Logs
Found yesterday on our way back to camp after exploring the countryside around Wee Jasper. If was a nice quick and easy find. The log book was a tad full. I flipped through some pages and managed to find a random space somewhere in the middle to sign. TFTC and the afternoon adventure.
After a breakfast event to start IGD, a group of us set out to clear out an area to the north west of Canberra. We didn't quite succeed but almost did, and we were all very happy with our achievements. Our group consisted of barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay, Tankengine and contesta. Firstly many thanks to them for a fabulous day out and then to all COs for making today possible. Especially TE who owned so many of these caches and was doing maintenance. All caches found were signed and returned to their hiding place.
Out for the day with Smittengranny and isopeda to collect some caches on a country road less travelled. Tftc
Find # 1260917/8/2024 Out and about in IGD with Joolay, KittyKatch, Tankengine, barb2e, and Smittengranny on a freezing chilly winter day. Warming up when the sun is out All caches found, and logged. Thanks polliwogs for The Dip
i haven't been here since I was a kid'- Hopefully next time I'll have the time and gear to explore underground
Found today and I cant believe how beautiful the view is from here! The log was a little soggy and full so it needs replacing. Thanks for the cache! I would never have known to visit here otherwise.
The family came out to Wee Jasper today. What a beautiful day and a gorgeous setting. We had picked up nutrients on the way and had a nice picnic down by the river. I can definitely see why the kids love it out here. We continued the ride out to Micalong Creek but lost map and cell service so was unable to get caches going to the waterfall even though I knew they were there somewhere!! Darn. Was a nice little hike anyhow. An easy find once at gz. A bit damp inside and log wet but still usable.Tfth dictaham and clan
Looks like this has been disturbed. Found it on the side of the road out in the open. Had me pretty stumped though. I returned it to where I think it belongs. Owner may want to check on it. Was very wet so didn’t sign.
#6041.
We wouldn't have even known that there were caves below us if it wasn't for this cache. Thanks for placing a cache here for us to find.
Back story:
The weather looked a bit gloomy today, but we weren't in the mood to sit at home so we decided to hit the road for some exploring and finding some caches. We dressed according to the chilly, wet weather, but the day turned out beautifully with only a couple of short drizzles during our trip. We found 14 caches with one DNF.

A straightforward find here on a crisp morning while exploring Wee Jasper. Looks like the cave's off limits for a while...
Thanks, Polliwogs and the Emongs.

Out with Aquilus1 and Tankengine on a maintenance run, pick up some finds and just have a look around the area.
Wee Jasper is such a wonderful area to explore. The locals were nice, the land so pretty and the river was full.
This cache: Well that was cool. Easy to find cache and nice to highlight this spot. We didn’t attempt to go in as the mud was very slippery and we didn’t have torches. Tftc!!!

After a night of heavy rain through the region it wasn't sure what sort of day this would be with plans made for a day out in the Wee Jasper area. With Tankengine and dty73 a little cache maintenance was the target and a number of fine looking caches waited to be found. Although it was a little damp when we left the worst had passed and the rain spared us which is the way it should be.
A very scenic drive and a lovely area out around Wee Jasper, the morning grey and cloudy but still lovely which soon led to a warm and sunny afternoon, its a very pretty area regardless of the day. So good to see everything very green and lush, dams and waterways fall and flowing. It was nice to be out with good company in such a scenic area, a very peaceful and enjoyable day as we explored and cached. Honorable mention to the long standing local out for his morning walk in his gumboots that was a wealth of local knowledge and a charming fellow to have met.
After last night torrent of rain the cave was, um... a tad muddy. The entrance steep. Not to be a sook about it but a nicer dryer day would be safer and more enjoyable so we opted to leave the cave and search for the cache and enjoy the views and area. Thanks for the cache Polliwogs and the Emongs.

Plan A for today were the Pieces Creek Scare series, but with all the rain I was not keen to do that. I ended up joining Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK for a run out to Wee Jasper. I was surprised how many caches there are out that way since I was last there. The road has been fully sealed since my last visit too, so that is how long it has been.
Thanks for the cache polliwogs

fitzy_1965 and I headed to the Yass area to catch up with albida33 for a bit of caching today.
We decided to head down to the Wee Jasper area to pick up some caches we had passed by before. In the end we got closer to Tumut than we had originally intended. Oops!
Quick find here today.

Another great day to be out and about - caching.
Cache in good condition, signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, polliwogs, for us and others to find.

Out today to catch some caches on our 10th day (final caching day) in Canberra with RoddyC and Darksidedan.
After a false start we eventually got going on a different target. Nice drive into the bush and then back to a couple new suburbs to make a few finds.
In hard way - out the easy way. Yep. We got there.

In the area to get a FTF but had to settle for a 2TF. This was an easy find Signed dsd
After finding 'Jaspers Jane' cache up the road we decided to specifically come here for the views. We were not disappointed as the views and the cattle were a beautiful sight. Quick and easy find. TFTC Polliwogs and the Emongs.

On the way to the ACT middle distance orienteering champs at Wee Jasper. I left early enough to attempt to clear out the caches at Micalong. Stopped here for a quick find. TFTC.

Found with newb hannahspanna97 on her first ever find . Lovely views on a long week caving with a group of year 9s...tftc
Being all a bit cool and overcast, it seemed a perfect day to drive out to Wee Jasper and hang about by some rivers and creeks (and perhaps above them).
The last cache of the day. I parked down near the cave entrance and had a quick look in, remembering a caving adventure many years ago with a group of friends. We had zero ropes, zero helmets - zero anything other than one penlight torch and a Zippo lighter. Stupid really, but we survived! I resisted the temptation to disappear into the cave and instead chose to go up the hill and get the cache instead. I must be getting old... TFTC

I was getting ready for a quick look in when another group arrived so having safety in numbers I was able to venture in much further,a really awesome experience, once back to day light I walked up and made the find.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
Geohubster parked at the gravel pit and I walked up and over in 37 degrees whilst wearing thongs. Only 100m through thorny ground, to find we could have parked along side the cache. Geohubster's anxiety was up that something had happened to me by the time I returned. At least the cache was an easy find. Beautiful views from the top of the hill so totally worth the effort. TFTC.
This was a nice quick find - climbed up from the carpark and quickly spotted its mostly likely location! TFTC. - Adam and Kahlia
I had just finished taking my Scouts through Dip cave and whilst most of them headed back to Camp a couple came and helped me find the cache. A nice easy find - TFTC
Dropped the missus off as she is a Scout Leader and was camping nearby with her troop and headed over here for a quick find. TFTC.
Instead of parking at the main car park and having a prickly walk up I could have driven a lot closer to GZ. Oh well, too late now! It was an easy find once there at least. As I left a muddy group came out of the cave, including some little kids. I might have to try it next time. TFTC!
Time to do a few caches in the Wee Jasper area while waiting for trail walkers to return to the Fitzpatrick trailhead. Loved the area and the pristine waters and landscape!

Found during a lazy Saturday morning drive home after working around Tumut/Tumbarumba. There were plenty of parked cars but everyone was underground. I'll have to come back better prepared with the geo-crew. Many thanks Polliwogs & Emongs
ACTchil and I spent Saturday night camping at Billy Grace Reserve with The S's, ScruffyBlake, Charlie -Bear, Me_too and Michele, Ian and family. It was such a nice spot and had been here before camping with my cub pack. As this was close we decided to grab it on the way out to go home. It didn't take long until ACTchil found the container stamped the log we took in the beautiful view and off we went back to the car. tftc Pollywogs and the Emongs
spent Saturday night camping at Billy Grace Reserve with Darzee Di, The S's, ScruffyBlake, Charlie -Bear, Me_too and Michele, Ian and family. It was a great spot and we decided to get some local caches on our way home. I used to cave here in the late 70's and it hasn't changed a real lot although the carpark is in much better condition. Nice easy find with great views. tftc Pollywogs and the Emongs
Plans were made to head out on Saturday to do a spot of caching but the weather wasn't the best so Saturday turned into Sunday for us as the weather was beautiful today. RW was in need of some Earth caches to log a challenge cache she had signed while we were away awhile ago. So a drive was in order to collect two of them for her and off to Wee Jasper we went. Lovely day out and about.
Another find while in the area exploring.
Thanks for the cache Emongs and thanks for the company RW.

With the horrid weather yesterday, caching didn't happen so plans were made to get out and about today as both myself and FFLL had itchy feet. We decided a drive out to Wee Jasper was in order and mother nature put on her best for us It was an amazing day out in the country, HEAPS of photos taken, lots of laughter and chatter. A brilliant day of caching with no DNF's to boot
Another awesome location, love these caves and one day I will get down into them We were having a blast in the beautiful 16c temps today and making the most of this Autumn wonderfulness. No issues locating the cache after doing a little exploring of our own. Signed and replaced.
Thanks heaps for the company today FFLL and thanks for the cache Polliwogs and The Emongs [^]

A long weekend spent camping at Wee Jasper, the decent amount of caches about was a bonus.
On our way back to Billy Grace after the swim at Micalong, we wanted this to ensure three for the day. Not hard to get here though originally thought it was going to be closer to the road.

Found 10:40 11/3/17 while camping at Wee Jasper for the weekend. Thank you Tankengine for the cache.
When Dan was a Venturer Leader, he often came here for caving weekends. When he showed Sue the abseil entry points, she shook her head. TFTC
Not to many options for a hiding place for this cache. But nice location. Great views down the valley. We had a quick squizz at the enterance to the Cave to. I wonder how many cave cache there are?
Thanks for the find.
Thanks for the find.
Out with Just a cacher for a lazy Sunday drive and a few caches.

Found with Kittykatch and Grimraider Sunday 23rd after visiting Careys Caves. Beautiful spot and great view. Countryside is looking so beautiful. TFTC
Out exploring with Kittykatch and Grimraider. Been to the caves amazing and then lovely lunch at Ducks and Fishes restaurants. Great day. TFTC
GrimRaider, Joolay and I stopped off here after a day of visiting Wee Jasper and Carey's Caves. No one else here today and cool to see the entrance to the cave. We made our way to gz and made an easy find - all in good condition and great views! Thanks again - lovely spot
After a beautiful morning caving in dip series with a bunch of newbie girl guides, I sent them up the hill to scout out this cache just where I thought it might be. Love it TFTC
After many visits to this spot was able to find it in peace while I wait for the kids to rock up
Found after exploring Dip Caves with Riverina scouts, while waiting for other scouts to clamber out of the glass strewn entrance. The GZ is the best as I was exhausted and would not have appreciated a tricky search. The views were admired while the logbook was signed and then we successfully searched for the daylight hole into Dip. The hole is not fenced off and was a bit breathtaking in how easy tumbling into the cave would be. Thanksfor the cache, it will be one of our favorites.
Made this a bit trickier than a drive by. Had a giggle at the container. Not being cavers (sadly) we didn't venture in to the Dip today. Thanks polliwogs
Found after a exploratory cave expedition with family and friends. Thanks Green Martian. TNLNSL TFTC
Easy find in an obvious hide after a couple of hours underground in The Dip. Introducing friends to both caving and geocaching on the one day. TFTC
#870 After spending the night at a nearby camp ground, I met up with green-martian to find this simple hide. We then ventured into the cave, but not too far... thanks polliwogs for bringing us here.
Nice location, close to cave, so after cache was found me and TheSkype took a short wander into the cave.
I remember being here many years ago. Thanks.
I remember being here many years ago. Thanks.
What a view. Simply put and a great photo spot. Valley is looking very green at the moment. Didn't hear no-one though.
As we drove up the track, new exactly where it would be, even from a distance. Great Cave close by. TFTC
We drove past here twice and both times there was a car sitting on top of the hill with people in it. I don't think the end of a long weekend is a good time to do this cache... Oh well, hopefully next time we are in the area we might have a better chance.
With my outdoor ed class at school, we came out to Wee Jasper for one night for some caving and abseiling. This morning, we arrived at the dip, where we quickly started getting ready. We parked about 60m from GZ, so while the rest of the group was getting out of the bus, Angus and I ran over to GZ for a quick find. Nice hide with some great views - despite the fog this morning. After getting the cache, we headed down the hill to abseil through the 35m hole, before exploring the caves. Awesome! TNLNSL. TFTC!
There are so many caves around Wee Jasper that this enormous specimen is open for all who will risk getting dirty.
And it is dirty inside with every surface damaged or grimy as over the years every surface is examined.
The local caving book describes all the paths through this elaborate 5 level cave that the bananas were keen to explore.
And we gave it our best with climbing equipment and hard hats.
But it is not pristine like the caves we found later in the day.
Oh and we found this treasure also. Thanks Polliwogs and the Emongs.
