Quick find and had a chat to the owner of the property who was aware and thought it was a great idea
We are slowly winding our way towards Alexandra and enjoying stopping to pick up caches along the way.Lots of room to park here. The church could do with a bit of a tidy up.No problems making the find. Thanks for putting it here
The next leg of rattll and my South Island road trip, whatever number this one is. Today, we're starting in Middlemarch, heading up to Ranfurly, then coming back down the Manuherikia River to Alexandra. After our morning cycle, time to hit the road. We've discovered that one of our indicator lights on the van has stopped working, nowhere to get it fixed before Alex, so no time to dawdle (except for some caches, of course).A quick find at GZ, as per the hint. All good. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Here in the south with FMZ for the Dunedin mega this weekend. We thought wed get some much needed R&R in Queenstown first, but it of course caching along the way. Stopped in front of the church to organise a drink and FMZ saw that there was a cache in the vicinity. But alas, we had no cell reception, so caching instincts were put to good use. TFTC.
Stopped for a break here on our drive towards Queenstown. Then thought there's probably a cache here, so checked. The icon showed up but no details because no coverage. Took a guess at where it might be and found it - sweet! Cute little church. TFTC!
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we are/were staying near Ranfurly in Central Otago for a couple of days today we decided to drive through to Middlemarch & clean up some caches on the way, with the main focus being the The Sutton Salt Marsh area this cache, on the way to Middlemarch, was easily found, logbook signed & safely/securely replaced in position were pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,278 for us!
With Easter weekend upon us we decided to take a quick trip to Otago so we could ride the rail trail bike track. This has been on our bucket list for years so we decided last week that we would pack up the campervan and come and do it.Todays plan was to carry along the rail trail to Middlemarch find the caches along the way (and a few others that were nearby). With that challenge achieved we were heading back to Clyde in preparation of the next stage of our adventure. We have been impressed with the beautiful buildings in this area, and this is one of themThanks for placing this cache and thanks for the smiley.
A few spots of rain today, couldn't access the area when I was this way 2 year ago due to flooding.
A quick find with 4Clubs on our way to Waipiata for a couple of nights. The hint was very helpful! TFTC

I had a quick look on the way up heading north to Naseby but no good as I had interpreted part of the hint, not the other. Had a think after I left and the penny dropped! Redeemed on the journey back home. cache all good and well hidden tftc
Finally back from riding a loop from here to Waipiata and then Daisybanlk with Mrs KC and the daywalks. I had looked there, but had felt too far in so, fortunately, Mr daywalk found it for me.

Nice old church..cache found in good condition..lots of thistles as guardians signed and returned as foundtftc
Beautiful wee church, so took the time to look around the exterior. Two of the windows had clear glass, so was able to peek inside too. I had heard about this place from a friend who used to live in the area. Found with Flamingo4850. TFTC.
Took a while to find this one. But we were sure it was there so keep looking but it was in the obvious place all the time.
Heading down to Middlemarch then Lake Mirhingerangi on the way home. Enjoyed a long weekend at Naseby. Lovely to find out some more history from this area.

Thanks for this cache, drawp. I've had a quick sortie to the Maniototo while on a short break in Dunedin... lots of driving !
When I was a High School in Dunedin, one of my classmates spent weekends up at/near Kokonga on her family's farm; she caught the Railcar up every Friday - we didn't really understand it all at the time ! A lovely spot.

All I managed to find was an electric fence and where the cache probably used to be.
Spent the day as part of support crew for Frame Family’s husband and friends. In between rest spots we were able to geocache. Hoping for a number of finds.
Took a bit of a hunt here but got there in the end. Tftc

Caching on the road near the rail trail with Kerynz and being support crew while the boys are doing the whole track in one day! Shouldn’t have taken us as long as it did! TFTC.
Heading to omakau for the weekend with Jessflett made a detour via macraes to show Jess the hole in the ground .
Perfect opportunity to grab a couple of pngs along a different route.
Took a while as no coverage and couldn't read the hint ,cache had migrated slightly and was buried in long grass. Put back where (no I have coverage ) the hint suggested.. Tftc

Out for a ride today from Ranfurly to Middlemarch with half the team finishing at Hyde which worked well for the transport. Short side trip to this and found quickly. Signed and we were on our way to catch the others. Weather is threatening but holding off at this stage.

We were moving that fast this morning there was no way I could stop for a cache, we did Ranfurly to here in 50 minutes, the guides say 2 hours! We were due to pick up another couple of riders to our group here, and with the early arrival was able to get this cache.

Staying in Middlemarch for a couple of days and todays plan was to head to Swinburn caching all the way. Nice quick find and later realised I had written the wrong year in a couple of logs - this being one of them oooops!!! 18 should be 19 TFTC
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 6 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more. I had shifted my snail shell inland to Ranfurly the other day.
A nice old church.
Cheers for the cache

Out and about on an other caching trip to get to 3000 finds before the end of the year. This one seemed to have been under water with the flooding that happened a week ago. The log was a bit wet but all good This was an easy park and grab and on to the next one. TFTC
Stopped here on the way south to Dunedin this afternoon. Found the cache after a short search, I missed it on the first pass and picked it up on the second. Not sure what has become of the old church, it now looks rather abandoned and there are no signs of any sort to indicate what it once was. Signed log, TFTC.
Bit harder to find now as no cell coverage, so no hints or descriptions not available. Relying on GPS
Taking the long way home from the Geofest. Through Danseys Pass and down SH 87 to Mosgiel for the night, before my flight home tomorrow morning. What a great drive, some of the scenery was just amazing. Cheers and TFTC

We arrived in Dunedin today and traveled to Oamaru for the 2017 Geofest through Ranfurly, Nasbey and Danseys Pass. We attempted many caches throughout the long hot day and as it was the Geofest we bumped into fellow geocachers as well as a few muggles along the way. We were travelling with Keylev, UncleSam, Stik-a-Crane so to save log paper signed as Team SEAC 17.

Day 3 on the trail. Rain just setting in. Lovely little church, shame you can't take a look inside. Thanks for the cache.
I'm down in Otago to cycle the Otago Rail Trail over a relaxed 5 day period and took the opportunity to find a few geocaches along the way. Day 4 was from Ranfurly to Hyde and I took a bit of a detour from the trail to take a look for this cache, which was quickly found at GZ. TFTC!
Decided to head off to the St Bathans market day so now on way home caching as we go. Take care where you step, there were people "deposits" close to the cache hide. TFTC
We stopped by this lovely church and had look for this cache, easy found out there!

A straightforward find while cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail. Collected Claudine and Amorine's travel bug R4NMW3 which is quite wet and has been languishing in this cache for a month or so and will send it on its way
Thank you drawp for this cache.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. We landed in CHCH late Friday night and after picking up the rental car we bee-lined it straight to Dunedin to grab a few hours sleep before the mission truly started.
The goal for today was to locate a certain few geocaches which help for certain challenges that we are all currently working on, and to explore some pretty cool country, before getting to tomorrows starting point in Omarama. We thoroughly enjoyed this day of the mission and saw some pretty awesome places, and managed to achieve most of what we wanted. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches, and I apologize in advance for the copy and past logs!
After wandering around Sutton Salt lake we headed North to Naseby. We had some great scenery as we drove along and was able to stop in a few places to grab any nearby caches which were near.
Another neat looking church, spotted the tell tale signs of a hide after qucikly checking a few places. Thanks for the hide.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
After driving down from Christchurch last night, sleeping in the car in Dunedin , and getting a good early start this is the practice day for the planned mission for tomorrow , thats not to say we are not taking the day seriously, but there were roads to travel, views to see (so unlike what we were used to in the Waikato) and of course caches to grab.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Having just left Sutton Salt Lake we were continuing our journey, with plenty of banter and discussions between caches of solving societies problems, Yeah Right. More like and endless stream of B*llSh1t
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
While grabbing this cache I did wonder what Kokonga meant, and glad to read the description now and it all makes sense. Nice little spot.

A lovely wee church here. The day seemed to be improving, at least the drizzle had stopped and the fog was burning off. It all came back later though. Typical!
