School holiday trip to Auckland/Coromandel with the family. After staying the night in Auckland we are now making tracks to Hot Water Beach. So many caches & not enough time.....Stopped in Thames to grab a few days food supplies from the supermarket. Stopped past here for a look but came up empty.
Tffc. Loved the camo. Didn’t want to be seen loitering by the donations box haha. Was about to give up but decided to do one more check nearby
After parking over night at Rhodes Park, I drove into town, and parked around the corner from the shopping mall here. After a feed at McD's, I enjoyed a leisurely bike ride around this part of the trail. This is a neat park, complete with minature ride on train for the kids. Nice quick find here, between passing muggles, TFTC
Heading slowly towards Hamilton for tonight's event; couldn't leave the Coromandel without stopping in Thames.
The walk to the Bird Hide is impressive - interesting to see the mangroves close to low tide.
I remember some Scientist friends being sponsored by the French Govt to study in France, as part of the reparations, back in the day.
Thanks for this cache, G-2 & K-G.

After a library day we still had to do a cache to get our streak going. In pouring rain we had a look for this one. It took a few minutes to locate the little one. Very nice idea. Nice hide. Because we think the container is self made we give a favourite point.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

Over here on tour from Brissy so finding a few caches on way around. Loved the bird hide. History sad. Tftc
Found this cache together with my family (Sibuk and Finn). For details see the log of Sibuk.
Thanks for the cache, Lupid
Thanks for the cache, Lupid
Originally Lupid and I wanted to stay for the night in Thames, but as there were some problems with our accomodation we only stayed for a short break - and for this cache with some initeresting information - especially as we have been to the Memorial for the Rainbow Warrior a few weeks ago in the North.
TFTC and greetings from Germany, Sibuk

Really cool hide, took me a minute to realise the cache wasn't part of the scenery. Loving my visit to Thames, thanks for the opportunity to stop.
Greetings from Finland. We have tree weeks holiday and we are travelling all around NZ by Camper van.
The bird track was closed, but I was curious to see what is the end of the track. TFTC

A nice birdwatching gazebo. Something wrong with my imagination, since it took several minutes to find an easy cache
What a sneaky little hide. Thanks for bringing us this way - it's a great spot - TFTC
Always enjoy the intertidal zone. The bird hide was a bonus, as was the cache. Tftc.

So fixated on the bird hide that I didn't check my GPS and suddenly realised I was on the cache. A quick search revealed the clever hide but I then had to busk for a few minutes until it was muggle free enough to sign and replace. This is a bit of Thames I never knew existed. TFTC. A pity the train wasn't running.
Cute cache and such a cool spot. Wish I could have stayed longer to see some birds. Had to get a bit inventive to retrieve log! Thanks for the cache! Devvin
Fascinating history. How the Rainbow Warrior got attached to Thames must be another story??!! Few birds around, but a very nice hide. This was Day 2 of our cycle group's Thames to Miranda ride - sunny and light breeze. Great day for caching. Cache is all good. TFTC
Nice hiding place, I missed out the first time I looked in the place.

Heading home from a couple a days exporing around Whitianga. Stopped for a feed of Fish n Chips but before we do that time for another quick cache..... Well it would have been if we did not decide to replace the full log. Sometimes this cache maintenance malarky can be more time cosuming than you realise. Especially with micro caches and log sheets that are to big. All sorted in the end. TFTC
While geowife went to the PaknSave to get supplies for our picnic lunch I got the hound out of the back of the geowagon and stretched his legs as we walked down to gz to look for this one. Went past a small gauge railway, not working on this cool early spring day which was bad news for the local kids but good news for us as it meant we had GZ to ourselves apart from the odd walker.
Got to the spot and had a quick look and then checked the hint. Aha, that helps and then looked in a couple of different places and there it was, a good way to disguise one of these hides, fits right in. Pleased to have my pocket knife tweezers with me as that made extracting the log much easier. The coast still clear, the cache was quickly put back in place and we made the walk back to see what was on offer for lunch. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Great hide and a lovely spot to enjoy the surroundings on a sunny autumn day. I wasn't able to remove log from the container to sign but have taken a photo to show we have found. Future cachers may want to bring some tweezers. Tftc
A quick and easy find. Walked o the bird hide to sign the log. Logbook is full. TFTC
A shopping trip alowed me to walk over to the GZ of this one. I spotted it and had the right tool with me. The logbook needs to be changed!
I like the name by the way.

After coming down from the memorial I decided to check a few caches out in town before grabbing g coffee and heading back to Hams. I waited for muggles to leave by checking out the bird watching place, and came back and muggled a geocacher from Fielding! Sorry I didn't get your name, was good to meet you.
After planning a trip to the bay of plenty for easter to gather a cache or two, it changed dramatically (we thought) when we heard that cyclone cook was about to bear down on this area our hopes had dropped .
But no almost the complete opposite, so after getting bike and body sorted it was to the start we went and ride the HRT trail, we started in thames and the plan was to ride to te aroha if the body allowed.
Nice quick find here exactly where and how it should be.
Thanks for the smiley and the placement.
Muggled by a fellow geocacher

We decided we'd head to Thames for the day for a look around and a bit of caching. After looking around at the Farmers Market nearby, we headed to this one. Parked the car and made the short walk to GZ. Lots of people out walking so we headed to the bird viewing lookout first and then came back once the coast was clear. A nice quick find here but the log is completely full. Didnt have a spare on us unfortunately so just added our initials on a tiny whitespace. Nice camo and placement, TFTC!
In Thames for one night on a motorcycle tour around Coromandel, and picked this up on the way back from dinner. My three mates had not seen a geocache, so an interesting cache and a quick find impressed them. Maybe they will sign up?
Thanks
Thanks
Really brilliant cache, this is the first time I see a cache like this one.

As French people, we had to come visit this one.
Beautiful camo, worth the visit.

On a 10 day holiday of the North Island of NZ visiting from Australia sl thanks for the cache.
Due to the hint, I looked in the wrong place first, but eventually found it. Nice idea.
Thanks for hiding!

Found on a trip to coromandel with visitor from uk, nice hide took a minute to think but then cache was in hand. Cheers
A quick stop as we head off for a late January road trip. Heading off around the Coromandel. Time to take the young Gadgets for a quick cache while Mrs G gets some supplies. Lovely walkway. Tftc
TFTC! Loved the short walk and being able to reflect on this important event in NZ's history.
Found on our day trip to Coromandel peninsula to see the pinnacles TFTC
Despite the picnicking muggles we were able to snag this unnoticed. Neat camouflage.
Exploring Thames together with MUEZ: Unfortunately, we did not see any bird (most probably because of the rather noisy kids fooling around). Nevertheless, the birds were not the reason for our visit but this well hidden cache which was found by MUEZ after we had searched the wrong object at first. / TFTC!
Beautiful weekend to see the Coromandel area
I forgot my pen but here is a pic from the last log

Nice and quiet on a weekday. Passing through on the way to hit the Hauraki Rail Trail.

Today, on a windy and cloudy day, we have made a short 6 km walk along 6 caches in Thames. All caches were quickly found.
Our big thanks to all COs for bringing us to these interesting places.
*The first one today, a very neat hide; thanks for the hint.*

Found this one on a short stroll along the Coast. Nice place and good hide! TFTC
As we were not prepared for caching, I didn't had a pen with me :/
So here's my photo log

Somehow I'd scored another leave pass so a short notice call went out over FB, leaving Tauranga by 8am. TNXPro & Jenseeker were up for it and this was our 49th find. We signed the log combinations of PTJ depending on who had the pen. I've got a soft spot for these sorts of caches so cheers G--2. Not a particular fan of mangroves so no bird watching for me. Muggles were all over the place too so we moved on. TFTC

Got it! But for the life of me couldn't get the log out to sign! Be back tomorrow to sign the log
Nice easy find. Hardest part was getting the log out Checked out the birds at the bird hide. Very cool spot. TFTC.
Bit of a cold morning but as we were driving past decided to stop in to earn a smiley. Nice quick find. TFTC
We found it quickly, but nicely hidden. To get it out was pretty difficult . Favo point
What an interesting cache, never seen anything quite like it but great hide, thanks.
Quick find here however i spent about ten minutes trying to pry the logsheet out, eventually gave up and went and got tweezers, then came back to finish the job. Would definitely recommend bringing tweezers Love these types of caches nonetheless! Thanks
Historic Thames and some bird watching.
A straightforward find.
All in order here; log signed, then cache safely re-hidden just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Very clever hide. Lovely Sunday morning. Grabbed the cache, waved to the kids on the train. Waited for the muggles to pass went to sign log - pen wouldnt work. Grabbed another pen - waved to the train again then was able to replace.PHEW
Started off looking in the wrong place, but broadened our search to include more likely hiding places. Found the cache but our tweezers are back in Aus so we weren't sure if we'd be able to extract it. Fortunately it came out with a sneaky pen trick!
Very cool thanks Glyn ! Love this sort ! Yes ...I had tweezers !
Off soon to get on our bikes !

Out in Thames for doing the HRT series. We decided that we will pick few drive-by caches here around. Supernanny made a quick find here and luckily she had her tweezers too. tftc Glyn..!!

Thought this one might be tricky but as it turned out they don't call supernanny super for nuthin'! Me and harisree watched on..... then we're off, caching around Thames on a super beautiful morning! We have 3 bikes, one HRT power trail ahead of us and a super amount of enthusiasm, energy and lots of goodies to eat.
Remembered the tweezers, re-checked the clue and was rewarded with the log. Lots of muggles around so stealth required. TFTC
Hardest part getting log out. Bring tweezers. Plenty of birds. Well done Forest and Bird
Great hide. Quiet day for birds. Loved the walk between caches! What a colourful asset to Thames. Tftc
Quick after lunch find. Apparently, also the birds had a lunch break!

Went out and looked at the birds first and then back to the real hide cunning TFTC
Gorgeous sunshine meant not many birds were visible, but I enjoyed the walk, and the cache. Excellent hide and neat hint - thank goodness for fingernails!! Worth a favourite point. TFTC
