Logs
I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi daffy dillThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no cache maintenance logged. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
We could not find this until we read a previous log. We went inside the gate and found the cache easily.
We decided to stay the night in Waiakouaiti after having a great day making 32 finds, 2 DNF and one travel bug found. A lovely winter's day with a frosty start and only a few mins of rain while we had lunch in the car overlooking Moeraki.

We went out in a dry spell, well it was. Both crawled on the ground trying to reach in and feel for cache as couldn't see in. No luck and both wet bad luck for us.
I admit I had been here a month or two ago and had a good hunt around, but not finding. Now that we had read some logs, we realised that maybe this wasn't where it was supposed to be. As others have said, it is on the wrong side of the fence now, but still there.
Another day doing the caching rounds. Decided to stick a bit closer to where we are staying today and try to clean this area up.
Stopped by to get this one. Maybe it has migrated a bit as it was found on the other side. Quickly signed log and returned where found just in case that's where it should be. tftc

Came to Waikouaiti to look for traces of my great grandfather who was the proprietor of the Royal Hotel In the 1860s until he went insolvent!!
Really interesting learning about the importance of this settlement.
Had a good look in the suggested place but no luck. TFTC

Took a while to get the correct location but did it.

Boys beware - Guide Leaders are in residence this weekend.
The logbook is a bit damp and ratty, so I will dry it out overnight and replace in the morning (or later tonight).
Thanks for the smilie daffy dill.

Well this took longer than it should have especially with that hint. Thankfully we had a towel in the car we could put down on the sodden grass so we could give this a good go. Lucky that the road was not busy! I have memories of a camp here when I was a girl guide many years ago! Thanks for bringing me back here!
Found it fairly easily. Luckily it’s a quiet spot otherwise I would’ve looked quite funny if someone had driven passed! Tftc
went back after reading some of the comments and found it, the maps quite off from where it is though, but that might just be my phone
Looked for about 30 minutes, couldn't find it, the hint wasn't specific enough, but still a lovely place to go even if we didn't find it
Heading down to dunnas for the weekend to "cache up" with KJR making time to grab a few I would usually drive past ..quick find tftc
We picked a nice day to come down this way and admire the view. A very quiet little spot here
A quick find on journey south from Oamaru to Invercargill. Have never spent time here, town is much bigger than i had anticipated.
Found this cache many months ago but forgot be log it when my car got stuck in the mud and had to be pulled out.
Woke up in my stone cottage Airbnb in Ocean Grove to find that it had yet again rained overnight. But the dawn was crisp and clear so another day to look forward to with dry shoes and socks. If it carries on like this, I would have packed extra shoes and my wet weather gear for nothing. But I’m not complaining, I’m utterly sick of all the rain we have had over winter in the Manawatu.
Heading from Dunedin through the Pig Root to Alexandra for the day. Very excited, I did spend a lot of time driving this route when I lived in Oamaru and it is one of my favourite parts of the country.
I used to manage a Historic Places Trust property in Waikouaiti, so have spent a bit of time here. A quick find here and I can head on my way through to Palmerston. TFTC

Found on the way to the Oamaru Geofest. Stopped at Waikouaiti to get some lunch (and P!nk tickets so had to make sure I had cellphone coverage). Nice quick find. Grass has been freshly mowed so cache was spotted easily. TFTC
TFTC - Geocaching today with NZ Bozzy around Macraes Flat and East Otago quickly found.
Enjoying the area on a beautiful winters day.

Found with Granville86a on a lovely weekend for a caching trip to Palmerston. Thanks for your cache placement, was a quick dive under the hedge and logged find
The last for our day, found it no worries. Thanks for the weekend Mr & Mrs P&VEE. 3 hours eh !
This one has been on the radar for a long, long time - carefully saved up in case it was needed for a dot day or streak day. Those days are over, so at last have found out where the girl guides hang out. Thanks!
In my long lost youth I camped here as a girl guide and remember 2 things, freezing cold at night and putting 2 cents on the train tracks and after a train went by finding the flattened oval shaped coin. Anyway back to the cache some how despite having wet knees eve07 had to help me find this one in the dark.
Great spot and a great day for some caching up the coast. It nice to get out in the sun today for a change and hoping it stays this nice for the day. TFTC
The co-ordes were a bit out for me. I didn't think it was were it was wanting to take me. TFTC
I had to come back a bit later to get this one as a neighbour was mowing his lawn.
BTW, the 2 cachers on the 21st hadn't signed the logbook.
Cheers for the cache.
