Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 13: The sun finally decided to come to the party, which made for a beautiful day for exploring the greater Dunedin area.GT37 managed to find an old container and a couple of geocaching related pieces of paper. So we signed and logged the back of them under a couple of other signatures. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, stegan tn koe~~
Nope, spent some time looking, but no joy. Abandoned eventually as we were soaking and freezing and still some distance from the car. Disappointing, as we were visiting from Auckland and Wellington and the cache does not appear to have been maintained.
I solved this a couple of weeks ago knowing it should be close to where we are staying for Mega. Last night I forced maplerosenz to solve it, and today we braved the weather to look for it. The gps jumped a bit, but we had no luck finding the final and not wanting to fall or slide down the bank we had to give up.
Had the final co'ods sitting around for this one for awhile after solving the wonky puzzle. Cacheri had cleaned up the muggled cache popping in a jar with tatty dry glad bags and the remaining sistema lid. Replacement log paper got signed sitting with the 2 putty logbooks. Reg mini keeping things dry and free of sand. Spent rest of spare time wondering around the trees and bush bashed up to the gate. Plenty of peeps assault the wind break from both sides chucking their empties, including lazy mommy brat diapers, eeww I'm not touch that and they don't compose. 2 favs, no watchers. ***5th** Wheel challenge Sept **Teamwork 36th** Mystery 25pt **950pt***. I enjoyed puzzling this one out and collecting it. The cache is dry and secure - should last a few more years yet. No problem finding it. TFTC
Cache 1134 solved this one a while ago and decided being as I was in the area I might as well swing by and grab the final, parked up and had a huge struggle trying to find the cache, just about gave up but decided to read back through logs and found a hint on how to get to where the cache was! And from there it was all gravey and an easy find, cache nice and dry T4TP
I had tried to solve this puzzle a while ago, but failed and as it was a Stegan puzzle, thought I'd just forget about it. But then I looked at it again a couple of days ago and realised what was required and surprised myself by working out the co-ordinates straight away. So after 2 days of rain and miserable weather, headed out today in the sunshine to track down the cache. Went straight to the required area, and had read previous logs about looking for the best way in. Off I went and soon located the cache hidden as described. Signed the log. TFTC.
November is a busy month in most people's lives, second only to December I suspect. Teachers are very busy at this time as we begin assessing and writing school reports.
This probably explains why we have so many dot days in November and December! So the mission this year is to beat the COVID blues and the report writing mania by taking time out to fill dot days in the evenings.
Solved the puzzle back in January and needed a find for yet another dot day. Easy find on a lovely evening.

Hadn't remembered finding this one previously and dived in under to come out scratched to bits without the cache in hand. However, i-got-it was the hero of the day, and it was still a bit of fun.
Out with the Wednesday walkers and since it was only 4 of us and all geochers it was suggested we should find this cache which I- got-it found and signed.
staying with watcache nearby and we walked to this one (phew) took us awhile to come up with the goods but got there in the end.

Wow 2 Stegans in one day! Happy New Year!
Been working on this for a few years and in 2019 Eve07 and I decided to sit down and make some headway on this. We put out a few calls of help from colleagues and soon worked out the pictures and theme. Today was a nice day to go for a walk and grab some caches.
Cache in good condition.

Grabbed quickly on my evening walk. Very nice views today, and love the area. Nice puzzle for this one too. Tftc!
Solved some months ago. Came past final a couple of weeks ago but way too many muggles around. Found an hour to head out this afternoon and muggle numbers were much less. Spotted the cache and found a way in. While I fought with the growth in one area Frame Family searched a little further along and two caches located. Both caches found so both books signed. Tftc
Had solved the puzzle a while back and had attempted finding the final but was way too muggly that day. So today after handing in my portfolio Kerynz said why don’t we celebrate with a cache! Well I can’t think of a better way of celebrating . After a quick look near GZ Kerynz said “I see it”. Getting to it was another matter. She went one way and I went another and she got to it with a lot of difficulty. While I was looking for an easier way out I saw something that looked out of place. Another cache??? No, there are two Wonky Puzzle final caches!! We have signed them both!! TFTC!
On the phone to a friend and was asked did you find a cache today and my answer was no why. Once told what to was I thought right I got 2.5 hours to get one. Off I was and spent about half an hour looking for the final to a Mystery I had solved some time ago with no luck. Must ask another friend for a pointer on that one. Anyway on to this one and after a bit of a walk and some falling I to the bush I found it. Maybe St remember that the direct route is not always the best way to go. So with some more blood given to the cause I headed back to the car. TFTC

Solved this one some time ago and after reading the latest log was time to make a find. Have replaced the container along with the lid that emmakiwi found. Such a fun puzzle and a lovely walk in a favourite area of mine TFTC
Given that this hasn't been found since October last year, I didn't like my chances. However, having lunch in the area I thought why not. I remember hunting for this probably two years ago, it's been in my 'solved' for ages. Today I went down the bank and I actually found what was left of the cache. A lid with a description of a geocache, and about 10cm away, two little log books which were saturated. So I 'signed' as best as I could.
Beautiful morning for a walk. Plenty of other people thought so too. So despite spending longer than I wanted to hunting the frequency of people walking past put me off in the end. Plus the fact i was running out of time before I had to be back for breakfast.
#1467. We spent a very enjoyable day in the Dunedin area caching with KiwiChris and Mrs KC. After struggling to find a couple of caches earlier in the day, it was good to have a quick find here. TFTC.
Solved some time ago, and was waiting for a good excuse to visit the area, which was supplied by a visit from StreetWalker and Troodles who broke their road trip (ultimately to the Oamaru GeoFest) to stay with us. Easy find once we got to GZ.

Good to finally get this out of the "To Do" pile. Cache in good condition. A little concerning that I posted a "Needs Maintenance" log on this cache in September last year (when it was pretty obvious the cache had gone missing) but nothing was done by the CO until another cacher sought permission from them in February this year to replace the cache on their behalf. If you are no longer actively playing the game then at least show some respect to other players by archiving and removing your caches, especially when "Needs maintenance" logs are posted and it's obvious the cache is missing. There are too many abandoned caches out there that prevent new hides from being made due to the proximity rule.
Way back in 2012 a was a muggle assisting in the finding of this cache. Once I took up geocaching I noticed that there was no icon over the spot and assumed that it had been archived. Late last year I finally got around to working out the puzzle and the penny dropped when I noticed the location of the final. A replacement has been put in with the permission of the CO. 2012 was so long ago and with so many hint objects I placed it as best as I could and trying to make it fit all the hints as much as possible.
I think this has gone. From the logs it seems it was plundered some time ago and has been a plastic bag with a mushy logbook for a while. Now it seems that has gone as well. Have had a bit of discussion with the last person to find the bag (back in July) and from their detailed description of the hiding place it is almost certain that there is no "cache" at the final anymore.
Down for the Highlanders Game and we decided a brisk afternoon walk was required. Parked and wandered along to make a quick find but was just a soggy mess in the bag, not to be confused with the doggy mess in the bags which also littered the area. Think this clever puzzle needs some TLC. Thanks for the cache. Whoops spoilers removed from log.
Like Bubble Zone, had been sitting on this for a while. Arrived at GZ with a better idea of what to look for (cheers BZ!), and as Mr Rex scrambled, he found a sistema lid and a soggy bag with 2 logbooks in it. Still managed to sign the log, and replaced the remains of the container under the hint item, safe and sound for the next finder. Thanks, Stegan, for a good puzzle.
I solved this puzzle with bubblesone and together we walked to the final. A long time we searched for the cache and we were finally successful
solved the riddle tonight and a morning walk took us to the final. long search as the hint is totally misleading. cache (just a ziplock-plasticbag, we didn't like that) can NOT be reached from the pathside, but lies about 2 metres further below, at the root of a larger plant. lots of plastic rubbish around log is wet. we hid the cache with a bunch of wooden sticks, so just watch out for those, whoever comes after us. all the best!
Took few looks at the puzzle before I finally clicked. Almost dropped the pen while I was signing the logbook which would have been a lot of fun to retrieve. Thanks
Found this Cache together with SL_Wayne on our great holidays here in New Zealand.
Nice riddle! Quick find!
Thank you so much for the Cache!!

Bored CJ-Curry equals puzzle binge. Puzzle binge equals a lot of puzzle caches to find. Having not had a puzzle run for a while, I called on Silvachief and he and I blitzed through a bunch of puzzle caches this afternoon.
A relatively easy puzzle for me, except for one minor error which I corrected very quickly. The only concern was that the cache had been previously marked as DNF, though this didn't deter us. A quick peek later and we both confirmed that the cache is indeed still there, though not exactly in the form we expected. Cheers again Stegan!

Found this one during a Puzzle Marathon with CJ-Curry. We weren't quite sure if we had spotted the right item but found the log book without much trouble. The cache appeared to just be a snap-lock bag without any associated container. Not sure if that's intended or not.

Solved puzzle and have had several good searches around. I wonder if it is still there?
I'd squinted and twisted and turned the picture but had to rely on younger eyes to get the necessary details.
Then went for an early evening wander and soon made the find.

Found during fozzmiester's South Island adventure. Great fun was had with clever hides and stunning locations encountered along the way. Many thanks to the owners of all the caches found and the enjoyment which you provided.
After having the puzzle solution in the bag for the MEGA it was very satisfying to finally tick the cache off this morning. Thanks for the puzzle and cache.

Solving this one had me turning the computer screen one way and then the other, screw up the eyes to see if it looks any different, hmmmm . . . maybe . . . . yep, think we got this one solved. That was a few months ago and in the area today and pleased to grab the smiley. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
With the co-ords in hand and a lull between muggles we made a quick grab. Found with debsnz
5 of 12 today. A quick easy find and nice to have an easy puzzle to solve. TFTC and puzzle
After having solved the puzzle months ago, I missed on finding this when I was in Dunedin for the MEGA event in October, we ran out of time to walk the necessary distance. This time no problems and the cache was found after a short search. A tricky puzzle, elegant in its simplicity! Signed log, TFTC.
Day 14 of the Adventure. Second time in two days that we have been in the area. This time it was Guwapo and Papa out for a stroll/ride. Quick find and log. Salamat!!
Enjoyed the puzzle, rather nice. Not too many dramas at the final and a calm morning just after sunrise.
Out walking with cachemanchris and my daughter who had the day off school and just happened to walk by a couple of caches - how convienient. Worked the puzzle a while ago but just never made the time to collect till now. Nice easy find at GZ. TFTC
A successful find today after the walk in to GZ. Signed off between the many groups of walking muggles on a pleasant day. TFTC

Easy find today muggles in the far forward distance, and no one behind me. Thanks for the challenge, Stegan.
Found on Leftover Day- a caching run dedicated to having another stab at the DNFs, doing those mysteriosly left out, doing the new caches added during the Mega.
This was a DNF last time. This time an easy find. I suspect hordes of cachers are to blame...

10054... A quick solve but a bit of a Wonky trek to GZ as it was windy, thanks for another cool Puzzle and cache.
Wish I had seen this puzzle while down in the area, nice easy puzzle to solve. Oh well, will have to leave this for another year!
Day 5 on our 6 day caching trip to Dunedin for the NZ MEGA 2012 event with Gunnie69, Kaisho53, Ozibags, ghostgums and MrMeccano. Once again we hit the road reasonably early with a plan. The day started off spent around Saint Clair, St Kilda, South Dunedin, Kensington, Mosgiel, and Caversham.

After finding out that the road to this one was not accessible, the group relocated the van to a closer location and came in cross country style...
We popped up on the road about 100m from the cache and wandered down for a look. This is a very popular place for muggles and their dogs so we had to bide our time before moving in for the hunt. The first given opportunity saw us dive in for the extraction and we secured the find quickly... [^]
Back up onto the road for business, we added a group sticker to the log and tucked things back into the cache. It took a whole lot longer to replace it as the muggle count picked up significantly as we were sorting out the official business...
We got it back though and moved on to the next.
Found in the company of fellow Queensland hunters Kaisho53, OziBags, TheFourBees, Ghostgums and Mr Meccano.
Cheers stegan.

Hadn't expected the long walk to this one, but it was a nice, easy one and the cache was worth the effort. Nice one. Even got a bonus find by helping some other cachers find a cache they were looking for next to where we'd parked the car. TFTC.
Got this one sorted, and sonia26642 retrieved before some muggles got close enough to even start wondering what we were up to - because sitting on the ground with a container and laughing is reasonably normal
Was running a study group in the ground floor study room at home, and everyone seemed to be not needing help, so I decided to pull out some Dunedin puzzles, one of which, this one.
Of course, I decided that since the puzzle was wonky, my laptop had to be wonky too... so, I'm sitting there, in a full study room, twisting and turning my laptop upside, downside, trying to get a flash of inspiration... hmm... then I noticed the girl next to me was kinda just sitting there staring at me... "Oh, I'm trying to solve a puzzle geocache..." And that made all the sense in the world, as she had once seen me run out of the study room in just my socks, chasing an FTF which I then had to explain after returning...
But then I had the cache solved!! And we went to find it today. Once at the right side, we spotted it, and I quickly as retrieved it before the other people coming came!

I had solved this one back home in preparation of BaldEd's and my visit to Dunedin for the Mega. My GPS was a liitle out here when I first past the GZ looking for a possible track down which wasn't there. So came back and the GPS behaved itself.
Cheers for the cache.

I hate it when dog owners don't pick up their charges do do's. I nearly nealt in some unknowingly as I retrieved the cachE. Here with Tufty.
Lots of muggles on this fine sunday, but I still managed quite a search. Alas no go. After I left I realised there was one place I had missed. First Geochecker - yep, I had the right coords. bugger. Well, I am herer for two weeks, will pop back midweek sometime for another go.
Puzzle no problem, final took a long time! No luck from one side, searched from the other side, picked up rubbish, feeling very wonky by the time we got back out. Back on easy side assistant Kathy gave up, I reached for something and there it was. Two log books, both new - added a cache name to one of them.
Found at 3:32:00 p.m. on 30/09/2012.
I had noticed that this cache had been replaced so off I trotted along the road to seek the new container. Imagine my surprise when I opened the cache and saw that the logbook had been signed by WEKA and AdventureTharon!!!
Is this the original cache?
Is there a new one nearby?
The immediate area has had an extensive garden makeover and the cache I found was partially buried but now right on the edge of the hide location.
I replaced it in a slightly less exposed position but still easy to spot if you have the knowledge.

Well, fancy that! I guess finders have twice the chance of finding it (until I remove the surplus container!)
Spent a long time here and tried all the hint objects in sight.
Might it be buried???
Might it be buried???
Had this one in the eye for awhile and kept looking at it every now and then. Then had a chat with some one and it came to light......
Never been around here before, so had a quick park and searched.... Very busy road this morning.

Revisited GZ today, to find it had been well hammered since my last visit, so where are all the DNF's?
I had received explicit clues in my in-box, but they did not help me to get lucky on this. Another time.

Solved this easily, and checked my answer to get a green tick, unfortunately, I just couldn't find the cache.
GZ was a very busy place today, but I approached from under cover, and tried to keep the rustling moises down. Losing my sunnies was a blow, especially as I discovered the fact some 20 mins away, and had to go back for them. Was fun, anyway- yes ! it was.

FTF about 10.30 p.m. The puzzle was quickly solved, although not actually sure if solved as intended, or just an intelligent guess, but geochecker said yes. A pleasant moonlight stroll ensued followed by a somewhat less pleasant 30 minutes searching by torchlight. Despite the precise and accurate hint, it was not until about the fourth time looking in that location that the cache mysteriously appeared in sight. Might have been easier in daylight. TFTC
