In Wang for a few days R&R and after visiting friends in Yarrawonga I had some time to grab a few smilies on the way back to Wang. Looked at the map and saw this series was on a bike/walking trail. I was quite pleased to be able to do them all by car as walking isn't that easy at the moment. Thanks for taking over this series tattboy1
Found on our way home to Echuca after visiting family
in Wodonga. Signed and replaced as found.
Thanks heaps

I logged this series in reverse order since the caches seemed to be on that side of the road. All containers were in good shape. Some of the logs which were once postit notes have become messy but I always found somewhere to write K.B. in red pen on some part of the log. Thanks for the caches and to the person / people who have volunteered to maintain them.
Geofamily trip to Victoria... Cool!
Mrs Moneydork, Moneydork, sushilord and I left Friday morning for a 4 day jaunt over the border to find a cache or two
Two nights in Wangaratta and then a night in Bendigo left me with 10 DNFs and 205 cache finds one of which was a FTF
Day 3 was Wangaratta to Bendigo as there is a particular wool mill there that geomum loves to visit [^] As with any family, when geo mum is happy... everyone else is [^]
Todays DNFs numbered 1 and the finds numbered 66 with some interesting caches and experiences amongst them.... not the least of them being me falling off of the walk the plank cache At least I found a PT there to make up for the fall
I'd never met purpledreamer and it seems that I missed out on meeting a lovely lady
I've only managed to find a few of her cache hides and Purpledreamers Big Purple Box is one that I really remember as it was a HUGE cache in an OUTSTANDING location [^]
Hence I enjoyed this small series and it's a shame that some are offline or achived

The geofamily are off on another trip to Mexico. Fun, sore backsides (for some) and Dad getting the geomobile stuck and breaking his bike, TWICE were the highlights of the trip. One of the running jokes for the trip was 'If it's 2.5T it's laying on the ground, if it's 2.5D it's under that pile of rocks or in the open, if it's listed as large we are looking for an eclipse tin' which came about due to a number of early finds. The lasting memory from this trip will be the grass seeds!!!
We worked our way along this trail.
Thanks for the cache purpledreamer.

Our last find in Wangaratta.. Time to hit the road back towards Geelong. I have 16 more finds to make my 1000th.
#277 Second of thirteen finds for the morning on a quick caching trip around Wangarrata to break the drive to Dubbo. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC
The log was full of tiny post it notes just shoved in, I have taken them all out and left a stone paper log and a path tag
I was in Melbourne for an appointment, TeamThommo decided they would take me home and come and stay for a few days during the school holidays.
TT had plans of filling some dates in her grid.
This was one of the caches we found to do that.

I'm really sorry in advance for the lame generic log but the more I think about the time I don't have at the moment the more I have decided a generic log is better than just TFTC or no log at all.
Today saw us out and about for the third day whilst based at Geogranni's.
This was one of the caches we found, we are currently trying to fill a few squares in out hidden date and hidden month grid. Thank you for supplying us with a cache to do that.

I had so much fun on our little roadtrip!
Me, boo09, becca85 & GemmaSistema headed to Wangaratta for the night.
Day 1 was huge with 50 finds, lots of which were at night by torchlight- we even got bogged!
Day 2 we got rained out in the end but still had an enjoyable day.
Thanks for some great caches in great company!

School holidays are upon us which means Team Clarmensma (myself, GemmaSistema, boo09, neisha07 as well as Ad + Luke) is formed yet again as we target another area of beautiful country Victoria.
This time we decided on an over night road trip to Wangaratta.
After a huge day yesterday of 50 finds plus another 4 challenge that we don't yet qualify for we headed out again with a target of at least 25.
The day started great then about lunch time the showers started. That's okay, we'll abort to Maccas and hope it clears. Nope, not so much. We continued caching our way home via Glenrowan and Euroa, with the rain becoming increasingly heavier. We got to Seymour, nabbed a tricky one in the rain then headed to another. We were blinded by the rain so heavy at this point and the sky quickly darkening that we had to admit defeat and part ways. Luckily we had surpassed our goal already. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days adventure in parts of Victoria that I had not previous explored in any aspect. Hope to be back sometime soon- in better weather! TFTC!

School holidays mean that myself and my two kids (ages 5 & 7) go caching with becca85 and her two kids (ages 6 & 8 - or boo09 and neisha07). We normally do a big day out around home (Ballarat way), but we are running out of spots. These holidays we decided to head north and stay a night and cache in and around Wangaratta. A new day dawned and we decided to cache in town this morning exploring the town. Yah! All found in the series - many thanks
This was the first one attempted in the series today.
Parked the car nearby which only left a small stroll to GZ.
A couple of walkers using the path were allowed to pass by before a try for the cache was made, and it was found no worries.
SL at 10.30am. All ok.
A cool hide. TFTC tattboy1.

This was to be my first find in the series today. I recall having seen this on the map a few years ago and have looked forward to tackling it. With some time free in Wangaratta this afternoon I decided to head here and was pleased I did. A nice quick find to start things off.
Thanks to tattboy1.
Thanks to tattboy1.
The log need some serious TLC. It is just a whole lot of small pieces of paper stuffed in the cache and very difficult to find a spot to write on.
Day eight of our 14 day holiday and we are off to Numurkah via Wangaratta and Yarrawonga doing some caches along the way. A quick easy find in the obvious spot, but difficult to find a blank spot to log. The log need some serious TLC. Will log a maintenance request as well. TFTC
Another lovely day in Wangaratta - out and about enjoying the area with CAD ... Another find in this Great series love this purple container! T4TC:)

Day three of our month long escape from Tassie. A reasonably quick find on a very warm day. TFTC
Ah all done, we started the other end and worked in reverse this morning making all the finds with no dnf's. Thanks tattboy1 for maintaining the caches, a nice little cache run to start the day.
Up early to grab this series with Happy pants, before there were to many muggles. The last of the series and another easy enough find. Have enjoyed doing them.
Thanks tattboy1 for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

Hi there tattboy1. We found your cache "Purpledreamers Purple Power Path # 1" at 10:57:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 12366.
[Blue]
Today was "Purple Dreamer" day. We thought that it would be nice to attempt the tribute series for this wonderful person before we leave town. Today we ended up logging 15 and DNF'ing 1 today.
Please excuse our boilerplate logs. When we attempt a series run we find it difficult to prepare individual logs.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The majority of containers and log books were in good shape, but the post-it-note log books are in tatters and need a really big staple to hold them together.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing in the small ones, and a smiley badge wherever we could fit one.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Driving through Wangaratta and noticed this one. After some gps confusion, we got close to this one and of course parked on the wrong side of the road. Once on the path we were pleased to find a true purple cache. Noticed this was one of a series so decided to go out to no.12 and work our way back towards town, treating it as park and grab exercise.
TFTC. On a lovely Saturday morning we had wandered through the wetlands and were close to this path of caches. No time like the present to add to our tally. Started at 6 and worked our way successfully back to 1.
Started the PPPP with NenaNine This was a quick easy find for me NenaNine logged in for both of us.

We were out and about today, grabbing some caches around Wangaratta. We hit this power trail, which showed a variety of caches along a lovely (and a little bit busy) country road. Thanks for all the hides and the people that maintain these caches.

It's Mothers Day and mlroberts73 & I decided we'd head out and grab a few caches this afternoon.
So off we went in the drizzly rain and enjoyed a couple of hours of caching together.
What a great way to spend an afternoon!

Bit of a detour on way home after great weekend with friends @ Day on the Green Rutherglen with Jimmytherat. 1st for the day. Have a feeling we have done some Purple Dreamers before?TFTC
TFTC purple dreamer. First one of the Series. Nice and easy walk-up. A great start in a beautiful day in sunny Wang. With Noelle04.
Did a few of these cause we are here in Wang. Log a bit disjointed and a delayed thanks to Purple dreamer and thiose who maintain.
Quick find. Log is signable but is all separate pieces and jammed in the contained randomly. We have really enjoyed this series (we did it backwards). Thanks for the caches
Went for a short bike ride this evening, thought we'd catch some caches. Quickly found, but took a while to extract the log and sign it as the sticky notes have all come apart. Eventually found a empty space to sign.
Liked the purple theme of this trail, walked some and drove some. Had to DNF #10 but the others were OK.
Found with the lid open. Thankfully everything still dry. Needs a new log book.
Finished the trail today. Woohoo
Finished the trail today. Woohoo
Mr Tardis is visiting family in Wang while on a visit from Adelaide. I has some time today to complete this nice trail dedicated to Purpledrreamer. I started at #15 and worked my way back towards Wang. A nice variety of purple caches along here and most were easy finds with DNFs on #10 and #8.
#330 Took the Team Three B's riding around some of the trails around Wangaratta today. We managed to get one of the biggest punctures ever that left a hole in the tyre itself. After patching the tube and put it all back together you could see the tube through the tyre. We decided not to go too far away from the car just incase and pick this cache up that i couldn't find a long time ago. Well it's always the case isn't it that we parked near ground zero and i was able to walk up to it and put my hand straight on it. I'm positive it wasn't there last time......... ah well, not to worry, i can sign the log this time with the team as a bonus. The postit style log has not faired well as there is single screwed up sheets shoved in the cache making it a little difficult to get to a clean sheet. Well, another problem was that i had not packed a pen a quick check around the environment and a makeshift pencil was created from a stick and the chain oil on my bike good enough i reckon. With not a muggle still in sight, only the odd passing vehicle, we were lucky on this busy stretch. Thanks for keeping the Purpledreamers caches alive tattboy1, cheers.
A nice day riding around Wangaratta with a cache pickup on the side. A nice easy find with Rawhide. TFTC
Last on in this series having started at the other end. A fun little trip with some good quick finds and a couple to keep ypu guessing. Just over 80 minutes from 15 to 1, with the one DNF.
Again, thanks to all concerned for the continuing series.....
Again, thanks to all concerned for the continuing series.....
My last of this series (started at #15). Thank you tattboy 1. You have kept the caches in very good order but I think the sticky note logs sort of let the caches down. It takes too long to find an empty space in them and the sticky deteriorates and the sheets separate. Thank you for your efforts though. It's a big job.
TFTC. Slowly getting through this trail whenever I'm in the area with a minute to spare.
Like others as we only had the car and not bikes so we tackled this from 15 to 1 with 10 being off line. Good to see some different sizes along the trail. Number 9 took abit longer as its a different hide and some the purple has gone but we managed the find even with the neighbours barking dog. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC and series

Suscoe's 22nd find of 37 for today.
It was a tale of two halves today, before lunch steady rain, after lunch a bit of sun and wind.
A nice hide, 8 degrees, lots of stopping and starting, lots of fun and lots of rain, sorry for the standard log.
All caches were in place and the logs are pretty dry.
Thanks to tattboy1 for keeping this series alive.
A favourite from us for the series, great work tattboy1for keeping the memory alive!!!!!!!!

On previous visits to Wang we had always run out of time before we could attempt the Power Trail. Today we were heading to Yarrawonga and Cobram with time on our hands and, as luck would have it, there was room along the trail to pull over with a caravan in tow. TFTC.

When it was announced that we were expected at one of the pubs in town for dinner tonight, this trail shot to the top of my To Do list, as it had been on the radar since we'd passed through town early last year, and each subsequent visit had been too short for an attempt. Not so this afternoon.
My chauffeur dropped me off at #15, and the fun began with a nice quick find. It's been a while since I last hit a real power trail, and the great exercise and good fortune continued the full length of the trail, with very little traffic either along the road or on foot to contend with.
The family arrived in our car just as I was arriving at this first/last hide of the power trail, and I took an embarrassingly long time to finally spot it where I should have looked properly on the first circuit of the site.
Being a Johnny-Come-Lately to caching, I never had the pleasure of meeting Purpledreamer, but I saw a lot of evidence of her passage through the northern parts of the State while signing logs, and was saddened to hear of her passing. It's great to see that her legacy of so many hides around Wangaratta has been maintained by the local caching community. Thanks, tattboy1, for your part in that, and for the afternoon's entertainment.
I'd hoped to get here early enough to continue down the One Mile Creek, but if I have to choose between wine tasting and Geocaching, well...
Until next time. Cheers.

A great power trail that we had wanted to complete for a little while, headed over to Wangaratta today. It was quite warm today so we drove most of the trail but enjoyed a stroll at certain spots. Finished up just before the weather turned for the worse and the sky's opened! Glad to see this trail being looked after!

#408 With our annual leave drawing to an end we are making the most of getting out for a final geocaching onslaught. The PPPP series has been on our list for a while and today we and the 3 geohounds tackled it on foot. We found all 15 caches (collecting odd number caches on the way up and even numbers on the way back) in the series without too much trouble and also walked to By the Green. In total we walked 13.7kms. We then went on to Yarrawonga area and collected another 14 caches for the day taking our total to 30. Finally got home after 10:30pm! Thanks to tattboy1 for maintaining this wonderful series.

Day two of our post Christmas / pre New Year trip... taking our new tent trailer for a test run, weather was very hot and humid. Our travels are taking us up to Ettamogah and across to Old Tallangatta before returning home.
Visiting many towns along the way, taking the Geo wife to places she has never been before, and giving our Geo Pug time to sniff out new territories
Did not expect to be seeing constant temps in the high 30's to low 40's... Geo wife got to see her first live black snake on the road in Australia, and I almost stood on a 5 foot brown snake at one cache on the HCRT, and a red back spider at another.
Stayed at some nice FREE camp sites along the way and a couple of caravan parks as well, learned a lot of things along the way, history and more, but in all a great adventure and we were able to clock up our 1000th find along the way ..
thanks to the CO for this cache
