In Wang for a few days R&R and after visiting friends in Yarrawonga I had some time to grab a few smilies on the way back to Wang. Looked at the map and saw this series was on a bike/walking trail. I was quite pleased to be able to do them all by car as walking isn't that easy at the moment. Thanks for taking over this series tattboy1

I logged this series in reverse order since the caches seemed to be on that side of the road. All containers were in good shape. Some of the logs which were once postit notes have become messy but I always found somewhere to write K.B. in red pen on some part of the log. Thanks for the caches and to the person / people who have volunteered to maintain them.

Geofamily trip to Victoria... Cool! Cool
Mrs Moneydork, Moneydork, sushilord and I left Friday morning for a 4 day jaunt over the border to find a cache or two Cool
Two nights in Wangaratta and then a night in Bendigo left me with 10 DNFs Sad and 205 cache finds Smile one of which was a FTF SurprisedSmile
Day 3 was Wangaratta to Bendigo as there is a particular wool mill there that geomum loves to visit [^] As with any family, when geo mum is happy... everyone else is Smile[^]
Todays DNFs numbered 1 Sad and the finds numbered 66 Smile with some interesting caches and experiences amongst them.... not the least of them being me falling off of the walk the plank cache Red FaceRazz At least I found a PT there to make up for the fall Cool

This cache had us shaking our heads in bewilderment and laughing as we found 2 caches here[?]Surprised[?]Surprised
We signed both logs so that we were covered no matter which cache was the real cache or is one a GCA cache[?]
Seems we all have a good eye for a cache hiding spot! Razz
I'd never met purpledreamer and it seems that I missed out on meeting a lovely lady Sad
I've only managed to find a few of her cache hides and Purpledreamers Big Purple Box is one that I really remember as it was a HUGE cache in an OUTSTANDING location Cool [^] Smile
Hence I enjoyed this small series Smile and it's a shame that some are offline or achived Sad

The geofamily are off on another trip to Mexico. Fun, sore backsides (for some) and Dad getting the geomobile stuck and breaking his bike, TWICE were the highlights of the trip. One of the running jokes for the trip was 'If it's 2.5T it's laying on the ground, if it's 2.5D it's under that pile of rocks or in the open, if it's listed as large we are looking for an eclipse tin' which came about due to a number of early finds. The lasting memory from this trip will be the grass seeds!!!

We worked our way along this trail.

Thanks for the cache purpledreamer.

I had so much fun on our little roadtrip!
Me, boo09, becca85 & GemmaSistema headed to Wangaratta for the night.
Day 1 was huge with 50 finds, lots of which were at night by torchlight- we even got bogged!
Day 2 we got rained out in the end but still had an enjoyable day.
Thanks for some great caches in great company! Smile

We had DNF'd this one in the dark last night and again took some time today before a child made the find.

School holidays are upon us which means Team Clarmensma (myself, GemmaSistema, boo09, neisha07 as well as Ad + Luke) is formed yet again as we target another area of beautiful country Victoria.
This time we decided on an over night road trip to Wangaratta.
After a huge day yesterday of 50 finds plus another 4 challenge that we don't yet qualify for we headed out again with a target of at least 25.
The day started great then about lunch time the showers started. That's okay, we'll abort to Maccas and hope it clears. Nope, not so much. We continued caching our way home via Glenrowan and Euroa, with the rain becoming increasingly heavier. We got to Seymour, nabbed a tricky one in the rain then headed to another. We were blinded by the rain so heavy at this point and the sky quickly darkening that we had to admit defeat and part ways. Luckily we had surpassed our goal already. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days adventure in parts of Victoria that I had not previous explored in any aspect. Hope to be back sometime soon- in better weather! TFTC!

School holidays mean that myself and my two kids (ages 5 & 7) go caching with becca85 and her two kids (ages 6 & 8 - or boo09 and neisha07). We normally do a big day out around home (Ballarat way), but we are running out of spots. These holidays we decided to head north and stay a night and cache in and around Wangaratta. A new day dawned and we decided to cache in town this morning exploring the town. We came back to finish off the 3 we had run out of time for last night. This one took ages as GPS had us at other tree (the standing one, lol) but a kid soon cried out "got it"! Many thanks Smile

Third and last in the series for me today, being called home before being able to go further.
Strolled along to "#3", and while the path was quiet the nearby roadside was busy with passing traffic and council workers cleaning up some fallen branches.
They were far enough away for me to get a good chance to look, and the cool cache was found.
SL at 10.50am. All good.
I would loved to of done more. Maybe next time when I'm down. TFTC tattboy1.

After having a night in town we were up nice and early to grab a few caches, so Happy feet and myself loaded up on a coffee each and headed out of town a little way and grabbed a few smilies. This cache was soon found after a short search, almost done now, just a couple to go. TFTC

Hi there tattboy1. We found your cache "Purpledreamers Purple Power Path # 3" at 10:52:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 12364.
[Blue]
Today was "Purple Dreamer" day. We thought that it would be nice to attempt the tribute series for this wonderful person before we leave town. Today we ended up logging 15 and DNF'ing 1 today.

Please excuse our boilerplate logs. When we attempt a series run we find it difficult to prepare individual logs.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The majority of containers and log books were in good shape, but the post-it-note log books are in tatters and need a really big staple to hold them together.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing in the small ones, and a smiley badge wherever we could fit one.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Quick find. Good spot to sign the log where the cars can't sew you. Tftc.

29-Jan-15
"I found it!" I called out at the same time as my partner in crime also turned to me with a 'cache' in hand, but mine was the 'real' one being purple in colour and having the same sticky note log as our previous finds. There are 2 caches hidden in this spot for some reason, if you find a mint tin keep looking the real purple cache is close by. TFTC Smile

29-Jan-15
Becstar12 found the correct purple cache. I found the fake eclipse container.

20-Jan-15
Liked the purple theme of this trail, walked some and drove some. Had to DNF #10 but the others were OK.

16-Jan-15
We all got out of the car to find this one. There's a beautiful cool breeze, little muggle traffic, a large fallen tree for 5 year old junior plunderer to climb on, and a found cache. Perfec

Mr Tardis is visiting family in Wang while on a visit from Adelaide. I has some time today to complete this nice trail dedicated to Purpledrreamer. I started at #15 and worked my way back towards Wang. A nice variety of purple caches along here and most were easy finds with DNFs on #10 and #8.

21-Dec-14
Enjoyed myself for the day. Thanks tattboy1.

31-Oct-14
Started this little series in reverse order....and as well missing the missing number 9, I had a DNF on number 8. Other than that, all was hides were fine and the caches found without issue.

Thanks to all concerned for the continuing caches.....

17-Oct-14
There was a bit of a problem signing the logs today as the sticky notes are all falling apart.

08-Oct-14
TFTC. Slowly getting through this trail whenever I'm in the area with a minute to spare.

01-Oct-14
Like others as we only had the car and not bikes so we tackled this from 15 to 1 with 10 being off line. Good to see some different sizes along the trail. Number 9 took abit longer as its a different hide and some the purple has gone but we managed the find even with the neighbours barking dog. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC and series

Suscoe's 20th find of 37 for today.
It was a tale of two halves today, before lunch steady rain, after lunch a bit of sun and wind.
A nice hide, 8 degrees, lots of stopping and starting, lots of fun and lots of rain, sorry for the standard log.
All caches were in place and the logs are pretty dry.
Thanks to tattboy1 for keeping this series alive.

[:(!] Spending the weekend in Albury with my geoson and his geofamily and what better way of spending the day but to do a caching run and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

CoolCoolCool I like it CoolCoolCool

On previous visits to Wang we had always run out of time before we could attempt the Power Trail. Today we were heading to Yarrawonga and Cobram with time on our hands and, as luck would have it, there was room along the trail to pull over with a caravan in tow. TFTC.

Found a container that wasn't purple. Plenty of names in the log. Perhaps the CO needs to check there isn't 2 here. Tftc

04-May-14
Have got the momentum now. Only a few more to go.

19-Apr-14
Only the minutest purple tip was showing but eagle-eyed Muggle Hubby spotted it, it was buried in mud,I tried to gently prise it out and a gazillion black ants came pouring out of the hole and the container dropped down into their nest. Hubby extracted it with pointy nosed pliers, I signed it and left an orange anteater there to have a feast

When it was announced that we were expected at one of the pubs in town for dinner tonight, this trail shot to the top of my To Do list, as it had been on the radar since we'd passed through town early last year, and each subsequent visit had been too short for an attempt. Not so this afternoon.

My chauffeur dropped me off at #15, and the fun began with a nice quick find. It's been a while since I last hit a real power trail, and the great exercise and good fortune continued the full length of the trail, with very little traffic either along the road or on foot to contend with.

We have had 2 previous DNF’s on this cache, the last back on 24/11/12. Heading back from doing the fireworks for the Suzi Quatro concert in Mulwala last night we stopped here in hope of completing this power path. We had to wait fo a couple of golfers to move on the a mum with a pram but when th coast was clear we had a nice quick find and sign. For the second time this weekend took time to reflect on friends and thank you Tattboy1 for leaving the page in her name so all can remember.

The telltale camo made the cache much easier to find than it could have been!

#409 With our annual leave drawing to an end we are making the most of getting out for a final geocaching onslaught. The PPPP series has been on our list for a while and today we and the 3 geohounds tackled it on foot. We found all 15 caches (collecting odd number caches on the way up and even numbers on the way back) in the series without too much trouble and also walked to By the Green. In total the we walked 13.7kms. We then went on to Yarrawonga area and collected another 14 caches for the day taking our total to 30. Finally got home after 10:30pm! Thanks to tattboy1 for maintaining this wonderful series.

27-Dec-13
Day two of our post Christmas / pre New Year trip... taking our new tent trailer for a test run, weather was very hot and humid. Our travels are taking us up to Ettamogah and across to Old Tallangatta before returning home.

Visiting many towns along the way, taking the Geo wife to places she has never been before, and giving our Geo Pug time to sniff out new territories Smile

Did not expect to be seeing constant temps in the high 30's to low 40's... Geo wife got to see her first live black snake on the road in Australia, and I almost stood on a 5 foot brown snake at one cache on the HCRT, and a red back spider at another.
Stayed at some nice FREE camp sites along the way and a couple of caravan parks as well, learned a lot of things along the way, history and more, but in all a great adventure and we were able to clock up our 1000th find along the way ..

thanks to the CO for this cache
