Family is away for the first week of the school holidays and so I have a plan to go caching. First goal is to make 7000 caches and hoping to crack 180 in a day on Monday. Today I headed west with the geohound - starting on 821 caches for the year (250 AdLabs!) and hoping to crack 50 in various LGAs for the day. It also happens to be AFl Grand Final day so listening to the Swans and the Lions as well. Some further back road driving though overshot this one. Katy Perry was just starting up while I collected the replacement cache here - not long until the grand final kicks off.TFTC Blacklegend
Found It!After a lot of searching in the wrong tree, I eventually found wazza9/Nana Nel's replacement cache about 30m to the east of where the coordinates take you. Hope that's ok.TFTC
Taking the road less travelled with catnap777, we saw that this old Blacklegend cache had been replaced so we pulled up and put the hazard lights on while we made a quick find. Thanks Nannanell for the throwdown.
Thanks to Nana Nell for replacing this cache. I was here back in September 2020 looking for it, but it was definitely gone.Am very happy to change a blue face to a yellow.
Out and about today exploring the area with Grannan55 and Geodogs. Picking up a couple of caches on the way home. All good here. Now, onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Replaced cache with new log sheet. Stamped log and put in new place 30 meters in the 1st large tree, as the small trees have been removed.
TFTC,Wow, the temperature is 39 Deg. today and after an early start to avoid the heat playing golf, it's time to find a few caches to build our statistic numbers for this day on the calendar. And we are on our way, exploring an area we haven't spent much time in.Replaced in nearby tree, believe roadworks took old cache away. Visited trackables.
DNF with LittleBoss2 on our way to Echuca from a night in Yarra. A lot of roadworks here, think this one might be gone
Camped nearby at Mywee with The4wdShed and thought we'd spent this great day grabbing some caches. This one was an easy find, I agree with your old river course. TFTC
My feet are cold so thought I should get moving Bopped around the backroads near Tocumwal and discovered a few interesting spots. Car is dirty again Thx for taking me on a local tour during my visit

This road looks brand new and nowhere to actually safely stop as the road is now built up 7+feet. No small trees here.
There has been alot of work done here. The road has been widened and sealed. I have a feeling that the small trees have been removed, as where the compass was pointing, no trees were present
Found before turning back toward Yarrawonga. While the cache was still operational the bag could do with replacing. TFTC.
Found on a Clarmensma Family trip to Cobram/Barooga for the holidays. Sorry for the super late logging! TFTC
Our regular school holiday Team Clarmensma overnight trip is upon us again, this time heading north to Cobram, Barooga area. With both days over 40, we broke up our caching with lots of swimming, frozen cokes and icy poles.
A really fun day had tripping around. TFTC

Quick find as we detoured to dinner!
School holidays meant it was time for Team Clarmensma to reform. This consisted of myself; becca85 and our 4 geokids (AdamSistema, LukeSistema, neisha07, boo09). This time we hit the Murray and cached our way from Ballarat/Maryborough to Cobram/Barooga (where we stayed the night) and then back through Tocumwal, Numurkah, Shepparton and Bendigo. We had a fabulous couple of days in VERY hot weather so stopped for lots of swims and water fun. Many thanks for the cache. Very much appreciate you placing for us to find.

Visiting Cobram Barooga for his nibs to attend a golf tournament. All well and a nice hide, but the bag is torn, might need replacing (we didn't have any left). Thanks Blacklegend

Another great hide, out with my granddaughter for her first cacheing expedition.TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1650. Here we passed sheep, and lambs still with woolly tails. Really enjoying the peace and serenity on day 1 of our trip. Our thanks to Blacklegend.
A quick and easy find as we cache our way around the area for a couple of days. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
5646 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1345. Another on the Old River Course. The Mrs was going to find this one but baby had to tell her to watch the feet. Log very wet with the rain over the last few days but we got to place our stamp on the sheet. SL Tnx Blacklegend.
We found this one quickly as we continue on our geocaching tour of the region. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Up here on a birding trip and mooching around in between times checking out the birding and the neighbourhood, what a fascinating series (well, the bits I got to!), so obvious from the aerial shot. Thanks for your efforts to show off the area, have seen more than ever before and really appreciate it
Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.
Making our way south to Melbourne now, it's amazing seeing all the other travellers heading north! Are we heading the wrong way
Currently staying at Apex Beach we headed out today to see what Finley and Tocumwal have to offer!
Geocaching takes us to some amazing places and your cache certainly helped with that.

Thanks again Blacklegend.
Thanks again Blacklegend.
Day 2 camped at Finley, and we headed out to pick up a few caches in the area.
We found a variety of caches, and cache hides. This cache was located, after a short search.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Blacklegend, for us and others to find.

Today was probably the last chance for a trip over to Cobram before the hot weather hits. A couple of puzzles were solved and a plan was hatched.
Having found a few of BL's cache we have seen this hiding method used for a few other caches so it was a quick find.
Thank you for the cache Blacklegend.

Out to do the old river series this morning. Great job you have done to find the old river course.
Good one don't know what made me look there but didn't take to long. Might be a hint for my nemesis. Stockyards
A delightful spot with a bit of water and wildlife to look at
Thanks for the cache, it was an easy find

Heading home to Melbourne after spending the weekend visiting family in Leeton. A quick drive by for the Chief and we were on our way. TFTC
This took a little bit of searching, but I got there in the end. A clever hide it shouldn't have taken that long. SL TFTC
Found at 4:08:00 PM with Roostaman. A quick stopover to grab a few caches on our way back home from the Central Victorian get together in Echuca.
Thanks Blacklegend

# 5997 Found with Fred6603 on a stopover in Toc after a week of Get Together events.
We went for a drive around the area after lunch to find a few more of the new caches since our last visit.
No muggles around here today and another quick find.
Thanks for the cache Blacklegend,

A great billabong series had us driving around some interesting countryside today. TFTC
Thanks again BL for the series in this nice area, a good choice of locations with all the water about.
A quck find was made on our mini blitz of the area......Cheers.

#2943 We continued on with this river course series - amazingly from our vantage point we were not successful in seeing an obvious sign of it aside from the occasional soaks. Still a nice drive along the country lanes which we really enjoy. A very nicely constructed cache container was soon spotted by Dad - we've seen them before but we are always impressed by the effort gone into the camo. Thanks once again BL [^]
Find number 12 of 37 for the day with Chaplain Mike around the Tocumwal/Barooga area. SL TNLN TFTC!
Find 13 of 38 with Smart Sassy Siren for the day, looking to complete a couple of milestones, including Tigersden's 25 in a day Challenge, Smart Sassy Siren's 200th and Chaplain Mike's 250th.
Unfortunately this log was a pit damp and clip seal bag appeared to be chewed by wild rodents, --- but we put a replacemnt log in and a new clipseal bag emailed CO.

I was up in the Cobram / Tocumwal for a few days and was going to be heading back home this evening, again. After a huge day of caching the day before with the TDC and Roostaman in Myrtleford and Wangaratta, I had the opportunity to collect a few caches in the Tocumwal / Cobram area as I was literally going to be driving right past them (almost). I'd been staying in Tocumwal with my best mate Blacklegend.
A nice and sneaky hide found once at GZ. Thanks BL.

39! another great spot in this series this river must have had an awful time trying to decide which way to go haha but agaim this series makes me think about the path of the ovens river to which i live very close to if the course it runs now is the one it always had or is there other possibilties....... series of caches around wang for this idea maybe.............................................. cheers SL TNLN TFTC
Found on a day caching this way with Tattboy. This was my 18th find for the day.The first of this great series, which had been planned in order but didnt happen in order.I think the picture is amazing and that it is very possible that the river used to run along this course.I have spent quite some time looking into the interesting question of, whether a river can change course or not.Basically OF COURSE IT CAN and are constantly changing.
With a few possible reasons being....
1.During flooding the force of the current cuts across narrow bends, making the river shift to the new channel. Continual elevation of the river bed, should floods occur it may break natural levees into the surrounding lower flood plain adopting a new course.
2.Sometimes obstructions in a river will cause the current to divert and cut a new channel in a different direction around the obstruction.
3.Rivers have also been know to change course because of earthquakes.
4.In sedimentary geology and fluvial geomorphology, avulsion is the rapid abandonment of a river channel and the formation of a new river channel. Avulsions occur as a result of channel slopes that are much lower than the slope that the river could travel if it took a new course.Rivers can also avulse due to the erosion of a new channel that creates a straighter path through the landscape.
5.Landslides and the build up of sedimentation,(rocks, boulders, mud)which also makes continual elevation of the river bed, making it flow out of its regular course.
Anyway a great little discovery and series to go with it.The cache was found quickly and easily.

This cache was one of the many grabbed on my 4 day trip to the OzMega Event. We arrived on Friday at midday and left at Midday on Monday and cached between when we where not socializing with other teams. This trip was also a shakedown for a new tent trailer we had purchased for camping. Besides the bike rack breaking on my trailer on the way up it all went well. PT539 also got a similar trailer to mine. He had trouble with his water tank.
This cache was one of 14 *FTF* we blitzed while at the mega event. As soon as the alert came in I started to make my way towards toc. A quick call to Spladem and he was on the way, to I made a quick detour to pick him up and keep going. Well over an hour later we arrived at the first of 14.
I liked the cammo on this once but the plastic bag look like it must taste good for the locals. TFTC

I was able to cancel my breakfast order and was soon picked up for the drive out here. some 260km and about 5 hours later we were back in Albury.. Thanks Adam for the hides and the joint *FTF*'s with C@H.. Heaps of fun was had.. I rekon this is takes my BlackLegend FTF count to 65.. This was one of about 30 cache finds today and about 100 for the long weekend, including 2 DT / P 81 combo's and a handful of puzzles Thanks Blacklegend for the hide.. Find #2323
