On a road trip around the wheatbelt areas of Western Australia for a few weeks. We are enjoying the many friendly towns along the way, whether staying in the CP’s or camping out. So far, we have found every cache that we have looked for, and hopefully our streak will last as we move around to the next town and beyond. Thank you so much to the CO’s of every cache for placing them for our enjoyment. They certainly bring you to many spots that you might not stop at otherwise.
Well, after 250 finds in a row, this one broke the find streak. We went over it twice with a fine tooth comb, but no luck for us today. It looks as though the machine has had a recent repaint, however, it could still be there….we are just not seeing it.

I hate this style of hide. Just got frustrated. Another time.

Eventually spotted this one right in from of my nose.

On a camping trip with a pile of like minded geocachers. We headed out today for a run around the area. Tagging along was Granett, Kyzabra, AlliedOz, Sit Fancy, Cirrus, and The Fitzys.
As usual when we get together, a fun time is had with much banter and laughs.

Zodiakhorizon SVKR_WA is happy to have found your cache Wylie Warfare today at 10:40:20 9 Oct 2021. This brings my find count to 5018

Zodiakhorizon - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. We love travelling and visiting some places that we would only visit due to this game.

Destination Minnivale and what has become a tradition of sorts... BYO Marshmallows number V. Some fun with friends around a camp fire sharing some drinks, some hint, some tall stories and plenty of laughs.

Day two off with 3 car out on the road picking up caches here and there.
I'm with Kyzabra, the fitzys, Granett, Cirrus_WA, SVKR and sir fancy

The plan today is loose, no real plan just Caching with mates.

Qickish find

Took a bit off looking but eventually found it. Thanks for the hide.

Spent last night in minivale and decided to head out today with Allied_OZ, Granett and SVKR_WA and The Fitzys for a day grabbing some nearby caches. Plan initially was Dowerin, then Wyalkatchem then wherever. Sir Fancy and Cirrus_WA joined us for the morning as well.

Many thanks to Zodiakhorizon for placing and maintaining Wylie Warfare. I was here at 10:40 am on Saturday and this is my find 9653.

Thank you Zodiakhorizon for placing and maintaining this cache.

I’m sure it was an odd site for any passers by all of us searching the structure for the cache. Turns out it was much simpler than we were making it and we got back on the road heading north.
• • • • •

Woke up bright and early and had a slow morning around the campsite.
Had a bit of chat about plans for the day and joined up with SirFancy, Kyzabra, AlliedOz, Granett, SVKR_WA & Fitzys.
Started off heading into Dowerin before making our way across to Wyalkatchem.
We turned north towards Koorda so I was able to tick off a new LGA. After stopping in town for lunch we made our way back to camp and waited for everyone else to arrive for a fantastic marshmallow event.
Had a ball out and about today with 26 finds.

Thanks Zodiakhorizon for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 3378 for me.

After camping overnight in Minnivale ahead of tonight's Marshmallow event [GC9G5TP](https://coord.info/GC9G5TP) we headed out in a convoy of three cars to pick up a few smileys about the place.

SVKR_WA eventually came up with the goods on this one.

Zodiakhorizon I found your cache at 10:41am, this was the 13th of 18 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 7100. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

A day caching in Northam, Meckering, Cunderdin, Tammin, Kellerberrin and Merredin, before heading around through Nungarin, Kununuppin, Trayning, Yelbeni and Wyalkatchem to the event in Minnivale. Weather was glorious and it was a DNF free day. Caching at its best. Thanks for your contribution to a great day.

Out and about in the Wheatbelt racking up the km on the car.

Found the cache quickly, which was relieving. A nano on a gun is usually not great! Log was full so I have replaced it for the CO. Cheers Zodiakhorizon! Big Grin

This weekend has been some time in the planning and we were heading up this way to drive the Wheatbelt Way Trail and collect geocaches along the route. We also had GCA caches, Waymarks and Sighters on the radar which should break up the trip nicely. We had no set plans for accommodation and we decided that we would see where we ended up each day to set up camp. This cache was one that we targeted on our mini adventure. Cheers and TFTC.

G’day there Zodiakhorizon & Blondie, I was in this area today and found your cache Wylie Warfare GC3HBJB. I added my name to the log book at 10:47 am on 28 September 2019. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

23-May-19
Hi there Zodiakhorizon.

We found your cache **"Wylie Warfare"** at 10:47:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 22330).

We are heading from SA to WAGB in Northam & we stopped off in Dowering on the way through. Now that we've settled in a nearby caravan park we have taken the opportunity to head out and find some of the caches we had couldn't have done with a caravan in tow.

We found 10 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.

Normally we don't attempt nano caches, as we believe that their usage has become far too common these days, and many are placed in spots (such as this) where a decent container could have been hidden. It's really sad that hardly anyone attempts to place large, kid friendly caches any more. [?] Sad

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Oh no not a nano on a gun. Luckily for me it didn’t take too long to find as I happened to put my hand in the right place. My daughter enjoyed playing in the park across from the cache. We enjoyed walking through such a well maintained little town it is a credit to the town gardener and the community.

Dread as we approached this object. Not a very successful record finding weenies on these. Time was short as well so search was frantic but got there in the end. TFTC in such a nice location.

Day 71 of our 366 day straight challenge. In Wylie with the fam for a weekend away and caching while here!

Well it’s now day 14 of our Northern adventure , now more Eastern adventure as we head south of the Great Eastern Hwy with m4yb, Jonathan the camper trailer and Max the GeoUte.

Nice easy find for a bloody nano on a gun!

Thanks for the smiley ZH&B

Day 14 of our Adventure to the northern Goldfields and now in the Wheatbelt. Moving from Bruce Rock to Wyalkatchem toady, via Quairading and Tammin.

Unable to retrieve cache from the hole its in but TFTC.

25-Aug-17
A very confusing cache this one, from reading logs it would seem like the cache i found was lost down a deep hole and replaced by ILT, but the cache was signed by them in 2015 and the first to log the log was 2012!! So it wasn't replaced and i found the original??
Then it seems it was replaced by a mint tin!! but I found the original nano! so what was replaced??

If you cant find this cache don't assume it is gone, It is well hidden and cannot be seen... you need to use your fingers to find it and the clue is very accurate

Thanks ZH&B an exhilarating find for sure Big Grin

12-Aug-17
Avoiding the rain in Perth we headed out for a day trip around the wheatbelt, finding a few caches along the way... Oh no, not another gun! Thankfully this one wasn't to big, but it still took sometime to locate the cache! Big Grin We were a little confused as the last one to sign it was ILT back in 2015... Now reading back in the logs it all makes sense Wink So not sure about the caches that have been put on there since, but we found the original one Cool

Well try again soon but maybe with some friends!!!

Mentioned to muggle the other day that I needed three more LGAs to reach 90 to complete a challenge so he devised a route for us to go so I could get a few more. I added to the route so after 1350km in total and 36hrs return trip back home to Bunbury I got 16 LGAs all up which I'm happy with and 35 cache finds Big Grin

Yesterdays travel was Bunbury to Pingelly, Quairading, Bruce Rock, Narembeen, Merredin, Carrabin, Moorine Rock and back to Merredin to recouperate Smile

After getting back into town after caching last night at 9.50pm and a not so comfy sleep in one of the local motels it was up and earlyish start for the morning as today is Nungarin, Kununoppin, Mukinbudin, Welbungin, Bencubbin, Koorda, Trayning (an extra I added at the last moment), Wyalkatchem, Dowerin, Goomalling, Northam, Greenmount and back to Bunbury Big Grin
Can't wait to travel todays towns again but next time spend some time looking around the towns and going to the museums Smile

Well the hint was no good for me but muggle knew what it went so I visually searched while he let his fingers do the walking which was good as he found the nano (but we didn't find Barnzy's mint tin).
I did signing duties then it was time to find some shade somewhere for lunch

TFTC Big Grin

Headed back up to Geraldton for another caching run (third time this year). We started off by picking up as many caches as we could in the wheatbelt on the first day before arriving in Geraldton. The next day we headed up to port Gregory and Kalbarri and the highlight of the day would have to be be the pink lakes in port Gregory. Day 3 saw us caching in Geraldton picking up some we missed last time and clearing up a few of our DNFS here before adding some more DNFS to the list. Day 4 we headed off to mount magnet picking up some caches along the way till we arrived there. I must say the caches in mount magnet were quite tricky to find and it was also a stinking hot day so we didn't get to find all the caches we were hoping to find there. The last day we cached along the coast on the way home. Once again it was stinking hot and we missed doing a lot of the caches we hoped to find plus the flies were driving us crazy but we still got to visit some great places. Most of the caches we looked for we did find and we came across some very sneaky well made cache containers along the way. Thanks to all the CO,s for placing there caches for us and all the other geocachers to find.

Though the restoration is not faithful to the original !!

and surprisingly free of spider webs,
I poked this thing that once went BANG for quite a while.

TFTC! Found on a day trip to the Wheatbelt to grab a bunch of caches and enjoy the countryside. At a quick look; around 12hrs driving for 900km, 29 finds, couple of DNFs.

Was a great day out, attended wyalcatchems first geocaching event, found a bunch of archived caches that were still in place and mostly in good condition. Saw some wonderful sights (see pics in logs). Thanks to all the COs.

Replaced cache now a mint tin.

This item has an allover brand new coat of paint, so I am wondering if the cache is gone. Might need checking!

14-Jan-16
Stopped here while doing other Wylie caches. Looked all over. No luck. This item has a brand new coat of paint, will call for a Needs Maintenance as I am wondering it it has been cleaned up, added to the fact that a much better cacher than me also DNF'd it!

Couldn't see any nano so DNF for me TwistedTwisted. Thanks

26-Sep-15
First find for us in Wyalkatchem and a quick one at that - but that's what happens when you use mirrors (because we're not game enough to put our hands or fingers where we can't see). SL. Thanks for the cache.

20-Sep-15
Finally found it on my third attempt at this one!! I had to face my fear of sticking my hands/fingers in places I can't see to find it though! Good hide and can finally cross it off the list!!! TFTC

We climbed all over it for a while but eventually spied it from a distance. No need to climb under but kneeling let us see it.
Not sure of the clue. .. "Load" would be better.

I'm heading farther north on Monday on my annual pilgrimage to the sun so I thought I'd clean up a couple of GC's that have eluded me previously. This one had me stumped originally. I spent a good 30 minutes in 40degC heat with hordes of flies and couldn't find it. Today it was much cooler with a nice breeze to keep the flies away and my new "systematic" search method, combined with a good hint from the previous log by Zodiakhorizon and I had it in hand in 2 minutes. Second day of my loop through the wheatbelt. Couldn't find this one. I hate nano's especially on machinery.

25-Jan-15
A quick find on a long weekend out and about through the orchard country and Wheatbelt. Thanks for this spot, would look lovely in spring time. TFTC

14-Jan-15
We found the cache after searching for a while in the intense heat. Unfortunately, in our haste to get back to the comfort of our air conditioned vehicle, we dropped the nano down a deep hole. We tried everything but could not retrieve it, so we have replaced the lost nano with another.
Yes, we did sign the log, but If the CO has any questions, please feel free to contact us.

27-Dec-14
Gave it the obligatory five minutes but with the sun beating down 35 deg, we could feel the heat radiating off the metal. We were only half way to where we needed to be today so we'll be returning in cooler weather. Thanks ZH.

Found with assistance. Red Face
There was a family group having a good look at the gun when we pulled up to this park. In fact they were really, really interested in it. We guessed what they were up to and flashed our GPS on our approach. (Bit like having a secret handshake) Fortunately they had found the cache and even better for us, were prepared to show us where it was. Big GrinBig Grin After a short chat and time to get the grease off our hands, we went our separate ways. TFTC.

Spent a good 15 minutes going over this one...with no luck! Muggles were around and came over to us - we just acted really interested in the canon and we even got a full run down on the pioneer park! Will come back for another look one day....

01-Oct-13
No luck today but I might be able to come back another time with a 'good looking' friend Smile Kudos to the lady who laid down on the rocks to look. They didn't look too comfy

28-Sep-13
Add our names to the DNF list, we searched high and low (Mrs Blingg actually lay on her back under it ), but it eluded us

23-Aug-13
If I could remember exactly where this was hidden on said 'location' I would add a hint. Maybe the next finder could email me where it was hidden.

That said, and don't hold me to it, I believe around the start of the barrel (not the firing end) would be a good place to search!

14-Aug-13
A bit of a look about but couldn't see anything it the time we were prepared to spend there.

On a weekend Camping trip, heading East to the Goldfields with the Felix duo, hoping to fill in some gaps on the "The Well-Travelled and Aged Cacher Challenge". (GC3TR3M).

Ended up traveling over 1500Km over three days, so a fantastic road trip.

Fortunately this piece of kit was much smaller so with three people searching we soon
uncovered the Nano.

TFTC.

Still bimbling around out in the Wheatbelt with The Machman.

We had just made an unscheduled diversion out to Bencubbin and Koorda so returning to Wylie before heading homewards.

It was at this cache that MM realised he had misplaced his keys and pen so we backtracked to Wyalkatchem Harvester and thankfully they were there. Was going to be a long way back to Bencubbin if they werent here.

Nice little park and memorial seems well maintained.
