fitzy_1965 and I organised a group to do the walk around Peel Common after the puzzles were all solved. Our group included: Contesta, domsky, FurfacesLL, youban, tankengine, dty73, GLISS!, Joolay, kittykatch, tikvaNZ, isopeda, barb2e & smittengranny. After a few of us did parkrun, we all headed out to the common. One of our party used google maps which lead them to the farmers house, he kindly directed them back to the correct gate into the cemetery. He had no problem with us being in there so long as we closed any gates. barb2e, youban and smittengranny headed back into town while the rest of us took on the common. We took a clockwise route as we felt it was the path of least resistance. The terrain turned out to be more up and down than we thought it would be but still keep firm on the path we took. The puzzles were great to solve, and all caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
A weekend of fun with a group of Canberra cachers. The weather was beautiful, cold and clear with little wind and it was a perfect day to be out walking and exploring and enjoying a winter weekend in Bathurst. We signed the logs as CBI24 ( Canberra-Bathurst Invasion 2024)Thanks for all the adventures and efforts to create some fun hides for the Geocaching community. Domsky
Find # 123966/7/2024 12:57Caching adventures continue, plans were hatched, word got around, and with some trustee like-minded souls we assembled at the cemetery start line - KittyKatch, Joolay, fitzy_65, mimmiek, TikvaNZ, isopeda, dty73, FurfacesLL, domsky, Youvan, Barb2e, Tankengine. Signing CBI24 for Canberra Bathurst Invasion Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun!All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Jenmen for Peel Common

There are barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, DTY73, Tankengine, Youban, SmittenGranny, Contesta, Gliss! Domsky, Fitzy_1965, Minniek, and me. We all have been solving the puzzles ove the last few weeks in preparation. Plan for today is mainly Peel Reserve and a few around town. Chooo ooo [Found] on a caching invasion of Bathurst! Log signed CBI24!Thanks Jenmen!
Tankengine, Youban and I left Canberra just after lunchtime on Friday and drove straight to Bathurst. We had solved many of the puzzles or at least started the solves before coming. We were looking forward to finding many smilies this weekend and hanging out with our friends. We met up with our friends and signed caches as CBI24 (Canberra Bathurst Invasion 2024). The group included Fitzy_1965, Minniek, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, GLISS!, Tankengine, Youban, Contesta, Domsky, TikvaNZ, Isopeada, Barb2e, and SmittenGranny. We had an awesome dinner at the Kelso Hotel Bistro Friday night. And attended the ever changing event on Saturday night at The Reckless Brewery Co. Breakfast was at a couple of cafes that were all good and lunches wherever we could find it. Our little cabin at the NRMA Paramount caravan park, where there was just enough space for all three of us (just). We slept ok, but the leaky taps needed attention. We had an awesome time and would love another chance to visit Bathurst again another day. This cache: Found. Puff, Damn hill, puff. Tftc!!!

A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY SEVEN: Peel and finishing off a few odds and ends in/around Bathurst.A quick find here as we finish off todays circuit. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Jenmen ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 7: Happy New Year everyone! Its our final full day in Bathurst so ticking off lots of unfinished business before we leave for Orange tomorrow.Spotted this one as we were returning to the car. The log book sitting on the inside was in good shape but Im not sure what the black stuff inside the zip lock bag was nor what was underneath it.Thanks Jenmen for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Funny that this is the first hide that I pick up when I started out my attack on the jigsaw series, but nonetheless, there you go! After parking nearby and stirring up some local dogs, I headed up the incline and quickly located this nice bit of work.TFTC
This one is a nice looking container but is wet inside so we signed the paper the previous cachers had added.
Out caching with irondale on this cool spring day. Grabbing some puzzles that have been solved on the map for a fair while today while exploring the general Peel area. Lots of kangaroos spotted today but no snakes (thankfully).

With the day free to do a spot of geocaching, I went for a drive to Peel to visit the jigsaw puzzle series and to hopefully complete the remaining caches here. Parked at the trailhead on the other side of the common, and followed the other puzzle caches around until I arrived at GZ. Cache was quickly discovered. Lovely area.

The fifth and last day of geocaching with Team Canary, Brewmaker, Noodles21, ziggiau and Rainbow Spirit.
After our recovery day today was the day to tackly Peel Common with many caches in a dense area. It was a lovely 3.5 hour walk along the trails where we picked up many caches, and even managed to find an unpublished cache.
After Peel is was time for lunch and we each went our own way toward the East where I managed to pick up a few more caches.
Logs were signed with the team name BRINTZ. TFTC!

It's the last day in Bathhurst with The Geocaching Adventures group: Brewmaker, Rainbow Spirit, Its D'Ozzie, Team Canary and ziggiau.
Today we set out to complete the caching trails in the Peel Crown lands, before the long drive back home.
We had set up a car shuffle at the cemetery end started from the North. Soon to find out we were climbing up that big hill twice as our path led us in a figure 8 path instead of a loop around the area. Most was along the trails, but some bush bashing was needed.
Anyway, very tired at the end we all finished the day well warn out at a bakery before calling the week caching holiday complete. Thanks for the caches.
Signed group as BRINTZ

#6180- Thomo31 and I left Springwood in rain this morning, but the weather here today has been great. By the time we climbed the hill to this one it was getting warm though. A quick find having not been covered with camo at all. Replaced and covered more carefully. Thanks
Log is really waterlogged and could do with some maintenance, otherwise nice place
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went on a cache collecting loop drive up Sofala Road, then along Pymonts Lane, and returning to Bathurst via Limekilns Road & Marsden Lane. Took a slight detour, off Sofala Road, for an interesting visit to Peel Cemetery. Finished the day with a few finds around the Kelso area. This was the 10th of 30 finds for the day (day 4), and 60th find of the holiday.
It was a bit of a bush bash to get to GZ, but we got there in the end for a nice quick find. Liked the way the cache container is "tethered" to the tree with old fencing wire. The log was just a sodden pulp ball within a plastic bag, and totally unsignable, so took a photo of it instead. TNLN. TFTC Jenmen and Rogpol.

Headed to Hill End for camping during the October long weekend. Of course, some caches were to be found. This was one of them.
I found the container easily. But the contents where a sodden mess. Can this be fixed?

The start of a fabulous adventure. Kicking off a NSW Discovery holiday with nibletricecakes and k8tybee by starting with a group invasion with kittykatch, joolay, smittengranny, barb2e, and onieferret around Bathurst tackling many puzzles and some strands of the TRLT trail. We signed the logs as "Capital Crunchers". Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for our enjoyment.

Day 3 of Capital Crunchers Invasion of Bathurst. Found after a slow start to the day that was thoroughly worthwhile. Thanks to all COs for adding to our enjoyable weekend . All logs were signed.
Great walk through the scrub. The log is sodden, not in plastic and very difficult therefore to write on. Needs a dry log.

Staying in Bathurst for two nights and our main day is made of two drives outside of Bathurst. Thanks to all the COs for placing the caches and showing us around your region.
Caching today in the Bathurst district while visiting the area. Due to the number of caches found, I am doing a generic log. All caches were great to find , some took a while to find and others were quick to locate. Thank you CO's for placing these caches. TFTC
A quick stroll from the roadside took me through the gate and onto common ground
And a wander through the bushland later,
a cache was found

OCW frazerdaze and marj01. House sitting at White Rock for a week has provided an opportunity to do some geocaching runs around Bathurst - mainly TRLT series indispersed with a number of trads and puzzle caches. During the day we saw lovely scenery, lots of sheep and cattle, a few foxes and one deer in the forestry area. We even encountered fire persons doing a burn off which included two of the caches we were chasing. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches and adding to our enjoyment. For expediency all logs were signed OMF. Log was too wet to sign marj01 has photo with his log.
On a big weekend caching with oldmorty and Frazeydaze and logs have signed OMF.

A nice little hike into the bush. Nice to see crown land here in Australia as well as back home in Canada. The cache had water inside and the log was not in the provided plastic, but managed to sign (very carefully) the soaked log. Left it out of the baggie since it wouldn't do much good to return it in its condition. Perhaps the CO could look at it and maintain it so the next cacher can find something dry to sign. Thanks for bringing me here this morning.
After overnighting in Bathurst, we are looking at some of the TRLT series today.
Nothing like an uphill walk to get the circulation going. Log book really wet but scratched our names.
Log signed and cache replaced at 6:46 PM on December 17, 2018. TFTC.

Once a trailhead was located at S33.18.978 E149.38.025 the walk in was easy enough and the container quickly spotted at GZ. Logged and proceeded on the downhill track back to the car.
Leaving Bathurst we headed for Sofala and did some caching along the way. Luckily we found places to pull of the road with the caravan and once in Sofala we were able to leave the caravan at the waterhole camp near town and cache more freely. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thanks to Jenmen for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Headed up with nissan 65 for another few days caching. Today we are heading towards Sofala and MudgeeThanks for the cache .
Found by Mary & David at 0915. A locked chain across the track, so we enjoyed a walk up the hill, and the tranquillity. Easy find at GZ. Our thanks to Jenmen.
Found as part of a weekend away with Hoojar. We headed up towards Gulgong the first night and camped near the start/ end of TRLT (@ -5 degrees ). The next day we made it through some nice historic places and great rolling countryside to finish up at Sunny Corner after a feed in Bathurst. The next day a few more finds before we headed home. Plenty of roadkill spotted, not many cars and not too much trouble at each cache. Thanks to all those cache hiders .
The opportunity finally arose that Steeba and I both had a free weekend to go caching. We quickly settled upon the northern half of The Road Less Traveled series. We drove to Gulgong via Mudgee after work on Friday, camping just before midnight at the suggested TSR nearby.
Saturday we made our way via the caching trail, and the odd additional cache, to Bathurst for dinner, then back onto the trail to Sunny Corner where we again camped for the evening.
Sunday we turned our heads for home, via a few additional cache stops in Portland and Wallerawang.
A fantastic weekend away, with excellent country to be seen and company to be had. We enjoyed the caches that we found.
Thank you to all of the cache owners, and sorry for the boiler-plate logs!
Cheers

A short drive and a shorter walk and this was an easy find, but um, why is there a container with a logbook, and tucked behind it, a ziplock with another logbook and a swap?
Peel Common was the place where 3-Kings first went to school but not this one. He did take a sample of the lovely quartz, well quite a lot really. This is a great day out caching and I am so pleased 3-Kings and I decided to come this way. Thanks to the COs for what must have been a lot of work putting these caches out. Great time had by all. The WEEO and I had a great time caching all day and yacking as we went along. This was a great caching day and this cache showed the WEEO's true colours! He stopped the ruck while I was reading the description so I suggested we could get closer in the WEEO's 4WD. Up we went and parked right at the gate!!! Nice short walk to the cache, and all the quartz lying around was too much for me to resist, so I borrowed some. Thanks for a great cache! . TFTC
Gorgeous trek! Quartz is beautiful here! Log and contents were wet and destroyed so I have added a new logbook, in a zip lock bag with a small waterproof swap (the koala was drowned lol) Got halfway back and realised I forgotten my pen! The old contents are under the cache and will need to be retrieved by owner
Arrived into Bathurst today & have set up camp at the showgrounds. The temperature was about 7 degrees rainy & windy. After a lunch break & rest we headed towards Peel, finding the puzzle caches that we had worked on previously.
The terrain has to be higher than a 1.5 at this location its more a 2.5

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
This was our 45th cache found today. We enjoyed the walk up to the reserve and soon found the impressive container. Thanks Jenmen and Rogpol.
We drove towards NSW bush lands once again where we visited the Dunedoo Bush Poetry Festival. We have solved many interesting mysteries in preparation of our tour which took us to many beautiful historical places.
We stayed in Bathurst overnight where we looked for a couple of caches also.
We weren't able to find a Clean Up
Australia geocaching event in the area which I think is quite a pity as we as nature loving geocachers should be an example to all the others people.
Thank you
