WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 73 - Westonia to Koorda via Mukinbudin and Bencubbin. The roads were quiet and the rain held off till the afternoon. I managed to do some labs in Mukinbudin. Once I was set up in Koorda, I pulled out the eScooter and did a lap of town for the local caches before heading down to the pub on foot for dinner. It rained all nigh but was quite a bit warmer than the last two days. More travel to the west tomorrow..After setting up I jumped on the eScooter and started my town caches for the afternoon. I was really happy for the hint, but with only a small area of truck to search, it still took quite a bit of finding. I was happy when my fingers tripped over it and I could sign the log. Thanks for the cache Zodiakhorizon48386.22 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2017 OZ Mega Alice Springs A#358**Albida**

Headed out super early to pick up a pile of caches that had come out since we were last up this way. Visited some very interesting locations along the way and all caches were found with a few tricky ones that took a bit of searching. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches.
I'm not really a fan of these kind of nanos in old machinery because I usually never find them. This time was luckily different. Don't need to think too complicated, tftc!
The MICKS team - Meme28 I C Nothing, Cirrus_Wa, Kapelula and Sir Fancy are hitting the road again this time to Merredin. We are ready for a great weekend of laughs and hunting down some caches that are on our hit list including some LGA finds.

We are visiting Koorda to go to the outdoor drive in tonight. What a great initiative for this tidy little town.
Movies were great but unfortunately our hunt for this cache wasn’t so great.
Had to admit defeat this time and save it up for another tilt at it in the future.

Found on a trip to the west from South Australia.
I’ve spent a month so far on the road, catching up with friends and relatives, visiting old haunts from when I used to live here and discovering a few new places, and finding caches of interest along the way. My travels on this trip have mostly centred on the southern, central and northern wheatbelt and a little bit beyond. Starting to make my way south and east now as I head towards home.
I don’t usually spend a lot of time on these sorts of hides, but I got lucky here and found it quite quickly.
Thanks Zodiakhorizon for the cache.

On a road trip around the wheatbelt areas of Western Australia for a few weeks. We are enjoying the many friendly towns along the way, whether staying in the CP’s or camping out. So far, we have found every cache that we have looked for, and hopefully our streak will last as we move around to the next town and beyond. Thank you so much to the CO’s of every cache for placing them for our enjoyment. They certainly bring you to many spots that you might not stop at otherwise.
Took a bit of a search, then fingers felt it.

Staying at Koorda Hotel for the night. Took some working out but got there in the end tftc
Found it. TFTC. This was like a nano on an RSL gun. Even with the hint. Replaced as found
Destination Minnivale and what has become a tradition of sorts... BYO Marshmallows number V. Some fun with friends around a camp fire sharing some drinks, some hint, some tall stories and plenty of laughs.
Day two off with 3 car out on the road picking up caches here and there.
I'm with Kyzabra, the fitzys, Granett, Cirrus_WA, SVKR and sir fancy
The plan today is loose, no real plan just Caching with mates.

Out in the Wheatbelt again for the second consecutive weekend. This weekend the plan was to attack a number of towns in the North Eastern Wheatbelt and attend the FOTT event in Minnivale. It was a terrific weekend. Thank you to all the COs involved in providing entertainment this weekend.
Very lucky to find it immediately. A nano on machinery is usually difficult. Cheers Zodiakhorizon!

Woke up bright and early and had a slow morning around the campsite.
Had a bit of chat about plans for the day and joined up with SirFancy, Kyzabra, AlliedOz, Granett, SVKR_WA & Fitzys.
Started off heading into Dowerin before making our way across to Wyalkatchem.
We turned north towards Koorda so I was able to tick off a new LGA. After stopping in town for lunch we made our way back to camp and waited for everyone else to arrive for a fantastic marshmallow event.
Had a ball out and about today with 26 finds.

Geology rocks but Geography is where it’s at!
Probsty and I hatched a plan to knock off the northern wheat belt LGA’s after signing the Regional Cacher Challenge in Kulin. Not a bad effort, with 1000kms of driving on a cool winter’s day.
The log book was full. Put a brand new one in.
Get down low and go, go, go

Hi Zodiakhorizon, found “Koorda Bedford!” today on the way out to get some wheatbelt LGA caches with Morgo. Decided it was time to knock off the northern wheatbelt LGAs after signing a wheatbelt challenge cache in Kulin last weekend. Planned a 1000km round trip for 13 LGAs today!

Find 9 of 19 on day 4 of our road trip, today transitioning from the rocky goldfields of Mount Magnet through the wheatbelt, finishing in Mukinbudin.
Took in all the Koorda LGA caches on a 2km walk around town. Our first stop here and luckily a quick find.

Love this old truck. Imagine the stories it could tell. Took a few longer minutes to find cache but enjoyed my time here. TFTC
Took a little while to find this pesky nano, eventually having to paf for a clue. Turned out to be somewhere we had already looked, but obviously not thorough enough. Enjoyed having a look around the collection. Very impressed by the local IGA who were keen to serve us even though they should have closed 45 mins before. What a very accomodating community. TFTC
Made it to Koorda from Cadoux with just 17 lts diesel left in the tank - phew. Another win was getting this ‘monkey off our back’ after a dnf several years ago.
Ok ok this was Me&B's 2nd contortion for the day. Took longer than we would have liked and proved we should have taken heed of the hint
Road-trippin' through the Wheatbelt, Koorda was the next stop for us... Jase made the relatively quick find here, much to the kids disappointment! They would have loved spending hours here looking at all the old stuff

Out and about in the Central Wheatbelt area this weekend on a mission to grab some missing LGA's. After 1200 odd K's, 43 finds, a few DNF's and two nights under the stars, it was mission accomplished.
Surprised to come up with a reasonably quick find here after performing the mechanic maneuver.
Zodiakhorizon I found your cache at 10:57am, this was the 11th of 21 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5886. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Found while visiting from Canberra. My mother lived on a nearby farm in the 1930s and my uncle was born at the hospital. TFTC
At last I found one of those pesky little nanos all by myself , passing through on our way home after about 13.000kms
We headed out into the country to get away from the weather and collect a few smilies, an 800km return trip which took us to some beautiful and amazing places, happy to say we came up trumps here after a short search and drove away with a smilie TFTC
A methodical search unearthed this fairly quickly.
On a little road trip gathering some LGAs.
TFTC Zodiakhorizon & Blondie this is find # 6906 for us.

Filling in some missing LGAs today. Not fond of sticking my fingers where I can’t see them. So I happy to find this one thanks to the great hint
Our nano luck had run out by the time we got to the Bedford. Flies were horrendous. Basically just over getting grimy and dusty searching. Another time. Thanks ZH
Day 128 of our 366 day straight challenge. In Koorda with BradyBunch18 for the show... and geocaches of course!
Found rather quickly with a systematic search and a good hint. Unfortunately this is when we realised we left our pen at the caravan park. With 3 small geokids in tow we opted to take photos rather than walk back. TFTC

We had a free day and the weather was perfect so decided on a short caching trip to Koorda. Thanks for the cache Zodiakhorizone we had fun looking for it.
Out to see a movie. Arrived early so just doing some caching. 2nd for the day with Shauni.
Good Friday sees me heading into the northern wheatbelt to clear out a few caches and cross off another 5 LGAs.
Headed out early and headed for Goomalling for the first stop. Then headed further north.
Thanks for the hint. Could have been a much longer hunt without it.
Zodiakhorizon SVKR_WA found your cache on 30 Mar 2018 at 15:06:05.

With a new GC.com challenge recently published that required the jinta team to find caches in another 21 Western Australia counties, we decided it was time for a big road trip day. Mrs jinta and I packed up the car and headed away from home at about 4.30am with our sights set on a 800+ kilometre round trip going through Cunderdin, Tammin, Kellerberrin, Trayning, Kununoppin, Nungarin, Mukinbudin, Bencubbin, Koorda, Cadoux and then home through Goomalling. It was a fantastic day and we spent about 14 and a half hours tripping around grabbing both GC and GCA caches.
A big shout out to all the CO's whose caches we found, the Wheatbelt was once again a fantastic place to visit and the weather was on our side with the temps maxing out at only 38 degrees.
A quick find here, thanks for the hint

Out for a day in this nice area.
Nice quick find with the hint thankfully.
Thanks for the smiley ZH&B

Day 15 of our Adventure to the northern Goldfields and now in the Wheatbelt. After a quiet night on the farm at Wyalkatchem, we are exploring the surrounding towns. Although not fond of nanos on machines, megawat60 made a quick find here. TFTC ZH!
I never have much success on these types of hides but today I got lucky and spotted the little blighter after about 5 mins of searching.

Mentioned to muggle the other day that I needed three more LGAs to reach 90 to complete a challenge so he devised a route for us to go so I could get a few more. I added to the route so after 1350km in total and 36hrs return trip back home to Bunbury I got 16 LGAs all up which I'm happy with and 35 cache finds
Yesterdays travel was Bunbury to Pingelly, Quairading, Bruce Rock, Narembeen, Merredin, Carrabin, Moorine Rock and back to Merredin to recouperate
After getting back into town after caching last night at 9.50pm and a not so comfy sleep in one of the local motels it was up and earlyish start for the morning as today is Nungarin, Kununoppin, Mukinbudin, Welbungin, Bencubbin, Koorda, Trayning (an extra I added at the last moment), Wyalkatchem, Dowerin, Goomalling, Northam, Greenmount and back to Bunbury
Can't wait to travel todays towns again but next time spend some time looking around the towns and going to the museums
Our first one in Koorda and I thought 'Oh no.' Muggle and I stuck to the front and looked under but no then went to the side and no again so I did the only thing I could do for the second time today.
I got under and still couldn't see it but I let my fingers do the walking and I found it, yayyyyy

Acted like mechanics, searched like kids, looked a bit ridiculous so it was lucky Koorda was home or away for this blustery Sunday Afternoon. Tried bumping the magnet, all to no avail. Coffee pot had fun anyway - we are sure it was laughing at us....
Having a planned wknd away with kyzabra and krabiboy we left perth bright and early at 4.30, this was to be a big first day of finds and klms. Getting towards the end of the day and keen to get somewhere near Bencubbin to camp this was a good quick grab. Third super quick grab in a row. Tftc
Today was a huge day. 14 hours, 625km, and 27 finds.
This trip out had been a long time in the planning.
Krabiboy and I had hatched a plan and probably changed it about 10 times. dallyho joined us, final plans were set, and off we went
Our third quick nano. We were on a roll here. So happy to find them quickly.
Zodiakhorizon Blondie - Kyzabra found your cache Koorda Bedford! . The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Kyzabra and I have had our eyes on this part of the Wheatbelt for a few months. We were joined by Dallyho and today was the day to head out and make a weekend of it.
We left at 4.30am on Friday and headed off to the northern wheatbelt.
We covered over 600km today, clocking up 29 finds, including 5 archived caches.
Nice quick one here after the two others couldn't find it.

Didn't take long for this one thanks for hint or we'd be here all day! NOT! TFTC. SL.
Started raining as we pulled up so we read the hint and found the cache in short time and only got slightly wet. Nothing is opened this weekend which for caching can be good but for touristy things not so good.
Jumped back in the car and decided to head further east.
Thanks for the cache

TFTC! Found on a day trip to the Wheatbelt to grab a bunch of caches and enjoy the countryside. At a quick look; around 12hrs driving for 900km, 29 finds, couple of DNFs.
Was a great day out, attended wyalcatchems first geocaching event, found a bunch of archived caches that were still in place and mostly in good condition. Saw some wonderful sights (see pics in logs). Thanks to all the COs.
Tin was hot but a quick find after trying to look like a mechanic

Took a while, it was obvious really, but once we read previous logs and I (not mum obviously) bumped my head a few times we found it
After going to the local IGA for stores, we came here (same street). A quick search after reading the hint came up trumps. SL. Thanks for the cache.
