Appointment over on the north side of the river means an hour or so for some caching afterwards. We chose to do a few of the rapidly disappearing Monster Lane geocaches.
I was quite a bit warmer today, and the concrete bikeway was radiating quite a bit of heat. However, the shade at GZ was very welcome. Nice sized container. BTW, wasn't Tom Baker just the best!

Time to hunt some monsters.
I started the Monster Lane sferies back when i began caching and decided to try and complete it.
I stored all the remaining caches (51) and headed out in the early afternoon.
This was find # 3 for the day. This was an easy find, container and contents in good condition, although the log book was a bit damp.
The pen that i have with me today is not the best and my log is feint but readable. Should check the car for a better replacement. Signed and returned as found.
Thanks for placing this series Barb

Travelling around Australia and currently in Queensland.
Now house & dog sitting in Eatons Hill. Today we took our Geo Bikes to tackle the Monster Lane Power Trail. The day started with nice mild weather and 28degrees, but it changed into a very windy ride along the coast, before the end of the day became thunderstorms and rain.
So a bit of a mixed bag weatherwise but a very enjoyable day, with some excellent caches! Love the variety of caches in this series.

I headed out today on a Monster Caching trail with JACS Team - We had a fantastic time and a great walk.
I am so pleased to say that we had a 100% success rate with the caches we looked for - there were a couple of tricky ones, but we got there in the end.
Thank you for the trail, but I understand it is only now half completed! I will be back to do more soon.
Poor Mr Baker - it must have taken hours to do that damn makeup! For what? He just looks like a cactus...

Walked along the path in the heat of the day. Nice and warm for me though I understand not a patch on summer temperatures in these parts. Not a muggle in sight. TFTC
Found the cache with no issues and picked up the TB to take to Japan, UK and USA all in August! TFTC!
Out with rhobocacher and funky monkeyz chilling with all the family's there was 7 of us setting out on this treck that is called monsters lane, great day great caches thanks heaps barb greatly appreciated
Can't wait to smash out a few more in the coming weeks
Can't wait to smash out a few more in the coming weeks
4th find of the day out with Ozpokemasters and our geodogs. Our geodogs dont like horses and as we walked past there was one here which proved to be interesting and omg the stench of the horse poo. TFTC and great to see a container like this one
On a mission today to knock off a few more monsters and get up the steps on my Garmin vivosmart HR. Quick find, nice dry cache. No muggles in sight this time. TFTC
Knowing I had to get outside today if I wanted the souvenirI had to pick somewhere on my route to detour for a cache. The first one I tried needed either a parachute or a water craft and since I had neither of those items in my car I just had to go the extra 200 odd metres and try for an easier one. This was it. Thanks for your caches, so many to choose from!
Picked the wrong time of day to try this series as the school muggles were all meandering home. Had to make my snatch between groups. Dropped off a TB. TFTC

Decided to travel down towards Moreton Bay, Deagon, Shorncliffe and Brighton to try my hand at some night caching along the Monster Lane Series. Have been a Doctor Who fan for many a year. Thought it might be fun to remember some of the characters from the show, And the chance tp pick up a few more caches on the way. Threw the trusty MTB un the Geo Truck and off. Thanks for the great cache and thanks for bringing me here.
Thanks for the great cache and adventure barbbowman

1991, Steve Clark guitarist with Def Leppard, was found dead at his Chelsea flat by his girlfriend, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption combined with prescription drugs. The autopsy revealed he had died from an overdose of codeine and had Valium, morphine and a blood alcohol level of .30, three times the British legal driving limit.

Finally a regular-sized cache in Brisbane. Another nice, quick find. Contents are in great shape.
I have been staying on the Gold Coast for a week, and today came to Deagon to visit a mate. Whilst he was at work I borrow his bike and rode the Monster Series. It just so happened that I rode it in reverse order, no problem! A very enjoyable series on a nice flat bike track. Great fun!
Quick find. A genuine Tupperware, not often you see that!
Cheers

I set off yesterday to collect a few caches to bring my total to 700. After a magnificent walk from Boondall park to the water and back I realised the app I was using had stored my finds but not uploaded them. This morning, alas, the app was upgraded and all my finds deleted before uploading.
Headed out with KerriMG for an hour or so of GCing.
Lovely afternoon for a walk and talk. Found this one easily. TFTC barbbowman.

Out for a stroll & to collect some caches with Nikid1 today so we decided to find some more of the Monster Lane series.
This was our third of the series today. A nice sized container with plenty of swaps. Took a hairy spider & a skeleton hand - the kids will love these for Halloween, & a smilie pin. Left a skeleton, butterfly notebook & ruler. Found myself a nice stick to take on our stroll with us as well, bound to come in handy!

All together I loved the monster lane. At first I was annoyed of the traffic noise in the beginning but on the bicycle way were less people so perfect conditions to find caches. I looked forward to walk an the ocean and it was so calm. On the other side there were so many people that it was not relaxing to find the caches especially because of the muggles around. The end of the walk was my favorite! Not many people, no cars and only relaxing with nice caches!
I walked around 30.000 steps which means circa 20 kilometers in 7 1/2 hours with 50 caches which I found. For the number of caches, the monster lane is really well maintained, only some caches are not in a good condition.
Thank you so much for the lovely day, the exercise and I also achieved with this round my 500th milestone!

Hi there barbbowman. We found your cache "Monster Lane 4...Meglos" at 12:17:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11618.
[Blue]
Today was the day for a bike ride. We have been planning this for a while, but other things tended to crop up. Our plan was to attempt every other cache to the end, and then turn around and attempt the rest on our return trip. The cycle path was very busy today with quite a lot of track clearing works going on - so this may account for all our DNF's. (If the cache was within 2 metres of the edge of the path it has probably been mowed or whipper snippered into cache heaven.
We cycled 18.8km, today which was a bit of a stretch for Penny, and ended up logging 29 caches and DNF'd 5.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Grabbed Trackable: "Troy Mountain (NV)" Green Jeep Travel Bug.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Mrs NZTravellers had been working in Brisbane and we decided to make a long weekend break out of the opportunity.
We selected our accommodation to enable us too specifically do this Dr Who series as we are avid fans. Miss NZTravellers was gutted at not being able to join us and wanted an INSTANT update when we did here favourite monster the Weeping Angels!!!!!
We hired a couple of bikes from the Shorncliffe township and headed out.
We really enjoyed the whole series with good sized caches and well maintained as we actually were the first to sign several newly replaced logs. All coordinates were spot on and any issues were always sorted with good hints.
A well maintained and fun series of caches a huge thanks to Barbbowman for setting this series up and maintaining it.

How can you not like a monster that's a cactus? I was able to see this cache from the bike path, "Barb, this one's really easy!" I said (forgot to turn my brain-mouth filter on again, oops!). "That's because it's not supposed to be there" she replied. Oh. I got to sign another fresh, new log and we placed the cache container back in its proper hiding spot. Thanks Barb
Now that really is Tupperware in the bush, easy find but as it was in the open. TFTC

What does one do when not rostered on to slave away until late in the evening?? One caches!! Probably would have been beneficial/wise of one such cacher to actually look at the weather forecast prior to leaving on the adventure... oh well?? why break habit/tradition???
Began the infamous Monster Lane today... but didn't get too far due to lack of motivation.. Thanks for the outing Barbbowman.. And a big thanks for introducing me to the Dr Who monsters

A nice set of caches on the trail, and quick find on a quiet Sunday.
Wish I had a bike with me. My feet wouldn't hurt half as much, and I could have covered a heap more ground!
Found on a trip to OZ for the Stanthorpe MEGA. It is all about the numbers this trip, Ms KR decided to stay in NZ!
Thanks for the hide.

Well we had this great trail saved for quite some time now, after buying a second bike the other day we didnt miss 1 weekend before starting this trial.

Continuing on from the last cache, I arrived here to find the cache in full view. The inside of the cache had water in it, but the log is dry. After signing the log, I emptied the water out, before hiding the cache where I think it was supposed to be
I was on a mission to eradicate the remainder of the monsters from my map. This was to be my 8th battle against the insurgents.
I had checked their hiding places and found there were 7 remaining. I had searched for two of them before with no luck but I was determined to complete my mission today.
I was on a roll now. 2 quick slaughters and a nice wide path to get to the next one. A quick assault and Meglos was mine. Glad to see a larger beast here.
TFTC and now to complete the clearance of this next of villains.

Part of the GC Posse team Kingkeylocksmiths, Marina25, L4MB, ammurphy6 & myself.
Headed out to find a few more caches, in an area we had started previously.

So, we (Marina25, L4MB, ammurphy6, Dihillman and myself) had been planning to tackle this series on bicycle for a while now and today was the day. We started at #2 and you can read there for more details about how the day started.
We moved on from #3 to here. It is nice and short between stops and a great experience for the newbies. We must be getting better at this as the next one was practically jumping out at us. A very quick find, no clue needed and we all had our names signed and we were off. We had a pace to keep if we were going to get to the end before going home that day. TFTC and the series Barbbowman!

------A little bit more about the weekend------
I enjoyed a really great weekend of caching with Dawesy321.
A huge thanks for barbbowman for a fantastic series and maintaining the caches.
The highlights of the weekend were:
1. Running into rbcs and caching with them for a while.
2. Having a rainbow lorikeet fly out of a tree directly in front of me.
4. Chatting with the cache owner a few times.
5. Assisting the CO with a little cache maintenance along the way.
6. The strange conversations I overheard while waiting for muggles to leave GZ.
I could not recommend this series enough, it is definitely a stretch and well worth the effort!

Unfortunately, my brain can not remember this particular cache. but thats probably a good thing because it means it wasn't too hard to find!
-- How awesome is my geo-husband (who usually has a 3 caches per day rule) ..When he said he would take me to Monster Lane I jumped at the chance! And we made it the whole way through starting from #1 (minus a few.

Nearing the end of my run today. This big one was nicely hidden, managed to spook (and be spooked) by a well camouflaged pony nearby. Favorite from me for a great series
