TFTC!As a newbie to geocaching I now get its popularity!Second climb for the day after climbing Mount Trio and finding the two caches there.Reading the comments I was expecting this to be somewhat difficult to find, but I saw it as soon as I got to the edge of the summit. Nothing taken or added (I need to stash some goodies in my pack), but a message left in the book and the box is still in good condition.
I had been to the Stirlings a few months back (missed the snow on Bluff Knoll by a few weeks) and did two peaks that day (Bluff Knoll and Mago) and knew I want to do more.
Fast forward and a few things lined up and this was going to be the best opportunity and thought I’d see some wild flowers too but many are still to peak.
First up was the Toolbox which I almost did last time and probably glad I didn’t combine with the other two that day but having done that in less time that expected and still well before lunch it was time to do another and still get back to Perth for dinner.
The wind and clouds from the morning had passed and the fleece put away but carried up and not used. The legs did feel like they had had a workout already but the time I was about half way up and the couple of rises near the top felt like false summits but at least no boulder scree slopes. Some lizards and one snake spotted. A nice scramble for the summit in around 50min and great around views. The shear steepness to the Toolbox showed what the clouds before when on the Toolbox summit covered up. The cache took too long to find and I suspect there are many turned over rocks so it has got harder over time as it appeared well hidden and higher than I thought. Some interesting log entries particularly from May 2022 although not on line. I’ll just say keeping this PG rated I hope it was not too cold girls.
The down trip seemed much quicker being just over half an hour.

Met up early with barnzy12 in Mt Barker to do a run out to the Porongurups. Although barnzy12 had done this climb several years ago, he offered to accompany me today as this was the last of the peaks for me to complete. It was drizzly and misty and we were soaked before we even got to the start of the track but the cooler temperature made the steep climb easier than it would have on a warmer day. Amazing view from the rocky outcrop at the top and found the container in good order. Recorded my visit and returned to our car less than two hours after setting out. Thanks Ruffdaw and Team Setter

Certainly worth the hassle. No spider at home when we visited. Great views from the top.

This is the first cache we've found on our trip and what a cache to find! What a spot! We actually climbed down to these rocks for the best spot to take in the view and then checked if there was a cache up here and we were sitting on top of it! Of course! It was a push to the top but definately "worth the hassell" with nenosinmud
Quick find today after climbing Mt Hassel. Good walk up on this first day of the new year, weather is fantastic - blue sky, no clouds and a light breeze. Awesome view.
Happy New Year all, may the cache gods smile on you and bless you with many easy finds the Year. TFTC

ruffdawg We found your cache Its worth the Hassel thanks for placing this cache for myself and others to find.
A big weekend of caching, starting With a quick trip down to Albany, followed by a trip back to Wellington Dam near Collie to attend the BYO Marshmallows event at Potters Gorge campsite.
We brought a couple of muggles down with us for the camping trip to show them the ropes, think they were a bit taken back by how crazy we all are!
Thanks to the local COs, great weekend of activities and good fun. Thanks

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Well worth the hassle. Superb views.
Great little climb - very enjoyable. Took us a bit of searching to find the cache, but got it in the end! Thanks...
Definitely worth the Hassel!
We were planning on knocking out the Bluff Knoll hike today, but as the weather proved to be less than desirable we delayed hitting the big guy in hopes of fairer winds tomorrow. Mt Hassel, being low enough to not be lost in the clouds and a bit of a shorter hike in the rain, seemed like a nice little warm up. But BOY did this hike give us a work out in the rain! Very enjoyable, and scrambling up the 'castle' at the end of the trail to hit the summit was definitely a highlight as was the wildlife - we saw wallabies and lots of large skinks doing their best to warm up on the rocks.
Finding the cache was a bit tricky and my tired legs were mad with me as I initially went down a bit too far and had to scramble back up to GZ. My half-muggle was a bit smarter though and stuck to higher ground, spotting the cache just as my frustration was settling in. Signed log, swapped pathtags, and enjoyed lunch at GZ before heading back down to the carpark. Just as tricky on the way down as the shale was quite treacherous in the wet. A grand adventure. Cheers, ruffdawg and TFTC!

Cache is fine but I picked up the Dreamy Frog trackable from this cache on the 16th of Dec. The other trackables listed in this cache are not present and should be removed from the listing.
Not a lot of shade on this walk with low scrub, a warm day and not much wind made for a hot walk. Next time I'd probably skip it in favour of Toolbranup or Talyuberlup. Had a bit of trouble finding the cache, put my bag down to find it and then some time later realised I'd put my bag virtually on top of the cache.
This was trek number two for me today after doing Talyuberlup peak earlier! Prove tough for the sore legs but was well worth the walk also! Lovely views! Found the cache after about ten minutes searching, my GPS was all over the place! Was pumped when finally found! Thanks for the cache, have placed Tb we picked up earlier from "Tickle me peak"
Cool day for the climb. Clouds hanging over peaks to the east. Great views from Hassel. TFTH
A beautiful day for a walk, so I had an early morning start from home and was at the top of Mt Hassell shortly after 8am. Stunning views, and well worth the hike; the last part of the climb especially is rewarding, and the outlook across to Mt Toolbrunup is spectacular. Cache was a straight-forward find, and it looks like I'm the first finder for 2015. TFTC.
Found this one with Holly! It was cold when we started our climb this morning. We're warm now! Thanks for the cache!
Tftc meet up find with team of 8 newbies. Left some tissues as pretty handy. Great view.
The BKs B, A & I climbed the peak with others from the Family Bushwalking Club. Nice views from the top. Thanks ruffdawg for the hide.
Wow, Sweated All Of Last Nights Booze Out! Impressed That A 3yr Old Made It Up! My 33yr Old BF Struggled Great Views, Totally Worth The Hike! Took Buzz The TB
Visited with Melvilla and other family bush walkers. Beautiful walk, so much fun even the 3 year old went all the way to the top!
Visited with Melvilla and the WAFBWC. My daughter picked up a Geocoin, for which we need to find a new home. TFTC.
Easily found with geocachers from the Family Bushwalking Club of WA. Dropped off a bunch of trackables some of which will be moved on straight away. TFTC ruffdawg. Did you get permission of DEC in Albany or just the local ranger?
Woke up to the sound of rain and started to put this one out of my mind. But, being in training for a big climb in 6 weeks it seemed a bit wimpy to put this venture off. Gathered all the wet weather gear together and headed out.
Got rained on twice while going up. The Gore-tex kept the rain out but it also kept the sweat in; and there was plenty of that. At the top the jump-up section was a bit wet and slippery, plus I had all my wet weather gear on to hamper me so I took the small track round to the side instead. Apart from that there were no dramas.
Such an awesome view from here; across to Toolbrunup, back to Trio and along the range. Love it!
Thanks heaps for putting a cache up here in this great part of the world.

The day started out like any other.........No it didnt. I had my 600th find on the radar and there is an unfound cache out there. What better way to see it in.
Did a couple of caches on the way through and parked up at the parking area (which is located on Stirling Range Drive at S34° 22.494 E118° 04.735). Took a few photos from the bottom, got my stuff ready then headed on up. There was alot of very low cloud today and at times (most of it) could only just see my car parked at the bottom.
Lots of that rippled rock on the track up, like on Bluff Knoll.
Anyhow, on to GZ, dropped my stuff and made a swift find at 1050. Yep *FTF* for my 600th.
Was a good walk which provided more than just a track up. Ended up with a few ticks on my clothes but you get that, sometimes.
Cheers.
