the bike lane along here has been completely demolished and all greenery destroyed
it could be months ... if ever ... before there is somewhere to replace caches
so I think it is time to let my little monsters rest in peace

every week there is more concrete and less green but at least this time they are keeping access for us on two wheels

Apparently the app doesn't update the coordinates in the waypoint section. But after reading logs we found it quickly a little further on. Tftc

26-Mar-16
I have just checked three different apps and all three show correct co-ords

Plese make sure you are not using n offline list that hs not been updated

Or try refreshing your pge on the app

07-Mar-16
The owner needs to update the coords on the home page as it is not fair to other cachers to be hunting at the listed coords instead of the actual coords.

07-Mar-16
Coordinates changed from:
S 27° 19.634 E 153° 03.029

Coordinates changed to:
S 27° 19.581 E 153° 03.049

Distance from original: 339.8 feet or 103.6 meters.
sorry i did not realise the home page did not update co-ords, i hope it works this time

Fortunately we had noted the new co-ordinances listed by the owner and we made a fairly quick find once we worked out how to get across the ditch. TNLNSL TFTC

I have been staying on the Gold Coast for a week, and today came to Deagon to visit a mate. Whilst he was at work I borrow his bike and rode the Monster Series. It just so happened that I rode it in reverse order, no problem! A very enjoyable series on a nice flat bike track. Great fun!

Quick find.

Cheers

I set off yesterday to collect a few caches to bring my total to 700. After a magnificent walk from Boondall park to the water and back I realised the app I was using had stored my finds but not uploaded them. This morning, alas, the app was upgraded and all my finds deleted before uploading.

All together I loved the monster lane. At first I was annoyed of the traffic noise in the beginning but on the bicycle way were less people so perfect conditions to find caches. I looked forward to walk an the ocean and it was so calm. On the other side there were so many people that it was not relaxing to find the caches especially because of the muggles around. The end of the walk was my favorite! Not many people, no cars and only relaxing with nice caches!

I walked around 30.000 steps which means circa 20 kilometers in 7 1/2 hours with 50 caches which I found. For the number of caches, the monster lane is really well maintained, only some caches are not in a good condition.

Thank you so much for the lovely day, the exercise and I also achieved with this round my 500th milestone!

Decided to have a go at this series. Tried to find as many as I could in one go. Awesome series! TFTC

Hi there barbbowman. We found your cache "Monster Lane 8...Alpha Centauri" at 12:35:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11620.
[Blue]
Today was the day for a bike ride. We have been planning this for a while, but other things tended to crop up. Our plan was to attempt every other cache to the end, and then turn around and attempt the rest on our return trip. The cycle path was very busy today with quite a lot of track clearing works going on - so this may account for all our DNF's. (If the cache was within 2 metres of the edge of the path it has probably been mowed or whipper snippered into cache heaven.
We cycled 18.8km, today which was a bit of a stretch for Penny, and ended up logging 29 caches and DNF'd 5.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The log was full so we slipped in another one.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Mrs NZTravellers had been working in Brisbane and we decided to make a long weekend break out of the opportunity.

We selected our accommodation to enable us too specifically do this Dr Who series as we are avid fans. Miss NZTravellers was gutted at not being able to join us and wanted an INSTANT update when we did here favourite monster the Weeping Angels!!!!!

We hired a couple of bikes from the Shorncliffe township and headed out.

We really enjoyed the whole series with good sized caches and well maintained as we actually were the first to sign several newly replaced logs. All coordinates were spot on and any issues were always sorted with good hints.

A well maintained and fun series of caches a huge thanks to Barbbowman for setting this series up and maintaining it.

Find #377

Very quick and easy find as it seems the previous cacher/muggle decided to this out in the open for the world to see... after signing the log I used my geo-hiding skills and rehid the cache for the next little cacher to find Very Happy

What does one do when not rostered on to slave away until late in the evening?? One caches!! Probably would have been beneficial/wise of one such cacher to actually look at the weather forecast prior to leaving on the adventure... oh well?? why break habit/tradition???

Began the infamous Monster Lane today... but didn't get too far due to lack of motivation.. Thanks for the outing Barbbowman.. And a special thanks for introducing me to the Dr Who Villains/Monsters Very Happy

Some of the earlier Monsters do look a bit silly! CGI had not been invented, and would have blown the budget too. A nice set of caches on the trail, and quick find on a quiet Sunday.

Wish I had a bike with me. My feet wouldn't hurt half as much, and I could have covered a heap more ground!

Found on a trip to OZ for the Stanthorpe MEGA. It is all about the numbers this trip, Ms KR decided to stay in NZ!

Thanks for the hide.

Easy find. Funnnny hint haha
Signed and replaced as found nice and hidden. And off we head again.

Well we had this great trail saved for quite some time now, after buying a second bike the other day we didnt miss 1 weekend before starting this trial.

Bed at 1.30am (not smart) Up at 5am for carboot sale down south
( Guess what I found 2 items a double bike holder for outside the car! Exactly what we need now, and the bikes were in the car on top of each other as I bought it perfect timing!!

Reaching the end of my monster conquering session today.

I made my way along the track, and using my GPSr with the wrong co-ordinates I merrily walked straight past it. When the GPSr wanted me out on the road, I knew I had a problem and realised what was going on - these were the old co-ordinates from a few years ago when the roadworks were being done!

Anyway, my trusty smart phone took me to the right spot, and I quickly had the cache in hand. Log signed and all returned as found.

Thanks for the cache Barb

------A little bit more about the weekend------

I enjoyed a really great weekend of caching with Dawesy321.

A huge thanks for barbbowman for a fantastic series and maintaining the caches.

The highlights of the weekend were:

1. Running into rbcs and caching with them for a while.
2. Having a rainbow lorikeet fly out of a tree directly in front of me.
4. Chatting with the cache owner a few times.
5. Assisting the CO with a little cache maintenance along the way.
6. The strange conversations I overheard while waiting for muggles to leave GZ.

I could not recommend this series enough, it is definitely a stretch and well worth the effort!

This one was very quick and easy cache to find.

The cache is in good order.

Fairy Mother and I thought that with all of the bush caching that we have been doing a bit of a city run would do us some good. After looking over the map and hearing a few runs mentioned in the forums/FaceBook we decided that 'Monster Lane' by 'barbbowman' in Brisbane was the perfect trail to grab.

Our goal was to walk and grab all of the city side of the trail and leave the beach side for another time. The reason for this was A) It was school holidays and Muggles would be congregating on the coast and B) We wanted to be able to move the next day! A good decision it was, as we met our goal and could just walk once at cache #35... We then cabbed it back to the Geo:Ute as our cached-out bodies were unable to get us there!

Thanks for the cache 'barbbowman'.

Find #1215 at 12:59 while on a leisurely ride with MissGeosie taking in a stretch of Monster Lane.

As we turned onto the Lane, MissGeosie requested that we stop for a few caches along the way. Well, if you insist, dear [:X]

We looked and saw that the next one was only 100m ahead so we set our target on it.

MissGeosie found this nicely sized cache (though I may have already sighted it Wink) and then signed it herself. With her own pen.

Thanks for the cache, barbbowman.
