This one was fairly close to the road I walked around this tree about four times looking for a dark nesting

06-May-22
In the Wangaratta area for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
I am running late with my logs after finding so many in five full on caching days.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.

THE LATE TO THE WANGARATTA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen. Twisted
Booking transferred to February 22. Razz covid Twisted
Booking transferred to May 2022. Cool Yah - made it albeit a tad late. Cool

DAY 4: Off to do the Ned Kelly Helmet series. and anything else we may be passingRazz
The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Razz Plan A was to do NKH and then off towards Everton and Beechworth for some Randolph the Rats caches [^] So to save space in logs we signed BBB6 or 3B6 with a team stamp for the date or similar and unless there was something different or exciting happening these logs are all generic.

Another quick find Smile The light is fading fast and we still want to get to Myrtleford and perhaps Beechworth for some Randolph caches. Surprised

***Thanks BettyBoo3747 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Day 4of a trip to Victoria targeting around the Benalla area with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2. The forecast for the day was for showers however it ended up as a perfect day for caching.

A fun adventurous day including getting bogged on a back track that has been notorious for catching other cachers and the need to contact a nearby farmer who one again kindly towed us out of our predicament, something that he had done for many others in the past.

Our targets were many including some of the Randolph the Rat series and a few others nearby. It also included a high terrain tree climb that needed the Adder and the Starfish to engineer a longer TOTT to scale a tree while Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 watched on in awe.hoping that the extended legs would not collapse or slip.

Another target was the Ned kelly Helmet series which was completed.

All caches were visited handled and signed by the individual members of the group, as always there was no car hopping. This is how we play.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

Another quickish find on our trip.

Thank you for the cache BettyBoo3747, found 6/05/2022, 5:20:12 PM

17-Jan-22
With the Mega festivities over it was time to head out of Wangaratta for a second day and hit the trails. With no others about we were on our own today although we did bump into others on our travels.
It was not so hot today and quite overcast. Ideal for caching. We drove to many, but also walked sections of the trails. We will return and ride much more when the weather is cooler.
By far the majority of caches were in good condition with most coordinates good although a few had us searching widely. We think some of our coords on caches without checkers however are incorrect. Back to the drawing board with those!
Our sincere thanks to the local cachers who have put in mammoth efforts in developing the copious number of caches in the area and maintaining them so effectively. Your efforts are appreciated.

Second session in this area today with RoddyC, hatsofff & grannysmith1947 (signing as Team 44 QLD) to continue on with the HSS series as well as picking up a few solved puzzles & trads along the way.
Most caches were found in great condition and were easily enough to spot, we also appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into placing and maintaining these caches for our benefit, thank you to all the CO's.

After leaving home a little later than we had planned, we finally arrived in Wangaratta and checked into our accommodation with Rapidlywild. Nice cabin that was a little toasty but we soon cooled that down with the air-conditioner while we unloaded the cars.
We then set off to do one of the trails that we had planned to attack also collecting others along our journey.

Nice trail and bike ride to fill in the afternoon and into the early evening. All caches were found although in various condition or otherwise noted.

Thanks for hiding and maintaining BettyBoo3747

A 5.30am start today to get into Wangaratta by 6.00am. Muggle son from Melbourne participating in the Police Legacy bike ride, Wanga to Melbourne, and we wanted to wave him off, and take some photos. Driving with the group as far as Greta, we finally lost the bikes and started caching. We decided we would cache until our legs dropped off, or became so tired that we had to stop. Or eat. After stopping for a coffee in Milawa, and buying some yummies at the smokehouse, we decided to head to Beechworth for some breadrolls

On the way, we found another cache - which was not just another bit of Tupperware in the bush.

Thanks for the caches Betty Boo

16-Aug-18
Our last traditional cache for the day before heading to Murmungee.
We stopped off at Kneebone Rd. and crossed the Great Alpine Rd. before walking back towards Everton and the cache.
You could imagine a railway siding having been along here and it would of seen a fair bit of action in its day.
Not really knowing what to expect at GZ we were surprised with the find.
SL at 2.45pm. Hide all ok.
A very pleasant spot along the Rail Trail for a quick stopover. TFTC BettyBoo3747.

As we continue our trip along this road we see another unfound cache on the radar that isn't to far from the road, so we pulled up at the nearby monument and walked to the cache. Once at GZ we found a different kind of cache which managed to bring a smile to our faces.
TFTC.

Hi there BettyBoo3747. We found your cache "M2M - Brookfield Crossing" at 9:16:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 12323.
[Blue]
Today we decided that some more HSS needed to be found. We wanted to do the "on road" ones as the forcast was for a really hot day, but we ended up attempting some of the ones on the bike trail as well. We both enjoyed our ride in the cache run today & ended up logging 18 and DNF'ing 2 today.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 1m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing in the small ones, and a smiley badge wherever we could fit one.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Not happy Jan, these caches always freak me out. As growing up in the real Aussie bush I have an amazing instinct to look for snakes and anything out of the ordinary, well I saw this and if I had a stick I would have wacked it, then I calmed down, and realized I was caching, glad it was not the summer, thanks for for raising the heart beat. My 5 year old would have loved this

29-Jun-15
This cache made me smile. A novel idea - well done.

07-Jun-15
A little jaunt in the winter's sun for this one, and a bit of a different camo made for an enjoyable cache all round. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

10-Apr-15
Activity on the rail trail was busy as we walked towards the cache coords. However we avoided the bikes and realised that birds nest soup was on the menu at 11:05. A nice touch. TFTC

09-Apr-15
12th find whilst cycling from Beechworth to Myrtleford. My thanks to the cache owners for the great caches along the trail.
We were hoping for a picnic table here to have some lunch but there isn't anything until Gapstead, as we found out! But it was comforting to find a cache instead Wink I laughed when I walked around the tree and spotted the cache.
Whilst I was signing the log a young lad spotted me as he was riding past with his family, then almost stacked his bike, making an impressive recovery. He didn't look back after that lol. TFTC!

05-Apr-15
A very appropriate style of hide for a find on Easter Day. There isn't much left here to remind us off all the activity that must have once taken place. Thanks BettyBoo3747.

Called by today for a cache check. All good with the hide here. Picked up the TB that has been here for quite a few weeks now and it can travel westwards for a while.
