Only the one DNF today but as per previous logs, seems this one was deliberately removed by a muggle resident. Good day of caching today
Nope! No joy for us here-the muggle property owner nearby has removed it-booooo!
Alas, no meeting of new friends here....sounds like the local was not interested...
Thanks amyway SEMIK....
Thanks amyway SEMIK....
A local approached me and told me it has been taken offline.
And she was not happy about all the visitors at the edge of their property.
But then gladly told me where the next one was.............

Out with Brutus for a days caching. While he has already done this series his local knowledge of the area made this a fun time to do.
My 2nd attempt, and this time a smiley. The game is always bringing in new people, which is exciting from 'I'm new what do I do' to 'Let me help you new people do these caches'

Spent the afternoon replacing every logbook in the series. Swapped 5 containers to help keep the log drier. Replaced 3 damaged or missing containers. All-in-all it was a very good maintenance run and I am pleased that so many of the series are still in very good shape after nearly two years. I hope you enjoy the series!
Unfortunately, it seems that this cache has gone walkabout. Could not find any sign of it.
Day five of our caching trip. I joined up with friends to make our attempt on some of the trails south. We achieved many personal bests and milestones on this trip. Thanks to my fellow cachers for the company and thanks to the 'SEMIK' for the series. . Great fun. SL..TFTC
Day 5 of our trip in SA and powertrail 5 is cold five-oh, coincidence? We didn't plan it that we. Baja15, J+J.AU and me we having a ball here in South Australia. If we only had the space at home to do these things! This trail was well set up but unfortunately is up for some maintenance. A few logbooks were wet or needed replacing, Container are replaced were neccessary, we did 3 and Marcus Vitruvius did one as wel.

Having completed the Oz Mega SA series, the Oz Mega Signal series, numerous caches in the Wandering Heroes series yesterday, and the TdF trail last night, this morning it was on to the Five Oh series. This one was a nice simple drive by find, and the cache found in the likely spot.
Gratias SEMIK.

Baja15, Wilbert67 and I had been planning to do some of these series and here we are. This series does need some maintenance, lots of the logs are full or wet, all found and the areas were easily accessible, enjoyed the series. TFTF
We failed to find this cache back in March of this year, and thought that it had been removed from a nearby fence-post. This time we found it, and it was not in the post.
HOWEVER, ARE THERE TWO CACHES, because the last entry in the log book before ours, was made during March, and there have been many Cachers who have found it since then.

We looked for quite a while here today but were unable to locate a cache.

Eighth find on a morning out with the younglings. All caches we found today were a good introduction for the kids - nice and easy to find, and not too far between caches. Would have been good to walk/hike it, but that wasn't practical with three kids in tow.
We were going to follow the set in order, but got to 4, looked at the path to 5, and realised we should have left the Falcon at home and brought the Prado instead. Never mind. We followed the bottom of both the "5" and the "0", and will return over the next few weeks (hopefully) for the rest.

After caching on the TdF series this morning and around Eudunda in the early afternoon, we decided that we had time to make a significant start on the "Five Oh" series before the sun set. We enjoyed the caches we did - although all were the same size, the variety and the quality of hides kept us on our toes. As we drove around we enjoyed looking at the agriculture, in particular two very large bulls who semed very interested in what we were doing. The bird life in the latter part of the day was also very enjoyable - such variety of breeds and calls. We managed to find just over half of the caches in the series this afternoon - hopefully we can find the rest tomorrow.
This cache was a quick find. The cache and its contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache SEMIK.

Without even going to any events we have met some great new people and made some great friends through geocaching. It's so great to have friends who share our passion and don't look at us like we're a little nuts like our Muggle friends do! TFTC!
The Geowife looked at the window this morning and said "what a lovely day, lets go and do the Five oh series"
With in a matter of minutes I was dressed and waiting in the car for them. We drove down towards Nurioopta and the excitement of the power trail was building.
When we arrived at the first cache the Geowife checked Facebook and someone said "I hope the wheel ruts don't sallow us up." and they were not joking. This would be completely undoable in a normal car in winter. I had the Commodore balanced over some pretty deep ruts in places, but we gritted our teeth and closed our eyes and we did it.
Sorry for the generic logs.
Thank you for the Cache.

It's the 28th now and after 36 hours of non stop caching we were heading back to our caching HQ.
But alas we still need to grab a few more to get our target of 600 caches.
Many thanks for the neat skippy series, another 50 caches, nothing like meeting new friend on the trails.

#4413 With our caching companions, Lostmonster &Co, we had just completed the Signal, Oz Mega and Wandering Heroes series during a 24 hour caching run. That all done we'd gone a little loopy on the fruity series, ridden the Tour De France and after a nights R&R we were finding "50 things that we love about Skippy". Meeting New Friends - always great to do & there are so many really nice people out there. Our thanks to SEMIK for 50 reasons to smile. Cheers [^]
Despite enjoying my own company, I love being part of the wider caching community and the friends it has given me! Cache #1,574.
This cache was found on Day Two of our Four Day Adelaide Caching Tour, with TriBre, Fairybum, Mastamak, KidzJCT and Running as Teams BosNewellgus and Gummy Dales. Team Gummy Dales joined us late last night, and with all teams in attendance we headed out to the Barossa Valley Area.
Today the attack would be on the Fruit Loop, Five Oh and a whole lot of caches in between! I know we drove through the Barossa and we elected to stop for lunch at one of the wine estates but by the time we can to think about lunch it was way passed 2pm and we had run out of wine estates to stop in on! We did eventually make a stop in Mount Pleasant for Dinner at a great Little Pub, and it was Poker night! We did not stay as there was still smiley's to be found....
With the large volume of finds I have written a generic log. I would like to thank the CO's for creating a Great time out and I can assure you fun was had by all. I believe we will be planning another trip to SA....
This was the 46th find of 188 finds for the day in SA, with 1 DNF's by this time of the day.

Found with TriBre, Mastamak, KidzJCT, FairyBum and Gummy Dales while in Adelaide on a four day geocaching excursion from Brisbane.
Thank you to all cache owners on a fantastic bunch of geocaches.
Thank you to all cache owners on a fantastic bunch of geocaches.
Found with TriBre and our team BosNewellgus, KidzJCT, Fairy Bum and their team Gummy Dales.
We were down from Brisbane for 4 days of geocaching. TriBre and I flew in yesterday morning and got a good head start on the cache finds. KidzJCT and Fairy Bum flew in late last night. It was up early this morning to continue the smiley hunt.
Today we headed up towards the Barossa and ended up completing power trails Five Oh and Fruit Loop and a heap of individual caches.
The Five Oh series was particularly an adventure. When we booked the hire car we didn’t realise that most of the caches we were to find were actually on dirt roads. Perhaps we should have done a little more research. We booked a Commodore but didn’t think it would be so low. Given the state of the roads here and one section in particular it was obvious we hadn’t chosen to best vehicle for this cache hunt.
We had a heap of fun today driving through this area. Great scenery and a chance to check out a lot of small towns My only regret is that we didn’t spend more time here and we didn’t visit one of the many wineries we passed by. We did have a fantastic pub dinner in a small town I didn’t even know the name of.
I hope everyone in SA realise how good they have it here geocaching wise. A geocache almost everywhere you turn. We had a fantastic time while here and no doubt will be back again sometime. A big thank you to all cache owners whose caches we found.
Due to the volume of caches found I have only written a generic log. This should in no way detract from the fun we had in finding each and every cache.

The rain has finally fallen, just in time for Anzac Day, and to bring a smile to farmer's faces. After completing the TdF yesterday with an overnight camp at Cordola, it was time to tackle this one before heading home. Thanks Semik for placing these caches. Some of the roads were interesting to say the least!
We planned a trip out to collect this series and couldn't help grabbing a few more for the afternoon, finishing with 65. The series was enjoyable on this beautiful autumn day. We also did our bit CITOing along our way. Glad we had the 4WD for one of the tracks, which was fun to go along. Sorry for the copy/paste logs. Thanks for the 50!
Another good find in the Five Oh series.
Enjoyed the drive around on a lovely hot day.

A morning out caching in the Barossa Valley. A quick find. A very fun little power trail this one. TFTC.
This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.
I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.
Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.
The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.
Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.
Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.
Thanks, Quasar3671.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.
As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.
To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.
****************
After the huge day we had Tuesday, some might think that we would rest up on Wednesday. However, there was no rest, and we were at it again, early. We targeted and completed the APM, PSA, 50, 60 and 40 series. There were other caches we found as well during another big day. In the end, I was glad to be able to see Adelaide and find a few caches there as well. Being the junior member on the team, it was fantastic to see how the others planned this, and the final result, being over 1000 caches in 48 hours.
****************
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.
Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.
With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.
Wednesday might have been a day of rest, but when you plan to get 1,000 caches in two day, there is little rest. Today the 50, 60, 40, PSA and APM series were collected before starting to head back to Victoria. The highlight of the day was collecting two 5/5 caches in one day, and completing the P81 challenge by collecting a 5/4.5 cache.
While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.
The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.
With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.

While you might think after the huge day on Tuesday, that Wednesday we might rest up, but oh no, again we headed out early after getting some sleep under the belts. We completed the APM, PSA, 50, 60, 40 series and a stack of other caches here and there. The other caches included two 5/5's and some completed there P81 challenge on a very nice conclusion to a 5/4.5 cache. Another great day, and we did get 1000 in 48 hours.

Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. TFTC and the memories.
I enjoyed driving some quiet little back tracks to complete the series of the figure 50 . Found it nice and easy.
Thanks SEMIK for the cache.
Thanks SEMIK for the cache.
Thoroughly enjoyed checking Skippy the Kangeroo's years today, I find I am enjoying driving the country roads more than caching in the cities lately so this series was ideal. Love the patterned power trails like these.
Enjoyed the visit, and the find, many thanks SEMIK.

Took to this trail today with Loki'Nap and managed to find them all.
Had an enjoyable day in Noriootpa and even found some almond trees to raid.

out with McKee Clan for the day, also found with purple gecko for the scouts geocaching challenge. tftc sl.
Today out with Purple Gecko & Spy Jordy for there Geoscouting challange. Plan was to get them to 100 finds and we achieved it today. Photo's taken at each cache and what a job they have to put them all online. no DNF's either today that was great.
on the series we saw foxes hung on a fence, wire that needed a ride on my back left brakes (all good), A motorbike dude who looked at us too much and nearly hit a tree lol, two boys using the car as a jumping castle, 4wd fun on the first track, bueatiful bird life and country side and a fantastic adventure was had. Many caches done so I have put it all in one generic log.
Thankyou for the series we had a ball over 3.5 hours.
Next will be finishing the primeminister series and the premier series, lotsa soduku to do. Went to check on spy jordy to see how he was going solving them and the cheeky bugger is on the computer with an online solver. Clever boy!

We have enjoyed this Five Oh trail,
The description should be read as the conditions outlined are spot on.
We have replace this one with a new container & log book
THanks Semik a great birthday gift for Skippy

We could not find this one. It was our only failure in this series. We think that the cache is missing, because we found a spot which probably was the cache's location. Thanks for a great series.
Looked in the most obvious spot, plus around and about, not found. Given that I attempted and found 41 other similar caches in this powertrail today, I think this one has been muggled fairly recently. Can the owner please check it. I hope I am wrong, but I had a good look.
Left the caravan at the Bridgestone Commercial center in the Barossa Valley,
while doing the 'Five oh'. A couple of wild roads made it interesting.
A good series put together, many thanks to SEMIK for the effort.

This cache was found by Team PacketStorm and Team Indiana08 whilst completing their designated mission to SA. The teams set out together on the 01/02/13 to 09/02/13 to gain as many smiley's as they could in a short amount of time. Both teams logs will be exactly the same but I can assure you much fun was had by all.
Thank you to all cache owners who have placed and maintained these caches.
Day 6, 06/02/13, We left Mallala at around 8:30am and headed for the 'It's a small world' series. We came across a stumpy tailed lizard but luckily no wriggly sticks! We finished them all a lot quicker then we thought so we headed over to the 'PSA' series. We sat around and had our lunch whilst we figured out the Sudokus. We had this series finished by 2:45pm so we decided we had plenty of time in the day to attempt the 'Five-oh' series. All up today we found 167 caches.
There was a very obvious hiding spot for this cache but it was nowhere to be found. We widened our search but cache was still not found. As each of the other hides has been quite easy we assumed this cache may have gone walk abouts. We replaced it with a green bison tube in the tree close to the coords as this does not seem like it was the first time it was taken from the post. I hope this is ok.

Unfortunately we couldn't find this one. We even left it and came back, but no luck today

On our annual Holiday to follow the Tour Down Under in South Aus. I am hitting a few caches along the tour route.
With my Parents riding the BUPA challenge form Kersbrook to Tanunda I had a couple of hours to kill, so this Power trail was close to the Finish line so I decided to hit it.
52 CACHES done up here, I started at 7.16am and got the last on at 10.08am. Woo Hoo I hit it hard. Plus I got my 500th find in this trail.

Our first power trail we had a great time. All the logs were signed by geodaughter, we had a good system after about 10 finds. Looking forward to seeing the 50 smiley. Thanks
