Nyssaflutterby and I had a road trip to Townsville for the mega. It involved camping, hotels, cabins, tunnels, caves, beaches, trees and lots of laughs with old friends and new.
Off to pick up some solved puzzle caches with Membsec for the afternoon.
Upon arriving at this one we spotted some other cachers. Good to see Humbug again and meet some of his friends.

We got off the plane, grabbed the hire car and was trying to decide whether to head straight for our accommodation or head to the supermarket. We contacted Nyssaflutterby who stated that they had just arrived at the accommodation, (she knows how to find some good accommodation) so we headed for there too. Once our luggage was in the room we decided to head out to do some geocaching before it got dark.
Well well well, who should we meet here, three very suspicious men! Hello, hello, hello! The coords here were very good so it didn’t take very long to find a container within a container.

MEGA trip - day 1
After an early morning flight for a week of caching in Townsville, we grabbed a few at Castle Hill before meeting up with the bug who was helping with setup of the maze. We didn't quite have a plan but enjoyed zigzagging around the suburbs picking up a bunch of solved caches.
Bumped into our first group of other cachers and of course BUG was on first name basis with all of them. We eventually got down to the business of finding the cache and heard it before we saw it.

The next closest solved puzzle cache for the QTAS team was this one. We made the short drive to the car park and started the stroll to GZ. Rounding the corner we spied 3 suspicious characters lurking
Haha! Great to see you again Bug

And nice to meet you Crash and Tardis.

Coords were spot on for this one and a stealthy retrieval was soon made. Great old tin. Pretty cool that it can still be used. Thank you for a fun puzzle
In the end this was an easy find as there was only real place it could be…. I wanted to say that cause I’ve missed finding caches previous finds have state “a quick find”. I felt like the biggest LOOSER!!! But today… I’m a winner
Day six of my road trip and day four in Townsville. The plan today was to just drive around town collecting target caches from my list and working my way to my 6000th cache. There was a lot of backtracking and walking trails but it was a very rewarding day, thank you.
Working my way around town I had a few target caches to collect and then there was a few I collected as I passed. So the next part of my plan today was to go and collect a few more before I went and got the virtual as my 6000th cache.
Looking back at this one and I remember the hide clearly, a nice little bison inside a mint tin. With a fair few people around here today the activity was high but they were not bothered or interested in my presence. The find was made easily and with the log signed and cache returned as found I was off to another in the area, thanks for the hide and puzzle.

After solving the puzzle at home a while ago now, it was good to be visiting Townsville today and make the find. As Fullboar indicated in his log entry, the original container was located, but the contents were soupafied. Rather than just leave it, we replaced the log and placed a more water repellant bison tube inside the original cache container.
With this puzzle solved some time ago we made our way to GZ today, as reported the log was saturated and we could not sign.
Took the log and left a shiny new bison tube and log inside the original container, magnets are still good, thanks for the puzzle and

Up in TSV with KerriMG. This tricky puzzle was solved before our journey north. At GZ it was a quick find however the cache has definitely seen better days and the log was too wet to sign.
Getting the coordinates was easier than Alphanumeric #2. Though, getting the right timing for claiming the cache was another story. It took me several visits until I had undisturbed access to inspect the area.
Day 2 in Townsville, DiMorgans car today, with Di being the navigator???, DIdn't start of too well with more DNF's than finds, but we slowly tipped the scales in our favour.

Has annoyed me for ages that this one, so close to home had been left unsolved for so long. Today, while sitting across the road getting something to eat, i attempted it and it fell into place as i wrote it down. Thankfully The CO wasn’t playing hardcore when he/she did this one. Third spot i looked. Was here earlier in the day waiting for the basketballers to go, and rescued a juvenile magpie that was stuck between the mesh and the roller door of the nearby clubhouse. Got it to trust me just enough to hold sticks through the mesh and make it work it’s way up to the top where I pulled hard on the split gate for it to get its freedom. Hopefully the wound that left all the blood along the roller door from where it was bumping it’s wings is superficial and it will survive. It managed to fly in the end ok. Two highly rewarding outcomes today. Quite pleased with myself. Thanks for the cache. It’s standing the test of time well.
Found this one with the Brisbane Babes after a bit of a search and gps jumping it was well hidden, thanks for placing this cache here.

Monday. Argh, don’t you hate it when you look where you think the cache is (and it’s there), but it blends in so well that you decide to move on to other spots to see if it is there. So after reading a previous log noting that the cache is a bit rusty, we figured that it might actually be where we’d looked, but just that it was hiding. I grabbed a stick, which Que Sera decided to use her fingers. Fingers won out and cache was retrieved! Well done Que Sera. Log signed and cache returned back to its hidey spot.
This was the 1st of 11 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***ACME_Caching***, for showing us this place.

Found back in September last year but re-visited again to check and make sure the log was signed. Had some difficulty with this puzzle and only managed to have it partly solved but headed to GZ and chanced our luck. Discovered on this visit this cache might need some maintenance. Did not have a replacement lid for this type of container but managed to place the lid on but would not like the log to disappear by accident.

TFTC. We had mnaged to solve this puzzle earlier in the week with some help from friends in Victoria. We are camped at Ross River Dam and thought we would come up to the park to find the 3 puzzle caches. Unfortunately this was the only one that seems to still be in play.
We worked a few puzzles before our winter escape here. This hadn't been found for a while so we were a bit skeptical of success but with the area to ourselves, we felt here and there and pulled out the rusty old tin. Thanks ACME_Caching.
We were staying in Townsville for a couple of days and with no hope of finding all the caches here we decided to target multi's for the Pirate souvenir game as well as a few puzzles we have solved and the wherigo's as we really enjoy them.
Knowing that we were coming up here we spent a few weeks before we left going through and solving puzzles that were within in our puzzle solving range. We spent a little time on this one until the penny dropped and after a few false starts we soon had a set of co-ords and today we were hoping to put a smiley face on the map. We arrived at gz and spotted a likely location where the GPSr was pointing but had to wait for a few muggles to move out of the area before we could check it. Once they were gone we are happy to say that the cache was found in the first place we looked and our name dutifully added to the log.

Out finding some caches with Geo-son Wolffman05. Had solved this mystery a few years ago, but had either been hindered by muggles or the cache was missing. Solved this one a long time ago and finally got around to finding it today. Had tried to grab it once before, but was thwarted by muggles playing basketball on the closest court to the GZ.
Arrived at the GZ and started my search. Could not find the cache at all. Searched the surrounding area as well, just in case cache creep had set in. Mtn Pygmy Possum who has previously found it was there as well and she could not locate it too. We fear that this cache may have been muggled. Cache might need to be checked by CO.

Today's caching mission on day 3 of our annual Townsville visit with the in-laws was to clean some of the 20 or so solved (but not found) puzzles as well any interesting, higher difficulty caches along the way.
Prior to this years trip I spent a few days solving some NQ puzzles including this one. However, I am still working on Number 2, which I find harder. I quite enjoyed solving this well crafted puzzle.
At GZ this morning, there were no muggles, and the find was quickly made. Thanks for the cache, ACME caching.

#6240 This was one of those caches that we had worked on prior to our very short holiday stint in Townville. An interesting puzzle which was nicely constructed, very enjoyable to find the solution. In order to get to GZ involved an early wakeup and walk - it was a beautiful morning and as the time was nearing 6am the dawn was making an appearance. Interestingly there was a worker nearby but SkullDad had slipped into ninja stealth mode . The cache was found well hidden and in good condition on our visit. Our thanks to ACME Caching for the puzzling fun and for the cache. Cheers [^]
Had worked out the co-ordinates for this puzzle sometime ago, finally had a chance to get to it.

Arriving at GZ, cache was an easy find.
Thanks for the challenge, ACME_Caching.

Needed a hint form the CO to solve the puzzle, it just wouldn't make any sense the way I tried it . Also needed to attempts to find the cache, as the first time round there were some deodorant sniffing teenagers hanging out nearby in full view of GZ. Cache is in good condition, log is dry, if there had been a pen in it - that's gone, so BYO pen.

After an additional hint from the CO Cat was able to work out the cords for this cache.
Arrived at GZ and yep mugglers were near GZ.
After having dinner nearby we went and searched for this cache and Not a muggler in sight. After a bit of searching Cat came up with the goods. Thanks for the hunt.

No luck at this one today . We had the coords sorted out shortly after publication but the cache was much trickier! There was a smelly pile next to GZ so we tried to stay downwind. Hunted around the likely spots but obvisouly missed something . Maybe next time. Thanks for the puzzle
Found on the great Eclipse Trip of 2012 with Freddo.
A solid day driving between Bowen and Townsville. Much respect was given to each cache on Remembrance Day. Thanks for the fun!! A quick find so thanx for this.
Thanks to ACME_Caching and clear skies from TeamAstro.

Had solved this one at home a week or so back and now back in Townsville I continued my run of puzzle caches - this was number 3.
The old ducks played bowls not far away but the park was empty allowing a quick find.
Thanks!

A tricky puzzle.
Tried many solutions - to no avail.
However a generous clue from ACME and the answer suddenly jumped off the page.
A simple walk in the park and the cache was to hand.

Got this one after a series of hints from c2m. Can't believe how simple it ended up being... I was expecting it to be a lot harder than this. TFTC great simple find after we had the coordinates.
Grandma offered to take our two year old for the night and the second thing we thought about was doing some puzzle caches.
Got this one knocked off and went out this evening with two year old in tow. She can't spot a cache but those playgrounds she sees from a mile away. Picked up the cache as the last stop for the night and spent a good half hour till well after sunset the playground.
Thanks for the cache

#128 FTF Saw the notification this morning. Printed out the page and did the substitutions straight away. Easy.
Unfortunatlt, we were forced to leave it behind and went out for breakfast and to do some shopping. The whole time we were out, I was turning the rotations in my head with the first couple of lines I could remember.
Got home and dived straight into it. Big monkey suggested the key number.
Cache was an easy find, and an empty log is always good to find.
Probably have to move one of my hides now. Ah well.
