On a visit with McLookers, Micaparamedic and Muzza. We had a great afternoon getting lots of finds and no DNFs, with only a little rain despite the dismal forecast of thunderstorms and torrential showers. Signed as 3MC.
Heading to Wang with McLookers to meet up with ConnieandRick and Muzza for a few days caching on the HSS series before they are archived next month. We met the others at our accommodation for the next few days, had lunch then headed out for a few caches, fun and frivolity. Goals successfully achieved. Logs were signed as 3MC, being the initials of our caching tags. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Today i left Harrietville, farewelling Ronice after a fabulous, rather eventful, Harrietville geocaching experience. Up here I'm like a little kid in a lolly shop as there are SO MANY CACHES! Headed to Wang and just winged it when I wanted to stop. Thanks for another of your many caches BettyBoo3747 - I am enjoying them and appreciate you placing so many - more lollies!many regardskbucky
Chook joined forces with The Tritonz and headed to Wangaratta for a couple of days, with the main targets being to find a few solved puzzles and tackle the HSS Basketball Geoart before it gets archived soon.First cache for Day 2 and the start of the second bike trail for us. It was a bit of an uphill slog to Taylors Gap - made a bit harder for the bike-unfit Chook by the back brake cable being locked on - something she didn't notice until just before the gap (not needing the brakes of course). So this slowed our pace down a bit because she walked small sections of the trail gaining her breath before jumping back on the bike. A bit more fitness and no brakes locked on, and things will be different next time! Anyway a nice easy find to get us started. TFTC BettyBoo3747.
With Geelong Cup and an RDO leading into our weekend it was time to head up north in the company of chooknchunk and finally try and complete the HSS Series before the CO finally says goodbye to the Basketball caches forever.Today, after a good nights sleep, we tackled the next leg of the series on the rail trail. The fit Triton and chook started down at Gapsted Cricket Ground to be met with a very steep hill, which couldnt be avoided, so a slow and steady trip was made for the first 7 mystery caches before reaching the top at Taylors Gap, then a nice downhill run helped pick up their momentum. After that it was an easy run (especially after chook released her brake cable that was caught on) collecting each solved puzzle as well as the M2M trad series. This was the perfect place to be dropped off by the designated driver and find our first cache for the day. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the M2M series placement.
Whilst up in Bright for the Pineapple Express mountain bike event, we decided to knock off some local caches on our way home, but who needs a reason to visit this beautiful place
Nice easy find tftc

Staying an extra night at our shack in Punkah with middle child and Roxy dog whilst hubby and the two other kids went home today. We decided to tackle some HSS series and caches in Wang.

Driving home from Myrtleford to Shepparton today and trying to put smiley faces where I don't already have them between Myrtleford and Everton. Beautiful little cricket ground. Nice hide TFTC
#17234 - 12:24:00 PM; Headed back to Melbourne to pick up the geomum and took a short detour to add another County/LGA to the found list. Decided to collect a few in this series before heading back towards the highway. No problems here and I managed to turn it into a park and grab too as the cache was soon in hand and the log signed. TFTC BettyBoo3747
Completed previously as BlackOpal2005. My daughter I thought it was time to create our own accounts.
Another quick grab as we drove through to Myrtleford

Came here by bike, along the beautiful trail. A lady stopped on her bike to ask for the way to Beechworth. While V was telling her, S was being eaten alive by ants.

Day Four: a bit of everything.
Well this is all a bit odd. See previous logs. Two DNFs in October last year and the CO provides a replacement the same month. I am the next person to come along (RoddyC was later in the day). I find two identical caches in a very easy location, and what’s more I think the old one was on top of what is obviously the new one. Identical cache design. Did a muggle steal the cache, feel guilty and brought it back? I’ve taken the old cache with me to avoid confusion; I’m sure it can get used somewhere between here and Adelaide.
Thanks for cache (both of them) BettyBoo3747

After leaving home a little later than we had planned, we finally arrived in Wangaratta and checked into our accommodation with Rapidlywild. Nice cabin that was a little toasty but we soon cooled that down with the air-conditioner while we unloaded the cars.
We then set off to do one of the trails that we had planned to attack also collecting others along our journey.
Nice trail and bike ride to fill in the afternoon and into the early evening. All caches were found although in various condition or otherwise noted.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining BettyBoo3747

After travelling down from Canberra, FurfacesLL ladies and myself did our check in duties and then decided to head down to this smallish rail trail with the bikes to try get some finds up our sleeves. Grabbed a couple roadside ones along the way and then made our way to the most furtherest one to begin the ride. Was an enjoyable ride with some lovely scenic views along the way.

Called past to check this one today. Seems it has disappeared in the past 2 months. New container and log book now back in play.
No luck locating this one today had previous finders with me you also couldn’t find.
Thought we would have to walk from the car. But no…a true park and grab. Almost from the window! TFTC.
I drove Aquilus1 around Victoria, it was a great trip and some great sights were seen. It was actually very relaxing not being involved in where/what we were collecting....I should do it again sometime. Thanks for making me come, it cheered me up no end.

We are going to have to come back and finish this series as it looks like it will be a great one to complete. Lovely area. Another one that we picked up whilst chasing basketballs. Thanks for the cache.
Out today to finally make a start on the basketball GeoArt in the Beechworth area. The aim is to get as far as I can during the day.
Starting the trail from this end. Grabbed this quick cache to kick it off.

Today was day four of our Beechworth holiday (take two, post the very disappointing escape from Victoria Covid of 2020).
We drove down to Bowmans station and rode over the Taylors Gap hill to Myrtleford where we had lunch, and grabbed some caches on our way back. On sunset we went for a stroll around Beechworth to pick up Randolph's Church Multi, and grabbed an Echo cache while we were out.
This was the fourth cache for the day, a small diversion from the trail - and as I rode up, I was wondering if a bit of a climb might be in order - but , nope, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. No sixes were hit while we were there.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.

A nice rural location and a lovely quiet track where the cache was soon found.
Trip log: I have had a trip in mind for a while now, a 'Victoria loop' which would see a number of counties travelled through but also visit the last active Web Cam left for me in Australia and a 2000 cache which would see my Ausmer complete! A trip would not be complete without some company so a little convincing and a suitable friend was talked into coming along... and for good measure they would drive and keep me from getting myself into too much trouble while at it!
Counties featured high on my list, but each one filled with quality... oldies, larges, and types that where sought. As is the way the list led to a varied and interesting trip with some very amazing locations discovered along the way.
Day one saw a lot of distance travelled but just four caches found for the day, all quality and after a trip up Mt Buller late in the day we settled into the finest lodgings Mansfield had left.
Day two started well and the highlight among many was GC7A with my Ausmer complete but a great cache location and the gate installed for easy access was a hit. Our journey took us onto a number of locations and through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was here with the light drizzle that settled into solid rain that I was thankful of my driver who calmly followed my directions despite the conditions as I juggled caches on my list to replace the walks the rain and the 13 degrees weather had made too uncomfortable. Ending the day cold and wet in Dandenong the accommodation made up for the previous nights and the local pizza sure did hit the spot.
Day three saw a return to lovely weather with us driving the guard rail hwy... endless guardrails on all roads. Frankie the Gnome wasn't on the list but too hard to miss as we passed! Down to Mornington Peninsula and through some interesting locations towards Lakes entrance and stopped in Bairnsdale overnight.
Day four and after a little local caching around the 'lakes' area on another lovely day, it was the long haul up towards Eden. The 2020 fires devastation was enormous as we drove through the endless winding road with all the fluffy looking regrowth. Crazy to think back to that time and see how nuts it all was. Another full day but made it safe and sound back home again.
Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that led us on an enjoyable journey through some interesting locations with great places visited along the way..

As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.
If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.
TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.
I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

Oval was very soggy due to the rain. Saw where the cache would be quite easily. Tftc
Staying around Benalla and today was a day travelling from Benalla over to Myrtleford and back to Benalla another way. The weather was much kinder to us today compared to 2 days ago 2 days ago when we were caching. Found the cache, signed the log and placed the cache back where found. TFTC.
No cricket on here today. A great bit of history noted on the cache page, who would've thought that a world record was made right here in Gapsted.
After wondering around in circles cache was found by Mrs Clazza..
Thanks BettyBoo..

Walked to obvious hide area and couldn't see it. Circled around after that as our phones had us everywhere. Went back to first spot and guess what!?! And I've had lunch, so couldn't use that as my excuse lol TNLN TFTC
This morning was my last day in this lovely area, and I set about finding the ones I wanted to find rather than just seeing how many I could find. Quality over quantity you might say. Then it was undertaking the three hour drive back to Melbourne where I was keen to find some solved puzzle caches I hadn't found on my previous visit in November last year.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. A big thanks to the owners of all the caches I’ve found over the last three days, pretty much all of the caches I found were in good condition and well maintained. Cheers and TFTC

We headed out for one particular cache that we needed for a challenge cache and decided to find whatever cache was on the road as we headed back to Wangaratta. Most geocachers know that we do not know how to take the shortest or most direct road.
We had one DNF out of the caches we attempted, some were easy, some were more taxing, some were low and others were high, thankfully hubby is tall. All caches are in good condition. SL TFTC

What a perfect day for a bit of a wonder along the rail trail with Cybergran V and LizzieandE.
Seriously....What chance do you have of being discrete when the local cricket team are yelling directions guiding you to GZ (outside the grounds) from the club house as you step out of the car. [:o]
If anyone on that team or the visiting side didn't know about geocaching, I guess they do now.
Im guessing we were not the first geocachers to arrive here on a Saturday.
Cache and contents in good condition. [8)]
TFTC BettyBoo3747
P.S. I just had to know who does hold the world record for a third wicket innings.
Interesting to note that the 3rd highest to world record for a 3rd wicket partnership was still higher than any other wicket innings partnership.

There was actually a cricket match in progress when we arrived and a chap wandered over to make sure we knew where the cache was, but dalerious had already found it. In the meantime LizzieandE was able to gain valuable local knowledge about the roads in the vicinity.
It’s lovely when the friendly locals come out to help you.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the interesting history. What amazing scores! Australian cricket teams desperately need this caliber of batting at the moment (:-p
Recently we have been camping in an area where there is no phone reception, so today is catch up on logging day. Each cache we have found over the last few days had our name noted on the log and each was replaced as it had been found. Our apologies for the mostly generic log, but sometimes specific comments have been added.
Thank you to BettyBoo3747 for placing this cache.

Next one while doing the Murray to Mountains rail trail. Stopped here for the loo and found a cache while here. Can just image the cricket matches that have been played here TFTC
Out with a couple of newbies today, who I will call Isaak22, GreenLion and his mum and ThunderQuack. They may or may not register their caching names. Isaak has done a couple o f caches previously, but we could not find his registered caching name. GreenLion's mum was our driver, I was the navigator and tutor. With the app on the tablet, and two GPS's we were guaranteed at least a couple of finds.
About to drop Isaak22 home, he said, there was one close by, that he had found a few weeks ago. Sure enough, there was a cache, and his signature. The rest of us signed it and returned.
Thanks BB for another hide.

Loved the fact that this geocache was a bit larger and contained some treasures. We added a silver 'bear claw' (pictured) as a trackable but have not yet logged it as a trackable.....will do this when we get home.

Okay so trackables don't work how I first thought, so please disregard my message below about adding a trackable to this geocache. It seems we added a treasure not a potential trackable.
After a restful sleep in at Benalla and breakfast at Wangaratta, we headed for home via Bright and the Great Alpine Road as far as the Dargo turnoff at Hotham Heights, then home via Dargo.
We weren't in a hurry, but we didn't waste a lot of time either and the cache here was soon located and we were on our way again.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for this series of caches, of which we've been chipping away at for a couple of years now.

Day 1 of 3 in the Beechworth area with Trailstevo tackling the HSS series and other in the area. Had a tough start with a few dnfs straight of the bat but we got going eventually. We were on bikes an the trail not as flat as we would have liked. Some excellent hides along the trails and country roads a great variety, never quite sure what we are to look for next.such a huge effort creating the Geoart, the puzzles and ongoing maintenance. Thanks to all the CO’s and special thanks to Jamin. TFTC
Yaaaay! Tried for this one when it was AWOL, so glad to have found it this time! Log a little damp but ok. TFTC!
Found while we were out along the trail this afternoon and we managed a quick find thanks to the size of the cache. Inetersting story of this old ground and l am sure that the current ACB would be interested in looking at a few past players from here to add to their existing team. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the hide and the bit of local history from this quiet area.
