Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Signing as CIA-Canberra Invasion of Albury. Thanks for getting me out and about trigpoint tom

33,821. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks Trigpoint Tom !!

So much interesting details of the brave around this town!
We made the search for this cache a real mess and had to be straightened out by a friend. The cache was found to be in bad condition, but we were still able to sign the log book.
Thanks trigpoint tom.
Feedback: The container was full of water and the log book very wet.

This cache took a few visits over different weekends as we were out and about completing other caches at the same time in the different locations. Today was the day we collected the last data for the final GZ coordinates. Like some previous logs at stage 4, we had to use our 'geosenses' to find the correct information using the descriptions. The council must have improved the displays for the plaques here. We enjoyed learning the history of the area. GZ was a quick find, all good here. TFTC

Back in town for Christmas and swinging around Albury picking up new and previously attempteds. This was one I just never got to last visit, so it became a bit of a priority this trip - have spent the afternoon bouncing about the place, clearly in the wrong order (like I care - it was cooler driving in the car) and visiting the various waypoints. Being a topic of some importance to me I did want to do this with time to spend at each spot. My thanks to Geodaughter Grace for her selections - I think a good spread of the better and perhaps lesser known service personnel from Albury. And I love that she was involved.

I found the description of stage 4 a bit weird - maybe the plaques have been shifted around? The questions were clear, no issues, but just not as described. Anyways. I eventually got lots of numbers, did the advanced algebra and my santa impression (checked it all twice), and yes I was literally as far away from GZ as you get, but the drive was nice.

No worries at GZ, although I missed it first pass, all is good here.

Thanks trigpoint tom for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #10243}* Cool

What an awesome multi. I am back visiting family so I grabbed OZREG to make the most of the glorious weather and catch up on some missed caches around the region. OZREG replaced the container on this one as it was broken and letting the water in. Thank you J for a concise multi.

Once again getting out of the house and cache. Remembering the fallen also reminds just how young many of them were. Appreciate the effort in this cache creation. Fav awarded.
Because of Monument referbishment, changes to description are: 1. Directly BELOW Nicholson, and 2. Immediately ABOVE Schaefer.

On the day before Remebrance Day, Matho64 and I enjoyed completing this multi. It was lovely to see the beautiful red roses at the War Cemetery gardens.

Found with PapaGrouch on a trip to Albury. He had started collecting information last week while I was in hospital, but a couple of numbers seemed to be incorrect. We started again from the beginning today so I could collect all the information and he could recheck his figures. Made our way from WP to WP gathering the numbers, several places visited that we hadn't been before. At Stage 4 things didn't quite match the description, I'm not sure if the plaques have been reordered or what, but left and right directions were actually up and down. Luckily there was enough further information in the description to get the correct numbers. At Stage 5 we sat down and did some calculating and then set off to GZ where we found the cache. It was in good condition after not being found for over 2 years. Thanks for the interesting journey trigpoint tom and TFTC.

it was ANZAC day and finding this cache seemed like the perfect way to spend it, after taking part in the day's festivities I began my journey, I really enjoyed looking at the memorials to little known Australian heroes. as I got closer and closer to GZ, the heavens began to open, it was raining as I was calculating the final GZ coords, good thing they weren't too far away, i quickly located the cache upon arrival at GZ and I signed the log.

Another multi to add to our statistics! This one took a lot longer than we realised, but each waypoint was excellent. We diligently collected the numbers and after a small mistake in our mathematics, we soon arrived at GZ. SL at 2.44pm TN Left: eagle PT in memory of mr harrowang’s Dad, who was a veteran of WW1. #5120 TFTC and the journey trigpoint tom.

Thank you for leading me on this tour of albury. Picked the first two up coming back from Thurgoona. Realised had enough light to find the remainder, and once GZ sorted was a quick stroll to get the cache.
Had never seen the plaques around the memorial on the hill so thank you you for opening my eyes.
A favourite from me

This multi took us on a tour of significant locations in Albury. Data collection at each point was straightforward. With the final coordinates calculated, accuracy led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks trigpoint torn for an interesting cache.

So we started this cache back in 2015 and got a few clues before putting it aside for a little while. Today was the day we decided to finish it. We got the rest of the clues and punched in the coordinates and went to gz. After a quick search we found it

This cache has been on the radar for sometime being a cache in my local area.. i had some time to spare before school pick up yesterday and managed to get the first three waypoints completed.. once the kids sporting commitments were completed today it was off to gather the final pieces of the puzzle... I personally enjoyed taking a few moments to wander the well kept cemetery reading the headstones and feeling quite grateful for the sacriffices made for us to live as we do today...
Cache was located, log signed and returned with a couple of toy soldiers to keep guard.
Thanks trigpoint tom a favourite point from us

Took a few days to assemble the info and in doing so learned something of some local people. Compass swinging wildly near GZ so took a little while for it to settle but once steady it became an easy find. Thanks trigpoint tom - I have marked this one as a favourite of mine.

5793. found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1145. Decided that today we would head to Albury and surrounds to find a couple of the multis and a mystery or 2 about the district. We started this at 0950 and was side-tracked to find another one only a little bit away nearer to the shopping complex. The tour was most enjoyed with the locations suggested and the things to see and appreciate about the serviceman who gave us our freedom. A favourite from us. SL Tnx trigpoint tom

TFTC. I had started this cache about a week ago as the first two waypoints are just around the corner from where we are staying in Thurgoona. We were in town so Linda could have a haircut and I needed to see a dentist .After Linda got clipped we visited the other waypoints to collect the final numbers to calculate GZ. Nice easy find and cache in good condition.

Find #3 of 5 caches found for the day

Well it was a beautiful sunny Sunday and after a browse of the Albury markets the time was right for a little caching however the loading of the GPS didn't go as planned so only had access to some of the caches through puzzle solving and printing of a few multi's so a very unorganised day which turned out to be a great day all the same.

This was number 3 for a day which saw 5 caches found along with a beginning of something bigger but that is for another night.

After a false start at WP1 the team went away and came back to the same position as was first parked owing to the fact the tecsavy member made an error and not remembering how the driving dircting device worked took the Geomobile to the location of something bigger that required a little less light than was experianced at the time of day that saw it arrive but that will be for another night, returing to the original locaiton after the error mad it was time to exit the Geomobile and have a look at the informaiton wich reveiled the necessary contitions of the task to be completed at the locaiton. Soon progress was made and WP2 was found with information in hand we then progressed to WP3 to see the next informaiton, this required a little bit of searching and after the splitting of the team the information was soon at hand. Back to the Geomobile and off to WP4 with the best views in town obtaind the informaiton again found the final locaiton was to be sought at WP5 we got the remaining pieces of the required imformation which allowed the sums to be applied to reveal that all important GZ lcoation.

Arriving at GZ the cache was soon in hand and the necessary duties carried out on the still Dry and secure Log.

Thanks trigpoint tom for showing us the respect that the Albury city has for the fallen and for this wonderful drive around some of the little used areas of Albury city.

The total count for the day was 5 consisting 3 Multi and 2 Mystery

Grand Cache count = 47 total consisting of 38 Traditionals, 7 Multi and 2 Mystery

Found by Mary & David at 1635. This one took a while given the number of waypoints, traffic and distances involved. However, for those of us with a Service background, and parents and grandparents in both World Wars, it was a must-do cache. We have no hesitation in giving it a favourite point. Stage 3, with its simple memorials and red roses, was particularly striking as a memorial to those who gave their lives so we could enjoy our Australian way of life. Stage 4 was equally impressive, and had amazing views as well. Found the cache at GZ after a brief search. Our thanks to trigpoint tom.

Where do I start? What a fantastic cache! The effort that went into this was much appreciated! What a fantastic way to remember the Men and Women that have fallen for our country. Drove around to all the waypoints last night, gathered the data and called it a night. Today I purchased a Etrex 10 and thought i would try it out! Spot on for the gps. Cache in great condition along with all the waypoints. Thanks trig point Tom, I am continuing to appreciate your caches! A favourite for me!

Out and about on a hot summer day. Decided to drive out and tackle a few multi's near home that I haven't looked at yet.
This was the last for today, and the longest I've done in my short time as a geocacher. I quite enjoyed visiting all the locations around town, and quite a humbling experience to remember those who sacrificed everything for this country.
Thanks for the war tour, and of course the cache Smile

Have been working on finding all the clues for this one over the last couple of days. A very thoughtful and well planned out cache. Much appreciated and indeed a great reminder of what a lot of service men and women have done for this country and the world. A favourite from us.

Realised on Monday that this was the only Thurgoona cache we hadn't found yet so grabbed the numbers we needed early each morning before it hit 40+ degrees! Headed home to work out the final coords in the air conditioning; then it was off to gz before the forecasted 42 degrees hit! With the coords in hand it was a quick find with the geokids and their muggle friend. Thanks soo much for the effort that went in to this interesting multi. SL. Tftc Smile

This was the last for the day as it was the most time consuming. We really enjoy this as we are here on holiday and it gave us a reason to take a tour around albury. Thanks for the effort that went into this one!

A few around the area on the Event Day with Bettyboo3747.
The corrected final for this multi had been sitting in the folder for quite a while now.
With the Event on, we had a chance to try and find it.
Thanks for this extended multi it was very interesting. (Even if it did take us months to complete!)
Thanks, Robmc.

# 2024. Robmc and I were finally able to finish this one today. We had started this on 28th May but made an error somewhere. Not wanting to revisit all the waypoints we approached the CO for a bit of help and the final coordinates sat in our notes awaiting a visit to Albury. We came over after the AWGC Event to put this one to bed. TFTC trigpoint tom.

With all intentions of having a weekend off geocaching and catching up with some work around the house.....we head out to do this one, hmmmm and maybe another. All the waypoints were located with little fuss and the required info was recorded. Some time was spent at the war cemetery reading the head stones. At the final wp we worked out the final coordinates and were lucky enough to have all the correct numbers allowing us to locate GZ and find the cache.

We started this cache a little while ago but could not finish it. The war cemetery we have driven past many times but never stopped to have a look. We spent time looking around very poignant. Finally today it such a beautiful day I decided to walk the dog and headed towards monument. We have been up to monument many times, not only for the amazing views and exercise but for the yearly walk up for the dawn service. We wandered around looking for the relevant information. It is a special place and makes you really grateful for what you have.

We walked back home and waited for Mr V to come home to finish the cache off. It wasnt long before the cache was located and we stood there reflecting on our journey. Thanks trigpoint tom for this special experience.

Lest we forget.

#2660 We had quite a bit on today and tried to fit this cache in between it all. We commenced it prior to rendezvousing with another caching team to provide them with some essential equipment in order for them to complete another cache. We managed to gather the necessary information at 2 locations prior to this, then after a leisurely 4klm stroll, we headed to back out to hopefully finalise this journey. We enjoyed our wander and the history behind this poignant cache. Our one and only cache for the day - thanks Trigpoint Tom for history and tour. Cheers

This was a bit of an unexpected find for me today. I received an invite from the H HQ to come and have a look at the "new" caching love bus which eventually roared to life but still had a few issues.
Big Ez made the suggestion for myself and Mrs H along with the Little and Micro Ez to go finish off the multi they had started earlier in the day while the problem was sorted.
Ok, so I missed the first 1 / 2 waypoints but picked up the trail at the War cemetery. The 3 wpts and Gz I did do I enjoyed, and I guess ANZAC day not long been made the cache and wpts a bit more sombreing and significant than what it would have been on any other regular cache run.
Micro Ez (2yo) seemed to be a bit put out that Gz wasn't where he wanted it to be, seems he was keen for a long hunt but that wasn't the case.

A great themed cache that points our some of the places that remind us of the horrors of conflict and the consequence. So many at such a young age , Lest We Forget.

TNLN, SL @ 1630. Cheers.

Whoop Whoop *FTF* with DazRascal @ 4:30pm.

Well, what a day!
We had started this off at about 11am, and had only got 2 waypoints done before Big Ez got a call out & had to go be Superman and rescue a baby who had accidently been locked in a car - but thats a whole other story with a very happy ending! Smile

Tinkering on the new VW camper Big Ez suggested we head off and finish the multi as it was still unlogged.
So DazRascal & Mrs H loaded up the GeoKids and made our way through the final waypoints.
We had plenty of help from Little Ez spotting the required plaques.

Although we've been to some of the areas before, we both really enjoyed all the places you have taken us too, especially the Albury War Cemetery, such a deserving place to be highlighted, and glad you have done so.

Many thanks for your efforts in placing this multi Trigpoint Tom.
A big thank-you to Grace for all the help selecting the plaques too.
A nicely themed cache and a favorite from us.
Cheers!
