Im taking a trip down to Victoria and couldnt pass up the opportunity to pick up some caches along the way. A decent afternoon to be out riding the rail trail. While the vineyard was closed for the day the cache out front was easy to spot. Thanks. #1808
Cache # 11265 on 28 Apr 2024Decided to take advantage of the ANZAC day holiday and make a long weekend of it - added a road trip with Bobl27 to the mix and all is set for a fun few days. We are travelling from home in the ACT to Victoria via Cooma and then doing a relaxed loop to Melbourne picking up a few caches and counties along the way. And then straight up the Hume home! No tricky DTs or long walks this trip. Melbourne to Canberra today via a few counties! This cache: last county in Eastern Victoria for me. No idea how I missed it when attending the Wangaratta and Rutherglen mega events! Anyway, quick find at GZ today. Pointed the car north and heading home! Thank you BettyBoo3747 for the cache and the fun!
Quick park (in the car today unfortunately) walk and find. Thanks for the fun
On our last day of our holiday we came to Gapsted Estate for a wine tasting and lunch. The dude pouring our tastings looked like Daniel Radcliffe and had the accent to match. Basically Harry Potter was pouring wine for us. It wasnt butterbeer because that sounds horrendous, and he warned us that all their wines were ready to drink now. Thats another sign that we needed to send a case home and practice the spell explendicious. At lunch I was searching for any caches close by and this was one on our drive back out. What a cracking reward, a glass of wine, lunch and a cache. tftc
Out doing a big maintenance run - mainly in the Buckland Valley but checking a few others along the way.Someone sent me a message that the log sheet was full so we called past on this quiet Sunday morning and replaced with a fresh log sheet.
We were up from Melbourne to enjoy a much needed break from the busy lives we live and to spend some quality family time. Today trouble and co headed out for a family bike ride from myrtleford towards gapstead. Little Mr trouble was rather tired after having ridden to bright the day before hand. The rides purpose was to collect as many caches as possible along the way.
Tasting a few wines during the winery walk about. Thought I'd take the kids to so something more intersting. Easy find.
Headed away this long weekend with fitzy_1965 for the Great Victorian County hunt. Our mission is to finish off Victoria.
We drove to Oxley Reserve and stayed there Friday night so that we could get an early start. LOL How we managed to sleep in, I do not know but off we set to end up in Sale for the night.
Today we managed to tick off 7 of the 14 counties I needed.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. And thanks to all the COs who continue to help us reach our goals.

31,992. Found with minniek during our Great Victorian County Hunt this long weekend. Our aim is to finish off Victoria - minniek needing 14 and myself 7.
We left Canberra after work on Friday and stayed overnight at a familiar free camp at Oxley Reserve. This morning we ducked East a bit to grab 'Alpine' for minniek. This was a very convenient cache to tick of the county for her. Quick find once at GZ. We will need to return one trip to complete the entire M2M series. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next cache on our list.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 !!

Day 2 of the B2B walk. If you haven't heard of it, I would suggest you get on google. It's a wonderful event which I can say I am very proud to have been a participant and I'll definitely be back.
This 3 day event takes you from Beechworth to Bright in 3 days.
Geocaching was just a very tiny part of the fun. From meeting new people to hearing amazing stories, from amazing scenery to seeing wildlife (which I didn't see), it was a weekend that will remain with me forever.
By the end of the day I think I was known as the lady who keeps going into the bush (nature calls). My daughter at first was a little embarrassed but then thought it was a good laugh. It did spark up a conversation and it was a great opportunity for others to learn about geocaching
I walked past many caches and I could feel my fingers twitching but I knew I would return another time to grab some more.
TFTC I will be back soon

Sunday driving on our way home from Bright.
Beautiful day, great company...
What more can a girl ask for?
Discovered at GZ that jo2022nz and The Blind Side had found this one yesterday.
Forgotten to log it perhaps?
Looks like a lovely winery.

While walking from Everton to Myrtleford (Day 2 of the B2B, Beechworth to Bright Walk for Suicide Awareness #walktalksupport) I took the opportunity to grab a few caches along the way without raising too much attention with the other walkers #fail. It ended up being a good opportunity to explain geocaching to a lot of curious people. I'm sure we'll gain some new cachers from it. Nice hide, fantastic series. TFTC
#17236 - 12:36:00 PM; Headed back to Melbourne to pick up the geomum and took a short detour to add another County/LGA to the found list. Decided to collect a few in this series before heading back towards the highway. No problems here as the cache was found on the ground, but replaced a little higher again after the log was signed. TFTC BettyBoo3747
Completed previously as BlackOpal2005. My daughter I thought it was time to create our own accounts.
Thought we would go over to Myrtleford for a night out and have some dinner. We thought we do some Caches on the way home
Found at 2:56:00 PM
Found doing the M2M rail trail with 2 of my sisters over three days. We started in Wang and rode to Beechworth. The next day we coasted 14km downhill from Beechworth and then rode to Myrtleford. Finally we rode to Bright on the 3rd day.
Thanks BettyBoo3747

Spotted this very quickly. Been to many wineries in the region but not this one yet. Tftc !
In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and Can now cache and explore. We headed out early..ish today our mission to explore Beechworth and Bright and of course...to Cache! Spotted as we approached GZ. TFTC
Could’ve grabbed this one after our long lunch with friends but went and got a couple of others first - stealth, you know! TFTC
A few days away with Shumba7 working on BettyBoo’s A - Z around Myrtleford. We have had a great time seeing some of the sights the area has to offer. Even though I have been here many times, this series has me seeing parts that I never knew existed. TFTC although I’m beginning to think BettyBoo is a nasty lady with fresh breath.
Found while enjoying an Easter break up in the North East.
Stunning weather and a really nice area to explore.
We rode this section of the trail and enjoyed it.
Beautiful winery here too.
Thanks for the hide here.

As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.
If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.
TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.
I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

We are touring and camping locally enjoying what this area has to offer. Thanks Lib for cache placement.
Thanks again BettyBoo3747 for another cache, this time Christ The Redeemer. The bike trail is nearly as busy as the road today now that people have their freedom again.
Muggle Hubby is enjoying the driving and dalerious and I the caches.

A nice quick parkngrab in wine country aiding us in our search for all the caches needed to win a souvenir in Groundspeak's "Wonders of the World" promo'. [^] Also...... a bloody good excuse to get out and about finally.
TFTC BettyBoo.
Cache and contents found high and dry in good condition and handled with covid safe practices. [8)]

While staying in the Benalla area for a few days decided to take a day trip over to Myrtleford. Beautiful scenery with all the vineyards.
Thanks so much to all the COs who placed and maintain their caches in this area for us to enjoy finding.

Enjoyed a day caching with Mrs Clazza, walking the rail trail and collecting caches along the way. A quick find here and we were on our way..
Find Number 1957 found at 11:33. This was the 1st find of 5 finds and 0 DNF's today
A mothers' day trip to Myrtleford for lunch, sightseeing and a few caches.
We stopped the car here and I wandered around while the GPS took its own sweet time to settle down. After that, finding the cache was easy but getting the log out of the container was more tricky.
The cache was in good condition. We signed the log (sometimes we sign micro logs with G&T or GT) and replaced the container as found but with the pencil in first so it may push the log out for the next finder
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

Last day of my "school" holidays before going back to work - so why not spend it caching in the gorgeous autumn weather in the northe east of Victoria. Despite seeing lots of PV vehicles, the fires seem to have finished and once the breeze dropped it was a glorious day. Highlight birdwise was the Flame and Scarlet Robins that have started descending from the High Country and a Jacky Winter near Markwood was I think a first for me in the north east. My main goal today was to finish the last three in the Hoop Stars Series - I knew all three were back in play and so would get that big ball finished. After that I wasn't certain whether I would head to Milawa or Myrtleford (in the end it was the latter) and turned out to be another Betty Boo3747 and Harrowang day (plus a new D/T combo - woohoo). In the end got 30 finds and 2 DNF (right at the end when I ran out of time) but also cleaned up quite a few that I had looked for previously but not logged. Plus a couple of nice multis, so in the end a very good day.
The Merlot from the nearby establishment is one of the geowifes favourites, so I picked up a box for her birthday (plus a few nice whites for myself) before parking near the road and heading to this one. Felt a tad exposed, and the pressure of extracting the log where potential observers nearly got too much. Eventually it came out (with a nice stubby pen) log signed and returned, just as I was on my way realised I still had the lid to the pen and so another visit and it was returned as well.

Road trip to Canberra.. I have mapped out 16 to find plus one event on the way, this was number 7 for the day at 10.11am. Thanks for the cache .. this is a missing LGA so I made a small (???) Detour to get this one. It's sad to think we haven't being here in our 5 year caching life, considering we lived a little further down the road at Eurobin for a couple of years and visited the area almost yearly for sometime. Will have to get back here
We headed out for one particular cache that we needed for a challenge cache and decided to find whatever cache was on the road as we headed back to Wangaratta. Most geocachers know that we do not know how to take the shortest or most direct road.
We had one DNF out of the caches we attempted, some were easy, some were more taxing, some were low and others were high, thankfully hubby is tall. All caches are in good condition. SL TFTC

Only a few caching days left to us now before leave the valley (yes, we really are leaving - eventually) Decided that a day around the outskirts of Beechworth would be in order, plus one or two on the way.
Have passed this one every time we have been caching beyond Myrtleford always saying that we would pick it up next time. Well today was "next time" Cache found quickly, just as a procession of shiny old cars pulled in to the winery, probably for a photo shoot. Thanks BettyBoo

Having just left Gapstead Station, it was time to try to find Gapstead itself. This one had us looking around for a while before the container was finally spotted.
Recently we have been camping in an area where there is no phone reception, so today is catch up on logging day. Each cache we have found over the last few days had our name noted on the log and each was replaced as it had been found. Our apologies for the mostly generic log, but sometimes specific comments have been added.
Thank you to BettyBoo3747 for placing this cache.

I had been notified by a previous finder that this cache might be missing. They only found a cable tie. Called past this morning and left a new container, log, pencil. All good to go.
On a bike ride and will be having lunch nearby a little later. Log sheet almost full so replaced and all good to go.
Found this after visiting the winery.. Also found a hitch hiker who was bemused as we directed him to wait in the shade. He had no idea what we were doing and we were only just ahead of him.TFTC
Had to read past comments to find it but once figured it out was an easy find
Not much green around at this time of year, so this was a quick and easy grab for the kids and I on the way home from school. TFTC!
Quick easy find once you spot it in right direction signed TKG. Lovely views of the winery and hills covered by trees TFTC
Managed a quick find after a little searching about and the cache was soon spotted, thanks again BettyBoo3747 for the placement and maintenance of the cache.

Out and about in the area with Happy pants and Happy feet for some caching fun.
Also hoping to hit my 3000th find this weekend.
Found after a few moments of searching.
Cheers for the cache

Number 8 for the day and a cheeky placement. Carleen wins out again. I like the container, sort of makes the proverbial cache a bit fairer. Thanks.
TFTC. We have been working on this series for the last three seasons. Usually we are only in the area late January but this year we had to attend a funeral in Wangaratta and we extended our stay to do a housesit for a friend. The Autumn days are lovely and the remaining HSS and M2M caches require a bike ride.
This took a bit of finding until I stood back and there it was.
