I was out today walking another section on the Monster Lane to collect fuel for the Cosmic Quest. In all I found 8 traditionals, 1 DNF, 1 did not attempt and finished on a multi cache. I also picked up 13 TBs from one of the caches.I initially went too far into the bush, but on exiting the cache was located. It was here that I collected 13 TBs. Find number 7 today. TFTC

From the outside looking in, one can both judge and admire the creativity Dr. Who had on what I can only assume was a meagre budget. A lot of the monsters are undeniably a "guy in a suit" and seeing these photos, I understand why Wirm got called "bubble wrap monster". Hey, suspension of disbelief is a thing, and my interests are equally open for pulling apart too! This whole series has mostly been missed by me, but this large beauty made it into my to-do list. This afternoon I'd headed north to meet up with Fangsoki, stroll around Tinchi Tamba and now, I figured I had time before the drive home to go for a bit more of a walk. I strictly should have packed my scooter for this access, but walking will have to do for me. Naughty boy!I parked legally, then got onto the bikeway heading north. Not much to say other than traffic is noisy, and sometimes there's more flowers by the side of the road than I normally notice. At GZ, the hide is obvious. But also, somewhat blends in to the casual observer. I dropped out of sight and ducked down to sort out the admin. No doubt it's a heartily stocked geocache. And then I noticed the vast number of trackables within! I had a look at them all and packed the smaller ones into a baggie for future finders. I grabbed just a couple to move on to further adventures. And I added my name to the logbook at 16:30. Lovely. And then the same walk back in the other direction. Nice to just stroll along with minimal distractions and be happy at another handful of smilies for the day. Thanks for this generous geocache, barbbowman Smile

I had a plan to get some caches with a fellow cacher but due to illness that didnt happen. The littlest Turmoil was accounted for so I wanted to get the bigger Turmoil out of the house, getting some sunshine and exercise. I have been looking at this Monster Lane bike ride for years and decided today would be the day. We only completed the section near the bridge and boy my legs were aching at night considering it was a short ride and an easy ride. Most caches were found quickly and without any interesting events/memories. Some, however, were a different story.Large cache with lots of trackables. I didn't take any though as I lost interest in trackables a long time ago. It seems every time I want to move them on are the days I only find micros!

Our last day in the area before heading home, out on the bikes yesterday and again today, unfortunately we have lost our bike toughness, and there are a couple of sensative areas that we now need to work with. A great little series today, all containers found and in good condition. Will give a couple of fav points for the series randomly. Especially this month as the CO will get those points for the challenge.

Thanks barbbowman for the caches.

I have access to LeDeVine for the day so decided it was time to find some “Monsters”… with the bike in the back, I ignored Geepers about parking on the Deagon Deviation and instead parked on Pomona Street…

A nice morning for a ride…

Knowing the CO had been here recently I was expecting a fresh new container… it appears. Instead that I found the old damaged, waterlogged one…

I hunted far and wide for the new cache, but couldn’t see it anywhere…. I’ve contacted the CO…

Went to the wrong tree first, to avoid the massive spiderweb, but it was where we had feared. The cache definitely needs replacing! It’s totally exposed to the elements, and even had a resident lizard. We added a temp logbook, as the original is destroyed.

20-May-22
Found it but didn't sign. Looks contaminated. 12th for the day.

20-May-22
Container is broken and log book is unusable, so we didn't sign the log. Photo for verification. Needs to be replaced. TFTC

Cache container broken, full of water, log saturated totally. Needs full replacement.

12-Jan-22
At long last the day is here. Monster lane has been on my one day list for some time now well since I started caching really. I was catching up with swearah last week and we saw the new ones come through which got us talking about monster lane. Let's do it, let's go next week! So here we are one week later. Initially we were going to take the deadly treadlys but I managed to borrow some electric scooters to make the trip.
Swearah braved the long grass for this one and came up with the cache in the first place she looked. This cache has sustained some damage, the lid has been cracked and the contents were water logged. Tftc barbbowman

A nice, easy find with jodsta83. Unfortunately the container is broken and was full of water. Needs a little TLC. Sorry we didn't have a replacement on hand today.

30-Dec-21
Today, I started out with a visit to Tinchi Tamba wetlands, with the main objective of following a Wherigo waypoint, but it was also a good excuse to grab a new challenge cache.
After repositioning my vehicle, I headed out by bike along the Deagon Deviation Bikeway to grab a number of *Monster Lane* series geocaches, riding from Brighton Park to Bracken Ridge Road. It was then an opportunity to grab litter at the Brighton Park CITO event.
I closed out the day by driving around Newport as per the *Newport Canal* series. Unfortunately, the rain arrived in patches as I spent a few hours doing this series, in which I ended up opting for my Jeep over my planned bike ride around.

I had loaded my bike in preparation to ride this series this morning prior to the CITO. There were a few cyclists using the track today, and I seemed to get concerning eyes from each passing cyclist thinking I needed maintenance to have pulled over in a random location along the bike lane. I managed to find most of these caches from #32 to #17 without too much difficulty, although there were a few that I had issues with.

After arriving at this geocache, I managed to have a bit of grief at finding this cache. Thinking this would be rather quick meant it was the opposite, and I looked in the obvious place as per the hint to not find any cache. I then checked nearby trees, and then returned to my initial search area, but this time, I attacked it from another angle, and then made the find. Unfortuantely, this cache wasn't in good shape, as the container was falling apart, and the cache was no longer attached/tethered to the tree. Otherwise, the logbook was in good shape. Thanks barbbowman for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

30/12/21 Find #5244
oday found me heading to Brighton Park for a CITO event. And with no hard and fast plans for afterwards, it only made sense that I grab a few caches once done. First I cleared off the Hornibrook in rather woeful weather with Crew153, then met up with SaintsMadHouse and ZacGyver for some ice-cream.
Having said farewell to them, I decided this afternoon would be a good time to finally just pluck another one or two off this section of Monster Lane - one day I will actually complete said mission!
I decided this was to be my last one along here today, as I needed to make tracks back to the car and home. I headed down to the likely spot to make an easy find of a good sized cache. Despite the container lid being broken, the contents all faring quite well. As I exited, I realised just how close I came to getting personal the entire time with a large golden orb spider! Making my apologies to it, I headed back to the path, and back the direction I came from.
Thanks for the cache barbbowman. A reasonable hole made today in the number of Monsters left for me to claim.

It’s Friday which usually means I work half a day or get the day off completely but with a mandatory business meeting planned for Friday afternoon put pay to my caching plans for the day. With the summer sun in play now I was able to still have a little time to grab a couple on the way home. As I have not been close to these caches yet, today I thought I would go for a walk and see what I could get. I got a couple of smilies and a couple of DNF’s and then ran out of time to continue, so I will be back tomorrow, on the bike, to complete the rest.
This was my fourth cache for the day an easy find and the hint was helpful. All good with this cache , thank you to the CO for this cache.

01-Oct-20
I had the opportunity to get out on the bikes with La Kedi again today. She graciously agreed to accompany me along the bikeway to Redcliffe even though she had previously found the majority of the caches along there. Great way to spend the morning. TFTC barbbowman

Found with TrickyT. We are now on the second half of the trail. Tricky is well on top of the scooter and zooming flat out between caches, the new mustang is going great guns. Tricky gave me use of his electric bike which I am mastering well. No crashes yet, these are magic machines, beat peddle power any day.
Been a good bit of gardening here lately, Your tree has had a very good hair cut.
A little exposed but all good here with your cache. Thanks for placing for our enjoyment

Despite the rain today, I was still about to get the pushbike out and grab a few caches with the geokid. We managed 10/14 - there were a few GZ's where she felt uncomfortable and we opted to continue. Neither of us had been on the bike for a while, but it was great to stretch the legs and get up a few clicks. Only a few left on Monster Lane for us now! Thanks so much Barb for placing these caches, we are having a great time turning them into smilies.

All the caches and logs were in great condition. We dipped in TBs along the way. Picked up the two TB's that were in this cache to continue their journey with us tomorrow.
