Logs
It had rained last night and the water was flowing so a plunge was not on and a leap was looking like a stretch too far. We explored further and the step was eventually taken. We agree with previous finders - it is about 10 meters out. TFTC.
We needed one for the calendar so this was it. TFTC Jonti

Found about 10m out also but all in all a nice little hide. We too took the long way and walked until we found a nice dry spot to scoot over. Tftc, found with KIFCAT
Found it with the help of the local roo's!
Coordinates quite off (approx 10m).
Great little hiding spot.

Found approx 10m away from GPS Coordinates. Good hiding spot, however not as obvious as previous logs indicate as there are plenty of unnatural items laying around.

So frustrating. Perhaps a clue would be in order. Kudos to whoever has found the thing.
This was our 4th cache find in the caching run & we found it at 12:43
So this now makes our total find count 6304.
[blue]
Leap, plunge or. . . after finding a board nearby we used it as a very springy bridge, which turned out to be very fragile while Penny was crossing. So she got wet [xx(]. (And Ian laughed)
After finding over 6304 caches, it is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While some nanos have their place, eclipse tins and 200ml Sistemas seem to be the norm these days, especially where a larger container could have been placed. Doesn't anyone want to place large caches any more. [?] [red]This spot really deserves a large cache![/red]
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Carabiner.
Thanks 379Jonti379 for the hunt today.

Thanks 379Jonti379 for the hunt today.
Took the leap but then realized I'm trying to find a micro in the bush - pushed on to others
Our 2nd day of caching in the Bedigo region.
Have been to some great areas this morning, old gold mine sites, parkes & waterways.
All have been good quality caches.
This one I left for geo hubby to show me his skills. Took the leap with the aid of some local products near GZ. Worth a favourite point.

Was with DoorMatt and ronnienash when 'we' discovered it. This was my first ever night of caching, which added to the excitement. Thanks for the interestingly hidden cache!
Unfortunately the knees weren't up to a leap and I wasn't inclined to a plunge. A stroll of about 100 metres located a place that I was able to step over the abyss and then walk back through the bush to gz. A search around wasn't producing the required result so a quick read of previous logs indicated broadening the area and this soon produced the goods at around 8 metres from gz. Name scratched into the log and it was back to the geoPatrol. Many thanks 379Jonti379.
dnf! Went out at 10:30pm, walked around to a spot with a smaller gap and then leaped then went bush, had an iPhone torch that was it, benno12 had no torch and fell into the water, after half an hour of looking, gave up and walked in the water , it smells so bad! Will try again in a couple days !
out for the weekend with INKLE to do the Axedale,
4x4,s smiley face and Bendigo area.
big leap.

Found by Mary & David at 1430. We didn't trust our legs either for the leap or the plunge, but managed to find a spot where a mere hop would suffice, followed by a bit of extra bush-bashing to reach GZ. A lovely spot of bush, but a worry that it is so dry already. After widening our search, we found the cache about 8m from our indicated GZ. Seems a few others have had a similar experience so we noted the coordinates at the cache for future reference. Our thanks to 379Jonti379.
Argh I hate dnf's! Took a plunge as there was no way my legs could take a leap, decided to leave shoes on wrong side, searched for a little while then had take another plunge to search again with shoes, and still didn't come up with the goods many tracks around the area, could these all be geotrails?
500th find Shouldnt trust the GPS maps, as it had the cache on the other side of the channel. Took a step of faith over the channel and then bush bashed to get to the cache, must remember to wear long pants when searching in this terrain! Found after a short search about 8m from GZ. TFTC
The only DNF out of about 25 found on a family trip to Marong with the recently restored caravan, a 1962 Franklin, which has been saved from the dump with a complete restore.... Stayed for 2 nights at Marong Caravan park and engaged in both day and night caching in the area.
Had a good look, but just couldn't locate it with the kids running around a bit, so I decided to give up on it. Maybe later.

We weren't confident with this one after reading previous posts where the cache was found 9 metres away from where their GPS led them, but after widening our search, I stumbled across the cache after about 15 minutes. TFTC!
Found #1105 @ 1530 Hrs whist in Bendigo to attend the Tigersden - 250 Hides Event. A couple of milestones this Weekend with my Son (Warrior99) achieving his 100 finds & me able to log his first hide...
I was out & about with Warrior99... I don't Leap or Plunge ~ I 'Jump or Dunk'... I used the strategically located rocks to get across... Took a little while to find as the GPS had us some 9 metres from GZ...
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks for bringing me here. *Cache Condition ~ Fine...

In true Olympic spirit we each chose how to approach the GZ. We both executed a commendable triple jump. After landing safely, then extending the search area our name was added to the log in dimming light. Today the satellites had the GZ some 10m NNE of the cache location.
TNLN . . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt 379Jonti379.

Plunge on the way over and leap on the way back. After all the olympics are nearly upon us and I wanted to enter a couple of events today, long jump being one of them. Plenty of water flowing after yesterday's rain too.
Thanks jonti
Thanks jonti
551. A bad end to the morning's caching with a second DNF. Maybe we were put off by the local kids that were whacking things with other things and disappeared into the bush when they saw us.
Did neither as it was dry not far up. Cache found once I looked in the right spot with the GPS saying 11m.
Found with Mum & Dad.
Dad jumped over for this one.
I wanted to but i am just too small.
When dad found the cache he chucked it over for Mum & I to sign.
Thanks Jonti

We walked as close as we could go to this one.
Rain started to fall as we decided how to get across.
A run up and jump was needed and Ben just reached the other side as the rain began to get heavy.
Luckily the cache was found quickly so it was signed and then we ran back to the car laughing all the way.
Thanks for a different one Jonti!

I didnt have to leap or Plunge as Hanseeka Husband did all the leaping for me! Took a while to find. TFTF son x
Lept across hoping for a quick find at sunset but it took a few minutes. With the cache hidden 9m from posted coordinates ALOT of geotrails are forming in this bush area.
Took the leap over to get the cache with no issues. Got a damp foot on the leap back! Cache was located about 9m off the GPSr position. Thanks Jonti.
took the other option the long walk ,i didnt have nick to leap so ang and i walked in ,after reading logs we searched futher away from gz and found it tftc
Found it No. 4814 ... Mrs TR had shoes off quickly and swam across the channel ... and was not long had found it 9 mts out ... TNLN ... 379Jonti379
Found at about 11.00pm. Thanks to the Elite night vision and Elite search skills of the Elitedude, who was first to find.
I arrived at the location with Elitedude, Romax and Crazycreels turning on a torchlight display. Lights everywhere. Each of the teams seemed to have managed to park in a variety of places. I had thongs on so chose to wet my feet, as a leap with thongs on would not have been wise in the dark.
My gps had me about 10 metres from the cache. Thanks to Elitedude for finding the cache, I had been involved in the search for about 10 - 15 minutes and wasn't far off surrendering.
I think another cacher may have been arriving whilst we were leaving.
TFTC Jonti.

After having set up alerts a day or two ago I received a notification on this cache and decided to head straight out to find it.
Although being somewhat new to geocaching I had some idea what the race to find the caches first in Bendigo was like. I was surprised to arrive around 30 minutes after the cache had been published to discover that I was fifth to find the cache. Briefly met the Max half of Romax whilst arriving.
Thanks for the cache Jonti.

FTF.
I was at home watching the tellie when suddenly the phone went off. A notification appeared that a new cache was 500 metres away! I jumped up, got straight into the car and left without delay as I know there are a few keen teams always looking for a FTF in the Bendigo caching community. And I was right! Upon leaping to GZ, it was only after a minute had elapsed that I saw headlights. It was Romax! Crazy Creels and billywillysillydilly arrived shortly after.
After roughly a 15 minute search high and low in potential hiding spots, I eventually had the cache in hand, yelling out "Found it!" claiming my first FTF.

Cheers,

Found by Roma and Max.
GZ was certainly saturated with lighting tonight, yet it still took time to find your well hidden container.
Well done elite, as it was beginning to look like we would all be returning in the daylight to resume the hunt!
It is good to see geo enthusiasm is high in Bendigo as you can just about determine the sequence of arrival at GZ by knowing where each team starts from!
Nice also to meet another new player tonight.
Thanks jonti, it is also good to have the opportunity to find another of your hides.
Cheers,
from Romax.

Paul decided to take the leap to a busy GZ. Romax billysillywillydilly and elitedude made up the search party but it was elitedude that made the find with his iphone. The coords had Paul about 5m away. After signing the log, he leapt back across the water and pulled a hamstring in the process. TNLNSLN Thanks for the cache Jonti.
