It seems this very popular cache has fallen into the hands of a dreaded Muggle and has been removed from the original location. I will remake the cache to original specs and replace it as soon as I can.

We'd been here earlier today but the mozzies were so bad we couldn't stay. So After doing the "tree run", we came back to our van, dressed so we were fully covered, Bushmans on what we couldn't cover and set back out to get them. On arrival the mozzies swarmed around the car and I refused to get out as they love me! So hubby ventured out and then had to give up. Someone forgot to tell the mozzies they don't like Bushmans!! We agreed to DNF these till we travel through again and hope that the area will be a bit dryer. Thanks for the caches anyway Smile

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.

After a great night with friends in Dalby it was time to move south today. We headed towards Milmerran but stopped for several hours in Cecil Plains. Big Grin So glad we did. [^]

Enjoyed our visit to this town, exploring and finding the swimming pool, train station, golf course, cricket oval, Apex park. The cotton farms and bales, bush track driving. All caches bar 1 had good co-ords. Cool

Another fave point here, or this that an annoyance point. Different to any we have found before. Wink

GPS took us along a back road to this cache. Very sandy, and very nerve wracking sliding around on the sand.
Found cache easily, after we arrived at GZ. Had a lot of fun trying to open it enough to get the log book out. Passed cache around to everyone to have a go. Found very small ticks on all of us at this GZ.

Found it. Took the wits of the young team Bellingham member to open, well done. Advice apply some form of insect repellent as Valkyrja and myself found looks if little ticks on ourselves.

Just had time to visit a couple of caches in the area before heading home.
Arrived near GZ and headed in.
I spotted what was needed.
Geopartner helped me to open as it was full of water and did not twist very well but we managed in the end and it dropped out its little cache.
Signed the log and returned.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks griz066 Cool All good with this cache

Out and about with dabom81, mini munchkin and Jelly the Wonderdog. I had just been to visit the dead centre of town and noticed this one close by. A short walk later and shoes filled with sand I arrived at GZ. The cache itself was a quick find and then the fun of getting at the actual container. Great cache Smile After a bit of this and that I finally manged to retrieve the log book. I signed the log and then a bit more fiddling later it was back as it was to start with.

Thanks for the cache griz006 Big Grin

We are on a road trip heading to the ACT. We are towing our caravan and are enjoying traversing the back road where quite often there is an opportunity to stop and do a cache without being annoying to any other traffic. We have also based ourselves in Cecil Plains and Warialda and done some of the most enjoyable and creative caches we have ever done. We are so impressed with the standard of these caches. Fav point alloc. [^][^] Thanks to griz066.

We had an overnight stop here at Millmerrin. Up nice & early to find the caches in the Cecil Plains area.
What a great day we had, wonderfull caches found 14 in all & gave 5 favourite points. This is amazing for such a small town.
Started on the trees & then around the town, allwas so quiet at 8am in the morning.
Well another great cache, worked out how to retrieve the container.
Worth a favourite point.
Thanks for placing this cache griz066

This cache container certainly had a new twist to it. Loved it. Gently gently and bingo. Quite a bit of water in the main container but log dry. Just as well I had lots of fav points stored up as I,m giving you yet another one. Really enjoyed your work and originality. Thanks very much griz066

A fun find for me today on a pushbike ride and scramble through the sand Big Grin
Nearby muggles at the cemetery meant I had to keep a low profile to find the cache Razz
At least they left soon after I had put this twisty cache back, so I could cycle over to find the next cache in Cecilville Big Grin

That is a pretty cool cache.
I came via the Wasteland cache. A dry soft sand track it turns out. Lucky I had 4wd or I might still be there.

9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.

This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.

Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.

I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.

Today I made my way from Roma, through Dalby and Millmerran and onto do some more of the A.S. series out of Stanthorpe that had been added; before crashing in the car in a great little spot I found just off the New England Hwy somewhere south of Tenterfield.

After my find at waste land I continued along the sandy track to Twister and once near GZ went on foot to the spot the cache was hidden. I soon found the cache, twisted and then was able to sign the log. Nice hide and thanks griz066.

66km from home.
After jinxing us by saying out aloud that we had not had a DNF for the day just before we arrived at Waste Land, you’ll never guess what happened!
As we followed the track on the Nuvi through softer and softer sand with progressively deeper ruts, the low ground clearance of the Diesel Mazda 3 become a real worry, so did either beaching or bogging the car. By steering ‘off’ to keep the car trying to climb the sides of the ruts I managed to get through to the bitumen near this cache.
As I walked back to the cache location with our last working GPSr I thought the cache may have been named after the track it is located on but after a quick find that thought was soon dispelled and ‘confusion’ set in. Confusion, the state where part of the brain says ‘you can do this, just be patient and it will come’ and another part says ‘smash it against a fence post, sign the log and lets get going’. Thankfully the patient approach eventually paid off, although the fence post almost got a another chance when I could touch the log but not extract it…
Worthy of yet another favourite point…
Took nothing but memories and left nothing but our tag and footprints.

Hide, log and container are all in good nick.
Thanks for the cache griz066.

An oversight as I logged this cache, this is the last of our Griz 066 caches found today and I have come up a bit short on the log...
To Griz 066, a special thanks for the time and effort you have put into all the caches in this area, Lyn and I had a great time finding and then simply 'opening' them kept us as enternained as finding them, if there is an engineering degree in cache building, you should have it.
From both of us, again thanks for one of the best days caching we have ever had.

Cheers

Lyn & Clarrie.

Wandered over to this one after collecting the info for the nearby multi. Found the hide easily enough but had us thinking for a second that we weren't using enough grunt. Accidentally managed to open it a fraction and soon figured out the rest. Loved it. Had a moment there when I thought we weren't going to get it shut again though. Thanks Griz066 for making today's finds more interesting.

Out for a long drive today, 400+km and 24 caches later, round trip. Big Grin
This was another stop along the way. I found a track in the right direction and headed in the Falcon. Big Grin nearly got bogged a couple more times in the deeper sand but made it through. Big Grin Parked at the bitumen and walked back. A clever container, i liked it. A fav point.
Thanks for the cache.

Did this one first as there was a muggle at the cemetery so we could not get the clues for Cecil City. This would have to be one of the best cache containers we have come across. Very cleaver would have taken you a while to perfect TFTC Griz066.

Quick find at 1400.

Saw the first new one in Cecil Plains in ages pop up the other night. I knew I would be in Toowoomba on the 10th and had decided to drive the extra 110 klm home just to get this one.

Then I noticed yesterday 3 more and that made the drive even more attractive. Addiction is a good thing. Drove 500klm return from Nanango roughly yesterday to get 7. Parked very close by and walked a short distance in to GZ. Glad I did not park on road as another car came past just as I had opened container.

GPSr spot on GZ co ordinates. Did not take too long to open the outer container to get at the inner container. Clever idea. Pretty obvious hide to a seasoned cacher. All the same good hide and idea.
