Nice find. However the mower mentioned in the description is now down in the quarry. The quarry is empty atm besides a small puddle at the entrance. Still beautiful
Beautiful place! We stayed next to it overnight. With DieSchmidtis!I understand why people marked it as a favorite The container was broken and filled with water. We emptied it, unfortunately we had no tape to fix it. TFTC!!
This cache brought us to a beautiful camping spot. Found it quickly with brezelitos. Then we drove to Tunnel Creek and camped here on our way back. TFTC
We are always on a hunt for some treasure exchanges, so the little ones have fun too. Thanks
We stayed in Fitzroy last night, all good with that. Until we turned up here, this would be the place to camp. What a great place! Totally unexpected and a stunning, fascinating location. Great to experience it, cache found an explore, spotted the mower while looking about. Thanks for the cache, another FP worthy location.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT then over the top of WA to Perth.Interesting detours to Thursday Island, Mabuiag Island, Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Hells Gate, Nhulunbuy, Wadeye, Litchfield Nat Park, Wyndham and the Gibb River Road.TFTC.What a magical place . Wasn't expecting the Gorge but the excellent rock formations. Well worth the deviation.
An amazing place that I never would have known about if it wasnt for this cache! No lawnmower but I found the cache without any problems.Plenty of birds around too.SL TNLN TFTC Awarding a favourite point for the location.
We have come to camp here and we're looking for a site. After looking for one with a view we decided to set up camp here. Made a pretty quick find. The cache lid is cracked but everything is dry inside.
Thanks for placing this cache here

Wow! Extraordinary view! I swam in this quarry and it was very refreshing! If I haven’t done geocaching an especially this cache, I would have never gone here. This camping spot is also great as the Fitzroy Crossing bridge is closed and waiting for it to be open!
Such amazing hidden oasis! We loved the place. Wouldn't come here without geocaching. Thank you for showing us the place and the cache. A favourite point from me
This was such a fun cache. Mainly because we approached it from the wrong direction and had quite an adventure. Also had the grandies on theirfirst cache and their eyes lit up with all the treasures. Took a swapsies but didn’t have one to leave so they have promised to leave it at the next cache. TFTC

Ve been here a few times but this is the first time I’ve seen the quarry with this much water.

What a beautiful spot. Found the cache when camping there overnight a couple if days ago. Had no range so used the GPS coordinates.
Annie and I camped here last night and it's so far my favourite place in the Kimberley. A wonderful time we had here last night
Easy find as directed. Nice circular walk around the quarry. Caves with some rock art. All round top spot. Now for a swim it’s 39c.
We are spending a few weeks travelling to some of Western Australia's warmer regions and grabbing a couple of the LGAs that I need.
My snuggle muggle approves of this one. Often I take her to caches that are in the middle of nowhere and she says "why did they put a cache here?" but when we arrived here she said "this is a good spot"
The cache was an easy find then we went for a swim to wash of the dust of our travels.
It didn't fit in with our plans to camp here but it is definately on the list should we come this way again
This was find number 2 for the day.

Wow Wow Wow!!
This was a truely welcome sight!
Up here in the Kimberly’s, to come across a place with a little bit of history, you can still see the concrete floor pads, old road workings, and plenty of natural beauty!
The landscape through the ranges is stunning, the boabs, how different they all are, some in flower atm, some full of stunning green growth, some just full of boab nuts
The quarry is full of fresh, clean water, a beaut spot to stop for a swim, lunch and afternoon tea
Next time, we’ll be camping up here
The views from the top are stunningly beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful and interesting location

Beautiful place I took a ride off the road only 10 kms to get this cache on the way back from Fitzroy to derby week with the diversion for a future camp tftc
Great spot. We’ll be coming back here to explore further when we have a bit more time. Not much water in the trench. Thanks for bringing us to this special place.
When we arrived there camped some people at GZ. Therefore we told them we would search for fossils and found the cache.

Schöner Platz, schön, dass wir durch den Cache hierher geführt wurden. Leider keine Campsite für uns, sonst wären wir geblieben.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Broome to Fitzroy Crossing.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Whitey100' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'The Flying Boabs' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

We were actually heading to a free camping spot a bit before tunnel creek for doing tunnel creek the Day After. But since we arrived at 3 pm already we decided to have a look around here and also go for this cache.

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9829. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
What an amazing location, thanks so much for bringing us in here. We would have driven past otherwise. I kind of wise we had of pulled the van in here and camped for the night. I love the cache hide location, just like it was made for it.
Thanks Whitey100 for the cache.

A rough ride with a 21ft caravan but an awesome place. Coordinates stuffed us up a bit but worth it in the end. Lovely place to camp. TFTC
Today we travelled from Fitzroy Crossing to Windjana Gorge and found this cache.
Many thanks!

Out and about with Megawat60 and MY4B on our northern adventure to conquer the mighty Gibb River Road and claim caches as we go.
Sadly we find ourselves on our way home but not without picking up more caches. What a hidden gem this spot turned out to be with a well stocked cache. Thanks for bringing us here.

Out with m4yb and the Two+Four team after completing the GRR, we are now slowly heading home getting a cache or 3 on the way. Last day of the main section so our last couple of caches on this stretch. Nice spot.

Day 35 of The Northern Adventure with megawat60 and Two + Four. And a good find by Two + Four after our stay in Fitzroy Crossing. Nice spot! TFTC!
Again it has been quite some time since we logged a cache!
We have been travelling down the Gunn River Road over the last 3 weeks, and although we loved it there has been no new caches since our last visit 4 years ago.
The sights and places we visited were magnificent and well worth a second visit.
This time we decided to come out to Fitzroy Crossing after visiting Windjana and Tunnel Creek so of course we had to make the small diversion to see the flooded quarry and collect the cache. A nice hide! We would have missed the location completely without the cache and really appreciated the background history of how the area came about.
There were a few campers in the area, but we only stopped for a quick look and some photos.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 17. I was away bright and early to Fitzroy Crossing where I was disappointed to find the old crossing closed. A short stop at Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge before finishing in Derby on the Wharf.
After a short detour from the main track I found this amazing spot in the never never. The water was a surprise. So many cracks and crevices, but I did find it eventually.
Thanks.

We needed somewhere to camp and noticed this area appear on our wiki camps. A bonus was there was this cache here.
When we arrived someone was camped near GZ so we decided to set up and have a look the next day hoping the campers would have moved on.
Sure enough the campers packed up early and left so we were able to walk up to GZ and easily find the spot.
Plenty of water still here and the views over it are great.
We'll happily return if we pass this way again.
TFTC - Favourtite point from us.

Found at 12:23:00 PM. In Kununurra for a few days and went for a drive to Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. Found this one on our return journey via the highway.
Thanks Whitey100.
Thanks Whitey100.
Camped at the quarry again on our way east. Lots of water after the great wet season up here.
Quite a few other campers including a motor home near the cache. Snuck in while they were out hiking around the quarry and checked up on our cache. All is looking good, just replaced the log book.

Wandering around northern Australia from one side to the other after attending the Red Centre Experience. We are heading to Broome and Pa had planned to camp here tonight without knowing there is a cache here. What an awesome place. First time this trip I really wished we still had the camper so we could camp up near the GZ but no way with the big van. No worries we still had water front views!
Oh yes the cache - a quick find - great coordinates and cache is in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy Whitey100. Stamped log. Brilliant so a fave from me.

Wie schon in anderen Ländern lassen wir uns durch Geocaching gerne an schöne Orte führenund danken den Owners für's Hegen und PflegenTFTC!
A quick find after driving from Derby this morning. We're headed for Kununnurra (eventually) along the sealed highway and perhaps even a little of NT as well on this trip. Then returning (perhaps) along the Gibb River Road to Derby. SL. Thanks to Whitey100 for the cache.
Just a side note... This cache is some 10kms along a dirt road, but is is (other than the last 100 or so mtrs) caravan accessible - just take your time. There is more than enough room at the end for *many* caravans / campers, so everyone passing along the highway should give it a go. So really nice photo oportunities along the way as well. Definitely deserving of a Favourite Point.
Having left home in Adelaide and traveled up to Darwin and then across toward the sun, we stopped two nights in Fitzroy Crossing. From there it was a day trip to Windjana and Tunnel Creek. Stopping here we found a camper right on GZ so asked if they knew about Geocaching. They had and were very intrigued when I pointed out the container.
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends before flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Pine Creek, Edith Falls, Katherine, Nitmiluk, Timber Creek, Lake Argyle, Kununurra, Emma Gorge, El Questro, the Bungle Bungle’s, Fitzroy Crossing, Geikie Gorge, Tunnel Creek, Windjana Gorge and Derby. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
This was a fairly quick find at Ground Zero first thing in the morning. Thanks so much for the cache and please have a favourite point for having led us to this great camping spot with hardly anyone else around at just the right time last night. It was dark when we arrived so it was nice to wake up to the view! Today there was just one small pool left in the quarry.

Nice potential camping spot which we couldn't use. The lake was dry but interesting area anyway.
Mr Bushies2 has been there before for work so it was easy to find the spot...Mr Bushies2 located the cache easily. Thank you for the cache, greetings from Kununurra
Took a detour of the main road to this spot. Were planning on camping here last night but it was getting a bit late. Huge camping area, lovely scenery here and the quarry is huge. No water in it at the moment. Nice big cache.....thanks for bringing us to this nice spot.
A great place out of the way and one we wouldnt have found if not for the cache. The landscape here was very dramatic. We found lookout quickly but took the high road to the cache hence lots of rock hopping to finally find the cache an easy stroll from the lookout. All part of the fun. TFTC and bringing us to this great spot.
We like many others camped here for 2 nights and enjoyed the soitude and great sunsets, sunrises were a bite quick for us Trekkers! Talking to the campers that were there, were also geocachers a while ago and enjoyed the hunt with us.

On our way through the red center we found this cache. This place is worth showing, thanks to this cache we did see it! Cheers from Germany!
Driving across the north of Oz to Qld. This looked like a good spot to free camp. Terrible road out there pulling our little caravan. We found the spot hot and dry and very little water left in the quarry. Once we got on to the correct GZ we soon found the cache. great little hide. Took the Duck Kajka TB as it had been sitting there for a long while. TFTC Whitey100. Decided not to stay, pushed on to Fitzroy Crossing.
This was another find in Western Australia while crossing Northern Territory and Western Australia from Darwin to Perth on Gibb River Road through the Kimberlys. During this 8500km journey we've met many nice and friendly people [^], visited countless marvelous places, saw lots of interesting local wildlife (and plants), took some 2500 pictures home and logged some 300 Caches .
A very nice location somewhere in the middle of nowhere...[)] we found the flying boab .
Thanks for the cache, we've enjoyed it very much [^].

A favourite. This is what we love about geocaching. This was a delightful place we had no idea existed. There were two caravans here but not near GZ so we had the place to ourselves. Easy find because GPS was spot on. TFTC left a duck TB .
Well, fancy finding a Whitey100 cache out here after having met them in Meekatharra a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful time here. First of all we pulled up late at night but were not quite at the spot. We spent the morning climbing the sharp mountains near the the sandpit where we had parked ...then checked for caches. Well blow me down with a feather... so off we went to a quick find. We looked over the edge and to our amazement the old quarry was full of water so we drove around to the edge and spent the next 3 hours snorkelling around the cliff edges. We went about 400m along the quarry and Mrs M found a tennis ball to add to our cache swag. Bonus. Lots of fun except that we had to bring a bit of CITO out of the water. What a great day of adventure, unexpected as it was. A fave from us. Took a doyley, left 2 x crocodile picnic rug weights. TFTC
We found this geocache rather interesting.
We had heard about the quarry in another travel book, and it was mentioned like on the cache page that it would be full of water.....
But it wasn't!
We were looking down at a very big and very dry quarry and could not imagine that there would be water in there?
