In Featherston making a delivery, so took the oppy to complete this multi.Like some previous finders, I couldn't find headstone 'C', so used checksum to calculate. A very well cared for, peaceful and poignant cemetery in a restful location. I found the cache after a few minutes of looking and was observed by some curious and friendly hogs, which made this multi very memorable! TFTC J'N'K
We soon gathered the required numbers in this large cemetery, but finding the cache took us quite a while, as for us it seemed a little southwest of our calculated coordinates. TFTC
A good start to the day A great day out finding caches with Kimmy+co and Geeves90TFTC
It's a biglt warm today, but but the piggies kept us company on our hunt at the final coordinates.Did need multiple sets of eyes for this cache
Trouve ! / Found it ! Une cache que je voulais absolument finir. J'ai mis du temps mais elle sera trouve. Merci 4451me cache trouve.Merci J 'N' K pour la cache A cache that I absolutely wanted to finish. It took me a while but she will be found. Thank you 4451th cache found.Thank you J 'N' K for the cache
Heading up to Masterton and had time to collect a few caches. Previously been her to collect the information but hadnt found the cache. Read previous logs and was braced for a long search. Fortunately after checking a few likely spot the cache was in hand. Thank for the smiley
The Grand Geocaching Tour of New Zealand Cemeteries rolls on! Dodged showers to work my way around the cemetery, locating graves. A lovely historic cemetery! FP from me. Found all but one, but easy enough to extract coordinates anyway. A struggle to locate cache at GZ, as GPS pointing at an obvious hint object that wasn't correct. After about 20 minutes of hunting, made a PAF, and redirected to a completely different location quite a few metres away. Instant find there, however. All good in the container, signed and returned as found. This cache gets me closer to two challenges: Day 19 of 28 in the WoC streak challenge, and one of my last four dates remaining on my hidden dates grid. Tftc!

This was a most enjoyable multi in the cool of the evening. We enjoyed the chance to wander around the cemetery collecting information as we went. Then it was an easy find at GZ. TFTMC

A very cool place to spend an hour or so trying to locate the correct numbers. I went through a few times, but still missed one! And that was the one where I thought that it should be easy. I am glad the check sum was provided, and soon I was signing the log. TFTC!!
Found with Itchyfeet2020 and Mr-Mcgoo. This is a multi dot day. I have over 70 multi dot-days remaining so this is a multi year project, so I like to get them when opportunity allows.
Found with The Seagnoid while Mr McGoo watched on. A great day to take our time in the Rapa. A cruisy caching day today, no big rush and the sun is out. Thank you J.N.K I do enjoy these ones when you have the time.
I needed this cache for the November spelling challenge In Canterbury. I most of the answers within a reasonable time. I am curious as to why so many soldiers died in Dec 1918 -maybe the influenza pandemic.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache J 'N' K.

After walking around the old Graves 3 x and the more recent 2x i still couldn't find one. Plus I had an answer for another that totally didn't make sense either. After about 2 1/2 hours of looking and getting frustrated I figured out what the correct and answer should be on my one not make sense. Then it was just a matter of doing the sum to get the last number. So windy here but very happy with a smiley face
Found on a day's trip to South Wairarapa, picking up PWGT caches, Adventure Labs for The Science of Discovery event, and generally attempting to clean up the caches I haven't found previously.
The last cache of the day, and the last cache in Featherston. Another one of these multis that I didn't really have the time to stop and look for on previous trips. I had planned this trip to finish up here so that if I had time I would have a go.
Pulling up I saw that the gate was being locked so it was good that I hadn't driven in. Wandered around the gravestones and collected most of the clues. There was one that I couldn't identify, but with the checksum I tried a spot and got a success from the checker. Headed on over and after a short search had the cache in hand. Signed and replaced. All good here, and TFTC

Woohoo, so glad to knock this one off. Was definitely hunting in the wrong place the last 3 times.
Many many thanks to J&K for their patience with me!

Argh frustrating as someone has found since our last DNF. Will msg our coordinates to the CO in case we're completely off track
(# 6397). Today was a trip across the big hill to grab some caches. A quickish find after taking a while finding the required information. Everything in order. Had a great chat to the oinkers nearby. Thanks for bringing me here.
Researched both in the cemetery and online. Countsum matched, but just couldn't locate the cache (much to the amusement of the oinkers lol)
A good way to spend an hour on a sunny winter's afternoon. We never found Ann or Rose but using an educated guess were able to get confirmed coordinates. On the way out I did spot an Ann that matched the answer but not the image.
#7965. A day trip over to the Wairarapa was organised with Infoferret and Barefootguru as an escape from our recent COVID19 lock down. It was great to be back over the hill geocaching once more. We spent most of the day cleaning out isolated caches down in the far SW of the realm before heading up to Boggy Pond and then over to Featherston. Arrived here at sunset and with fading light we fanned out to locate the clues. Thankfully the CO had selected a diverse but rather distinctive group of headstones so we eventually located all but one of them. The last few needed a torch to read the details on the gravestones. I plugged in my best guess at the coordinates and saw a likely spot. BFG calculated the final numbers with help of the checksum and came up with the same spot and numbers I had guessed! It was at this stage that IF "remembered"where she had previously found the the cache. Extracted the cache and logbook. Signed it and replaced as found. Thanks J'N'K for a well constructed multi-cache and a chance to have a good wander around this rural cemetery. It was sad seeing so many who died around 1918 when the flu pandemic struck NZ 100 years ago. Those folk had it a lot worse than the current pandemic.
Thought we’d tackle this while passing out of Featherston. Our estimation of a small rural boneyard was a bit out! We still managed all but one clue in the fading light, and the cache followed shortly after. I found the ‘fairy’ lights on the graves added to the eerie feeling. Nicely put together with distinctive clues and minimal calculations, thanks J’N’K!
Found today with DaVinciHunter en route to Wellington. I’ve had my sight on this one for years but never got around to finding it. Even with two sets of eyes it took awhile to find all the info necessary but we got there. Final safely in place. TFTC.
Didn't find Rose but got the rest of the puzzle clues on two separate visits Then a bit of interpolation did the rest Thanks for setting up an interesting little multi in a quiet and restful spot that I pass several times each month Have finally got around to doing this one! November 1918 sure was a bad month Can't believe how disastrous the 'flu epidemic was TFTC

I enjoyed wandering around looking at all the gravestones, found all but one and was able to work out the coordinates from that then after finding the cache on the way back to the car I found the missing one. TFTC for an enjoyable multi J 'N' K

This is my second attempt at this one - the first was thwarted by a lack of time, not being able to see the photos clearly on my phone screen, and a blustery day, which dampened my enthusiasm for the search somewhat. Today, time was on my side as I wasn't after numbers, and I'd learnt from my previous mistake and printed out the photos and questions in advance. The rain also decided to keep away, although there was a cold wind blowing.
I quickly paid my respects to William, Sister, AAron, Arthur, Pop and Sheila. However, Rose and Ann proved elusive, and I wasn't able to make their acquaintances. So rather than worry the locals by wandering around the cemetery for a third time, I sat down, and thought for a bit, after which I'd settled on a plausible seeming spot, so off I went. As usual when there atre 2 possibilities, I try the wrong one first, but soon I was adding my name to the 'roll of honour'. Cache is in great condition BTW.
I went on my way, reflecting on the amazing variety of ways people have chosen to remember their relations, and the tragedy of the 1918 Influenza outbreak.... this brought that home to me. Have a well deserved FP, and TFTC..

Returning to this cache after almost 2 and a half years - no coordinates just retracing our steps from last time. How did we not find it I will never know... found within 2 minutes of being out of the car. Unfortunately no pen to sign as we decided to come back on a whim but have a photo for proof if needed !
Found while driving over to the Wairarapa for a weekend of sightseeing and some cycling. This was our second attempt for this cache after giving up last time due to a freezing cold wind. This morning it was sunny and calm and we again enjoyed the challenge to find the last two stones and then the cache. Finding the latter we were in good company but didn't mention "apple sauce". TFTC
I think it was 2015 when I first attempted this cache. I had called with occasional cacher, Netty who enjoys these types. However, our plans were stymied when we spotted a sign that meant the third member of our team was not welcome. So while Netty walked geofoodle, Biddy along the road, I completed a quick tour of the cemetery in the hope that I could find the required information. By locating five sites, I think I did pretty well.
An after-work caching expedition yesterday took me up to 5999 finds. I was keen to make my next find a different type to my previous milestones (number 1000 was a letterbox, 2000 a traditional, 3000 an event, 4000 a wherigo and 5000 an earthcache). Mysteries and multis were the only realistic options unless I was prepared to wait a while; with a multi being preferable due to there being less of them. It didn't take me long to decide on this cache, although I had a couple of backup solved puzzles should I not be successful here.
I returned today needing three more pieces of information; one site I classified as unmissable, another as quite easy and the third as potentially difficult. My first thought on arrival is that this place is bigger than I remembered. I made my second tour and "improved" by gravestone find tally from five to um five. Undeterred, I reversed direction in the thinking that some objects are more easily seen from different viewpoints. More importantly, I decided to place greater emphasis on searching for other objects in the photos. This method soon produced results with me finding two more gravestones. This still left the one I had previously thought was unmissable and I failed to find it again. While I could have done some reverse engineering to calculate the final value, this would have left a hollow feeling of satisfaction. I then embarked on tour four in a slower manner than previously. Fortunately, I found what I was after although it no longer resembles the image in the cache description.
Everything fitted in to place nicely and I soon had some great looking final coordinates. I made my way to the location and instantly discovered the nicely concealed and protected cache in immaculate condition. Find number 6000, yahoo!!!
Thanks, J 'N' K for another terrific cache.

Cache # 4,202 - success at last today for a J'N'K cache! This one took quite a while, but was our last targeted one for the day, and CelloJoss and I had plenty of time for it. Wandered the cemetery at least twice. Finally found B, and as a previous cacher noted it was incredibly hard to read - the last 6 years have obviously not been kind to the headstone as I am sure it was much more legible originally. Never found 1 of the clues at all, but the geochecker helped with the answer, and then cache was found at the final coordinates, although even that took a bit of time. Love this series, though. TNLNSL. TFTC!
We arrived in Featherston Friday night did the Rimutaka walk on Saturday took us most of the day to do that its was an awesome day weather views and company. But today was planned to get this multi cache as its the only close one to Featherston town we hadn't gotten yet. Once we got to ground Zero no one about so we started looking for the clues, I think we walked it nearly 3 times to ensure we had it correct, did the check some and geocheck and yes we had it right so then it was off to find the cache, That was a quick find cache was all dry, we signed the log along with 2 Bullbars and placed it back exactly where we found it. I'm glad we did it before it got too hoy. once of the clues is hard to read for the answer but we got it in the end. thank you for this multi gets a favorite for getting us to use our brain a bit harder than we thought we would and for the lovely surroundings of the trees. TFTMC now back for a well deserved cuppa.
Wow, what a great multi-cache, thank you! We enjoyed finding the clues and visiting the graves. Just FYI - Clue A was hard to find due to damage and William's grave was hard to read. Also the cache itself is about 6 metres North of the co-ordinates. A fun afternoon caching experience:-)
Have been here before but was a DNF, and have no idea what I did with the note. So with the help of a friend we searched for all the clues. All are there though one is a bit damaged and getting hard to find. TFTC Oh and boy do those pigs stink.
I'm not calling this a DNF - but I spent about fifteen minutes in this beautiful area, before I admitted defeat at trying to read the images on my mobile phone screen. I will return with them printed out on a peace of paper for another enjoyable wander.
This is one of those delightful caching experiences that require you to put time to one side and simple allow yourself to be taken along on the journey. Today was one of those days when we had the luxury of time.
It's salutary and sobering acquainting yourself with the information that gets presented to you in a cemetery. In this instance it was the collection of information for a purpose. And that proved to be quite challenging too.
Finally we managed to deduce the final coordinates without having picked up all the needed data. And off to GZ.
More or less a straightforward find on this one.
All in order, log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited here with the boywonder, z that is.
TFTC - these ones are favourites of mine, even though I find myself leaving a little piece of my heart behind. Well done J' N 'K for putting this together.

Decided to drive over the hill from Wellington on a gorgeous Saturday to do some Wairarapa multis. I always love cemetery caches!
It took me an hour or so of wandering to collect the info. I didn't find one of the graves but the sum check helped me out. I was very excited to see the piglets as I circumnavigated the boundaries. Sad to see that one of the piggie babies had recently died.
Once I had GZ in hand it took me a few passes around several spots before I got my hands on the well-hidden cache. -TB TFTC

Thoroughly enjoyed doing this cache. Took 2 visits to get the correct answer and realise I'd made an error the first time here. Dropped a TB. Cache all good. TFTC
This took me a while but as I'd had a couple of quick finds I reckoned I could spare the time. An hour was spent wandering around the cemetery locating the required graves. I never actually found one of them but the checksum and Geochecker did the job and I quickly located a well hidden and somewhat lonely cache.

I love wandering round cemeteries and have had this one printed out since I used to work over here regularly a few years ago. Today seemed a good day to have the wander round as the original plan had long since been abandoned. Found the first two quickly and then one by one till they were all completed. Searched in a few different places before finally going a bit deeper in one of earlier places I'd checked. The maintenance check by the CO's really helped because that confirmed the cache was still there. Very pleased to only just save this one from being classed unloved. Had an interesting conversation with someone from the council who had made the effort to come out on a Sunday to take photos of some marked and unmarked graves for someone - gold star for her on a day off and being so respectful to take the time for the quiet and refection around that. A favourite for so many reasons. TFTC #8332
Spent a long time looking for this cache. Easily over an hour and a half... Finding the information was rather straight forward but finding the cache on the other hand. Gave up once the rain started to come in. Will definitely be back for this one!
Searched and searched with no luck. To well hidden I guess. Can we have another hint please. Lol
No trouble finding the clues, but searched for quite some time at GZ with no luck. Lots of rubbish and flowers blown from the cemetery but no sign of a container.
Got the co-ords correct but couldnt find the final cache- will have to go back. So much fun finding the correct graves though. With troy222
Enjoyed our walk exploring the cemetery. We couldn't read the writing on one but managed to work out the final anyway. tftc
Had fun finding all these. Was easier than what I thought it would be. Look deep into some of the pictures and the location becomes more obvious. Not so much fun in the rain! Thanks for the challenge. TFTC.
Nice easy cache done on a stinking hot Sunday morning. I was lucky enough to have one of the neighbours of the cemetery with me to help find each point! Tftc
Bkj97 couldn't resist another J'N'K cemetery headscratcher. Fortunately this cemetery is more linear in its structure so a grid search is possible. Met a local who was passing through who was interested in our quest and had heard about that geo stuff from a friend in Oz. He looked at our photos and happened to know Aaron and pointed us in that direction. He also told us that Aaron was a keen hunter and had been tragically killed in a fence crossing / hunting accident. We continued and after the local left we had a punt at the GZ location despite a piece of missing info and were right on the money first time. Another interesting diversion. We particularly liked the rotary club wall with the rescued old headstones. Favourite added. T4TCSL
Found with little blue hen while in the area for a couple of days. (apologies for repetitive logs but LBH gave details) Must check out any others in the series still to do.TFTCSL
Found with Just-Lookin and tmann421 on a sunny day of caching in the Wairarapa. TFTC
Spent the weekend in the Wairararapa collecting caches and finishing on the Sunday with a hike up to Blue Range Hutt from Kiriwhakapapa. Great weather and a great weekend where I teamed up with tmann421 and Princess-Emily. Lots of fun and enjoyed the variety of caches in the area.
A fun multi and quick find at the final location.

With four of us searching for all the pieces of the puzzle from the photos, it still took us an hour or so. Then all our numbers added up just fine. And there it is, in good kit. Thank you for the fun.
I stopped by here today to check out the Featherston Cemetery, having enjoyed a similar cache of the C.O in Ormondville ; unfortunately the rain was setting in and I had places to go, other caches to find (my visit to the Wairarapa was specifically to find the Southernmost caches in the North Island at Cape Palliser, for a Challenge cache, GC4AT3X) so I moved on.
Another time (tomorrow maybe?).

11584… We were quickly guided by the Kunekune, one was quite content, taking a Rest whilst Peacefully dozing in the warm sunshine. Many thanks for the multi in Featherston.
Introducing KK33NZ to geocaching, and as we both like the solemnity an tranquility of cemetaries this was an indeed place to start. Enjoy visual clue puzzles and also enjoy reading headstones and observing the different ways families and communities honour their loved ones. Clues were excellent. (For last cache, find the headstones in the picture, and all will make sense). Love the Kunekune pigs. Loved the fact that the train went past tooting to warn people in Featherston. Quick find. TFTC
We stopped at my sister's place in Featherston for coffee and a catch up, and bro-in-law decided he'd accompany us to the cemetery. It was great having some local knowledge as he knew where to find Aaron (an ex-pupil of his), otherwise we would have had great difficulty tracking him down.
I was searching in completely the wrong spot when StreetWalker turned up the cache.
Another interesting cemetery, thanks for bringing me here.

#4339. An extensive cemetery that was very interesting to wander around. Our local guide pointed out the grave stones of a number of his relatives, plus the large number of deaths from flu in November 1918. Some local porkers were interested in what we were up to at GZ; cache found after a short search. TFTC.
Cool breeze today but a quiet wander with the family around the graves was enjoyable. TFTC.
Enjoyed a pleasant wander aroung this familiar spot. It was quite interesting wandering around looking at the different styles of headstones here. Once I had done the calcs, I had to wait a few minutes for some muggles to depart, but then a quick find in a well guarded spot.

We enjoyed wandering through the cemetery learning about the lives of those who now reside here. A lovely feeling here. Tftc and for bringing us here.
Found it after exploring the cemetry, a great way to find out about local history etc, especially with the number of military related graves due to the nearby military camp that is now long gone. My son and his girlfriend helped me on this one, a good team effort.
Second time lucky. I had far more difficulty than I should have with the final, the GPSr was putting me amongst trees about 6 metres north of the cache. I checked the obvious places but missed the cache , so it required another visit, found cache eventually
Found on a cache trip in the Wairarapa area with janemay on a lovely sunny day , TFTC
An enjoyable cache to do, although very sad to see a small new grave in the cementry today. Thanks for the cache
Another enjoyable cache in J 'N' K's interesting cemetery series. Took a little while to gather up all the required information and take photographs, and I feel that I know this cemetery pretty well now! I had far more difficulty than I should have with the final, the GPSr was putting me amongst vegetation about 6 metres north of the cache. I checked the obvious places but missed the one obvious place where the cache was and then hunted around for quite a bit before eventually finding it. It just wasn't my day! Signed log, TFTC.
Always enjoy J'N'K's caches, especially their multi's, and this was no exception. Enjoyed wandering around gathering the required info, struggling to find one, which we manged to nail in the end. TFTC
Another good fun and well set out J'N'K cache. Nice walk around the area getting the required answers then a good quick cache find. Gets its first favourite point from me. SL TFTC

Was on my way back to Wellington and was running early so thought that I would stop off in Featherston and see if I could put up this multi, after arriving at the entrance to the cemetery , I thought that I might just leave the car out at the front entrance and walk from there. I was glad that I did as it was getting later in the day and while I was half way though searching for all the information to solve it the local security came around and decided to lock the front gate.
After a through search though all the area I was able to find most of the required info, well enough so that I was able to figure out where the final GZ of the cache was and end the end that was all that matters. I will however next time I am passing the area if I have spare time come back and check the rest of the area out to see if I can find the balance of the information. Arriving at the final GZ it only took a few seconds to track down the cache, decided to rescue Bob Hasselhofand move it to a new home, thanks for placing another interesting cemetery cache and for bringing to this interesting location, TFTC LNSL (4392)

Volia. With the help of some porcine advisors its location was obvious. Not quite where the gps said gz was but an obvious location.
got all the clues with check sum of 50, searched high and low but still could not find the Cache.
Nice weather.
Nice weather.
A rather early start today, arrived just on sunrise and the light of day was definitely needed, this is a big place and some of the clues were hard to spot. Had some friendly locals greet me as I wandered around, which was a great reminder that it was about breakfast time Bit of a search required to find the cache as my GPSr was pointing slightly off true GZ (which was a very likely place) so wasted a bit of time there before extending my search radius. Got it eventually.
