Like those before us, a DNF. Last found 5 months ago!
It was a lovely Tasmanian winter’s day, just right for a caching stroll with AlbyDangles, Lil Rafa and geoDog, and the younger ep with me. We started at Ferntree, via Silver Falls, down to Neika, then a bit further and finished back at Neika. About 19 finds for the day, and a couple of DNFs thrown in for variety! A great time with excellent company.

OldSaint thank you for the cache. and the advice one where to look but as you know it's gone.
EeePees, Lil Rafa and I had a great time caching along the pipe line track.
This was our first find DNF for the day.
DNF at 9:34:00 AM

The geopup and I headed off on the PTPT today in the company of EeePees and AlbyDangles. Lots of fun was had and we were treated to a lovely sunny winter's day. This one was a DNF, but this was just the start of our expedition.
Nice area to walk in today. Cache found easily with the hint. Thanks for the cache Old Saint.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
Oh dear we are really getting slack. Took all morning to make a decision of where we were going caching today. Finally a decision was made that Mr Felix would try to complete the PTPT trail and Mrs Felix would go shopping
Well TomTom took us the long way and it was after 1pm before Mr Felix was on his bike!
Several DNF's today but not too hot not too cold made the cycling fun. Only took about 2 hours to do this section.

TFTC came down from Launceston with son & bikes in car - ready for an assault on the PTPT series. Was surprised how many other people were cycling/running/ walking along track. Of course we ran out of time but completed 8 and had a few DNFs. Now to find time to come back and do the rest of the trail. Thanks for putting this cache along this track we had a great day.

After having the PTPT included on our "to do" list for long enough that it's chiselled in stone, we targetted the Ferntree - Neika section today. We were now clued up to the bouncy GPS readings, though here they did put us w-a-y down to the south of the track (& one of us dutifully clambered down ignoring the T1.5 indicator. Found some interesting old walls & a tap on the pipe but no cache. Strangely, in our 21 finds to 3 DNF's today (a rather poor hit rate we agree), two of those DNF's were sainted hides. Perhaps we've annoyed the angels!
Today I caught a bus to the Fern Tree tavern stop, arriving at 10:42am. I walked the pipeline trail plus a few other finds for a total of 52 caches for the day. I had a spare 20 minutes before the final bus of the day home at 5:52pm but couldn't even move to log a cache only 200m from where I was standing. I hadn't sat down all day and I was completely deprived of energy. I walked 27km today between 10:45am and 5:30pm, consumed 1L of water and ate the muesli bars I had with me. It was shorts and tshirt weather the entire day and the scenery was stunning. I was totally over finding the tiny plastic tubes after the first couple and appreciated the variety of caches towards the end of the trail. Unfortunately I ran out of time to get the final 2 caches on the track up to the falls but I am completed satisfied with my day. Although I suspect I will be unable to move tomorrow, I am extremely grateful for your contribution to the trail. Thank you for this hide.
Decided to grab a few caches in the vicinity of Silver Falls with Rilestar this afternoon, and this was one of them.
Once the GPS settled a little bit, and we employed a bit of cache-sense, we found it. It helps to look on the correct side of the track. TFTC.

An easy find despite the small size, but the logsheet is somewhat damp now - a replacement is needed before it becomes sodden !
Thanks for the cache, OldSaint !
Thanks for the cache, OldSaint !
The Knight Rider found this cache quickly, in a spot where Knight #4 hadn't looked. TFTC
Today 3 of the Knights + geo-dog went for a short walk at the start of the Pipeline Track.

We saw a couple of ladies and their kids looking for this one on our way back from the falls. I hope they found it.
Found two likely pairs of ferns but no rock and no cache. Extended the search (without clambering down) but no luck. Must be the equipment!! TFTC. Angus the great GeoWestie assisted by grey nomad Carer Lis Brown en route from Bundaberg Qld to Perth WA via all of Tasmania.
Found this cache several weeks ago but forgot to log. Productive day of cache finding along pipeline track. Thanks from team Mattie
Cache found quickly, thank you for this hike Return will be done in the rain Haha
Stiff competition to find this one, with a chocolate on offer for the first. After a bit of pushing and shoving, the eldest got in first, as usual. With Mkdl from Melb TFTC Old Saint!
Out caching with little.family and thought we would get rid of some excess geokids energy and do the track. Needed the hint but found this one relatively quickly. TFTC
On the way up the track I thought I was cursed this was the third in a row I couldn't find. I got it on the return.
Another mild winter's day had us back on the mountain and this end of the PTPT trail. TFTC
Beautiful cold day, great enjoyed stroll on the easy pathway for PTPT series as long long way walked return for six hours.. Easy to find very well thanks Smile
Love those containers, good heavy duty and waterproof! Lots of muggles so into stealth mode with geoson Rexamite. TFTC
Found with geodad tiltonspire. Also I found with my new etrex H.
Completely missed this one so had to do it on the way back.

Another beautiful day. Thanks for the chat while we walked and the help with the Post Office
Today was the day to find some of the PTPT caches between Ferntree and Neika (starting at Ferntree). The day was relatively hot and few Muggles were about. This cache was quickly found. Thanks OldSaint.
Didnt find it beacaue of all the muggles. We found the bank where all the ferns are.
Lots and lots of muggles as we reached GZ but luckily all was quiet when the search started. After a couple of false attempts a reread of the description brought success. TFTC OldSaint
On this occasion it was the Pipeline from Neika to Ferntree. Our intention was go the reverse way but, with a bushfire meeting for locals, there was no parking left. However this turned out for the best because we stopped at the Wildside Café at Fern Tree for lunch before making the return walk.

Off for a Sunday afternoon ride with the HotCrossChild with the aim of collecting a few more PTPT caches. This was our "half way to St Crispin's Well" point and we were due to turn around here. After making things much too complicated than we needed to, this was an easy one! Thanks, OldSaint.
My GPSr was not having a good day today. I thought that I'd be able to find a few of the caches at the Fern Tree end of the PTPT without much fuss. But no! This was the only success this morning, and it was found only with the help of the clue. The readings were all over the place for this cache and for three others. But I'll be back (with a little more time to search and let the Magellan settle down). TFTC, Old Saint.
Day 3 of our escape from the NT trip, seeking some relief from the tropical build up
Loving the cool weather and ferns along here, all the sorts of things we are missing up North.

It's funny how with these PTPT caches, one will be a DNF or take ages for one person and a quick find for someone else. This one was pretty much the former for me. GPS wouldn't settle and couldn't see the correct item to match the hint, so left it and came back to it on the way back. By that time I'd figured out which was Old Saints RHS and it all seemed logical and found it in the first place I looked. Pretty little fern glade. Thanks Old Saint.
Now that there were a few caches in this section of the Pipeline Track, we decided to wander into the area. It was a pleasant and enjoyable walk along the track - the variety of vegetation always surprises us and we enjoy learning more about the early days of Hobart's water supply. Once near GZ we found that our GPS was quite erratic. So we resorted to a systemmatic search on the correct side of the track and after a short time, the cache was in hand. Thanks for another cache in this lovely area OldSaint.
Number 3 for two of us the Old Saint would'nt take part in search for this one Wilco! and I had to do all the hard work. TFTC Old Saint!!!!!
My GPS was still saying 60m off at this cache, luckily however the cache owner was around to ensure that we looked in the correct area.
Once at GZ it was a quick find as soon as the muggle had gone past. Very nice standing there listening to the sound of the water running down the creek, very peaceful. Thanks for the cache
This cache was easier than the others except for the one muggle walker that managed to turn up right as we were about to dive in and grab the cache.
Found and logged and moved on. Thanks for the cache

It was nearing the end of our day on the Pipeline Track and the light was growing dim, so fortunately this was our last cache for the day. It took a little hunting down, but not too long, then we turned our heads for home! Should we have put a cache at the end of this group? We weren't sure as we had already placed one at the endof the other group of PTPT caches, so we didn't. TFTC
Found on my way back to Fern Tree after trip down memory lane to the Wishing Well and Silver Falls. I resorted to the hint I have to confess, as the GPSr was being a bit erratic (and I'd go with 1.5 not 2!!!). This is a lovely spot ... and won't it be fun when the two ends of the PTPT join up! Thanks, OldSaint.
(Forgot to log this cache after find!) Although it was a rainy day, we wanted to get the geokids out for some fresh air. With rain jackets on and warm beanies on their heads we took a stroll along the track. The weather got a lot more windy and rainy as we went along, so we were happy to log this cache and sit under the nearby shelter for a snack and rest for little legs. Thanks OldSaint
Found on a Caching/Holiday/Event attendance in Hobart with mates. Continuing Along the track SL..TFTC
After Rocky Mountain, I headed up to this peaceful spot.
For a while, I thought I was going to have to go down the slope, but eventually common sense took over and I looked in the right spot.
Several people had been here already today.
Then it was off to find some frogs.
Thanks, OldSaint.

Found with whitewebbs on a great day for walking the PTPT series. Have now completed the series as it stands. Thanks OldSaint for the cache.
After starting the search in a couple of wrong places we eventually got on the right track. When we got to gz my geo nephew helped me locate the cache. Easy find
Well I thought about this one larst night but knew the odds where on my side. So I found myself a nice parking spot in the dark and with pockets full started up the trail. Was surprised and interest I start spotting huts and tables and chairs before the trail opened up to a jounction. Headed towards GZ with GPS jumping a little with the tree cover and or half battery power. I was still able to locate the cache easily.
Not much bets an early morning FTF hunt and the sunrises I have been able to watch each weekend morning while out caching still take my breath away. As the sky changed from Red to Orange and creams the mist/fog rolled in a little between the hills to put on the light show again.
JABs.

Found this cache today, to fill in a gap in my calender and some time waiting for a fellow cacher.
I think I dated the log the 23rd, but certainly was there today

Nice to do this end of the trail. Spot on coords. TFTC OldSaint. Found while caching with Tassie Trekkers.
