the bike lane along here has been completely demolished and all greenery destroyed
it could be months ... if ever ... before there is somewhere to replace caches
so I think it is time to let my little monsters rest in peace

Now house & dog sitting in Eatons Hill. Today we took our Geo Bikes to tackle the Monster Lane Power Trail. The day started with nice mild weather and 28degrees, but it changed into a very windy ride along the coast, before the end of the day became thunderstorms and rain.
So a bit of a mixed bag weatherwise but a very enjoyable day, with some excellent caches! Love the variety of caches in this series.
This was one of the hardest for us to find. The obvious wasn't the Octopus. Further afield Mr Felix found the Octopus and the cache.

I headed out today on a Monster Caching trail with JACS Team - We had a fantastic time and a great walk.
I am so pleased to say that we had a 100% success rate with the caches we looked for - there were a couple of tricky ones, but we got there in the end.
Thank you for the trail, but I understand it is only now half completed! I will be back to do more soon.
It was a long walk from the previous one, but that's the problem with earthworks...

Overhead branches were throwing out my gos - not to worry! A cache this size will always show itself eventually tftc
So now that we came back to this one, I realised that the dot moved to new coordinates, but waypoints and navigation still use old ones. We thought we were going crazy at first. But it is found in the first place we have seen mozzies today. I don't want to know why there are so many pairs of undies here :-/
I have just checked three different apps and all three show correct co-ords looking at map on app.
I will be down this week to confirm navigation.
Plese make sure you are not using an offline list that has not been updated Or try refreshing your page on the app
Wanted to find a cache today so decided on this one. Only a few cyclists out this morning so once the coast was clear dived in for a quick find. Pretty log book signed. Took shoe laces left uno cards.

The owner needs to update the coords on the home page as it is not fair to other cachers to be hunting at the listed coords instead of the actual coords.
Coordinates changed from:

Coordinates changed to:
S 27° 19.660 E 153° 02.999
Distance from original: 474.1 feet or 144.5 meters.
sorry i did not realise the home page did not update co-ords, i hope it works this time

We had actually walked past this GZ before we realized that the owner had changed the coords so we back tracked and made a quick find. TNLNSL TFTC
Riding past today, MissGeosie and I were saddened to see a very freshly cut stump where this cache used to be. Looks like it's been gone only a day or so.
According to the Tardis Data Core, "Wood lice inspired the creation and look of the Cybermats." Looks like the wood lice have been working overtime here.
Sent a photo to the cache owner, who I see has since disabled it.

Decided to have a go at this series. Tried to find as many as I could in one go. Awesome series! TFTC
This is the 2nd of 5 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
[red]We spent quite some time here on both the outward and return journeys, but we just couldn't locate your cache, so a DNF from us - - - not stating it's not there... just that we couldn't spot it. Maybe it was hanging on one of the branches that have recently been trimmed.

I hung around much longer than I should Eventually found that tricky little cybermat! TFTC barbbowman Enjoying the Monster Lane series and hope I'll get them all one day, though at this rate that day is in the distant future! A TARDIS would help
Mrs NZTravellers had been working in Brisbane and we decided to make a long weekend break out of the opportunity.
We selected our accommodation to enable us too specifically do this Dr Who series as we are avid fans. Miss NZTravellers was gutted at not being able to join us and wanted an INSTANT update when we did here favourite monster the Weeping Angels!!!!!
We hired a couple of bikes from the Shorncliffe township and headed out.
We really enjoyed the whole series with good sized caches and well maintained as we actually were the first to sign several newly replaced logs. All coordinates were spot on and any issues were always sorted with good hints.
A well maintained and fun series of caches a huge thanks to Barbbowman for setting this series up and maintaining it.

DNF # I have no idea.. lol
Seems to me the Cybermats may have stolen my caching vision on this one... I did a very half hearted search for a while but came up empty handed.. cache is probably there.. just my vision was not lol..
What does one do when not rostered on to slave away until late in the evening?? One caches!! Probably would have been beneficial/wise of one such cacher to actually look at the weather forecast prior to leaving on the adventure... oh well?? why break habit/tradition???
Began the infamous Monster Lane today... but didn't get too far due to lack of motivation.. Thanks for the outing Barbbowman.. And a special thanks for introducing me to the Dr Who Villains/Monsters

This one took me 3 attempts. Not because it's ridiculously hard, but because I was looking at the wrong side of the track and at the wrong level as well. Earlier logs gave a few clues and this morning I finally found the little sucker. Phew! Alas, no pen, so a photo of the log will have to do for now.
A nice easy way to start of this path. I have an extra piece of time, interested to see how many I get.

Gotcha !!! Put Mrs Temingi on the plane to visit her sister in Melbourne as a thankyou for coming to the Mega. Now I've got a few days to run around caching and to visit my sister in Cooroy. So... a few more of the Monster Lane series were done on foot today . TFTC
A nice set of caches on the trail, and quick find on a quiet Sunday.
Wish I had a bike with me. My feet wouldn't hurt half as much, and I could have covered a heap more ground!
Found on a trip to OZ for the Stanthorpe MEGA. It is all about the numbers this trip, Ms KR decided to stay in NZ!
Thanks for the hide.

I set out today to get a bunch of caches to try and get close to the 2000 caches goal at mega. Good to get a few more of the monster lane caches ticked off too. Soooo hot out today but I soldiered on for a while. Not an easy find...TFTC
Totalube needed to grab a few caches so that he could hit a milestone at the Mega. He put out the call for people to accompany him as he attacked The Lane. I borrowed a bicycle and joined him.
This one had us stumped for a while. We looked high. We looked low. We looked high. We looked low. Eventually, Totalube called the CO who kindly set us in the right direction (thank you )

Even Cybermen need pets . It is well known that pets are great for people's mental health and when you have had your brain surgically removed from your body and placed into steel, a pet can be of great importance
This one has Selva Girls and I stumped and it took a call to the CO for a bit of a hint.
Thanks

this is the first time i have had the pleasure of company
it was so exciting to not only be able to share the ride with IolantheK but to be able to show why all my little monsters live in the spots they do
congrats to IolantheK ... she joins a very select group who have ridden the whole at once [^]

Well we had this great trail saved for quite some time now, after buying a second bike the other day we didnt miss 1 weekend before starting this trial.
Bed at 1.30am (not smart) Up at 5am for carboot sale down south
( Guess what I found 2 items a double bike holder for outside the car! Exactly what we need now, and the bikes were in the car on top of each other as I bought it perfect timing!!

Out on a lovely Saturday picking up some monsters and after a short walk we hung around and spotted the little cache . TNLNSL TFTC .
Continuing along on my unfound monster journey.
This one had me looking for a while. I stopped here on my way out, there was a muggle workman in the nearby park so I wandered off flagging this one for the way back.
After some time I eventually spotted these tricky guys - clever hide.

No 10 of 10 today. Thanks, barbbowman. Here's the last of the easy ones for the day, as it turned out. Quick find, no problemo.
Historical note: Find no 1788 for me. Guess what year Europeans first settled in Australia?

Recovered and returned, TFTC. Great clue and I needed it, hahah. Such a good series and superbly plotte to enjoy both the ride and the Caches. Well done Barbbowman. This series is the highlight of the north Brisbane caches.
Part of the GC Posse team Kingkeylocksmiths, Marina25, L4MB, ammurphy6 & myself.
So, we (Marina25, L4MB, ammurphy6, Dihillman and myself) had been planning to tackle this series on bicycle for a while now and today was the day. We started at #2 and you can read there for more details about how the day started.
So we left #6 feeling elated and happy to be finding them again and onward to this one we went. We were quickly there and I was watching the battery power on my phone diminish quickly (as I expected it would). I had saved all this series into my phone as an offline list but the constant on and off and GPS usage was using battery power like never before. We also had a paper copy of all the cords, so once my phone was flat, we would move on to the next device and eventually if needed we had the paper back up. We figured we could do this!
Anyway, we found GZ easily enough and then something caught L4MB's eye and soon enough she was making our 'found it' signal. Wow....great hide. Glad to see something a little different and this is what I was expecting at #5 (our DNF). So another nice quick find and we were on our way to the next one. TFTC and the series Barbbowman.

When arriving here read the hint but didn't really get the hang of it. Went through a number of options without luck. I had a preconceived idea of what to look for but nothing like that materialised.
After some 15 mins I was ready to call the search off and was having the one final look around the place, using a wider area to get some idea where it might have been. Then suddenly something caught attention and there it was!
All good here. TFTC, Barbbowman!

- not where we expected it to be!.

------A little bit more about the weekend------
I enjoyed a really great weekend of caching with Dawesy321.
A huge thanks for barbbowman for a fantastic series and maintaining the caches.
The highlights of the weekend were:
1. Running into rbcs and caching with them for a while.
2. Having a rainbow lorikeet fly out of a tree directly in front of me.
4. Chatting with the cache owner a few times.
5. Assisting the CO with a little cache maintenance along the way.
6. The strange conversations I overheard while waiting for muggles to leave GZ.
I could not recommend this series enough, it is definitely a stretch and well worth the effort!

Find #1261 at 11:56 with MissGeosie on our weekly ride down Monster Lane.
This cache was our Monster Lane nemesis. We pulled up and I checked out a couple of places that, upon reflection after our last search, I thought may have held a cache. No, not there.
Then.... finally I spied a faint sign. But I'm sure I looked there last week...?
Oh well. Yup, that's the cache, exactly what I'd expected (in a most awesome colour I've not before seen too). We added our names to the log and then continued on our way.
Thanks for the cache, barb bowman. I'm going to see that one every time I ride along here now

Not a great start to Monster Lane for MissGeosie and me today. We spent a long time looking, getting curious looks from a bikemuggle who rode past us a couple of times, but found nothing.
Having re-read the hint since returning home, I think I have an idea where we should have looked. We'll check this out on our next ride along here.

Booyah Found it!
After finding #6 we nearly went the wrong way to the #7 cache but after a U-turn we were headed in the right direction. At GZ this one had us stumped for a while (it really shouldn't have) but a couple clues left by others wern't completely correct.
- - How awesome is my geo-husband (who usually has a 3 caches per day rule) ..When he said he would take me to Monster Lane I jumped at the chance! And we made it the whole way through starting from #1 (minus a few.)

This one room the longest of all. Knew what I should be looking for but it was attached a little differently than I expected. Found after a little while, pretending to catch my breath as muggles passed. TFTC
This one really had us searching... Honestly, it was one of those caches that once you found it you wondered why the hell you did not find it sooner!
The sneaky cache is in good order.
Fairy Mother and I thought that with all of the bush caching that we have been doing a bit of a city run would do us some good. After looking over the map and hearing a few runs mentioned in the forums/FaceBook we decided that 'Monster Lane' by 'barbbowman' in Brisbane was the perfect trail to grab.
Our goal was to walk and grab all of the city side of the trail and leave the beach side for another time. The reason for this was A) It was school holidays and Muggles would be congregating on the coast and B) We wanted to be able to move the next day! A good decision it was, as we met our goal and could just walk once at cache #35... We then cabbed it back to the Geo:Ute as our cached-out bodies were unable to get us there!
Thanks for the cache 'barbbowman'.

This is our last day in Brisbane and we decided to revisit this series after our attempt 2 days ago. We finished with a total of 30, plus some other caches in between, mostly achieved on shanks pony. Bikes would have been much better but hey we did get the exercise and fresh air. Thanks again barbbowman.
Shhhhhh, be vewwy, vewwy quiet, we're hunting monsters....... "MUM, MUUUUUUUM, HOW FAR????". Well, so much for stealth Second monster on our morning outing tamed and logged, we're moving along the lane (as all the surrounding neighbours can hear Tftc Barb!
