Trying to tidy up a few of the HSS series after the event. I spotted a likely location quite quickly and soon had the cache. Thanks to BettyBoos3747 for the cache.
Another foreiner among the basketball series or is it the other way around? Had to decide high or low here and made the wrong choice at first. After that, an easy find. Thanks BB
On a visit with McLookers, Micaparamedic and Muzza. We had a great afternoon getting lots of finds and no DNFs, with only a little rain despite the dismal forecast of thunderstorms and torrential showers. Signed as 3MC.
Heading to Wang with McLookers to meet up with ConnieandRick and Muzza for a few days caching on the HSS series before they are archived next month. We met the others at our accommodation for the next few days, had lunch then headed out for a few caches, fun and frivolity. Goals successfully achieved. Logs were signed as 3MC, being the initials of our caching tags. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for placing this cache for our enjoyment.
Visiting the area with Muzza, micaparamedic and ConnieandRick to complete the HSS Series. We signed the logs 3MC.Thanks for placing the cache BettyBoo3747.
Find number 12650 at 9:56:14am on Tuesday the 7 November 2023I was up at Goughs Bay for the weekend and one of my tasks for the following few days were to finish off the basketball series, with only 10 to do it shouldn't take too long, I just need to pull the finger out and get up to Everton. The plan for today is to finish off the series and grab a few more targetted caches around the area.Out walking in the middle of nowhere but where better than to have a mini event. I pulled up beside where I could see the container but a tandem bike pulled up about 20 meters further up the hill, so I waited (looking tired). And the father on the front of the bike calls out "are you geocaching"? I had to laugh and called back "yes, and it up here" It turned out to be a teenage girl (mldka4) and her father, we had a good chat about geocaching and was told I just had to visit the Christmas cache over the hill, another one for my list It was goot to catch up mldka4**Thanks for placing this cache BettyBoo3747**---If you are looking for some new caches to find, explore the nominees for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The Nominations Geocaching List is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)!Voting is now closed for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards and the awards event will be posted soon
Chook joined forces with The Tritonz and headed to Wangaratta for a couple of days, with the main targets being to find a few solved puzzles and tackle the HSS Basketball Geoart before it gets archived soon. After the ride up the hill from Gapsted to Taylors Gap, Chook was enjoying this nice little downhill run. A nice quick find here by Mr Tritonz.TFTC BettyBoo3747.
With the Geelong Cup and an RDO up our sleeve, it was time to head up north in the great company of chooknchunk for a midweek getaway and finally try and complete the HSS Series before the CO finally says goodbye to the Basketball geoart forever.Today, after a good nights sleep, we tackled the next leg of the series on the rail trail. The fit Triton and chook started down at Gapsted Cricket Ground to be met with a very steep hill, which couldnt be avoided, so a slow and steady trip was made for the first 7 mystery caches before reaching the top at Taylors Gap, then a nice downhill run helped pick up their momentum. After that it was an easy run (especially after chook released her brake cable that was caught on, oops) collecting each solved puzzle as well as the M2M trad series. Many of the hides were much trickier than we expected, needing 2 sets of eyes to scope them out. With 2 missing, and with the CO's permission, replacement caches were used as well as wet logs replaced. That should be enough to get the series through to the end. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the M2M series placement.
Grabbed the bike today to complete some more of the HSS series. I hope to finish it off today. Awesome weather for a ride. Lots of long grass, so eyes peeled for snakes as I've seen so many this season. Quick find here.TFTC!

Out with Geowife and Geodogs exploring the area. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
A SPOR sticking out for a easy find. TFTC and it’s in excellent condition. SL at 13:45pm.
Day 2 of the B2B walk. If you haven't heard of it, I would suggest you get on google. It's a wonderful event which I can say I am very proud to have been a participant and I'll definitely be back.
This 3 day event takes you from Beechworth to Bright in 3 days.
Geocaching was just a very tiny part of the fun. From meeting new people to hearing amazing stories, from amazing scenery to seeing wildlife (which I didn't see), it was a weekend that will remain with me forever.
By the end of the day I think I was known as the lady who keeps going into the bush (nature calls). My daughter at first was a little embarrassed but then thought it was a good laugh. It did spark up a conversation and it was a great opportunity for others to learn about geocaching
I walked past many caches and I could feel my fingers twitching but I knew I would return another time to grab some more.
TFTC I will be back soon

While walking from Everton to Myrtleford (Day 2 of the B2B, Beechworth to Bright Walk for Suicide Awareness #walktalksupport) I took the opportunity to grab a few caches along the way without raising too much attention with the other walkers #fail. It ended up being a good opportunity to explain geocaching to a lot of curious people. I'm sure we'll gain some new cachers from it. Nice hide, fantastic series. TFTC
Thought we would go over to Myrtleford for a night out and have some dinner. We thought we do some Caches on the way home

Always fun to be careering around the countryside in the eTOTT with the sun shining on my back and the wind clearing out the cobwebs.
There was a time when I thought drivebys were great, now I think cyclebys are the best, so long as I don't have to leave it too far out sight

A nice and quick find on an absolutely glorious spring afternoon.
Nice sized cache unfortunately had a good amount of water in it.
We placed the contents in the sun and picked them up, in a bit better condition, on our return walk.
Log book is safe and dry though.

Found doing the M2M rail trail with 2 of my sisters over three days. We started in Wang and rode to Beechworth. The next day we coasted 14km downhill from Beechworth and then rode to Myrtleford. Finally we rode to Bright on the 3rd day.
Thanks BettyBoo3747

A quick stop revealed not only a cache but also what appears to be a gravesite for old rustbuckets aka cars.
With the Mega festivities over it was time to head out of Wangaratta for a second day and hit the trails. With no others about we were on our own today although we did bump into others on our travels.
It was not so hot today and quite overcast. Ideal for caching. We drove to many, but also walked sections of the trails. We will return and ride much more when the weather is cooler.
By far the majority of caches were in good condition with most coordinates good although a few had us searching widely. We think some of our coords on caches without checkers however are incorrect. Back to the drawing board with those!
Our sincere thanks to the local cachers who have put in mammoth efforts in developing the copious number of caches in the area and maintaining them so effectively. Your efforts are appreciated.

After heading to tassie for almost 3 weeks, we detoured to Wangaratta for the Victorian Mega to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen for months if not years. We caught up with Freddo and e.gregory1 for the duration of the weekend, travelling around the local areas finding many of the caches that were on offer. To save room in the log books we signed as FEG or FEGC.
A wonderful area and nice to have a look around in somewhere I had only visited for 20mins before.
Thanks for the cache

Found on mega weekend. One of a bunch of caches found and logged.
e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found while attending the 2022 Mega event at Wangaratta.
I drove across from Adelaide with Freddo. We took a week to get there and back as we meandered our way around northern Victoria, camping mostly along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks.
While at the Mega we teamed up with gridge98 & Co. Most logs were signed FEGC (ie Freddo, e.gregory1 and gridge98 & Co).
We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other random caches opportunistically as we were passing. Most of the puzzle caches were solved prior to leaving Adelaide in preparation for the trip.
Although we managed to find a lot of caches over the weekend, we really only barely scratched the surface, leaving plenty of excuses to return to the area another time. I'm sure I'll be back.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

Most caches were found in great condition and were easily enough to spot, we also appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into placing and maintaining these caches for our benefit, thank you to all the CO's.

After travelling down from Canberra, FurfacesLL ladies and myself did our check in duties and then decided to head down to this smallish rail trail with the bikes to try get some finds up our sleeves. Grabbed a couple roadside ones along the way and then made our way to the most furtherest one to begin the ride. Was an enjoyable ride with some lovely scenic views along the way.

After leaving home a little later than we had planned, we finally arrived in Wangaratta and checked into our accommodation with Rapidlywild. Nice cabin that was a little toasty but we soon cooled that down with the air-conditioner while we unloaded the cars.
We then set off to do one of the trails that we had planned to attack also collecting others along our journey.
Nice trail and bike ride to fill in the afternoon and into the early evening. All caches were found although in various condition or otherwise noted.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining BettyBoo3747

I spotted this quite easily, which started my mind wandering. It's interesting that we geocachers develop a sense of suspicion as we gain experience. This was one of those hides where a muggle would not take a second glance, but we do.
Thanks BettyBoo, the day has turned out quite nice, weather wise, and this section of the trail is lovely, with suitable shade.

dalerious and catnap777 asked if I wanted to accompany them for a possible FTF hunt and a bit of caching[?][?]

34 cache attempts, between 9.31am and 1.51am the following morning, resulted in 5 DNFs and 29 finds
Starting in the Warbys, we ended up trying, but not succeeding, to complete the HSS series and finally ended the trip with a DNF in a foggy cemetery at Myrtleford
Found this one, woohoo!, that's one more less left to find now from this series[^]

Out today to finally make a start on the basketball GeoArt in the Beechworth area. The aim is to get as far as I can during the day.

Gps was out at first so i went up the hill, really didnt need to as this was a park and grab on the bike. Thanks
This morning was my last day in this lovely area, and I set about finding the ones I wanted to find rather than just seeing how many I could find. Quality over quantity you might say. Then it was undertaking the three hour drive back to Melbourne where I was keen to find some solved puzzle caches I hadn't found on my previous visit in November last year.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. A big thanks to the owners of all the caches I’ve found over the last three days, pretty much all of the caches I found were in good condition and well maintained. Cheers and TFTC

Day 2 Milawa, staying at the Brown Brothers RV area. From here we will cache in Wangaratta and Beechworth areas
I dropped Bill on his bike to do a section of the HSSeries that we had not done. This included a couple of M2M as well. He enjoyed his ride & said he only met one other cyclist along the trail.

Today is definitely our last day of caching along the M2M & Basketball, and we got rained out at Everton, which put stop for play today. 17/17, got to be happy with that. Unless we get time on Monday on our way to Wang with the Caravan, we wont be back for a few years. Hopefully when we return the basketball series will still be in play, and also hoping that there might be some more new hides in the area for us to play with.
My legs have had a good workout by now, so we decided to spit up. Leaving the geomobile on Bowmans Road, Mr D strode out to get a couple back along the trail, while I did the two closer ones. He had to walk 1.47 km x 2, while I think I had about .6K
Found spot on, by Mrs D. Thanks BettyBoo

Day 1 of 3 in the Beechworth area with Trailstevo tackling the HSS series and other in the area. Had a tough start with a few dnfs straight of the bat but we got going eventually. We were on bikes an the trail not as flat as we would have liked. Some excellent hides along the trails and country roads a great variety, never quite sure what we are to look for next.such a huge effort creating the Geoart, the puzzles and ongoing maintenance. TFTC. We have been working on this series for the last three seasons. Usually we are only in the area late January but this year we had to attend a funeral in Wangaratta and we extended our stay to do a housesit for a friend. The Autumn days are lovely and the remaining HSS and M2M caches require a bike ride. This was a nice easy find and a good start to the ride.

Out and about today for my last full day in Bright, I headed out of town towards Beechworth, a town I am fond of. So much history and scenic locations. I normally come up to this area once per year, and each time I do, I tend to knock off a few in this series, not in the preferred way (by bike), but rather on foot. Today I grabbed another couple that were a bit further away from a road and thus required a little more time. Found it very quickly, although it was well hidden.

With the car parked at the nearest intersection we slowly walked up to this one enjoying the sunshine along the way. At GZ we found a telltale sign of a cache and soon after had the log signed.

The early morning frost turned into a beautiful sunny winter's day. We found some of the caches on bike and others as drive bys. Our thanks for the great effort in creating this enjoyable series and bringing us to this picturesque countryside.
Found the cache easy enough but it seems from a strange previous entry that a non catcher has also stumbled across this cache. Couldn't quite read what had been written but i could read seemed odd.
We had been in the area 2 weeks earlier but ran out of time before heading back to Melbourne. Decided to take our daughter to Beechworth for some de-stressing from the city. Was lent a bike from the owner of our Woolshed accommodation so ... more shots at some of the HSS and other cycle series caches ! A very pleasant morning looking for caches in drier conditions than last visit, maybe a bit cold at the start of the morning but warmed up after finding a few caches. Thanks for all the caches in this area!

14th find whilst cycling from Beechworth to Myrtleford. My thanks to the cache owners for the great caches along the trail.
As my parents were a fair way back I stopped here to let them catch up. After looking in the wrong spot a few times I spied the cache and had the log signed. Thanks for a decent sized cache!

Find #19 of an eventual 107 on a Good Friday cachestravaganza with SirJ-Oz, Louiseann and Annoying Tarbit (or Team SLAPAT for the smaller logsheets).
This was another of the bonus caches that wasn't loaded into my GPSr, so I had no choice but to hang back and wait for someone else to make the find. I actually rode straight past it heading for the next in the HSS series, and by the time I turned round & headed back SirJ-Oz had the cache in hand. Thanks BettyBoo3747.

We picked this cache up at 12:06pm. The track is still streching off into the distance.... It feels like we have been going for hours already and we have only found 17 of our target caches..... but we had to stop for this one too!!
Annoying Tarbit, SirJ-Oz, AmethystPig and I decided to head to Beechworth and try for 100 caches in a day. We made it, but it was a long hard day, with a few others along the way, we managed 107 for Good Friday. Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747!

Find #854
As a team of LouiseAnn, SirJ-Oz, AmethystPig and Annoying Tarbit we were in the area for the HoopStars Series. We also tried a few traditional caches as we passed by and this was one of 107 finds in total for the day. For this one we had part of the team navigating to the next puzzle and so we ended up having to loop back a short distance to find this one. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited my personal TB. Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747 and I hope to get back for the rest of the series one day.
